Just back from a wonderful long weekend in Bilbao. Travelled from Cork to Bilbao airport on Friday-quick convenient flight just 1 hour 30 minutes got 3247 bus to city and took taxi to hotel. Quick efficient check in very friendly and helpful. 77 bus to old town, mercado or city centre right outside the hotel door runs every 15 minutes. Hotel is 3 or 4 stops to mercado and old town for lunch or brunch or evening pintxos. Lovely breakfast or pint is in the hotel bar- great friendly service for coffee, tea or croissants also. Large clean rooms with lovely shower and en-suite. Very comfortable twin beds and air con in room. Very highly recommended. Bilbao is a wonderful friendly city with lots to see and do- Guggenheim museum is a highlight also went to an Athletic Bilbao match, walking tours of new and old town, boat trips up the river, great food, short hop on a bus to San Sebastián great break. Easy access by car from and to the highway , clean , spacious room , excellent staff , comfortable beds , strong WiFi , clean and large bathroom , water refill fountains in the hallways including sparking water , available parking in the hotel and at public parking behind it (with fees ), easy access to old city by walking and close bus stop . The breakfast buffet is exceptional , one of the best I tried in spain, freshly prepared dishes , variety and flavors. The bakery at the restaurant and the coffee shop deserve a special recognition!

We loved our room here - it was very spacious, funky decor and very comfortable bed. The bathroom was also spacious and looked very modern. Parking is available in the hotel (extra cost) but access is very tight and we had a smallish car. It is a 10-15 minute walk down the hill to get the “old town” which has lots of restaurants/bars etc. Getting back is uphill. It is conveniently located to the freeway, but there is not much in the immediate vicinity in terms of shops, restaurants etc. If you are arriving by car - this is a great hotel to stay at. Staff at reception were incredibly friendly and always greeted us whenever we came in or went out - much appreciated. Another big positive is that there are water refill stations on each floor - so you can refill your water bottles as needed - chilled filtered water which was much needed during the hot weather - a very practical way to be eco-friendly saving all those plastic bottles ending up in landfill !

Lovely hotel in excellent location for getting around Bilbao. Everywhere in walking distance.Bus stop outside if needed. Clean, bright and spacious rooms with large bathroom. Friendly staff, we didn't have breakfast but restaurant very good one evening. Bar prices very good and staff interacted. Coffee pod machine in room replenished daily and fresh chilled water free in corridor appreciated

Spacious and comfortable room. It was spotless clean. The breakfast buffet was impressive, with live cooked pancakes, tortillas, eggs. The gym is spacious with modern machines

The family room was clean and spacious. Divided in two parts by the sliding door so the parents could have privacy. The bathroom had a bathtube with hydromassage. Quiet relaxing after a whole day driving. The restaurant that belongs to the hotel had very good food and very polite staff. Breakfast the next day was also good, a lot of choice. The hotel is not the cheapest one but our stay was very pleasant.

I loved every minute at Mondragon Hotela. The entire hotel was recently renovated and it shows, with a clean and beautiful atmosphere. The staff was amazing, very friendly and helpful. We needed to arrive a bit after 23h, we called explaining the situation, and they kindly waited for us. They even requested our IDs via email to start the check-in process, so we just had to get there and receive the room kees. Thank you Virginia for all your help!

Located close to the city center, easy to find, friendly and helpful staff. Can't comment on the breakfast or parking, didn't need one. Room clean, bed comfortable.

Everything was great! Location, cleanliness (whole hotel smells lovely), staff, bright and soundproof room, spacious bathroom and very comfortable beds. Breakfast was included, basic but good selection. Free hot beverages in the reception. Location very close to great bars with pintxos and very close to the mountains.

Everything was new. Great central location, very very friendly receptionist, good beds. Good food at the restaurant, the waiter was very friendly and funny. He gave good advice and contributed to make our evening great, despite our tiredness. Ideal for our short stay.

the hotel, actually I would call it a pension, is all about its view to the atlantic ocean. And this is really brilliant !! Just to be aware of - the rooms are pretty basic, nothing special, also no fridge and minibar. But all clean and tidy. There is no bar in the hotel but at the very friendly receptionist you can get drinks and sandwiches. Breakfast is a bit small and actually lacks choice. What is really great is the view from the hotel and the garden straight down on the ocean and on the vilages there. Also a nice walk behind the hotel into the mountains leads into really rural quiet basque villages ...superb ! You need a car when there ! There is a brillinat small beach there, it was not crowded even in august, but you need to drive ! In summary a great place to enjoy the surroundings, whilst the hotel itself is limited. Some of the staff very friendly (the blond receptionist), others less. Highly recommended !

We actually have been drawn to the Gametxo hotel because of its remote rural location and the promised views of the Atlantic. And we have not been dissapointed during our 3-day stay! Our room was spacious, clean, with a good bed, nice balcony and a very good WiFi connection. The hotel staff was very friendly, the reception staff speaks English and has a lot of usefull information to share (nice beaches, good restarants, etc). It is indeed not easy to find the hotel if you come via Ibarrangalu as we did, but there is an easier route to the hotel: coming from Guernica take the BI-2238 towards Gautegiz-Arteaga, then take the BI-3234 towards Kanala/Laida beach/Laga beach, drive pass Laida beach and around 1/2 minute later you will see a bus stop & sign for the Gematxo hotel on your right hand side (follow the road up).

Take a decent map to find this place but when you do it's well worth it. Tremendous peaceful spot high up on a hill with fantastic views. Very nice clean and tidy rooms and lovely helpful staff. Food arrangement are a bit strange. Although a very nice breakfast is provided any other food is knocked up on an "as required" basis (and ours was defrosted and "cooked" by the receptionist) for consumption either in the grounds or in your room. Very basic menu. There are other restaurants in the area but you need to drive out and none open, as is the case in Spain, until well into the evening. There is also no bar, beer comes from cans via a drinks machine! Not the cheapest of stops but I'd certainly go back. If it had a bar and restaurant it would have scored a 5.

The views from the hotel are wonderful and very relaxing, in my opinion the best thing about it. The rooms are clean with plenty of space. The place is very quiet and there are few houses but no restaurants nor shops around and of course you can't and shouldn't get there without a car. The breakfast is expensive (7.70euros) but tasty. The staff is very helpful specially Immanol. The wifi was a bit annoying because we had to log in every hour or so. Very recommended if you want to relax and enjoy the basque landscape.

We enjoyed staying in this lovely old building which has quite recently been refurbished to a high standard. The owners were extremely welcoming and helpful. Toiletries, a kettle and small fridge are provided along with bottled water, tea and coffee for the first night. (I expect we could have had more had we asked.) The decor was stylish and everywhere was scrupulously clean. The view from our terrace was simply amazing but could also be enjoyed from the dining area terrace. Both have comfortable seating. The continental breakfast was good and plentiful, the freshly squeezed orange juice being a highlight. We originally booked a suite which would have been more suitable (spacious) for our 3 night stay than the smaller double which was the only one available when we had to change our dates. However, the bed was comfortable and the shower was a good size. Parking in the garage is tight for a long car but we were given helpful guidance. A lift straight up to our corridor was a bonus. The hotel is directly outside the gates of the village and the bus stop is just a few steps away. We would definitely stay here again if returning to Laguardia.

This is a delightful hotel , very modern and spotlessly clean with comfortable beds and the views from our bedroom terrace were amazing . There are several public terraces for sitting or sunbathing . The hotel is literally across the road from one of the gates into the pedestrianised walled town . There are numerous cafes / restaurants. And Bodegas so you are spoilt for choice for lunch or dinner. The hotel staff are all very welcoming and helpful , Highly recommend visiting LaGuardia and stay in this hotel if you are looking to visit this area of Rioja

Perfect location, possibly the only hotel with its own parking garage that has direct access in to the hotel via a lift so extremely convenient considering all other parking options are outside the walled city making traveling with luggage a pain. THE VIEWS wow! Coffee on the terrace in the morning watching the sun rise is magical. The hotel was recently renovated and really nicely done. Fantastic value for money overall. Can’t fault it. We visited many of the towns across Rioja and we realised Laguardia was definitely the right choice as a base as it had a nicely lively vibe every day, plenty of bars, restaurants and small supermarkets, compared to other small towns which felt completely closed and nothing really going on other that pre book wine tours.

The views are beautiful and the property is very well kept. It’s been in their family for over four generations and the new generation has done beautiful work to restore it. The staff could not have been lovelier or more accommodating, and LaGuardia is a wonderful town to visit in the Rioja. The room was spacious and clean, with beautiful vista off the balcony. Breakfast, while sparse, was tasty and the orange juice was fresh squeezed and very tasty. We are so grateful to the staff of Hotel Pachico and can’t speak highly enough of our short stay. We only wish it could have been longer!

Perfect. Laguardia is beautiful, there’s enough to do for several days without using a car, the hotel parking is some of the best (easiest) in Spain. Hotel Pachico is comfortable, modern and immaculately clean. Staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful. Breakfast has to have some of the best views anywhere… My second year at Hotel Pachico. I’ll be back.

The staff were pleasant friendly and helpful. The room was spacious with a quirky square glass shower cubicle in the bedroom. Coffee facilities and a jacuzzi bath in the room. Comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast. Lovely modern accommodation. Great view. Quiet

Amazingly helpful and kind staff who made the stay very special and comfortable, and gave lots of advice on things to see in the area. The hotel is beautiful and stylish, and the room was incredibly cosy and comfortable with its own jacuzzi bathtub and views of the hills behind the hotel. The hotel restaurant with views over Bermeo and the sea served the most delicious food we ate throughout our whole holiday.

Photos of this hotel doesn’t do it justice. It was very beautiful, the rooms were large and spacious and very comfortable. We ate at the hotel for dinner and food was excellent. We had the option of having breakfast in our room which was very comfortable and again food was very tasty. Staff were friendly and very helpful.

Newly renovated rooms, many details given attention to, a delicious kitchen for both breakfast AND dinner with a wonderful and reasonable wine selection! Your hosts treat you as family and have a lifetime of knowledge of the area. There are grand plans to enhance the property with Bike storage and even a pool one day, but in this moment it is already luxurious. Perfect sanctuary’s for exploring rural/beach Basque.

Everything about this place was amazing. From the moment we arrived we felt welcome and relaxed. The staff were very lovely, friendly and helpful. The location is stunning and the place is beautifully decorated. We enjoyed the breakfast and dinner. Both of exceptional quality We are so happy we discovered this gem. Would definitely recommend.

I don’t know why this hotel is only rated 2 stars, it deserves to be at least 4 stars. The building is beautiful and modern, with a lovely sitting room with fireplace, and a small kitchen where you can prepare snacks for yourself, or have a drink or a glass of wine (on the honor system, you make note of it and pay when you check out). The rooms are large, modern, very clean, nice big walk in shower. Ours had a large balcony looking over the surrounding vineyards and down to the sea. The hotel is situated just outside the town of Getaria, in a lovely hillside setting. We did have some trouble finding it the first time as our car GPS sent us to the wrong San Prudentzio, and though we could see our hotel across the valley we had trouble finding the road to take us there. Once we found the hotel we realized it was worth the trouble to get there. The staff were very helpful, recommending area restaurants and making reservations for us, also pointing out places of interest in the area. It was easy to get to San Sebastian and also Bilbao, and lots of interesting towns in between. The breakfast was included, with a large selection in a buffet, plus freshly cooked eggs and bacon if you wanted them. There were lots of good restaurants in Getaria, no more than 5 minutes drive away. I would highly recommend staying at the Hotel Prudentzio if you are coming to the Basque area of Spain.

This is a stylish,calming, quirky place to stay, we loved it! There are mid distance views of the sea from the terrace. We had a lovely bedroom with huge comfortable bed, great shower and balcony ( also with views of sea) Everywhere was spotlessly clean. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful, great homemade tortilla! We ate in for dinner,you can choose things from the fridge and microwave them then fill in an honesty card as to food and drink. Definitely recommend

My stay at the Hotel San Prudentzio was simply wonderful. The rooms are bright and fresh, the views of the vineyards and ocean are picture perfect, and the level of service was outstanding. Located a few minutes outside of the town of Getaria, the friendly owners have created a relaxing retreat that is an amazing value for your money. The hotel's details have been thoughtfully considered with beautiful decor, huge windows, relaxing music in the public areas, delicious homemade breakfasts, and a lovely deck looking out to the sea where you can enjoy a coffee or the hotel's own Txacoli, a crisp white wine made from grapes grown right on the property. This is definitely one of my all-time favorite hotel stays. Highly recommended.

What wasn’t to love about the property? The view from our room was outstanding. The vineyard, the ocean and lighthouse in the distance, just stunning. On top of just the view, the homemade breakfast every morning for an incredibly reasonable price. Fresh squeeze orange juice every day. Fresh cappuccino or espresso when you want them. And the self service bar and snacks area was a nice detail that helped make our stay feel like we were at home.

A top quality boutique-style hotel. Rooms are clean and attractive, light and bright in style, with nice fittings in the bathrooms. Very nice ambience overall. The simple, but very good quality, breakfast is excellent. Lovely views of the coast from the rooms facing east i.e. towards the town of Getaria. Views from the rooms to the rear are slightly less good but still have sea and vineyard views. A very comfortable and welcoming place to stay.

The architecture is stunning and really worth a visit but not sure if worth the money of staying at the hotel. Most of the staff were really quite bored and unwelcoming which is a little bit unexpected given the fact that we are in Spain and the level of the hotel. The rooms are large (in particular our bathroom was almost a room on its own) but gave a feeling of emptyness and you could almost be in a motel somewhere in the US instead of a 5 star hotel. The spa is pretty and there is a powerful jacuzzi but the swimming pool (only indoors) is shallow so you can't swim properly. We dined at the Bistro which was also a disappointment - some of the dishes were poorly executed and the flavors did not really work together. Again also at the Bistro (which is also where you have breakfast) the staff is not really helpful at all. The winery is a nice thing to tour as it seems to be really state of the art. The minibar was quite expensive - for example a water or a small coke are priced at 6.5 Euros each. The overall impression was that they build this amazing infrastructure and then left it to be managed by a corporate organizations that do not really care about the customers.

So after three unexpected meanderings accasioned by the difficulty of finding its front gate, you finally cautiously drive up a short shrubbed driveway that opens up to an eye-opening view of the Frank Gehry architectural gem that is Marriott Bonvoy’s Luxury Collection finest hospitality property in Spain’s famous winemaking La Rioja region. Built in Gehry’s signature asymmetrical style of his favored steel-and-titanium panels and tiles, this 61-room establishment is settled within the premiere Marques de Riscal winery’s City of Wine bodega showcase. Its splendid modernist styling and luxurious furbishings made it a perfect 5-day base camp for our full bore explorations of the Rioja and Spanish Basque regions. The vastly spacious Riscal Suites, especially the bedroom loft with vineyard view, provide ultra-comfortable quarters to retire to after exhausting wine-tasting, tapas-devouring, site-trekkings days of touring. The front desk staff is remote and not exactly customer-friendly, but the restaurant and other service staff make up for it in their friendly attentiveness. Plus, the onsite bodegas wine tour and the Michelin star formal restaurant make it a good complement to your experience of these great regions of northern Spain.

Room was amazing with a huge terrace overlooking the village and winery. Breakfast was lovely with a huge selection of varied food delivered to our table, no buffet here! Reception and hospitality staff were friendly and helpful (especially Luis!). Complimentary wine tour was fun and informative and the tasting at the end was wonderful. Spa was relaxing and again the staff really friendly and helpful.

Had this hotel on my bucket list for a while and it didn’t disappoint. We stayed in a premium spa terrace room which had amazing views! All the staff were friendly helpful and cheerful - especially in the restaurants. We did the wine tour which was included in the stay which was excellent - the guide Jose brilliant and enthusiastic. Breakfast and our meal in the 1860 restaurant both of a high standard and the portion sizes very generous. Many thanks for a memorable stay.

It's an authentic building in the city center. The room was spacious. We had the superior jacuzzi room. There's also a bar in the hotel with a small terrace at the front. The wine cellars are also in the basement. It's worth a visit. We had breakfast there, which was fine.

This hotel is truly the perfect home base for exploring the Rioja region. It's located in a charming hilltop town filled with dining options and historical landmarks, making it a delightful place to stroll and explore. The hotel itself is exceptionally comfortable. Our Superior Room was spacious, featuring a separate toilet and bathroom, a large walk-in closet, and ample drawers and cupboards—ideal for settling in for a few days. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the rain shower and hand wand had perfect water pressure, the towels were soft, and even the hairdryer was excellent! There is even a central covered courtyard with comfortable sofas to relax upon. The on-site restaurant was outstanding, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast included a small but high-quality buffet, with the option to order eggs or an omelet cooked to order. We were especially glad to have four nights here. One note for future guests: we initially reserved the large room shown in the photos with a balcony. While beautiful, it only had a large jacuzzi tub with a handheld wand—no shower—which didn’t work for my husband. Fortunately, we were given another spacious and comfortable Superior Room that suited us perfectly. Rooms toward the back of the hotel were particularly quiet.

The hotel is situated in an excellent location right in the centre of historic Laguardia in Rioja Alavesa within the pedestrian-only town walls. Free parking is on the outer side but within easy walking distance. The staff were friendly, efficient and approachable. Mar on Reception was very helpful. Andrea, also on Reception, and particularly Diego went over and above to help my husband. He wasn't well and they made huge efforts to phone and organise for him to visit out of hours a doctor who came specially to the town clinic. Diego even took us there in his time off. The hotel itself is traditional in decor and the restaurant quite formal in appearance but the waiting staff were friendly. Breakfast offered good coffee and the usual choice of eggs cooked to order, cold meats, pastries and juice. There is a wine bar for drinks and pintxos in the cellar of the hotel and guests are offered on arrival a token for a free drink and pintxos one evening. There is also a welcoming bar and seating area in the front reception as well as tables outside. With no traffic the area is good for sitting with drinks or a meal enjoying the atmosphere and watching the passers-by. The rooms are large and traditional but the shower area is attractive, modern and clean with great water pressure. We had a room facing the covered inner courtyard which was very quiet and the bed very comfortable.

Recent 4 night stay. Our superior room was spacious with plenty of room to unpack and hang our clothes. The bed was large and very comfortable. The large walk in shower was great, plenty of hot water. Towels were changed daily and the room was extremely clean and beautifully furnished. We ate in the restaurant twice. The quality and choice was very good and great value. The waiters were friendly and helpful, suggesting local wines to accompany the dishes. The breakfast offered a wide choice to suite most tastes. One of our group is coeliac and every morning there was gluten free bread available. A free drink and pintxo in the cave below the hotel on our arrival was a great welcome. In summary, a family run, extremely friendly place to spend a few days. Highly recommend a visit.

Location was great, there was a forest behind the hotel so great for walking and very peaceful. Room was comfortable and clean and lovely views of the trees. We enjoyed the breakfast, good selection and all fresh. 10 mins taxi into the old town of San Sebastián, very easy to get a taxi or walk. Very reasonably priced for a more luxury hotel. Staff were very friendly and welcoming.

This is truly an exceptional hotel. I loved its proximity to the forest, which was healing and relaxing. Our room, a junior suite, was spacious and beautiful. overlooking the trees. The meals were wonderful, both dinner and breakfast. A short taxi ride took us to San Sebastian, which is a lovely city on a strikingly beautiful harbor. I highly recommend this small, luxury hotel, and would love to return.

Amazing hotel. The staff were brilliant, friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and with good facilities. The spa was fantastic. Although the location is out of town, there is a regular and frequent bus service to the centre. The breakfast was one of the best we have experienced and the dinner was also very good. Special mention to Patricia, Borga and Laura.

Welcoming and helpful staff, very nice, comfortable room, very clean, quiet. Great location at the edge of the historic old town, which is charming. Close to the Camino, if you are walking. There is a terrace with beautiful views of the beach, where we had a picnic dinner. It looks like some of the rooms have that same view.

The location is perfect. Very nice and helpful staff, friendly and ready to give us indications for food, visits around, parking... everything. Very clean, too. Breakfast at the top terrace was amazing for the view and the delicious cheese n onion omelette they made for me. A place to come back.

The hotel was absolutely fantastic, a beautiful hotel with charming characteristics. We were greeted by a lovely lady who was really friendly and helpful after walking our shortest day of 4 hours on the Camino Trail in torrential rain and she even offered to order takeaway for us. The entrance way was welcoming with a mix of wood and stone and it had a warm cosy feel. The room had everything in it that you needed with one of the best showers I’ve come across and such comfy beds. Breakfast was in a beautiful room with a gorgeous terrace overlooking the sea.

A beautiful family owned hotel on the edge of the old town. Friendly staff, great shower and facilities. Breakfast was home-made by 'momma' and the majority of staff were friendly and helpful. Close to the Camino del norte path. After walking all day the shower was excellent to relax in. They have a lovely terrace overlooking the ocean.

Hotel Carlton is lovely. If you want to read a book in the lobby, there are many comfortable areas to sit in. The bar/cafe is right there for a cup of tea of a drink and snack. My room was beautiful, with a comfortable chair, good pillows and quite a nice bathroom! The staff was very helpful to me. The location is good, walkable to the Guggenheim and the Old Town. The Metro is steps away from the hotel, and you can take it to the beach in Getxo. The Metro is clean and easy. The food in the neighborhood was great. Bilbao is an easy city to visit, very walkable. I loved walking across the bridges.

Uplifted elegant feeling in the architecture, design and interiors. Beautiful creative fresh flowers spacious salons for reading or relaxing. Room was comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was great with very attentive staff. All staff attentive and accommodating.

Centrally placed; the old town is 15 minutes walking distance away. There are a lot of restaurants within a short walk. Our room was spacious and very comfortable with an excellent bathroom and shower. The public areas are superb and very spacious. The staff were welcoming and very helpful. Our car was parked in the secure underground car park but it was quite expensive.

Perfect location to visit all areas of Bilbao. Plus from the airport on public bus took just 15 minutes. Hotel is fabulous, room 619 was enormous, luxurious and the bed was so comfortable. Room with city view and very quiet. Balcony had fantastic views of the city.

Loved its location, so central, everything was walkable. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the rooms huge, the shower fab! The breakfast was amazing, a wide variety of options & the breakfast room was run like clockwork.

Hotel rural pequeñito, decorado con mucho gusto, con camas súper cómodas, desayuno exquisito (ver foto), una piscina pequeñita en un enclave de vegetación precioso y una joven en la recepción absolutamente encantadora. Detalles no perfectos de nuestra habitación con jacuzzi : tiene solo una pared para separar la zona de dormitorio del servicio, no hay puerta, el lavabo está enclaustrado de manera que solo lo puede usar una persona cada vez y el balcón no tiene unas vistas maravillosas. Totalmente recomendable, a pesar de esas cuestiones.

The hotel is an excellent location, in a lovely quiet space just outside of San Sebastian. There great connections to roads and public transport. The staff were so welcoming, helpful and did all that could to accommodate our needs, even providing breakfast at the last minute. The hotel was very clean and well looked after. The beds were comfortable, a good size and the shower facilities were excellent.

Beautiful hotel and surroundings. Very comfortable and stylish rooms. Really friendly and welcoming staff. Safe storage for my bicycle. Thoughtful touches like nibbles and tea/coffee for when reception was closed. The breakfast was exceptional!

Great location for cycling down into the centre of San Sebastian, truly amazing breakfast and a swimming pool to cool down in after a long journey. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and our bedroom was quiet and comfortable and looked down into an orchard.

Very good option to visit San Sebastian, in a quiet location with easy access to the city.. Spacious and comfortable room and bathroom. Great breakfast with salt and sweet options. Fresh apple cider from the property. Excellent staff. Will return for a longer stay.

The staff were super helpful and very dog friendly. There is a very large car park right next to the hotel with wonderful views toward Bilbao. The food menu in the restaurant and the choice of wines offered were very good and very reasonably priced. There was an extensive range of food available for breakfast. Our bedroom was larger than ones offered in modern hotels.

Beautiful location and a very stylish hotel. Staff were helpful and friendly. Restaurant dinner was very good. On-site parking and easy drive into Bilbao. Would recommend to anyone visiting Bilbao but not wanting to stay in town. Nice café on site in addition to the main restaurant very comfortable bed and quality linen.

fantastic old palace converted to hotel with massive rooms. Very clean despite the age of the plaster and brickwork. amazingly modern beautifully tiled bathroom. Ours was the budget option and yet it was so big, I only realised there was also a shower behind the bath on the second day. Shower was warm and powerful. Good and generous supply of bath products, bath towels and robes. Lovely helpful team in reception. Driving range is not cheep (3$ for 22balls) but fun and they lend you clubs. Good and enormous mattress. Really close the the airport. Bilbao town is about 15min drive.

A very comfortable stay in a beautiful building, within driving distance of Bilbao. We stayed in the quadruple and double room- both were very large, the quadruple with a great view of the mountains, and the double with a cute patio. The hotel is very pet friendly- with a dog bed and bowl provided in the room, and the bar (where delicious meals are served) allows pets. A special shout out to the staff- who were super friendly and very accommodating!

Excellent sized room (Royal Suite) with a large jacuzzi, very comfortable bed and excellent air conditioning. Lovely personal service by the staff. Good location for hiking or for visiting Bilbao and the surroundings. Excellent buffet breakfast. Quiet and relaxing rural location with good views of the mountains. Some dishes in the restaurant were exceptional in quality. The foie gras mi-cuit and the Iberian pork were just that as was the fish cookery.

It was one of the best places I’ve ever been! The style of the building is very interesting: traditional style mixed with Indonesian elements of decor. Everything made with love! The owners of the hotel is very nice couple was greeting us with a big warm. The room was clean and cozy. The restaurant offers you gourmet cuisine. The hotel has Spa and you can order massages or face treatments. The air is so fresh around so I couldn't stop enjoying breathing! The calm and silence all around!

We spent 10 days here in September (our second visit to this hotel). The location is ideal, being within about 15 minutes walk of the town centre with it's shops and restaurants. It is also perfectly-placed for our needs (as golfers) being approximately 35 minutes from all the local courses. The hotel itself is well-run, with an excellent breakfast (the usual full-buffet selection). The rooms are very comfortable, nicely fitted out, with comfortable beds, room fridge and good bathrooms (shower only). Many rooms have good views over the countryside too. Dinner can be a 'bar-meal' from the snack menu (excellent pizza) available until 8pm, or a slightly more-formal meal in the restaurant. The dinner menu is a little limited but is ok for a few nights. This is the one area we feel would benefit from improvement. The hotel has an excellent spa with a large pool, and a very good range of spa 'jets' jacuzzis and so on, plus steam and sauna cabins. Spa access can be purchased daily, or added as part of your room rate (note, the spa does not provide towels to take them from your room). There is adequate outdoor, free-parking (indoor/underground parking at a cost). We found the staff to be excellent, friendly and helpful too, all of which adds to the quality of the visit. The fact that we stayed for 10 days without issues is commendable, and rare in our recent experiences.

We stayed here for 7 nights. The service throughout was excellent. Very helpful staff at reception and in the restaurants. All we're keen to help, and did so with a friendly manner. The room (upgraded from standard) was spacious and generally very practical (although a bedside table in both sides would be an improvement). The style is older/traditional but also very functional. On one night, the weather was cooler than normal and some heating in the room would have been more comfortable but it was still acceptable and perfectly good the rest of the week. Food and service at breakfast and dinner, were very good indeed. Again the staff couldn't have been more helpful. We used the spa every day. It has a very good range of jacuzzis, jets plus a sauna, steam room, a very warm pool and an 'icy' pool too. All very good. (€22/day if not part of your room cost). Plenty of free parking is available in the hotel grounds. Easily walkable to the town itself. It is quite a steep climb but there is also a lift from outside the town walls, up to the town gate. An excellent place to visit the town and surrounding area.

Very friendly and helpful personnel. Free parking. Very nice rooms and a very good breakfast. During our stay, we had a dinner at the restaurant of the hotel which was superb. Also the personnel at the restaurant were extremely friendly. Nice swimming pool and great location near the center of Laguardia with restaurants and bars.

The hotel is nestled in this quaint little town. The hotel is friendly and accommodating. It has an inviting entry. The reception welcomes you and checks you in. We got a large room with plenty of space to hang out if you wanted and a small balcony. It turns out the room we were given, had a problem with the a/c condensation and was puddling on the floor upon entry to the room. They quickly changed our room with no issue. The breakfast is pretty vast. There are so many choices depending on your preference. We happen to be there during the La Revuelta, which is the Spanish equivalent of the Tour de France. Many bike enthusiasts were staying at the hotel as well, so it got fairly crowded at breakfast. We took a stroll into the main street of Laguardia, which happen to be the route of La Revuelta! The police had roped off the street to allow the riders to pass. Afterwards, we went to the bar area of the hotel which was pretty big. We had some tapas and wine, all good choices. The beds were very comfortable. The hotel is well-situated in Rioja Valley, close to quite few wineries. We enjoyed this hotel and would come back again.

This was just a ferry stopover but we wished we had booked for weeks. The hotel was lovely, clean, fabulous staff, comfortable rooms , we even had a terrace. The beds were comfy, the bathroom spotless, the public rooms delightful. Definitely worth going back

Hotel is a restored medieval castle set in lovely grounds. Our room was in the original tower which also had a roof terrace with great views over the surrounding countryside. Receptionist was very helpful and friendly and spoke good English. We had dinner in the restaurant: good food well presented and served by a delightful friendly waitress. Breakfast was typical Spanish continental breakfast with bread, croissants, fruit, cold meats and cheese.

Charming and historical atmosphere, big and pretty rooms, estate is well kept and the service is good. On the roof terrace you have a stunning view around the area. The restaurant offers a high standard cuisine and the price is decent. The breakfast is good and you have a lot of choices. The quality of the menue is very good and served in a very aestethic way. The waiter who served us dinner was very friendly and interested which I really liked.

the castle was amazing and the staff were superb. The restaurant was excellent, one of the best meals I've ever had and the wait staff were ultra professional and yet friendly and helpful with suggestions. The town is small and not much to do activity wise. My only wish would be to have some type of activities available. We then would have booked for a longer stay because the accommodations are outstanding.

We stayed in a turret room…amazing! Felt like your own private castle. The food was excellent for both dinner and breakfast. If you can pull yourself away from the castle, there are 2 amazing beaches within 10 minutes.

We were there for an overnight stay. The helpful young man, on reception, took us, with our motorcycles, to the secure underground carpark. Our room was clean with comfortable beds. We had breakfast, which was fine. The location was good, central in the main plaza.

The location on the main square, we had a wonderful view from the window. Clean, comfortable rooms. Enjoyed the Thermal Circuit in the Spa. Lovely breakfast with plenty of choices and great bar.

Hotel is located in a really good position, just facing the main square of Orduna. The personal is really nice, and the hotel is really modern and with fine furnished. The breakfast was amazing with a good choice of different sweets and salty foods. Lastly the spa is really nice, with a lot of different pools and treatments.

The staff at the reception were very friendly and always ready to help. We had a small issue with the bathroom, and they fixed it right away. The underground garage was perfect for parking our motorcycle safely. In the lobby, there are vending machines with snacks and drinks at great prices. You can grab a Coca-Cola for just 1 EUR or water for even less. They also offer toast, sweet and salty snacks, sandwiches, and other quick bites. The air conditioning worked great for both heating and cooling. There was a large Smart TV, and everything was peaceful and quiet. It’s a comfortable place that I would definitely recommend.

Very friendly and quick check in , they gave us good information how to get to the city Center, renovated Hotel in a former industry building, comfortable beds and spacious room, new bathroom, we had a small kitchenette and fridge. Parking lot front of the hotel and for free. Within 4 min there was a bus station and you get to downtown within 20 minutes

The beds were comfortable and clean, the staff were helpful with questions and water from the tap was good! Overall the hotel itself inside was pretty good, including the bathroom - had a spacious shower and blue led lights.

It is located in an industrial area, outside looks line and old factory but inside it is modern, clean, spacious, staff is great ALBA was very kind and explained us all the options to visit San Sebastian by bus just 15 minutes from downtown, recommended, forget the surround areas, close to the place there is a good supermarket and some cafeterias, the breakfast they offered is good.
