I had an Egyptian Massage in the spa with Ahmed. He was excellent and attentive. The spa is very clean and serene with a good jacuzzi.

The guesthouse was simple, clean, nice, and quiet which we wanted after our busy Cairo/Giza trip. The place has a lovely front garden too. The room was spacious, beds were comfortable and the AC and fan worked very well. Hamada was very accomodating and helped organised all our tours and transports in Aswan including trip to Abu Simble, and to/from airport with fixed good prices (you just need to tip the driver). He always responded promptly to all my text queries and put my mind at ease. Breakfast was good too. The island was very local, people were friendly, and no sellers harassing you. There's a boat to catch but it is very regular and only cost 5 egp each way. We also had a lovely dinner overlooking the river at the The Jamaican (the second place, next to where to catch the boat) which was very affordable, great food with fantastic view and we loved the mango fresh drinks and it was relaxing... The guesthouse is for you if you are looking for someplace local, comfortable, clean, quiet, simple and safe place to stay. I also liked the fact that i was able to arrange all the tours we wanted to do with Hamada with flexibility... If you are looking for somewhere fancy, luxurious or easy accessibility to shops/party places, then this place is not for you. I highly recommend this place and good way to help local establishments.

Wow! Such an amazing experience. Staying on Elephantine Island was one of the best experiences of my life. The locals on the island are incredibly friendly. During our time, we had many amazing interactions with locals as we were invited into homes for tea and had the opportunity for cultural and language exchanges. Since there are no cars on the island, it is quiet and peaceful. The restaurants on the island are the best in Aswan and there are friendly dogs and cats everywhere. At first, we thought it might be inconvenient to cross the river several times per day to access the rest of the city but we found that it was more than worth the inconvenience. The hotel itself is beautiful, clean and comfortable. Breakfast is great and the hotel staff is friendly and genuinely wants you to have the best experience possible. I'd specifically like to highlight the driver who works for the hotel. He picked us up from the airport, drove us to Abu Simbel and then to Luxor while waiting for us to stop at Kom Ombo and Edfu temple. We spent about 13 hours in a car in total with him over our 4 days in Aswan. He was incredibly patient, friendly and is an excellent driver.

Our stay at the Mango Guesthouse was absolutely amazing! The Guesthouse is located on a beautiful little very relaxing island and has a very beautiful designed garden and a rooftop terrace from where you have a stunning view on the Nile. The hosts organised an airport pick-up for us and even send someone to the ferry station to walk us the house. The room was super clean and very cozy with attention to detail. We had a delicious dinner and a great Shisha in the evening. Sadly we had to leave at 4am the next morning to go on a cruise, but we really would have liked to stay longer! They even prepared a breakfast bag for us (very good breakfast!!!!) We highly recommend this Guesthouse and would love to come back!!!

We loved everything about Mango and you can't beat the chilled out vibe of Elephantine Island. The staff were amazing, Hamada took real great care of us, connected us with a great driver/van for Abu Simbel and the most wonderful felucca captains Ibrahim and Mostafa, all at reasonable prices. Our room was almost luxurious, very comfortable and clean and the bathroom and shower were also good and so much better than most other places we stayed at. It looked like some of the upper floors are under construction but since we were there at Ramadan time there was no activity going on. The fridge at Mango always well stocked and priced at normal supermarket prices despite being on the island. They have a kitchen where you can make your own food/teas/ coffees etc. We didn't have breakfast at Mango but they did pack us a breakfast box when we left at 3.30am for Abu Simbel which was alright, nothing special. Although my husband was a bit nervous about the ferry and the dimly lit mud paths on the island as we arrived after dark, we ended up really loving it with all the friendly people and being away from the chaos of Aswan. We fell a little bit in love with the Nubian people and were even invited one evening to tea after dinner and to hang out on a felucca for which our new friends refused to accept any money.

This was our favourite stay in Egypt! Amazing location on Elephantine island- small very regular boat service across every 5 mins - hotel has a lovely relaxing garden and great views from rooftop. Honesty bar where you can buy drinks and beer and take to rooftop. Room very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Staff very friendly and helpful and happy for us to relax in their garden till the time of the overnight train in the afternoon which was fantastic. Highly recommended and amazing value for money !

Very clean, comfortable, safe, good wi-fi, air con and fan. Super friendly and helpful staff. Delicious food on site, cooked fresh, for both dinner and breakfast. The rooftop terrace is amazing for dinner: great view and atmosphere. It's also great to relax during the day. Authentic location in a Nubian place; very easy, quick and inexpensive to take a public ferry from/to Aswan. Great location. There are also local shops nearby where one can buy water, food etc. - all good price, as for locals. Nobody is hassling tourists on the island either

The location is amazing. If you want a quiet place to stay with really friendly people then this is the place. It’s easy to meet other traveler. From the roof to you have amazing view to the Nil. Food served was delicious. I felt like home. My room was cozy and very quiet, so I was seeping very well. Everyone on the island is very friendly and just want to talk to you. Beautiful views from the island on every side.

The location of Bob Marley Guest House is amazing! It’s located on an island far away from the chaos of the city. Our room and the shared areas were absolutely clean and smell lovely! The rooms are spacious and have unique designs. They also have a rooftop restaurant with an astonishing view of the Nile! Even tho breakfast was not included we had it and it was the best breakfast out of our 9 day traveling trip across Egypt! The staff is super friendly and helpful. Internet was also good! I’d really recommend checking this place out! Can’t wait to visit you again some day!

My room was spacious, clean, and had a fan that kept it cool. The bathroom in the hall was also clean and large, and the property had wifi and outlets that accepted my chargers. Great view of the Nile from the rooftop and great location on the peaceful and safe Elephantine Island. Ali and his staff were wonderfully accommodating and friendly and helped me with everything I needed. An amazing stay for a great price that I would recommend to anyone.

Just a short boat trip across the Nile from bustling Aswan, Bob Marley Guest house was an ideal stop on the way to Luxor. My bedroom was very clean with a comfortable bed and a good shower. The food was delicious and the views from the roof terrace restaurant.. amazing. What more would you want. Thank to Ali and his staff for making my stay very memorable.

Great stay by the Nile I had a really nice stay here. The room was super clean and tidy, which made it very comfortable. The host was welcoming and really on top of everything, making sure everything ran smoothly. The best part was definitely the terrace overlooking the Nile—such a peaceful spot with an amazing view of the hills. I also really enjoyed the tea and the homemade dinners, which were delicious and felt like real home cooking. Would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a relaxing stay by the river!

Baba Dool is like a breath of fresh air. Away from the hustle and bustle of Aswan, it is situated on the bank of the Nile. It is quiet and peaceful and so unique. The rooms are airy with good air conditioning and and amazing views straight onto the Nile. We had breakfast and lunch at the guesthouse and both meals were amazing. As great as the accommodation was, it was the people at this family run guest house that made our stay so enjoyable. They were kind and helpful and their hospitality was excellent. Ahmed, the young brother of our hostess, went above and beyond, showing us around his island and telling great local stories which no tour could ever give. He even walked us from our boat (driven by his charming cousin) to the train station, so our correct platform and carriage, and refused the tip we offered him. We are 9 days into our Egypt trip and this is our favourite place. Elephantine island is so interesting in itself and suited our relaxes style of travel perfectly.

Very quiet, peaceful place to stay, especially at night. I enjoyed the slow life there with a glass of hibiscus tea! I stayed 2nights and I enjoyed delicious Nubian dinner on both days. It was absolutely delicious and wonderful time to talk with welcoming hosts. I highly recommend to request dinner there!! Also, the elephantine island is fun to walk around. I met Nubian people living there and they always welcomed me and even gave me a flower♡ I will never forget what I felt and experience through this stay at Baba Dool! Beautiful guest house on the Nile with the friendliest hosts. Locals greeted me as I walked through the little village. Hosts offered locally cooked and delicious dinner and breakfast, and helped arrange a ferry ride across the river so I could catch my tour bus to Abu Simbel early in the morning. The view is divine from the terrace - I had the most peaceful and relaxing stay. Highly recommended for young people and solo travelers!

Beautiful, clean, modern and very spacious rooms, with everything one needs. The lady of the house is so welcoming and friendly, she can arrange any sort of tours and visits for a fair price. Breakfast was good too! The side of the island is rather quiet, at least during the winter time, not many people were there. But it's just 5 mins walk from the boat jetty or other restaurants etc.

The guesthouse is located on the peaceful and quiet West Bank of Aswan. Habib and his family are super hosts, they're welcoming, honest and friendly. The whole guesthouse and rooms are very clean, it's the cleanest place I stayed in Egypt, the bed is very comfy and the wifi works very well which is rare in the country. The rooftop restaurant has a very nice view, breakfast was lovely, I also tired the Nubian dinner there and it was tasty. I really enjoyed my stay and felt like I was part of the family. I highly recommended staying in this lovely guesthouse if you come to Aswan.

Our room was very comfortable designed by owner Habib with great attention to detail - good size bed, super clean linen, posh towels, two wardrobes (one for hanging clothes and the other to place items on multiple shelves), desk, chair, large window with screens to make the room bright during the day, and a curtain to make toom dark for good sleep. The owner even provided clothes line with clothes pins - accessible directly from our small balcony. Toilet paper, soap, shampoo were also provided in the large bathroom. Our room faced the village square where local kids played during the day, but at night it was very quiet and peaceful. Traditional breakfast cooked by his sister Gigi was delicious and plentiful. Breakfast was served at the near-by property on the roof-top terrace with stunning views over the Nile. We did not have any pressure whatsoever from the owner about the tours, as a matter of fact, we didn't even have any conversations about it - so for us, as experienced independent travellers it created a peaceful psychological environment. We enjoyed the freedom of our own travel plans, and had two very plesant days exploring the surroundings, local villages and desert hikes.

First of all, we were moved to another place: Nubian Holiday House, belonging to the same owner. Now, i felt we were upgraded, because it was the best Nile view I've experienced my whole Egypt trip. The staff was amazing and very friendly. Our flight was very late at night and they've waited almost until 1am, giving directions to our driver. Typical local tasty breakfast with a view over the Nile. Room was clean, big and very comfortable. Advice: they have pickup service from the airport. It's good price and much more convenient than using a taxi or transfer.

Habib is a very welcoming, helpful, and kind host, always available to solve any queries. He and his staff made us feel like at home, they went the extra mile to support us with the organization of visits and thanks to it we spent a great time in Aswan. On arrival, he let us choose from two different rooms, we were glad to have one connected to the terrace with a stunning view to the Nile river and the other bank of the city. The hotel has an excellent location, far from the noises of the city and about a ten minute walk from the tomb of nobles and to the public ferry dock. It is very easy and cheap to get there from the ferry boat west bank that is located five minutes from the Aswan railway station. The room was very cozy, it had a comfortable bed, modern AC and the water pressure was good.

Very nice place to stay on the left bank of the Nile. Clean, modern, yet having the distinct Nubian style. Good WiFi. Friendly hosts. Nice terrace for the common use with the view on the Nile. If you come by car like we did, there is a safe place to park next to the building. Five minutes walk to the Tombs of the Nobles in Aswan, Dome of Abu Al-Hawa, and a ferry that will take you with all the locals to the right side of the Nile where the rest of the tourist attractions is located. Strongly recommend for those who want to stay away from the 'all inclusive' crowds that select the right bank of the river, as well as for those who want to get a taste of how locals live. Will stay there again when next time in Aswan :) ...

Our stay at Airkela Nubian Guest House in Egypt was truly special. Here's a short review of our fantastic experience: The room was amazing, with a balcony offering a stunning view of the Nile. It was not only beautiful but also spotlessly clean. Plus, the family who owns the guest house was incredibly welcoming and took great care of us, making us feel like part of their family. The location on Elephantine Island was perfect. It was a peaceful escape from the busy Aswan, and getting to the mainland was a breeze with their boat service (thanks to captain Ali). Breakfasts were delicious, featuring tasty local dishes and fresh juices. A real highlight was the Nile cruise organized by "the uncle name". It's an absolute must-do with breathtaking scenery, historical sites, and friendly guides. The staff were very friendly and helpful! Especially Ali who was always willing to take us to the opposite bank in his relaxing boat. In short, Airkela Nubian Guest House offered an authentic and delightful Egyptian experience. We're grateful to the wonderful family who made our stay so memorable. We can't wait to return!

what can I say? that I was pleasantly surprised!! Our last night we decided to look for a cozy place and we found it! Its very simple yes, but choice a room with the view was best as we had a lovely view of the river, boats and a balcony! Absolutely fell in love with Madam of the place and atmopshare, super clean as well. If I will be back to Aswan, so only for this place. Rooms and house are simple but feels great, you get AC and fan, fridge, welcome drink and even breakfast! Getting there by boat, just a min walk from jamaican king restaurant, very very local vibes and streets, so if you have big luggage be ready for 'fun'. We loved it. Convenient to go to the city by boat, if you eat at JamKing you take boat free ! miss it already.. waking up with a beautiful sunrise and the view! ps if you have very late night arrivals or take an early flight -check the boat schedules to get in and get out from the island.

The location was the best! It’s on Elephantine Island, but right around the corner of the place where the boats dock from Aswan. The boats go very regularly, so no problem there. The place is right at the Nile, so you have amazing views over the river. We had a little private balcony with our room, and it was so lovely to have a coffee there while we saw the sun set over the Nile. They also have a rooftop terrace where they serve breakfast. The views here are also amazing, and the breakfast was good. The room was comfortable, with good internet. The staff was also very nice and accommodating.

Perfect location on Elephantine Island next to the public ferry (running all day and all night if needed), river front with amazing views of Aswan. The staff are super helpful and helped booking everything we requested (Abu Simbel trip, sunset Feluca ride, early morning transfer to the airport), but never pushing for anything more than what we asked (which was surely refreshing in Egypt). Not once did they try to suggest extra services (tours, guides, private cars) for a higher rate, which we truly appreciated. They are also extremely friendly and cool; everything was hassle free. The nubian coffee they offered us was one of the best coffees I've ever had :) and points for the welcome drink in the terrace with wonderful views! Lastly thank you to Ali who booked everything for us, Shihab for being so cool and sending us to King Jamaica restaurant (where we went every single night) and Ramia for being so sweet!

We arrived late in evening,and they waited for us on airport,what was really helpful.Short ride on the boat and we arrived.It is located right on the river Nile,with beautiful views..Staying here was so relaxing and peaceful,food was excellent with amazing breakfast and really good coffee.Just few steps from the 2 really good restaurants,and ferry. Amazing experience filled with Egyptian cuisine and culture.. We will be back 😊❤️

Awi guest house was perfect. Coming from the chaos and noise of Cairo this was a welcomed change of pace. The guest house and island it is situated on feels like you have left Egypt and arrived in Africa. The island was quiet, unheard of in Egypt (no pun intended). The room had a spectacular view of the Nile, a small kitchen, and private washroom. I was clean and comfortable. There is a restaurant near by and Awi offers to make breakfast on his water front patio. I did not have breakfast so no details for you guys. Being on an island requires a short ferry ride across the Nile. It will cost 10 egp ($0.30 ish) both ways. So keep some egp on hand. Awi will meet you at the ferry to guide you to the house and speaks relatively good English.

We had an absolutely amazing time at awis guesthouse! Awi and his family are super nice, hospitable and he is helpful with trips and suggestions. The apartment is very cozy and clean with an awesome view. The house is located directly at the Nile and has a lovely terrace. Infront of the house you have trees and in the gardens there are some sheep’s and few cows living. The neighbors are also very friendly. The guesthouse is close to the ferry. Nearby you find great food and coffee at Nubian dreams and sudanuba. We would have liked to stay so much longer! All the best from Jonathan and Isa

Host of the apartment was very helpful. He came to receive us to the ferry terminal and they were very welcoming. The apartment is right on the banks of the river. We enjoyed our dinner and breakfast sitting at the front fasad over looking the Nile. The apartment is basic and it is very clean. You have all the things to make your stay very comfortable. The owner helped us out with the booking of motor boat and our trip to Luxor and hurgada. He speaks English fluently. I highly recommend this property

The place has everything I needed, it was recommended by my contact in Luxor and it turned out to be perfect. The hosts where helping me to find my way around like restaurants and day trips to various locations and other information. Good service, if you have a question or problem they immediately start helping you. Clean place, good shower! Good view too, close to ferry and restaurants. The place is located on the Elephantine Island with it's easy going Bob Marley style. Good place to relax and absorb the local culture. All the cats are your friend from the start! Yes, I would recommend this place to others: 10/10.

Breakfast was delicious and featured local specialties. Awi, the host, was incredibly welcoming and helpful. One great advantage is the free boat transfer they offer from the island to the city, making it much easier to plan the day and arrive on time for tours and other activities. The apartment was comfortable and matched the description perfectly, making our stay very enjoyable.

i liked the welcome and hospitality on arrival ...The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful and dont expect a reward in return .The room and surroundings are comfortable and in true nubian culture furnished..Nice hot water always unavailable for shower and tea or coffee..The breakfast is exceptionally good with variety and served when it suites you..The terrace is very relaxing with a spectacular view of surrounding island and Nile river...

Lovely hotel with terrific view over the Nile to the botanical gardens on Kitchener Island and the tombs of the nobles. The upstairs terrace is outstanding. You can watch beautiful sail boat passing by. The host and manager Amgad is very helpful and will make sure you are comfortable and have everything you need. He will also arrange excursions for you and take you where you want to go. The rooms are comfortable and very clean. It is a quiet and calm hotel surrounded by a lovely village, fields and nature.

The views from the room and the attached balcony of sunset over the nile was fabulous. Amjad, the owner, was a gem of a person - good conversations and always ensured we got packed breakfast if we had to leave early. The rooftop terrace is a cool location to soak in evening sunset view, don't miss it. Plus, the people on the island are very friendly and gives you the feel of staying in a quiet village.

After the cacophony of chaos that was Cairo and Aswan, El Prince was a much needed retreat. Although you can still hear Aswan in the distance, the island is super peaceful and calm. The food was good and freshly made and the staff were so SO lovely and helpful and not pushy. And the terrace has a wonderful view. As a solo woman traveller I felt extremely safe and comfortable here, when I haven't elsewhere. I was tempted to stay longer than my 2 nights. I was worried about staying on the island for ease of tours but there was no need as they can easily organise everything for you and take you to the shore in their boat. They also organised me a great cruise to Luxor at a great price. I would HIGHLY recommend.

It was super great guest house I ever stayed in Egypt before. The owner was very kind and friendly. Facility is perfect. I could cook the noodles and make tea or coffee. The toilet was super clean and hot water was also perfect to get shower. They offer one paper tissue and soap. bed cover was clean and two towels are provided. We had to take off our shoes outside, it could make room and house most clean. so I was really happy. Breakfast was also perfect. and you can eat dinner if you want to eat. it costs upper 100pound. and I think the cost will be reasonable. The location is near ferry but you can get confuse because it is different from google map. you have to go 3VRR+W5M Aswan 1 this pin. and then you can arrive very well without confuse. Totally great guest house. I absolutely recommend to all.

It was a great decision to choose Elephantine Island and Kosh Royal House for our stay in Aswan, which was a nice home away from home. Jemal met us at the ferry and took us through one of the two Nubian villages on the island to our home. An extremely pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful man with whom we had excellent conversations. The house is clean with an exceptional terrace on the roof from where an exceptional view of the surroundings opens up. This is where Jemal served the best breakfast on our trip through Egypt. His son Mohamed organized a trip to Abu Simbel for us at a reasonable price. Jamal suggested us an excellent restaurant - King Jamaica, where we had excellent camel tajine and heavenly good mango juice. Three days on the island were truly unique - peace without traffic, friendly locals, playful children in the streets... I left with tears in my eyes. Thanks Jamal

Jamal is such a kind and generous host. Elephantine island is so charming and relaxing and a 5 minute ferry to the rest of Aswan. His place was clean, comfortable and had an amazing local feel. He walked us to his friends restaurant for dinner and sat with us and chatted while we had breakfast. I’ll stay here every single time we come to Aswan. Amazing value for the money and an amazing experience. We left so happy and relaxed.

The Owner, Mr. Gamal, is suh a wonderful man, they hosted us like family members. They acted on a very short notice, 1 HOUR, and we found the room clean and spotless. The room is very comfy, the Wi-Fi is fast and efficient, the roof is amazing night and day, and we had the most amazing nubian breakfast from auntie Mrs. Gamal. What and amazing experience.

Royal Kosh is a place on Elephantine island, very clean and convenient. The owner Jamal was really helpful, his wife prepared the best breakfast and we had a very well prepared and tasty meal on the terrace of the house in the evening. I recommend the place
