We were greeted by the receptionist, who was very friendly, as were all the staff we met. When we got to our room, although economy room, it didn’t lack anything. Plenty of complimentary tea and coffee, biscuits, and shower gel. The room and the bathroom were spotless. The room was quite warm, but there was a fan you could use. There was the normal day time noise, but it was quiet and peaceful at night, and I a very comfortable bed. We had the full English for breakfast, which was a good breakfast, and I couldn’t finish it all. There was plenty of cold breakfast, to choose from with toast, tea, coffee and fruit juice. Really good value for money. We would definitely stay there again.

Excellent breakfast and staff at all levels from cleaning and maintenance through to catering, bar staff , reception and management perform 100 per cent to ensure all your needs are met. Beautiful venue for a special event or break away. Dog friendly ( inside peek - your dog will be offered a sausage treat for breakfast !) . Recommend 100 per cent and am a regular visitor from overseas. Impeccable service from every staff member and an exceptional breakfast make this a standout destination. A beautiful, dog-friendly venue perfect for special occasions or a relaxing getaway—highly recommended by a loyal international guest.

The room was spacious and clean. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The breakfast had a super choice and was very tasty. The staff during breakfast were very helpful and full of smiles for everyone. The location was very nice - it was hilly but good for walks. We loved the complimentary wine - a lovely surprise.

We booked in for the dinner and breakfast package, which was fantastic. Our room was so nice, lovely and warm and the bed was big and comfortable. We had a great nights sleep! The food at dinner was amazing, great presentation and tasted really good with plenty of options. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choices of Full English, cereals, fruit etc. The location is so nice also with the village being just down the road and amazing scenery just a short drive out. Outstanding value for money.

Excellent location, we booked the superior double bedroom for one night and there plenty of parking at the property. Check in was quick and the room was huge with shower and a bathtub. The bed was super comfortable and we had an iron and ironing board, some coffee, tea and milk and a kettle for tea making facilities. Staff are very friendly and welcoming.

Great quiet location. Lovely apartment with patio garden and jacuzzi. Well decorated cosy rooms. The living space was a good size with a modern kitchen area. A stylish home from home

Beautifully decorated - wow factor on opening the front door. The kitchen has everything that is needed with a dining room table and seatee. Just outside is the jacuzzi. Extremely comfortable bed. Parking easy just outside the door.

Oh the place is so nice. The accommodation private perfect. And of course the Hottub. It was on of nicest places I've ever booked. Loved it. Would book again and highly recommend.

Lovely apartment very comfy and great standard of equipment throughout. Good details for arriving and while staying, great kitchen / dinning area and fantastic hottub all ready. Good place to really relax on outskirts of Buxton.

Location was amazing, very remote and beautiful views. Cottage was better than I expected and was very clean. We didn't end up using the hot tub in the end but this was very private and looked lovely. Patio area great for the evenings. Host was very helpful and friendly, we had an issue with the pull cord on a light and they fixed it while we were out the next day, no hassle at all.

After reading the reviews about all the 'rules' etc we was a little apprehensive. However when we arrived at the cottage and actually looked at the 'rules' it was just your normal instructions to make sure you looked after the place. The cottage was on a very long, rocky road, but take it steady and it's fine. We was wanting a little get away, away from hustle and bustle, and this is exactly what we got! Lovely peaceful place. Hot tub was lovely! The light was on a sensor and kept going off every 10 sec however, once we found the mood lighting on the hot tub itself we didn't need the main light. The cottage is cosy, modern and clean. The owners was easy to contact with any queries. We went into Leek before hand for a bite to eat before our check in time. This wasn't too far in the car and a lovely little village.

The location was nice and secluded, there is a nice café around to minutes from the property, the property was clean, there was cooking facilities available if you want to cook. There is heating facilities and leaflets in a box with nearby activities that the host has stored for guests, there's a TV in the lounge area with Netflix already connected so you can watch TV in the evening. The property was clean, the property benefits from a hot tub to the rear elevation which warm and ready to use, however I did not use this. There is a key safe at the front of the property which makes things easy as you can arrive, park up in your parking space and go straight in. Clean & tidy I would recommend.

Absolutely amazing, some of the reviews on here can really put you off and make you feel a bit uneasy. But we have just come back from here and to say it was clean, all utensils we needed and more were in the kitchen. The shower is really good and the hot tub is well kept and very clean. Honestly please don’t let other reviews put you off because it’s nothing like what has been written. I would highly recommend visiting.

Willow cottage is a beautiful place, really clean and comfy, instructional for everything you’d need for your stay. Hot tub was amazing and very clean! We came for my husband’s birthday and we enjoyed it all! The road up to the cottage is bumpy but it’s what you’d expect for where the cottage was. Will definitely recommend to friends and family. Will 100% be returning.

Superb stay, the lodge was lovely with everything you could need! Hottub was great and everything spotless. Beautufl view from the lodge and so peaceful. Great location with a short walk to the lake. We will definitely be back.

Wow, what an amazing place to stay and chill out, it exceeded our expectations and was absolutely perfect for us. The hot tub was a must when i was looking for somewhere to stay with our dogs, with an enclosed garden too this place ticked all our boxes. The Lodge was spotlessly clean on arrival, nice and cosy and warm, very spacious, fully equiped with everything we needed (apart from a pair of scissors), the bedrooms were lovely and the added en-suite shower and toilet in the double bedroom were a nice bonus too. The lounge area was very cosy on an evening after walking during the day and the hot tub was perfect for a drink and relax too. Perfectly located for the lake and it's cafe/railway and the hotel a bit further down for a drink and an evening meal. The welcome gifts for us and the dogs were a lovely touch too and the hosts were on hand and accessible quickly. A fantastic place and worth every penny, we'd love to return again sometime. We really enjoyed our first time staying in the lodge, it was beautiful and cosy! You can tell just how much detail the owners put into making you feel comfortable and at home. We loved the little extras, it was clean and tidy and we felt so relaxed. The owners are so lovely and communication was also great! We especially loved watching the wildlife and couldn’t believe how many birds, robins and squirrels there were! It’s so peaceful to just be able to sit and watch. The hot tub was also lovely and warm and we loved listening to the birds and enjoying the calmness at night looking up at the stars. Rudyard lake also has some lovely sights and great walks and we definitely recommend exploring the area, going up into the Roaches to see the lovely country views. Honestly couldn’t fault our trip at all, we just loved it and didn’t want to leave! Thank you so much Dan & Mogs, we can’t wait to come back in the future! Highly recommend if you’re wanting a few days away to relax in the peace and quiet!

This hidden gem exceeded our expectations, photographs on the website don't do this property justice! The lodge is so warm and welcoming, very spacious and the hosts had thought of things we hadn't even thought of we needed for our stay! The view was lovely, it snowed during our stay which was a bonus but it is so peaceful, full of nature and the hot tub is the cherry on top of the relaxation! Listing states no internet access but Wi-Fi is available in all the lodges. Would highly recommend, best place I've stayed in the UK! Perfect for our little family break and will be back, thank you! Also accommodation was spotless!

Loved everything! Lodge was beautiful inside. Everything you need for a relaxing break away! The beds were very comfortable. We loved relaxing in the hot tub in the snow. Tea,coffee,milk,sugar,washer,dryer,towels,shampoo,conditioner,shower gel,body lotion, shower caps, ear buds,dressing gowns and dishwasher, just to name a few things included. Location is beautiful! My 3 pooches loved the private & secure garden. They also had blankets available for ourselves and the 3 amigos :) I highly recommend & will definitely be booking again.

A lovely peaceful location, the cottage was spacious and still cosy with a nice modern bathroom. the hot tub was great and ready to use when we arrived. We can't comment on the hosts as we didn't see them when we were there. But seem friendly enough through emails and update messages.

The property is very clean, sectioned off with a great layout and very spacious! The bathroom and kitchen have modern fixings allowing you to have a home from home with a hot tub! Owners are very friendly and approachable and eager to ensure your stay is the best it possibly could be!

I don’t know what the bad reviews are all about we were worried after paying then read the reviews after but the cottage is clean quiet very nice , we didn’t see the owners once. it’s a lovely place with amazing views would stay again.

The property was in a very peaceful countryside location with great views! The lodge inside was clean and the bedrooms were a good size. The hot-tub was warm and clean and was private. The instructions to get to the location were clear and the road wasn't as bad as other comments implied.

Everything is very well maintained here, the appliances are all very good quality and everything was spotlessly clean. The attached restaurant was fantastic as well, very well priced for what you get along with the lodge itself, not to mention the amazing location, being nestled away in a stunning valley. It truly felt like getting away. We had an issue with our boiler which was resolved with utmost care and efficiency, the staff are very friendly and we were given access to another lodge for when we needed to shower which was not a problem at all (less than a 5 minute walk) and repairs were sorted in only a couple of days (very impressive since their usual contact was away at the time). We were also given heaters should we need them, but it was June at the time so they never really saw use. It was a nice touch though which we appreciated :) On top of that we received a generous part refund for the trouble which none of us asked for or even expected for such a minor issue, they truly went above and beyond for us and evidently strive to do the best they can for people

The facilities on site were exceptional, From the cabins, the bar and restaurant, and two pool tables, the location was excellent, the views was amazing a short distance towards Buxton into the peak District were nothing short of amazing

These lodges were just amazing , location , setting , layout , clean and the staff were amazing ! Restaurant was amazing a food lovely best stake Iv had on a long time !

Our stay at the Pack Horse Inn was incredible. It was a last minute stay on our way up to Yorkshire but we ended up wishing we had extended our stay here. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, providing great customer service throughout our stay The rooms were spacious, warm, cosy and clean and the selection of tea and coffee within the room were welcomed after a long drive. The bathroom was also immaculate and the shower was great. All in all couldn’t fault the room at all. The pub itself was cosy and exactly what you think of when it comes to a traditional country pub. The food was incredible! Such a great menu and far exceeded our expectations. The breakfast also was exceptional with many options and the fact it was included in the price was amazing. We had the eggs Benedict and the bacon roll which were delicious Will definitely be returning.

Old country inn with views across rolling hillsides. Double room with large bed which creaked loudly when you moved. En-suite was a little cramped but had modern shower over bath. Efficient central heating though thermostat had no markings to say how to control. Breakfast was good However fruit already placed in bowls and didn’t spot any Greek yogurt. Coffee was good and the toast excellent. Cooked breakfast was tasty and plentiful but looked as if some elements had been precooked and kept hot Sunday Lunch was tasty and again plentiful served in the dining room or the bar - in good atmosphere Staff very helpful and pleasant. Would recommend staying there. Good car park and there is beer garden for the summer

Great cosy hotel in a beautiful location. We booked a superior room and it was huge with a great view. The hotel was very clean and the furnishings were high quality. The location was peaceful and there was no noise from other rooms deapite the hotel being fully booked. Breakfast was good quality and plentiful - there were vegetarian and gluten free options too. Coffee was very nice! The only thing that could be improved would be a small fridge in the room, or the usual long life milk pods. Milk was provided in a stainless steel flask so stayed cold for a few hours but I couldn't make a coffee when i woke up which was disappointing. Wonderful coffee machine in the room though with a great selection of pods. Free and easy on site parking. Friendly and helpful staff. The pub looked wonderful - we didn't get chance to eat there but I would next time! I would love to visit the hotel again.

Absolutely great place to stay. Rooms are lovely - high quality furnishings and bathrooms, spacious, spotlessly clean. Thoughtful touches like fresh milk in a cold thermos in the room rather than plastic tubs. The breakfast was superb - generous portions, lots of choice, thick cut bacon, fresh fruit salad and proper coffee (a rarity indeed!). The pub food in the evenings was very tasty and lots of choice. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. Lovely views across the hillside. Plenty of parking.

We had a lovely two night stay at the Packhorse Inn. The landlady was very welcoming when we arrived even though it was late in the evening, and the staff were all cheerful and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was clean and spacious and the bar, restaurant and courtyard were all very well maintained. The breakfast was plentiful and there was plenty of choice for a lunchtime or evening meal. All the food was well presented and tasty.
