Everything. Lovely room, truly pet friendly (my doggo even got his own sausage for breakfast :) ), super friendly and welcoming staff, excellent breakfast, quiet location, very very clean, beautiful area…

The breakfast is superb and freshly prepared to order on the day. The front of house staff are great and very engaging. The room was spacious with a great shower and excellent television. Coffee, water, etc., were all made available. The location is peaceful and also aside from the restaurant/bar area.

We had a night away from the kids and The Blazing Donkey was perfect for it, accomodation was perfect, Breakfast was delicious and the staff were polite, funny and nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend it to anyone for a cheeky night off from the kids or for a venue for family gatherings etc really, I can't speak highly enough of this place, Sandra is a wonderful hostess she's on the ball and very welcoming and really takes the time to give you alot of attention without being over the top. Thank you guys for a great stay we will definitely be back!

Beautifully presented and very clean, all you needed for a little getaway. Cosy and comfortable, the hottub was a real highlight! Very close to the town shops, so very practical.

The jacuzzi was super on a cold drizzly day! The house was super clean, there were unexpected kitchen provisions available, the housekeeper Vicky was very welcoming and thoughtful. The price was right for us.

A quiet location just a short walk from the high street with parking. The decor was pleasant and the place was well kitted out. There is a shared outdoor space with jacuzzi but we didn't make use of it.

Tbe property suited our needs and the jacuzzi was a welcomed bonus.

We stayed here for one night - had dinner and breakfast. The rooms were superb - comfortable, spacious, clean and beautifully appointed. The food was excellent - grown or raised locally or indeed right on the adjacent land and in the kitchen garden, and cooked to perfection. And the service was lovely - attentive, warm and friendly. This place is an absolute gem. It's calm and quiet, and quite unlike anywhere else on the island. Strongly recommended.

Everything. This place is not selling itself highly enough. It is without a doubt one of the most luxurious location stays that me and my partner have stayed at. And we are well travelled too. From the pleasant and informative bar staff to the guys who grow all the fresh produce on site for the incredible chefs to produce such amazing high end contemporary plates of food and drink. Yes I said drinks too! There philosophy on food and zero wastage is noticeable in the efforts to provide customers with food that is second to none quality. The rooms are gorgeous as is the entire building and complex that they run. The views from our window over the estuary was stunning and so nice to wake up to. Just wish we had booked more nights here as it was most definitely the best place we stayed on our entire road trip. I take my hat off to all of you that make this place what it is. That includes the bar staff, chefs, treatment staff and lastly the groundsmen which include the allotment and fresh produce guys. You are all a very valuable asset to the isle of Sheppey :).

in a peaceful, serene setting away from it all, overlooking the water. the rooms and restaurant were beautifully decorated, our room in the Coach House was very spacious and supremely comfortable. Food was amazing with plenty of gluten-free options, and the service very attentive, warm and friendly.

Warm welcome on arrival & safe place to store bikes. Refreshing shower. Quiet comfortable room with a fan if we needed it. Lovely fresh fruit and great selection of cereals, breads, juice & coffee for breakfast.

A very comfortable and relaxing stay. Our host was very friendly and welcoming. It was cozy and clean. A lovely breakfast was included. Also very cute little animal friends that like to be petted. I would definitely stay again.

Tim is a fantastic host. Will be staying again if visiting the area. House was very clean, and Tim catered to our dietary needs for breakfast. House is very quiet, with plenty of charge sockets in the room, with a tv that has a fire stick. Fast Wifi also in the room. Has a friendly cat and loves to be petted. The location is perfect near beaches, with free parking. Thank you again, Tim.

Lovely double room with shared bathroom and abundant breakfast. Tim was a friendly host and we felt right at home. The room was cozy and comfortable, the shower was excellent. There was parking on the road just outside. We loved spending time with Louie, the house dog, who was very welcoming from the start.

Everything! The best b & b I've stayed in. I received a really friendly welcome and everything had been thought of to make my stay comfortable and enjoyable. You could help yourself to fresh filtered water, extra tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. The bed was very comfortable and the bedroom itself had everything, extra blankets, extra radiator, fridge, kettle, coffee maker, hair dryer , TV and more.The onsuit was to a very high spec and immaculately clean. All the room was beautifully clean and tidy. Everything was labelled clearly. There was information available to read but it was also explained very clearly by the hosts. Nothing was too much trouble for Paul and Heidi and I saw this with other guests as well. They were fantastic and so very kind, friendly and with a sense of humour. That was the best part especially as a solo traveller. And the breakfast choices were exceptional! I need to go back to try everything else on the menu! Harriet House is very well positioned for access to the town centre and the Marlowe theatre. You could walk along the river to the Cathedral and other sight seeing delights. I will definitely be back...

After parking in the secure car park We were warmly welcomed by Heidi and shown to the delightful Peacock room. A lovely modern, spacious, beautifuly decorated room. With a large spotless en suite shower. Heidi familiarised us with all the details that would make our stay comfortable. We met (Chef)Paul at breakfast the next morning. Another warm friendly greeting. The breakfast is freshly cooked with a lots of tasty choices. Especially the pancakes. Heidi and Paul are excellent hosts for their lovely bed and breakfast. Every thing has been thought of. We had a fun friendly five day stay. We hope to return.

We have just come back from a four day break in Canterbury and stayed at the Harriet House B&B. From the moment we were met at the door by Heidi with a warm and welcoming smile who took us to our room we felt completely at home. The room was warm, exceptionally clean and the beds were amazing we both slept very well and woke up refreshed. The tea and coffee facilities were plentiful with extras such as biscuits, hot chocolate, fresh filtered water and a coffee machine and you could help yourself to any additional items you needed. When it comes to the breakfast we have to say it was the best in any place we have stayed in. Paul the Owner cooks it fresh to order with first class bacon and sausages, fresh mushrooms, roasted cherry tomatoes and beans. There are other hot breakfast choices available as well. There is also a cold buffet available with cereal, pastries, fruit and yogurt. We would not hesitate to recommend Harriet House to Family and Friends and cannot wait to stay with Paul and Heidi again next year.

We loved it! Amazing buffet, variety of hot meal and made to order breakfast was right on time. Heidi was attentive to our needs. B&B is secure and child safe/family friendly. Twin Bedroom and double bedroom clean, adequate, right amount of furniture and compact. Little things that count as a mindful host- ear plugs, shower caps, sleep mask and vanity set. Including the coffee maker in the rooms! Town centre was only a few minutes walk, with lots of stores, tourist attractions and restaurants.

A wonderful stay at Harriet House with Heidi and Paul making it even more fun with their humour and hospitality. The bedroom was spacious, clean and comfortable. The in room refreshments were never ending as you could help yourself to tea, coffee and biscuits whenever you wanted. The breakfast was fantastic with plenty of thick tasty bacon and lovely fried eggs (plus all the trimmings). The location was perfect, a 20 minute walk on the flat ground into the city where you would find all of the amenities. A perfect way to spend a few days in Canterbury.

We stayed in the room “Nailbourne”, which is the ground floor, accessible room. We don’t have accessibility needs so can’t really comment on those aspects, although the bathroom was certainly very spacious. We chose the room because it is on the ground floor & we’re too lazy to carry our heavy bags upstairs! The bed is super comfortable & we had a lovely, quiet night’s sleep. Breakfast was delicious and very well presented. We ate dinner in the restaurant (although with the last booking at just 18:30h on Sundays it felt more like lunch). The menu was varied and interesting and our choices were delicious; the restaurant is obviously a very popular local spot & deservedly so. All the staff were tremendously cheerful, helpful and solicitous; it was quite noticeable how much “nicer” they were than at so many other similar hostelries and we really appreciated that. Lastly, after years of trying to find good quality but not “exorbitant luxury” accommodation, with enjoyable food and private parking that is near the Eurotunnel terminal, we are happy to have finally found our go-to night stop.

Highly recommended, the staff was amazing, the property was amazing, and the facilities and being pet friendly also amazing was booked as an overnight stay after a long journey from the Dominican Republic via Madrid, Paris, and then the Channel Tunnel before a very long drive north to Scotland. The room was so comfortable, the restaurant 1st class and the value for money that included a wonderful breakfast was perfect. 15 minutes from the Channel tunnel so perfect for those who are traveling either way before continuing their journey. Loved it. The staff were amazing..

This is an amazing hotel, we absolutely loved our stay here and highly recommend it to anyone. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, the breakfast was delicious. Unfortunately, we didnt get to try dinner as we were attending a wedding in the area. The room was wonderful, very spacious, clean and comfortable. We'd love to come and stay again sometime. No matter what negative things I report about our stays at M of G, we do genuinely like staying there and will return when necessary. It’s excellently placed for Channel Tunnel travellers (and possibly ferry users too, not sure) and is the best quality accommodation we have found in the area in the 30+ years we have traversed the route to Europe. OK, there are probably some more luxury properties around but we draw the line at about £250 per night unless on a “proper holiday” as opposed to an overnight stop. So, this is a place with comfortable beds, well appointed rooms and a decent restaurant & bar. Although it is a very popular local watering hole and can be busy, we have never been disturbed by noise from the restaurant & bar. Unfortunately the same can’t be said for our last room “Everden” which had the most inconsiderate, elephantine footed occupant upstairs who thumped around both during the night and before 6am when preparing to depart. The other problem with Everden is that it has large picture windows and patio doors so occupants are exposed to the adjacent beer garden patrons (possibly literally exposed!) However, this just means we will avoid that particular room in the future and there are another 7 left for us to explore. One of the main recommendations about this place is the staff; they are exceptional. Always attentive, very pleasant and helpful. It is very noticeable how much better they all are than the average harassed, monosyllabic, surly youths elsewhere

Fabulous hotel such a warm welcome from the host the room was beautiful with everything and more to make your stay the best possible. Shower was fantastic wonderful comfy bed and very quiet room just what we needed after a long journey. Great choice of beer in the bar really cozy atmosphere very friendly staff and the breakfast in the morning was amazing. We will without a doubt be returning thanks for a great stay 😊😊

Our spacious, modern and spotlessly clean Family Room (No:2) had its own front door, a huge double bed (2 x 3ft beds joined together) and another proper 3ft single bed. The room had a clean beige carpet in the main bedroom area, a radiator, 2 chairs and a small table, a wardrobe with about 10 hangers, an iron and ironing board and a large powerful pedestal fan. There was a decent sized flat screen TV on a swivel stand, a hairdryer, an electric alarm clock and power sockets on each side of the bed. The bed and pillows were super comfy, as was the duvet and lovely white bed linen was supplied. The room came with full tea and coffee making facilities, a small electric kettle and biscuits. Our private bathroom was tiled and had a large double walk-in shower, with soap and shampoo dispensers, free toiletries, a push button low level toilet with plenty of soft toilet paper provided, another soap dispenser above the sink and a decent sized mirror with its own pull-corded strip light above. It also had a radiator and heated towel rail and huge soft white bath towels, hand towels and a shower mat. It also had a motion sensor nightlight on the bottom inside of the bathroom door. Outside our front door was an undercover area with astroturf and a couple of wooden benches and tables. Breakfast provided by Tye and Diane was excellent, with tea or coffee, orange juice, cereals, muesli, croissants, ham and cheese, yoghurts and the full cooked breakfast was super tasty too.

The room was comfy and beautifully decorated and very cozy also very clean and was great for my mum who has a disability. The owners were amazing and so friendly and made us feel so welcome. The breakfast was delicious and so filling. We loved our stay and will definitely be coming back in the future.

We arrived late, before 9 pm and the owner was waiting for us and accommodated us. Parking is close. The room was super clean and we appreciate the heating! We were given ice in the room to cool the beer :-). The room had a kettle, tea, coffee (biscuits and chocolates - our children ate them right away). Breakfast in the morning was delicious. Unfortunately we were only there for a short time (stop before the ferry) and we didn't enjoy the friendly owner. Breakfast was great - thank you. We definitely recommend it.

Staff were very welcoming, always friendly and helpful, all adding up to a very enjoyable stay.

This must be one of the best positioned hotels in the country. Its courtyard entrance is maybe 50m from the cathedral, within the Cathedral grounds, which enables the lucky guest to park for a small charge. Add to that some of the best, friendliest customer service we have ever experienced and it was a no-brainer that our stay would be memorable. Our room, on the first floor (of two), had a knockout view of the Cathedral and was very comfortable. Additionally, being inside the locked confines of the cathedral it is quiet at night. We arrived to a lovely greeting at reception and partook of scones and tea in the hotel garden - the weather being beautiful for October! After some shopping and an evening of dinner plus theatre in the town we slept well. Breakfast had a very wide choice and again the service was immaculate and friendly. The icing on the cake was the complementary free entry to the cathedral, which we used before our departure. It lacks a restaurant for evening dining and the bar is somewhat small, but the fleshpots of Canterbury are but a short stroll away. We took advantage of the 10% discount that the hotel had obtained at a very good eatery. Having missed out on Canterbury for some 40 years we must repeat our break and stay again at The Lodge!

We stayed in a twin room on the ground floor. Our stay was faultless. Staff friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The lodge is next to the cathedral and we were given free entrance. There is a car park which can be reserved if they have availability. If not plenty of parking nearby. Breakfast was faultless. Everything you could possibly want from fresh fruit,pastries, cold meats and full English if you have the room. Everywhere was spotless. If you want a central location then this is the place to stay. View from room overlooks the cathedral and we even had a lit up Xmas tree to look out at every eve. I cannot think of one negative thing to say about this hotel. They will look after you well and treat you like royalty. Very environmentally friendly. They are happy to clean your room if you want them to but it makes sense to not change towels etc unless you want them to which they were happy to do. Shower head had a leak which was fixed within an hour.

Wonderful hotel! Really special to be on the grounds of the Cathedral. Comfortable, quiet and clean. Our room looked out on the beautiful interior garden. Friendly, helpful and professional staff. Delicious breakfast served in the lovely dining room with white linen tablecloths and pretty view. Fellow hotel guests were cordial and respectful - which, unfortunately, is not always the case. (One note – do not think it would be best for young children) Would love to return for a longer stay.

Location of the hotel couldn’t be better, magical to be able to stay in the grounds of the cathedral. The rooms were spotlessly clean with everything you could want for your stay. Price of stay includes entry into the cathedral which makes it even better value. We paid £5 each for a small group tour which was excellent, Dr Chris Sell provided so much information that we otherwise would have missed. Recommended. There are many restaurants and bars within walking distance. The hotel serves sandwiches and cakes which you can enjoy in the beautiful gardens. Breakfast was superb- quality ingredients, well presented, professional and friendly service. Couldn’t fault it. Can’t wait to return

We had the pleasure of staying 3 nights at the Sun Inn last week. We were in Faversham to visit family and chose the Sun Inn as it looked like it would be the perfect place for us to base ourselves…. As it turns out we were right, the 3 night stay could not have been better! We were welcome on our arrival by Gemma who checked us in and showed us to our room. When I say room I should really call it a suite because it was magnificent…. So spacious and inviting. It had a lovely cosy feel, plenty of room for suitcases and unpacking and just comfortable in general. Breakfast is a feast! Tea and coffee, cereal and fruit and a wonderful a la carte selection. By our 3rd morning we were just choosing tea and toast but on the other days we chose cooked options, all of which were fresh and tasty. Breakfast was served by Brendan one day and Jo another, both equally professional and welcoming. We did not eat dinner at the Sun Inn as we ate elsewhere with extended family, however when we walked through the bar in the evenings it seemed to be happy and vibrant and the other customers looked to be enjoying themselves. We recommend The Sun Inn to anyone who has reason to stay in Faversham. It has a central location, walking distance to the train, handy car park , walking distance to local amenities and best of all very friendly and helpful staff… so thank you Brendan, Jemma and Jo for making our stay such a pleasure.

We've just returned from a one night stay at The Sun on the special Spring offer which was fantastic value. £125 for a double room with full English breakfast, £25 each towards dinner and a free bottle of wine included. Excellent! We were welcomed by Gemma who was so friendly and helpful, and shown to our Room (No 9) which was wonderful. Really clean, fresh, warm and cosy and an amazing bathroom. Our meal in the restaurant was most enjoyable - served by Jo who was cheerful and chatty - she really looked after us. Delicious food - a great chef with a menu that had more interesting dishes than the normal pub grub items you might expect - and a lovely chilled Pinot Grigio to accompany. A really good night's sleep - very quiet outside (maybe would be noisier in the summer when folk are outside in the garden?) and we woke to a lovely sunny day to explore Faversham. Jo again served us breakfast along with Brendan and everything lived up to expectations. You will not be disappointed with the warm welcome and cosy atmosphere in The Sun. A very special hotel and one we look forward to returning to. Many thanks to all.

The room was beautifully decorated and luxurious. Tea and coffee making facilities really nice and bed very comfy, had the best night's sleep in ages. Lovely quality shampoos and shower gels that come with the room. And very clean, too. By far the best thing was the service. Shazza really looked after me, as I was visiting on my own and made me feel so relaxed and comfortable at breakfast. The evening dinner (Thai Curry) was delicious and cooked breakfast great too. Loved my stay here.

The rooms are amazing (we had room 12 the family room) and once the bar closes at 11pm it is so quiet & peaceful. All staff very friendly and helpful, in this strange Covid-19 world we felt comfortable and always plenty of space around us. In fact the new screens between tables in part of the restaurant looked great and didn’t feel awkward in the surroundings. We stayed on a bed & breakfast rate and the breakfast was great too.

The location was ideal, bang in the middle of everything. Our deluxe double was great, with an added bonus of being a ground floor room with our own little garden, with table and chairs. Room was beautiful, wet room shower (obviously catered for disabled), but was so nice. The bed was a King size and one if the most comfortable beds I have slept on. We had instant access to the bar area which was handy. Lovely white towelling robes although we didn't get to use them. Breakfast was very well organised and very enjoyable. Good adequate size plateful of the English breakfast which was just right, but great menu choice of other breakfast available. Friendly staff and Gemma was lovely and very helpful, nothing was too much trouble.

Location is right in the centre of Whitstable so perfect for pubs and restaurants and about 15 mins walk from the train station.

The size of the room we were in was a classic double bedroom it was really big with a bathroom with bath and shower it was like a flat. It was really spotless. Breakfast was amazing and the bar was excellent great choice of drinks. The staff are amazing and very friendly and attentive. Will definitely book again very soon

Our stay was exceptional. A warm welcome from the staff and manager, complimentary drinks on arrival, a beautifully clean and recently renovated room with a view down Whitstable High Street. The bed was fantastic, and the bathroom was spotless with excellent water pressure etc. Breakfast in the morning was also delicious.

Our room was spotless and very comfortable, we had a lovely bathroom which was gleaming. The hotel in general was lovely with great decor and was in a perfect location, close to the beach and shops, cafes and restaurants. Staff were friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble.

Amazing central location and awesome property right next to the cathedral.We arrived late evening and were greeted by Rob from reception who gave us a friendly and informative introduction to Canterbury and some great tips for our stay. Our room was lovely, beautifully decorated and with a view out onto one of the main cobbled streets with amazing old buildings, shops, restaurants and coffee shops. There was a lovely outside terrace area close to our room and you could see the cathedral top from there. Also there was a nice communal lounge area. We didn't visit the bar as our stay wasn't long enough but it was good to know there was one. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and served in a nice breakfast room. There was lots to see and do in the area. We had a great time and would love to go back!

Despite all three of us having mobility issues, we managed the stairs and corridors, thanks to the provision of well placed handrails and very accommodating, helpful staff.The rooms were clean and comfortable, and they managed to provide twin beds in one bedroom for the two sisters sharing. The continental breakfast though limited was fresh, tasty[especially the fruit salad] and perfectly sufficient for us. Friendly, excellent service in both the breakfast room and reception. Happy to book a taxi for us to a local theatre and we were delighted to have maps and guides ready to hand. The location is amazing, literally next door to the cathedral and with easy access to lots of restaurants/ pubs. We were glad of our rooms at the back on the Saturday night! The major other attractions are in easy walking distance even if you are not that mobile. Tip for disabled drivers - we parked at the Orange Street carpark - literally a 4 minute walk away with a walking frame - booking a parking place for two nights for £17 . Very handy!

This is an amazing spot, basically part of the cathedral's old walked fortification. Historic and fascinating. Perfect room/place for solo traveler/pilgrim backpacker like me. Shared bath was super clean with a fine shower. Bed was very comfortable. There's a rooftop level deck with cathedral views, a small bar on premises too. In a lively area of town. Staff is excellent in every way, friendly and informative. Breakfast was verygood with excellent fresh fruit. Would not hesitate to return.

The hotel is in a great location with views over the sea and is within easy walking distance of the centre of Whitstable. Our superior double room was a good size and had everything we needed. The large double bed was very comfortable. The selection of teas and coffees in the room as well as the coffee machine were a bonus. The availability of a flask of fresh milk on request for the room was a welcome touch. We chose a room with a balcony and the views were amazing. The restaurant menu provided an imaginative choice for dinner and breakfast and the food was well presented and delicious. The restaurant staff were friendly and the service was excellent. All the staff we encountered from checking in at Reception and throughout our stay were approachable, friendly and helpful.

The staff were lovely, very helpful, friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was exceptional, with a wide choice and cooked to order. The room was very clean and well equipped with tea, coffee machine, biscuits, water. We booked last minute and had a city view room as that was the only one left. We were really happy in it but know that the sea view rooms are amazing. The hotel is in a quieter, relaxed location but easily walkable into town.

The hotel were really friendly with our daughter and our puppy. Our room was clean and very comfortable and every member of staff we encountered was friendly and helpful. We had a city view room on the second floor and it was really comfortable and spacious and had everything we needed. The views from the front of the hotel are beautiful. Superb room. Decor wonderful. Bright and air-conditioned. Nice touch of one or two ornaments and old suitcases on top of wardrobe to add to the ambience of the room. Bathroom modern and large. Lovely! Housekeeping was very helpful and friendly and quick to arrive when needed. Restaurant staff friendly and attentive. Food very good. Nothing was too much trouble to adapting menu to suit for dinner and breakfast. The location was top notch for strolling along the front with marvellous views of the sea and beyond with plenty of benches to sit and contemplate. It was the ideal place to stay if single or even for a business person. I had a back of hotel room which was gloriously quiet! Loved this hotel. I hope I have the chance to stay there again!

Stayed at the Marine Hotel to attend a dinner meeting at the Whitstable Oyster Company restaurant. The Hotel was super accommodating in allowing us to arrive early and park in their carpark and return later that afternoon to check in. The accommodation itself was lovely a sea view room with a balcony over looking the promenade and beach. The hotel facilities were everything you could need or want, a coffee shop and restaurant alongside a large bar area with seating inside and outside both the front and back of the property. We were able to enjoy a lovely breakfast on our balcony as we watched the Oysterman Triathlon event happening and when we checked out the hotel were happy for us to continue to leave the car in their car park until we were ready to head home.

We booked through Booking.com after a recommendation from a friend whom we was visiting for a 40th. We arrived to check in @ 3pm & was greeted by a friendly smiley barman, whilst he sorted our room & took up our cases, we sat outside in the lovely beer garden with a cold glass of vino. Our double room was a little smalll but it had everything we needed, including a fan (it was a hot bank holiday weekend). Great facilities, thoughtful finishing touches & toiletries. Bed was extremely comfortable & had the best nights sleep. Breakfast was cooked to perfection & there was a great selection on offer. Coffee was amazing! Our waitress was ever so friendly & helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. We didn’t want to leave however, we will definitely be going back for dinner when we next visit our friend. Thank you so much for our wonderful stay x

Five Bells Inn as a very pleasant atmosphere when you first walk in to the bar/restaurant area. I received a very warm welcome on arrival & was helped upstairs with my luggage. Thoroughly explained dining options for both evening dinner & breakfast. Room was very comfortable especially the mattress (not like a brick like many hotels).The cleaning staff who where in the dinning area in the morning went out of their way to be very helpful while waiting for restaurant staff to arrive with sorting out cups of tea/coffee etc.

The location is perfect and stunning. The Inn itself is a wonderful, historical building. The staff was very friendly and the hotel is dog friendly throughout, so that was fabulous. The room was absolutely gorgeous and very luxurious. We also had dinner and breakfast which were delicious. We would definitely recommend staying here if you want to explore the area or if you are looking for a luxurious night out.

I had a truly wonderful stay at The Five Bells — it was perfect in every way. After a long and hectic day photographing for a Kent-based property developer, it was exactly what I needed to unwind and relax. The atmosphere was peaceful, the surroundings charming and everything was immaculately kept. What really stood out were the thoughtful little touches throughout my stay, which made it feel all the more special, it’s clear that a great deal of care and attention goes into making guests feel genuinely welcome. The breakfast was exceptional — the best I’ve had in a long time. Fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented, it was the ideal start to the day. I’ll definitely be returning and can highly recommend The Five Bells to anyone seeking a calm and comfortable retreat.

The quality of the accomodation is second to none. Quirky rooms and very interesting to stay in. Great quality bed and room. Great attention to detail. Even complimentary port and fudge. The room wasn't too noisy as the pub is a high quality mainly food venue downstairs. After arrival we ventured downstairs. Very good quality food and not stupid prices. Breakfast clearly very high quality local fresh ingredients. Generous portions. Couldn't manage the yogurt and granola as well. Coffee very good also. Staff very friendly. Fantastic stay. this place was unassuming from the outside but the staff were accommodating and friendly, the room was cosy with a comfortable bed and incredibly clean bathroom. The pub serves great food for dinner (I would definitely recommend eating here) and great breakfast. For the price paid, this place has got it right. Just check the location as it was perfect for me who needed to get to the hospital for work (and avoid city centre). I simply parked here and it was an easy 15-20 min walk. Would not hesitate to stay again.

We stayed here for a few days recently whilst visiting friends locally , so wanted somewhere reasonably priced and in the heart of the city, as we had travelled by train. What a wonderful surprise when we arrived at the Hampton by Hilton! First impressions were brilliant - John on Reception was so welcoming and accommodating and helpful with local info. The hotel itself is modern and beautifully decorated (check out the glass panel in the Reception floor showing Roman remains below) and very comfortable. We had a spotlessly clean room on the 4th floor with a fabulous view of the Cathedral. The beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was absolutely amazing - a huge choice of full cooked or continental, cereals, fresh fruits, yoghurts, pastries - also a hot waffle/pancake maker! The staff were lovely too - it was very busy with residents and visitors but their smiles and professionalism stood out - special mention for Robbie, Marta and James who were so friendly. The great staff teamwork was clear to see. The level of cleanliness was exceptional - staff were constantly cleaning surfaces in servery area and tables. For evening meals there is a rooftop restaurant next door which is well worth a visit - amazing views of the Cathedral (and warm heaters in outside area) - early evening cocktail happy hour too ! Another special mention to Ness on Reception when we checked out - excellent friendly service . Thank you to every one - we are already planning our next visit!

A lovely, modern, clean, upscale hotel in an old, creaky, aging but beautiful British town. After 5 nights in old, creaky, airconditionless, tiny rooms, teeny standup showers at traditional B&Bs and Guesthouses...it was an absolute joy to be back in a contemporary present day hotel room with all the modern conveniences such as really hot water in the shower, air conditioning, 24/7 staffed lobby, multiple electric plugs, and an ELEVATOR after walking for miles exploring. PROS; -Reasonable price of $370 for 2 nights Thursday - Saturday. -Large clean modern room(for European standards) -Large modern bathroom with a spacious shower. -Friendly Staff all around -Breakfast Buffet is plentiful and filling, very British. -Walking distance to all the best sights of Canterbury, shopping, eateries, art galleries, and more. CONS: -Difficult to find if you're driving, the hotel cannot be seen from the road and Google Maps might be take you allover. -Parking is at the Whitefriars Shopping Center indoor parking lot, a short 5-8 minute walk but a chore if you have heavy luggage. -£25/$35 day for parking...ugh! Regardless, I highly recommend this hotel, which is especially nice if you don't have a car to park.

Lovely hotel. Very modern, comfortable and clean in a central location (6 minute walk from the cathedral and 15 minutes walk from Canterbury West station). As other reviewers have said, the staff are so nice. They are all very friendly and helpful with a smile on their face. Rooms are clean and comfortable with great showers and comfy beds. Breakfast excellent. You can order pizzas and burgers from the bar.

We had one evening meal in the pub which was also really nice. The staff were very friendly and attentive- couldn’t have had better customer service! Nothing was too much trouble and they clearly were working very hard when dealing with a busy breakfast service. Very close to Canterbury, 10 min drive away. There is a bus stop right outside but due to bank holiday service we didn’t use it. The Evenhill staff were also helpful with providing parking/transport recommendations as well as recommendations for things to do in Canterbury. We would definitely stay here again if we were visiting the area- really good value for money with the friendliest staff that make you feel so welcome.

Breakfast was very good. Smoked salmon and scrambled egg on sourdough bread. Omelette. Room was comfortable and clean. We had dinner and as on our previous visit, staff were very friendly and attentive. The dinner Toad in the hole and fish and chips. were very good. Tasty and hot. Also The Eton mess was superb.

Smallish room however very clean and felt safe and secure. Parking immediately outside was great. Nice touch with the Nespresso coffee machine in the room and milk in a flask was offered at check in- more eco-friendly than the plastic pods. Breakfast was amazing, great atmosphere and lovely friendly staff. Highly recommended.

The receptionist kindly upgraded our room for no extra charge. Our room was tastefully furnished, very clean and comfortable with a lovely shower. We had dinner in the restaurant which was delicious. It was a little more expensive than we’d usually pay but was of excellent quality and well-presented. The dining room and bar area was stylish and comfortable. We hope to visit again when the weather is better!

We love the hotel and have had several meals and evenings here but this was our first time staying . We stayed 3 nights in a room with a bath and sea view. The room was lovely , bright and comfortable . The bed , pillows and bedding were all very cozy and comfortable. The room was so clean and in good order and the little additions of bits left outside the room if you don’t want your room made up was lovely . We had two meals in the restaurant and 3 breakfasts . In all honestly the meal we had New Year’s Eve was under whelming to say the least . The lamb was chewy and the fat slimy but the steak the next day was amazing as was the peppercorn sauce which is fabulous as always . Breakfast cooked by the wonderful Deborah was the best we have ever had in a hotel , consistently great every day and smiles with it , This lady could not be more helpful and is a asset , as to be honest we’re all the staff . There seemed to be a great team atmosphere, like a family supporting each other . The parking is a bit of a pain and I feel it would be better to sell the parking spaces with booking rather than this fighting to get a space if you leave the hotel . All round lovely relaxing , comfortable and lovely place to stay . Thankyou team so much you are wonderland we will definitely be back .

We recently had the pleasure of staying at a charming house adjacent to the main hotel, and it was an experience I won’t soon forget. The location was absolutely stunning, with breathtaking views of the sea and a historic castle in the distance. Waking up to the sound of waves and the sight of the castle silhouetted against the horizon felt like something out of a dream. The house itself was a delightful throwback to the 1960s, with retro decor that was both nostalgic and stylish. From the vibrant colors to the vintage furniture, every detail added to the unique charm of the place. It felt like stepping back in time, yet with all the modern comforts we needed for a relaxing stay. The weather during my visit was perfect—sunny with a gentle sea breeze. It made exploring the area and enjoying the outdoor spaces even more enjoyable. Whether I was sipping coffee on the terrace or taking a leisurely stroll along the coast, the pleasant climate added to the overall magic of the experience. Overall, my stay at this seaside retreat was nothing short of wonderful. The combination of the stunning views, the quirky 60s decor, and the lovely weather made it a truly memorable getaway. We would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique and relaxing escape by the sea.

The room was fantastic with a fabulous view of the sea, very clean. Bathroom was new and clean and room warm. Staff were always helpful, food in the restaurant was very good for breakfast and dinner. As a large group we always got a seat together and felt very relaxed in the bar serving drinks and tea and coffee. Location is great for long walks and the lovely town. Very good for the bus/train service to other towns close by.

We stayed in the Stable room 5 for two nights. The beds were very comfortable, there was tea and coffee making facilities with plenty to choose from including decaf. The bathroom had a very large walk in shower and compliment shower and hand wash gels to use. The cooked breakfast was one of the best we have every had, locally sourced eggs, bacon and sausages all served by friendly Staff. All the Staff we met from Reception to the Breakfast Room were lovely to deal with and made you feel that they were pleased to see you and very helpful with any queries we had. We will be booking again in May and cannot wait to stay again.

This place is a bit special. Very beautiful building and accom units. Very very cute with very friendly staff and exceptional greeting. The room is large and very clean. Quiet and relaxing. Beautifully maintained and presented. Lovely gardens to relax and a great cooked breakfast again served by friendly staff. Short walk to all Canterbury has to offer including the Cathedral. One of the nicest places we have stayed on a long journey in many countries. Congrats to the owners and managers. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Room was well equipped, very clean and very warm, the underfloor heating in the bathroom was a dream. We did have to turn the thermostat down as it was just too cosy! Location although we thought might have been noisy as on the high street was very quiet and so convenient for the station and getting around Canterbury. Breakfast was tasty and the staff were all super helpful. The option of an honesty bar was a nice gesture as were board games and umbrellas to use!

The property was close to shops, pubs and restaurants and a quick walk into the centre of Canterbury. The property was unique with a main house and separate garden rooms. Loved sitting in the garden in the afternoons and access to the honour- system bar in the evenings. Our room was quaint and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the breakfast which included fruit, cereals, tea or coffee, juices, and a choice of hot breakfast items made to order.

The best accommodation ever!!! Authentic old Harry Potter style (Slytherin?), clean, beautiful, atmospheric, parking, delicious and relaxing place😍 Staff - extremely hospitable and friendly especially the young lady who met us on the arrival 🙏 helped us with local navigation, jacuzzi, usb-charger and extra towels. The hotel is well situated in a leafy part of town about 15-20 minutes walk from the town centre, and about the same from Canterbury Christ Church University. It has guest parking at the front and a lovely large lawn+trees garden at the back with plenty of seating to sit in groups or alone in secluded parts. The house is large and airy, an old historical mansion (victorian?) with high ceilings and some original features (e.g. wooden staircase, fireplaces..). We had a good-sized quiet bedroom overlooking the side of the property, with a comfortable double bed and clean crisp white cotton bedding. Plenty of power sockets and good facilities (TV, good wifi, hairdryer, iron, kettle). Bathroom was clean and hot water plentiful (although plumbing showing signs of age). Breakfast was excellent, self-service buffet with wide range of cereals, pastries, fresh and tinned fruit, yogurts, dairy and non-dairy milk, tea/coffee/herbals, and very good frequently topped up cooked food (scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, baked beans, mushrooms, tomatoes, hash browns), toast and jams. Staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming.

We stayed in a dog friendly apartment and it was so clean and tidy when we arrived. We opted to purchase breakfast for both days and it was delicious, and the server was very helpful….and food replenished regularly. Will definitely return. It was the perfect location to access Canterbury, in particular the cathedral which was amazing.

This hotel the food wasn't expensive great prices and was so tasty and delicious, the breakfast loved it had so many options to have, from fruit, salmon, ham , cheese, different jams, honey, chocolate, croissant, yogurts, all freshly prepared. Different juices. Was so tasty would come back all the time to this hotel. Our room was so spacious it was lovely, so clean the beds were clean no dirt loved the decorating of our room and bathroom. We had one big massive double bed and a single bed, slept like a baby and was very comfortable

The Hotel was in a great location, with free parking. Short walk to Westgate area in Canterbury with great restaurants. Great base to see all of Kent. We spent three nights and the staff were amazing, helpful & friendly. The room was very clean and we had a good night sleep every time. The bathroom was in great condition. We even had a bath as it was so cosy. The best thing about this hotel it comes with an amazing steakhouse / carvery. We even decided to eat there every night for dinner as the food was so good and reasonably priced. The Breakfast was very good and they do perfect poached eggs. They catered and took care in allergens and recommend it for anyone who need to eat gluten free. I highly recommend this hotel.

This is a real gem of a hotel in a great location with fantastic staff and facilities. Everyone was friendly, helpful, informative and demonstrated genuine care for their clientele, their comfort and enjoyment of their stay. The room was comfortable and had everything guests might need for a pleasant stay. The breakfast buffet offered both continental or full English breakfast or a combination of both. The English breakfast was freshly cooked to the guest's requirements - totally delicious! Lovely, comfy beds too. Everything worked!

We loved our room. It was #6 on the top floor, overlooking the street. It was very cozy, had enough space to move around, and the bed was large and very comfortable. The bathroom was spacious, bright, and the shower was roomy with nice water pressure. Even with the heatwave in Canterbury, there is a large oscillating fan in the room with an additional bedside fan to keep the room cool. The breakfast part of the B&B was excellent. The space was roomy and bright with so much natural light from the front windows. The menu had options such as Full English Breakfast, French Toast, or a continental breakfast with coffee, croissants, cereal, toast, etc. Of course, you could mix and match, which the hosts were happy to accommodate. The portions were the perfect size and the food was excellent. The hosts were wonderful. They were very polite, friendly, and accommodating, and they made you feel right at home. We enjoyed our conversations with them during our stay. The location is excellent. It's on a main road just outside Canterbury's city center, so it was an easy 10-15 minute walk to the heart of Canterbury. The B&B is also only a 5-minute walk to one of England's top-rated craft breweries - FLOC - which we really enjoyed and ended up there a couple of times. Definitely worth a visit if you like beer. We highly recommend this B&B and plan to stay again in the future.

We had a fabulous stay at the Wincheap B&B. The location was great, just a short walk to the center of Canterbury. Our room was so comfortable and spotlessly clean. There was everything that we could need, from the tea & coffee tray, fresh milk always available, good quality toiletries in the shower room, and the lovely comfortable bed. We parked our car in the Wincheap's parking area for the whole stay, so handy. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, a lovely selection to choose from, using the best produce. We are very grateful to Terry and Chris for being amazing hosts, thank you, we will be back....

The property was immaculate and in a great location for quick walking access to the city centre. It was also secured with a ring doorbell. The room was a generous size and the bed was very comfortable. Terry welcomed us on arrival and was extremely helpful throughout our stay. There is nothing not to like, it was well maintained and in good decor, with a few little extra touches to make the difference. Hand wash and hand cream, shower gel, and hair dryer were freely available. Great to have tea facilities in the room with a added bonus of a couple of sweet treats and a bottle of water which was replenished daily during the room clean. The breakfast was piping hot and cooked to perfection, with free access to continental fayre, fresh fruit and fresh fruit juice whilst waiting for it to be freshly prepared.

Absolutely you can book there, with shut eyes! :-) We truly recommend this lovely B&B in Canterbury! It has parking space at the rear (1st come 1st served), the room we were in (4) was gorgous, spacious with a super comfy bed, even a sofa area and complementary tray/chocolates. The bathroom was spotless clean, great shower pressure and all toiletteries you need. Breakfast is ordered the night before and cooked "minute" with delicious products. Our host Terry has been lovely, warm welcoming and gave us good advice! Definitely highly recommended place to stay!!!

The room was really lovely. Modern and fresh and spotless. Greeted with 2 teacakes and 2 chocolates which was fantastic. Plus they reappeared every day of our stay which was a really nice touch. Breakfast was great. The breakfast room was lovely. Host is fantastic. Parking is OK. It's off the road which is the main thing. The location is good. It's a 15 min walk to the cathedral. Lidl is 5 mins away as is a pub and 2 small shops. So location is good if a little busy. Had a fan and a fridge in the room which was great for the summer. Bathroom was a tiny bit small but really modern and clean and the shower was great. Bed was very firm. But I like that. But that might not be to your taste.

Hotel on a busy road with a small car park enough for about 10 cars. It’s free to park but you will need to register your car in the machine at reception. Lovely staff friendly helpful and professional but the one that stood out the most was a gentleman with a beard working in the dining room, he worked very hard to oblige everyone and with a smile. For breakfast there was a good selection of food, tea and coffee including cooked breakfast very nice, but it could have been a bit hotter. Nice size room clean and quiet with facility for tea and coffee. My only complaint is there was a very small TV and we couldn’t get subtitles which would have been nice so not to disturb the other guest. It’s a short walk to shops/pubs/ takeaways. You could walk into town takes approximately 20 mins but it a very busy road so we preferred to take a taxi’s we used East Kent Taxi’s which we found to be very reliable. There is a Park & Ride at 10 Perch Rd CT1 3TQ it’s about short drive away for £4.00 a day. The pool was a good size clean and a nice temperature there’s two nice changing rooms with showers but no lockers take your clothes with you. They have a small enclosed garden if you wish to sit outside. Would recommend.

Met by extremely friendly staff who could not do enough to accommodate us. Excellent facilities. Everything you need was there. Very comfy bed and pillows. Very quiet although not far off the main road into town which is approximately a 5 to 10 minute walk into the main city center. 3 or 4 shops within 2 minutes walking distance. Excellent local pub about 4 minutes away. We didn't use the pool but looked nice and clean and quiet. There is also a spa in the hotel which I could not recommend higher. We came for 2 nights and extended twice. The staff made sure we kept the same room which was very kind of them. Everything was clean and tidy and If we required anything else, nothing was to much trouble. Breakfast is included in the price. So for the small amount they charge this is certainly the best value you will get local to town. But 100% the staff made our stay so comfortable and enjoyable.

Arrived to a warm welcome and checked in for a 2 night stay. Had a superior room in the main building. Spacious, good decor and quiet. Good size bathroom, but shower lacked power. Breakfast was good and plentiful - hot and cold buffet offering a good choice. Parking is limited when the hotel is busy (spaces for 15 rooms) but I understand there is good availability in the side roads close by. Great location - about 15 minutes walk to the main shops and cathedral. Not that we had time, but the hotel offers a swimming pool and beauty treatment. Would certainly recommend and return when visiting Canterbury again.

Great country estate feeling. Lovely place centrally located to where I needed to be and town. Staff are friendly and go out of their way to help out / advise. Room was awesome! Complete with a jacuzzi.

Our first impressions of this hotel were simply wow. The grounds and building are amazing. It was just as impressive inside. We were both happy that we were staying in such a beautiful place and this continued as we entered our room which had amazing views and was very cozy. Unfortunately this feeling was dampened when we picked up the rooms welcoming pack. In all the hotels we have ever stayed in, never has there been a list of extensive charges for lost to damaged items. It states that if you break or lose items whilst staying or after leaving the hotel your credit card that they are holding will be charged. Isn’t this obvious and expected by the guest? It wasn’t very welcoming. Moving on, our room was very clean but the bathroom felt tired and needed a bit of maintenance done. The toilet seat was loose, shower curtain rail had rusted, window latch was broken. All these things could be fixed at such a small cost. We did point out to reception that the toilet seat was very loose and to be fair was sorted out immediately. One thing for sure about this hotel is that all the staff are very friendly, helpful and are attentive to all your needs. Apart from these niggling issues we would definitely want to return at some point.

Here for two nights whilst attending a wedding in petham So we only slept here and had two breakfasts which were delicious with a few nice unexpected additions like advacdo on sour dough with egg and onion it was really nice there was fresh porridge - pancakes etc all freshly cooked good hot coffee pots and tea etc Lovely grounds well kept Lots of outside sweating areas Large car park No lift to the upstairs bedrooms may be an issue for some. We had room 15 it was very clean well equipped tea coffee facility a fridge iron safe tv windows that open! Heating comfy bed BUT the shower over the bath was appalling no water pressure at all trickle of water 💦 unable to shower in it. Only a liquid soap supplied and a shower cap no other cosmetics🤷‍♀️

Stuff very kind, taking good care of us, helpful with our needs and queries. Dinner again delicious paired with good wines. We get %25 complementary discount on Saturday brunch (first day of our visit) again delicious, full of goodies, desserts freshly prepared. I've been offered vegan meatballs after been asked about my food preferences. Again freshly prepared. Nothing to complain about cleanliness, room either. Coffee machine, kettle, teas and coffee, biscuits were all there. TV, air conditioning enough space for clothes. Bed was very comfortable.

WE booked this hotel for one night pre cruise as it included parking for the 12 nights we were away and meant we wouldnt have a long drive the morning of our cruie. The room was comfortable and clean and we slept well and tea and coffee were available in the room. It was quiet even though there was a wedding on site that night. Breakfast was inluded and was plentiful. we also used the Bella Italia restaurant for dinner that evening. Left a set of keys in tht hotel safe but the car wasnt moved while we were away. INcluded in our rate through holiday was our taxi to the port in the morning with County Taxis. Friendly driver who told us about some sites on the way. On return to the hotel I had to call the RAC as my car wouldnt start and the hotel were hospitable and let us wait around for a few hours. Would recommend the hotel and would definitely stay there again if cruising out of Dover.

Stayed one night before taking the ferry back to France. Checking was friendly and smooth. Because of the platinum status in IHG, upgraded to an executive room. Spacious room with a large comfortable bed, air conditioning, mini fridge, large smart TV and a coffee machine. Hotel restaurant has several dinner options. Breakfast can be busy with some large groups arriving together. We had a comfortable stay and a good food. Recommended.

It was nicely laid out, with different seating areas. A restaurant with a separate bar, where you could take food to if you wanted, and a nice relaxing seating area with sofas and armchairs. You could play games with the family whilst relaxing, and this allowed me to get the youngest to bed without everyone in the room. Our room was nice, clean and cool in the heat outside. The staff were friendly, helpful and the breakfast was delicious with a lot of options.

Breakfast was lovely, quite a large selection to choose from and the English breakfast selection was very hot and very tasty, so compliments to the chef too. The lounge area was spotlessly clean and I loved the small blue horseshoe style chairs so much, I nearly asked the staff if I could buy one haha. Overall honest opinion? I've stayed in more expensive places that were not to the standard of here.

We booked two rooms for a one night family stay. The hotel is basic but had everything we needed and was comfortable. We used the restaurant in the evening and the food (pizza, wrap) was good. Breakfast was also good with plenty of choice. What really lifted the stay was the performance and attitude of the staff. Friendly and really helpful. Attentive at dinner and breakfast. A real effort at breakfast to keep items replenished and make sure people had what they wanted. Just before the end of breakfast staff made sure everyone knew the buffet was about to close, so they could go to get anything else they wanted.

This is a no frills hotel which provides 10 out of 10 service with spotless rooms and good food. The hotel is situated directly off the main road behind the service station, plenty of parking in front of the hotel . It was very warm when we stayed and slept with the windows open throughout our stay and we heard no traffic noise. The staff were so helpful , polite , friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The room was quite large and spotlessly clean as was the en suite , the beds were very comfy,and a tray good selection of tea ,coffee etc There was plenty of hot water and large fluffy towels . The weather was quite warm, no A/C but the large fan was quite adequate. We had breakfast each morning , there was a good selection of hot and cold food and the staff were helpful and attentive. The hotel is ideal as a base for exploring the wider are. Highly recommended and we will stay again.

37th Wedding Anniversary was spent on North Kent coast using this hotel as our base. We’re no strangers to IHG hotels and this one topped the HIE group. Check in was welcoming and friendly. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean, the only downside was the weak water pressure in the shower. Despite not having air-conditioning the room was quite cool and we had two comfortable nights there. Self-service breakfast was one of the best we had at an HIE hotel food was hot, fresh and well-presented. Check out was friendly and this hotel is certainly one to return to.

We booked this hotel as we was travelling down for a funeral of a family member, upon arrival we found it to be really clean and very welcoming. We had booked a family room for 2 nights, which was well priced with breakfast included. Which had a great selection of produce, the team member who welcomed us when we arrived was very welcoming couldn't fault his customer service. The hotel it's self is a 2 floor hotel with stairs only to the 2nd floor. Our room was on the 2nd floor, when we entered the room it was very clean with double bed and a sofa bed, bed it's self very comfy but the pillows could do with being replaced as very lumpy. Spacious shower room, we was reccomended this hotel by my mum who had stayed here a week before. The menu is limited with not much of a choice for kids aswel as adults, but the food was really nice for what we ordered with no faults. Would we return here again? Yes, definitely. Parking was £6 for the 2 nights where you pay when you check in

First things first, the location is ideal and simply cannot be beat. You are right there in the center a stones throw away from pubs, restaurants and shops. (Pro tip: Do not miss the Foundry brewpub for excellent food and drinks!) However, where the hotel truly excels is with their staff. The reception staff also manages breakfast and the bar. Quite a challenge during peak hours, however they more than make do. Whether they are checking you in or making sure you have enough toast for breakfast, they are very friendly and helpful. The same goes for the housekeeping! I was in a deluxe room which is fully carpeted. Not an easy feat to keep clean, however the whole room was absolutely spotless. The room was cleaned daily and more importantly, the biscuits at the coffee and teamaker were also replenished daily! If you’re looking for a friendly and comfortable hotel in Canterbury, look no further. If your budget allows for it, the deluxe rooms are well worth the little bit of extra money. We really enjoyed our stay and I’m pretty sure you would too!

The hotel is in an excellent location on the high street and only a short walk to the cathedral and attractions. It’s close to the train station. We stayed for 2 nights and booked the family room ‘Jane Austin’ which had two bedrooms. The rooms were spacious and clean. The bathroom was big and had a bath/shower which included shower gel. The beds were comfortable but had plastic mattress protectors which made sleeping a bit uncomfortable. There were fans provided but unfortunately the room was very hot. The room we stayed in was very quiet with no noise at all. The hotel itself is a beautiful building and was very clean. The hotel let us leave our luggage until check in which was great. The price included continental breakfast which was really nice. It included cereals, bread, croissants, fruits, cheese, meats etc. The hotel has free wifi, we didn’t get any phone signal at all in Canterbury so this was helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel if visiting Canterbury.

Given this is a 3 star hotel, we had limited expectations. The rooms are small but the hotel is after all an ancient building with plenty of higgledy piggledy stairs and corners. What you might term "character" if you are a glass half-full person. On the other hand the location is unsurpassed in the centre of the High Street 5 minutes from the Cathedral and immediately next door to the Marlowe Theatre, which was our principal reason for being in Canterbury. The entrance and reception area are unprepossessing but staff were helpful and professional. Breakfast is currently continental only (cooked breakfast unavailable) but the buffet was more than adequate in the spacious restaurant area. We also appreciated the small bar for after theatre drinks, discounted for theatre ticket holders. The current problems of traffic in the centre of Canterbury must drive locals nuts. For visitors it's an even greater challenge as diversions leave you puzzled as to where next. We eventually found a car park that charged £ 3.70 an hour which is extortionate. This at least allowed us to find the hotel on foot (3 minutes away) where the hotel kindly directed us to their preferred car park on Pound Lane for a fixed 24 hour price of £ 16. An added bonus was the discovery of a route back to the High Street via a charming park, Abbot's Mill and Orchard, crossing the River Stour.

Booked a single room here for 2 nights in March to catch up with university friends. Greeted by a friendly receptionist and he gave me clear instructions as to where everything was. The lobby was very inviting with lots of sofas, board games and books and was spotlessly clean. My room was small-but that was to be expected- and it was also very clean. Shower had good pressure and the shower gel was nice. I loved that there was a large fan in my room and the window opened. I was at the rear of the property on floor 2 and didn't hear a noise at all on both nights. Breakfast was continental and delicious. A good selection- fantastic think natural yogurt. The breakfast staff were also really friendly. For the location and the price I couldn't fault this place!

We stayed 2 nights and booked a larger room, over a period of nice warm weather. The room was clean, spacious and was nicely decorated. The bed was comfortable with a firm mattress and good pillows. There is no air con but there is a decent fan to use. The shower was a good water pressure and easy to navigate. There was no full length mirror but a nice dressing table with a mirror and hair dryer on the wall. The hotel was right in the hub of the city. So convenient for all the shops, theatre cathedral etc. Despite this we were not bothered by any street noise at night. It’s a short 7 minute walk from Pound St car park (do ask for the parking discount at check-in stage). Staff were friendly. We only stayed 2 nights but they refreshed our room anyway. The breakfast is continental and plentiful with yoghurts, fruits, cereal, cereal bars, breads, croissants and meats and cheeses.

An excellent one night stay. The check-in was very smooth, the staff are very friendly and efficient. Our room was very spacious, airy, comfortable, very clean and very well decorated. The room included an iron and board, tea and coffee were minimal, but adequate for 1 night. The bar area was a very pleasant surprise, very comfortable, airy, great bar service at a reasonable price. Breakfast was varied including a choice of cooked, delicious and plentiful. Free on-site parking was very welcome. I would certainly return if in the area.

Everything was to our satisfaction and more. The staff were very friendly, the shower was amazing, the bed was so comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious and more than adequate. The fact that the hotel caters for one to have a coffee and pastries as a takeaway, was an absolute bonus. We would definitely stay here again when we are in the area, as the location to attractions, restaurants and the beach, was perfect.

We have stayed here several times over the last year. We've always found it to be a clean and very comfortable hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is great and there's lots of choices including much appreciated vegetarian sausages. These are cooked to order. We've also eaten evening meals at the hotel and found these to be very well presented and tasty too. A nice touch is this is a dog friendly hotel and is situated near to Minster cemetery which is an ideal place to stretch our furry friend's paws. Being away from the road it's a bit quieter and has lovely views over Pegwell Bay. Situated on a busy duel carriageway which links the Isle of Thanet with the motorway network, it's conveniently located. The soundproofing is great as you can't hear the traffic with the windows closed. Many thanks for our enjoyable stays and creating very happy memories!

A last minute booking that went very well. The very friendly and helpful welcome, in the clean, well-ordered reception went very smoothly. The whole place was spotless. The well maintained bedroom , with its comfy bed, was equally as super clean. The view over the fields, out the back, were appreciated. The included breakfast was great and hit the right note and why we chose this hotel over others, so we were pleased that we weren't disappointed. All in all, a great stay at a good price. We will stay again.

Looks shabby from the outside, but inside is completely different. Fresh, clean and well presented. Reception area, bar, toilets etc were all clean and comfortable. Buffet area for breakfast, excellent. Presentation of food and beverages excellent. Our room was spotlessly clean apart from staining on settee. A laundry problem we had was rectified immediately. Shower excellent, air con was a blessing and worked a treat.

This Bed & Breakfast was everything a bed & breakfast should be! A very cute and quirky historical home that has been renovated with new bathrooms and showers, the beds were nice and comfy, and the location was truly amazing right next to the gorgeous St. Peters Church. The town of Sandwich is a dream to visit -- what a treat! Marisol cooked up a full English breakfast for us each day with all the trimmings, which was super fun for us as American tourists.

Booked here very last minute with my husband for New Year’s Eve and luckily we managed to get a room. Kelvin welcomed us with open arms (not literally) and a lovely cup of tea, which was very kind considering there is tea/coffee facilities in the room. Kelvin and Marisol were excellent hosts. Friendly and very accommodating/helpful throughout our stay. Their lovely furry friend Marley too was a delight. The ensuite we had was lovely and big and room perfect size for a short getaway. The house itself was very old and the decor was very well suited. Breakfast was absolutely delicious with more than enough on offer. We hope to return!

Stayed on a Friday night as we were at a family do. Perfect for us. Had the twin. Both beds comfortable - one softer than the other. Had everything we needed. There's limited on site parking but wasn't an issue for us as road restrictions finish early evening and there's no restrictions on the Sunday. The owner was attentive and helpful. Information sheet was perfect. The breakfast was excellent!

Breakfast is delicious, outside at the garden was beautiful views, and nice views old history at the houses look like farm, and there have a bath and shower in the double bedroom! Good comforts. Very friendly staffs especially Kevin was the one who always kind I never see staff from other B & B that where I going to different places real shame because other different place from B & B never be other staff like Kevin.

Afternoon tea: 5/5 we were tired so they brought it to the room. So nice of them and had some tasty cakes and fresh scones Dinner: 4/5 the blue cheese salad starter was delicious, although next time I’d advise without the odd salad cream dressing. Main of pork was surprisingly very very good. Hats off. I wasn’t keen on dessert. Breakfast: 5/5 they had ample options and the beans were cooked well. I wasn’t keen very pleased to see a proper sausage there. Not some awful rusk richmonds but a proper quality sausage. Overall I couldn’t have been happy with what we paid vs what we got. Keep smashing it guys!

Judd’s Folly is in a lovely setting, easy to find. building has charm and character, decor is quite funky in places. Every member of staff I encountered was friendly, helpful and efficient. I was made welcome from the initial booking with swift and friendly response to my questions, during my stay and with a great checkout experience. my room was clean and nicely furnished and decor was fresh and neutral. The food at dinner was good but breakfast was exceptional- huge selection, replenished during service and nice quality ingredients. The cooked breakfast was delicious, served very quickly and very high standard.

The property is in a great quiet location with its own grounds. All of the staff, from check-in to bar to kitchen, were extremely friendly. The room was spacious and comfortable. I chose to eat my dinner in the bar area, which was comfortable and both the food and drink were enjoyable and value for money.

Friendly staff, very accommodating and helpful. Room, ideal, had access to a little terrace. Breakfast was a good choice of fruits, cereals and toast, juices, coffee & teas & a cooked breakfast which was fresh, delicious sausages & perfectly cooked eggs. Our only negative is that the bed was made up of two singles. One was comfortable, the other was lumpy and has had its day. Set back from A2, ideal location. We would stay again.

Breakfast was excellent. Fresh coffee and a wide choice of dishes cooked on the spot. The scrambled eggs and salmon on toast could not have been improved anywhere. The dinner menu was wide and the one time we tried it the food was excellent. It is also a good idea to offer sandwiches in the bar until 8pm and the ones we had on one occasion had lovely fresh bread and copious fillings. My room, 23, though small, was immaculately clean and had everything needed including a very good shower.

The location of this hotel was great. River view room was very large, spacious and had a small balcony overlooking the river. The bathroom was large too. Bath with shower over the bath - no separate shower. The room was clean, the bed was nice and comfortable. Tea & coffee Nespresso machine in room. Blackout curtains. Breakfast was good. Could do with more gluten free options as choice was limited for a vegetarian with food intolerances. All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. Evening meal in the hotel was really good. We were a table of four and everyone enjoyed their dinner.

I recently stayed at The Bell Hotel in Sandwich for my 40th birthday, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm and welcoming, perfectly complementing the character and charm of this historic riverside hotel. The food was absolutely excellent—each meal was beautifully presented and bursting with flavour. Whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the menu had a thoughtful variety of options, and everything we tried was delicious. It’s clear the kitchen takes real pride in their work. The location was ideal for our trip, especially as we were in town to play at the legendary Royal St George’s Golf Club, which is just a short drive away. After a day on the course, The Bell was the perfect place to unwind—comfortable, stylish, and relaxing. The rooms had a classic charm with modern touches, and the views over the river added a tranquil feel to the whole stay. Celebrating a milestone birthday in such a setting, with great food and access to world-class golf, made the experience truly memorable. I’d highly recommend The Bell Hotel to anyone visiting the area, whether for golf, history, or just a peaceful escape.

Service was exceptional, from check in to the gentleman running the breakfasts. Room was tired, but comfortable. Nice bed and lovely touches such as fresh milk, nespresso machine and great quality biscuits. Bathroom was freezing and tired, but fine and a nice warm shower. I didn’t eat in the restaurant, but based on the breakfast I wish I did. Fantastic eggs Benedict cooked to order and a wonderful selection of great quality food to pick from the buffet section. Server for breakfast was friendly, professional and incredibly efficient. Overall this hotel was great value for money.

The Bell Hotel is "very good." We traveled by train to/from London, and 1/2 mile walk to hotel flat. Two security guards at station did volunteer to help us with rollaway luggage over the tracks, but otherwise it was an easy walk to hotel. It is ideally situated in Sandwich, a quiet Medieval town. Walking paths by and around river and town, which my wife enjoyed while I play golf at RSG's one of the two mornings we stayed there are extensive and are used by locals; my wife felt very safe. (RSG will pick you up and return you.) Fish and Chips traditional and excellent; breakfast off-the-menu very good, and staff friendly. Beware there is no elevator, and the stairs are steep to room. But room with view of River Stour, open doors, and small balcony, fit our tastes. PS Namaste restaurant in alley behind hotel is excellent for Indian food and jammin' on a Thursday night. I hear from local source that Luigi's is also very good.

I cannot compliment the staff more, everyone we interacted with was so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious, rooms and wider hotel very clean and comfortable. Restaurant serves such lovely food and we were actually pleased the restaurant we were going to was closed on the Monday because what we had was so tasty. They put champagne glasses in our room upon our request and additional towels. Cannot fault the service from the staff.

Lovely little property in a fantastic location, very near the seafront. Perfectly-equipped, superbly-located and immaculately clean. It's about a 20 minute walk into Whitstable, and Tankerton has its own bars and restaurants too, which are very nice! Extremely comfortable bed as well. I would not hesitate to stay at Passengers again.

Amanda was so welcoming before we even arrived with so much info re restaurants etc which we took full advantage of and had absolutely delicious meals out! The property is incredibly cute, comfy, cosy and all the little extra touches made it perfect for us. Again, thank you for the emergency safety pins. X

Beautifully appointed house in great location close to cafes, bars, restaurants and beach. The property is secluded and peaceful with private parking and every comfort catered for. The accommodation was really exceptionally clean and the host had provided various essentials so even if you are staying for one night you have everything you need. The host contacted us in plenty of time with property access details which were clear and easy to follow and offered both early check in and car parking beyond time of check out on departure day, if required. A really positive experience and one we heartily recommend for a short break in a lovely part of the North Kent coast. Will definitely book again !!

I loved my stay in Passenger's House in Whitstable. It's very close to the sea and some local shops so you can get some food or get your beauty treatment close-by. The property itself is really amazing and has everything you may need or might have forgotten. It's very clean and smells so nice when you come in. There's some great little touches such as the fairy lights and the hot water bottle you can make yourself to be warm and cosy. The host is friendly and so helpful. I really didn't want to go home! Will defend recommend and come back one day!

My daughter and I stayed at the inn for one night during our trip exploring Kent — and we honestly didn’t want to leave! From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the warm, cosy interior of the inn made it feel like a true retreat. Our room had everything we needed and more — from biodegradable shower caps and earplugs (thoughtfully provided, although the noise wasn’t an issue as the pub below closed early) to complimentary still and sparkling water, a small carafe of delicious Rubis chocolate wine, and plenty of coffee pods and tea. Milk and extra supplies were easily available from a pantry in the corridor. The shower was divine — excellent water pressure and plenty of hot water. The room was also stocked with books and games, and we ended our evening with a cosy game of Scrabble before sinking into a bed so comfortable we didn’t want to get up. There’s a lovely beer garden at the back, with beautiful wooden benches, pots of ferns, sheltered and open seating, lit up with fairy lights in the evening. We enjoyed a peaceful stroll around the village and, on the morning of our departure, tucked into a five-star cooked breakfast at the inn — included in the price. We then followed a walking route suggested by the inn manager (maps available at the bar and in the room). If we return to the area in the future, we’ll definitely stay at the inn again. We don't know where to start. The staff were unbelievably friendly and good at their jobs. Professional yet relaxed and sociable. We truly felt welcomed and like a home from home while staying here. The breakfast was possibly the best breakfast we've ever had! Amazing produce, delicious and good portion size. The open fire in the bar made for a fun evening costed up and they're so friendly they welcomed our pooch to hang out with us on the sofa. They even sell amazing dog treats at the bar. Beer garden out the back is beautiful and overlooks a field. Parking was easy to get a spot opposite the hotel. Can't compliment the place or staff enough!!

The breakfast was so delicious. I didn’t expect to have such delicious food in the bar so my only regret was I didn’t try an evening meal. I have a reason to get back there!

Breakfast was cold buffet style, but plentiful and with good coffee! And at check-in the staff offered all types of milks for different allergies/requirements. Our room had a huge comfy double bed, and two single beds at almost floor level (like camp beds). They are very handy for small children that might fall out of bed at night, and were totally fine (and comfy) for our teenagers too! So request those beds if you have little ones with you! Didn't try the in-room coffee, but the biscuits were a nice treat. Shower was an in-bath type, as you'd expect with an historic property. Certainly powerful enough and spacious, but the step into the bath might not suit all ages; though I heard another guest mention they requested a room with walk-in shower. Seems like a very accommodating hotel! Overall very clean and comfy.

I love to stay in older buildings with charm rather than modern hotels. The Castle House Hotel was perfect ! We had a lovely big room with ensuite and queen bed and plenty of wardrobe space. Occassional noise from outside but faint and not enough to disturb us. Comfy bed and really great breakfast in a charming dining room. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. A big carpark with easy access from a quiet street. The hotel was well positioned for exploring Canterbury. Theres a little garden accessible from the back of the carpark which would be nice to sit in in summer.

Close proximity to the city. Two minutes walk to the nearest pub/ restaurant. Theatre is a five to ten minute walk away. Very friendly staff, helpful and pleasant manner. We had a room in the coach house, it was very clean and comfortable, and sheltered from the road noise. The accommodation is basic but more than adequate. No option for a cooked breakfast, but the continental breakfast is very good. Additional bonus of this small friendly hotel is having a car park on site.

Car parking on edge of town was really helpful. Family Room spacious and remarkably quiet for such central location. It’s an old house so don’t expect modern fittings and deco but it’s all clean and functional. Breakfast was good with lots buffet continental style choice.

The location was perfect for visiting the city centre and the cathedral! Barely a 10 minute walk and you are right there! The place is old and quirky, love it! The cat there was asleep on the landing and was super cute! The room was a really good size, very clean and comfortable, everything we needed was there. The breakfast was great! Just Continental as advertised, but there was so much choice of cereals, fruit, yoghurts, cereal bars, flapjacks, meats and cheeses, toast, croissants, hot drinks, cold drinks….. Really nice! The staff were all lovely and friendly! Had a really enjoyable stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return!

Location is perfect - just a short stroll to Tankerton beach and local shops. Within walking distance of quaint Whitstable. Nearby bus stop to Canterbury. Property clean and fresh. Very well decorated with a super comfortable bed. Abundance of clean towels and toiletries. Lovely little outside (front) patio area at which to sit surrounded by flowering plants and hanging baskets. Host had cut fresh flowers for the rooms - beautiful scent. There were other thoughtful touches from the host, like an abundance of extra plug sockets and charging cables, milk in the fridge on arrival and a variety of teas and coffee. There is a super seating area with comfortable sofa, small table and chairs, tv, Netflix and small kitchenette area with a small microwave- perfectly adequate for a short stay, and plenty of cutlery/crockery. There was a chiller bag and also some plastic plates/bowls/cups which would be perfect for a picnic lunch on the beach. There was an ironing board and iron and hairdryer in the property and full length mirror. The bathroom was very clean with a curved shower with a good shower head and decent water flow pressure. The host provided an very informative booklet with details of recommended local restaurants and pamphlets detailing local events/attractions. Further there were a selection of boxed games available. The host was prompt in communicating about the property but not at all intrusive. I would certainly recommend 'The Slopes'.

Lovely property, beautifully presented. Very clean, fresh and comfortable, with everything I needed. Superb location, just minutes from the beach, very close to Seaview cafe for a great breakfast, and just around the corner from the lovely Jo Jo's for fabulous food and drinks! Host Coleen provided great communication beforehand, including tips for free parking close by, which was so convenient. Coleen had also very kindly provided tea, coffee, milk and delicious homemade shortbread - many thanks Coleen! Lovely walks down by the sea to the centre of Whistable. I would highly recommend, and would definitely book again.

Big and comfortable double bed, walking distance to the beach, Mediterranean restaurant (but only open Thursday to Sunday when we were there), pub and a cafe. Reasonably close to Tankerton shops and restaurants. Dog-friendly - our hosts even provided a doggie towel! Little‘extras’ provided, like fresh milk, biscuits, tea/coffee, etc.

Location was excellent, 4 houses from the seafront at Tankerton. Very friendly, helpful host. Cosy, very clean property, beautifully decorated. Provided extras i.e tea, coffee, water, milk etc which was unexpected. Loved all the quirky decor. Nice little garden area at the front. Ideal for our short stay and not far into Whitstable. Essential shops and some restaurants nearby. Highly recommend.

The Host Colleen is very kind and helpful. Great communication and detailed information provided. The Slopeshas a lovely seaside vibe in it's attention to detail. The decor is like a bright and cosy beach cabin and it is very comfortable and well equipped. You have all you need for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

A beautiful building, well maintained and cared for with a lovely garden. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and attentive to our needs. The room was cosy, warm in the cold January weather, with a stunning view on the cathedral. The beds were very comfortable, the bathroom had plenty of hot water with a good pressure on the shower, and breakfast was abundant and delicious, freshly cooked. Definitely a place to return to, highly recommended.

Instructions for check-in were clear and easy to understand. The room was small but clean and cosy. Beds were firm and comfortable, although I would have preferred an extra pillow. Lots of tea, coffee, sugar and milk in the room; and the fridge was a nice touch for our cold drinks and snacks. The cooked breakfast was delicious and not too big of a serving, and there was plenty of cereal, fruit, juice, tea and coffee to choose from. Any questions I had were answered quickly via message. The lovely manager/owner even came from home to make an iron and ironing board available for when we got back from having our evening meal. It's a short walk from the train station, which was great after a 4 hour jouney from Manchester. It is in a perfect location for exploring the centre of Canterbury - which is in walking distance - and is a 10 minute cab ride from the university campus where my son had an interview. I would definitely recommend for a short stay.

Black Horse Inn is a pub converted to a cozy accommodation. The room was comfortable although a bit less spacious but had a cozy feel along with a garden area attached to sip on Coffee while enjoying clouds go by. We stayed for only one night but it was very comfortable. The auto check-in and check-out system is at par and excellently explained. The morning breakfast was a delight and the hosts were very amicable and warm people. The location is also very central with all ameneties in walking radius of 10 minutes. I would definitely recommend Black Horse Inn.

This place was so central and convenient for our weekend plans. We came to Canterbury with several friends and booked three rooms. Our room was on the top floor, right under the eaves and a very pretty view of the Cathedral. It was so cosy, with cute little touches for the amenities, tons of storage space (especially given the small size of the room). The breakfast was perhaps the best, as we met the staff for the first time there, and they were very kind and accommodating. Cooked us a hot breakfast on request, and there were plenty of Continental additions at the buffet side.

Everything was exceptional. From the moment we arrived, Aaron made us feel so welcome greeting us with a big smile and sharing brilliant local tips on where to eat, drink and explore. The hotel strikes the perfect balance between modern comfort and historic charm, with beautiful interiors and a warm, relaxed atmosphere. We loved the big open fire in the bar area the perfect spot to warm up after a rainy day and the staff were all so friendly (and boy can they make a cocktail!). We met the newest member of the team didn’t catch his name, but he had tattoos and serious flair behind the bar a total pro. Our room was stunning, one of the ones with the big egg bath and mood lighting… my goodness, what a relaxing evening. Everything about our stay felt special it’s the kind of place you instantly want to come back to.

This hotel is in a superb location, right in the middle of Canterbury high street. Despite this, the room was very very quiet. A nice warm welcome on arrival from Reception. Room was lovely with a very comfortable bed (so comfortable and big!) and just the right temperature. Shower was nice and hot with lovely gel, shampoo and conditioner available. (So nice to get conditioner!) Tea and coffee tray was nice with oreo biscuits and coffee bags. The reception/bar area is lovely and after our evening travels around the city we returned to the bar for some lovely cocktails. Hairdryer was good and powerful. Some of the previous poor reviews raised concerns, but our experience was excellent, and good value for the location too. All staff we interacted with were very pleasant.

On a short break to Canterbury, England, just overnight, we chose The Abode Hotel. We had stayed there previously, about 12 years ago, and had a pretty good experience at that time. Since then, things have only got better. Excellent greeting and help when we first checked-in, from friendly staff. A very pleasant room on the 1st floor (that's one above the ground floor for our American friends) overlooking the High Street and immediately opposite the Royal Museum and Free Library. We found the bed to be very, very comfortable and both ad an excellent night's sleep. As is usual of course, the bathroom had all you could wish for, including plenty of hot water and white, fluffy towels. We had included breakfast for the next morning and found it was served in the Abode Restaurant on the ground floor. Once again, first class service from all the staff, a really wide menu to choose from and delicious food. We both went for the full English breakfast of egg, bacon, sausage, black pudding, hash brown and mushroom. Wonderful. I had a glass of the most delicious, freshly squeezed orange juice and more than one cup of really good coffee. Altogether a great stay and I hope to visit again soon.

We thought the hotel was amazing- one of the most welcoming and relaxing places we have stayed! The historic building was beautiful and the lobby, enchanting- like going into a National Trust property. Our room was gorgeous- dual aspect with views of the garden. Our queen sized bed was so comfortable and the linens, high quality- even our son’s sofa bed was comfortable and nicely made up (not like in other hotels where he usually has to put up with a grim bed). The decor looked fresh and the carpets were new. We had dinner on the evening which was great- good choices and good standard. We liked the atmosphere in the hotel the most as the staff were helpful and welcoming. They let us park right outside the door, they brought us a simple breakfast and a jug of milk in the morning as we had to check out before 8am. The place wasn’t the ‘poshest’ or massively salubrious but we felt it was homely, had interesting history and had character. Thank you for a lovely stay!

This was quite the stay! Luxurious building that was classy and beautiful. It looked like a castle on the outside. Inside was spectacular with solid wood molding and gorgeous decor. Our room was huge! The beds were very comfortable and the decor was grand. The views were also spectacular. We didn’t utilize the restaurant but did enjoy a late night drink at the bar. My husband worked out in the gym and enjoyed a brand new rower. The area is remote and the WiFi was spotty but the stay was spectacular.

Second time staying here and the lodges in the grounds are great for families, really spacious and comfortable. Pool area was much cleaner this time but the pool on our first day was freezing cold making it unpleasant to swim. It had warmed up by the second day though so this was quickly sorted. Weather was bad so didn’t do the woodland trail but it’s lovely and fun for the kids. Didn’t eat in the restaurant but used the bar which is cosy and a good range of drinks options.

The hotel was amazing the architecture and grounds are simply wonderful! Our room was spacious and comfortable with a large bathroom and the food and restaurant, bars and lobby were all great! Unfortunately the room was very hot and it was difficult to sleep and the pool was very disappointing! The pool area really needs a clean and upgrade there a lot of hair in the pool and the floors in the poolside changing rooms were very dirty! However overall we would still return to this hotel but just not use the pool!

From the moment of arriving in the free carpark we could not fault the New Flying Horse. The lady at the bar was very friendly sorry didnt get her name, blonde curly hair. We were staying for a wedding in Wye and very kindly they allowed us and got our room ready for a very early check in at 11am... Joe then came to us to tell us our room was ready and we had coffee in the garden. My husband and I stayed for the night but Joe told my mum she could also stay as we had bunks, she didnt however she stayed at a relatives, but how kind. We had 2 dogs with us and Joe brought them treats, he also left his mobile number with us incase we needed him to let them out for us, again very kind but we did it ourselves. The room was lovely, comfortable, clean and very nice. big room with a lovely bathroom. Breakfast was amazing, my husband had the full Wye and I had the Michelin breakfast, delicious. Again staff were fantastic. The only downside to this place was that we were unable to stay longer, so another visit is definitely on the list. We will certainly return. Thank you for making our stay great.

The New Flying Horse is a really quaint little pub with lovely rooms. Very comfortable beds, clean and nicely decorated. Kettle and everything else you might need along with friendly and helpful staff. The only thing that brought the rating down was the fact that they weren’t serving any food the night we were staying - a Sunday night with the Monday being a bank holiday. We chose to book a pub with rooms mainly because of the convenience of having dinner and a bed in the same place, something which really helps when you have two kids. On the morning of our arrival we woke to an email informing us that the restaurant would only be serving lunch - not very helpful when you’ve already paid for the hotel room and are due to arrive in a few hours time. Other than that - all good!

This is a beautiful historic hotel. Unfortunately, while we were there, the hot water for our room went out, but they got it fixed quickly and we were able to shower with hot water in morning. Unfortunately, the delay made it impossible to make it to breakfast on time and there was not a lot of flexibility there, though we could have better communicated the situation. Overall, it was a very peaceful place to stay - - I slept better there than many places along our journey. And the food we had in the restaurant for dinner was magnificent. The staff are good but more internal communication about our situation could have been helpful.

I recently stayed here as part of a wedding party. We were early for our booking, and the staff were very helpful to us as we were wanting to get ready. We were using the Hotel prior to a tunnel crossing the following morning, although we prefer a secure car park for our motorcycles we were able to park right outside the reception and out of view of the road. The staff were exceptional, all very helpful and friendly, efficiently getting use checked in and then sorting out some drinks and snacks. The rooms were in the annex next to the Hotel and absolutely spotless, modern, spacious and very comfortable, and breakfast the folliwng morning was good value and served promptly, which was very handy as we wanted to get moving quickly for the crossing.

A last minute decision to stay and a good one. Every member of staff we spoke to were helpful and friendly. The room was spacious with a very comfortable superking bed. The shower was good with good towels and toiletries provided. Everything was clean. We had a very pleasant dinner and freshly cooked breakfast with bottomless coffee.

Fantastic Stay – Highly Recommend! This was one of the cleanest hotels I’ve ever stayed in – absolutely spotless. Clean, clean, CLEAN! This is very important to me and my room was certainly spic and span. I was asked to remove my shoes at the door - great! I have no problem doing this as it keeps the carpets clean. The host was very friendly and chatty. I arrived quite sweaty and tired because I had to take a bus instead of the train. The host made me feel better right away. Breakfast was very nice and relaxing in a comfortable, front room with lovely relaxing music playing. The first day I didn't have breakfast at the B&B and I was recommended to try a place just down the street. It was fabulous, but a bit noisy, which is why I decided to have breakfast at the B&B the following day. I was not charged for the breakfast because I had an issue with my toilet and I think the host felt bad about that. She definitely tried her best to make her guests feel comfortable and cared for. I appreciated this very much.

Susan was absolutely wonderful and very welcoming, ensuring a very pleasant stay. The shower in the economy bedroom was great, in respect to water pressure and heat! The bed was comfortable and I enjoyed 2 good nights sleep. I enjoyed a full English breakfast both mornings at my preferred time which was served on time with a cheery smile and very tasty. I liked the house rule to remove outdoor shoes on entry, it's not a big ask is it? LEAVE THE OUTSIDE WORLD BEHIND. If you are looking for absolute luxury then this is not for you. But the genuinely caring welcome meant more to me as a solo female traveller visiting my family close by. I will be revisiting Carena House in the very near future.

Susan was very welcoming and helpful. The house was very clean and facilities such as shower and TV were great. The location is a short 10 minute walk into Canterbury City centre where there are plenty of sights to see and restaurants and bars.

Very friendly host who made me feel welcome and was interested to know of any preferences. My daughter was able to join for one night without extra as I would not make use of my last night or breakfast. Quiet warm room with comfortable bed and the room felt very clean. Very nice and generous breakfast adjusted to fit my preferences. If I go back to Canterbury I would stay here again.

Amazing Canterbury experience made memorable by our stay at Carena House . Susan is a kind, generous lady who's effort to keep the B&B spot clean and looking after her guests is truly commendable. Hot breakfast with Susan's home baked bread is stellar. Her husband Andrew, a retired pilot took us over the kent county on his microlite aircraft which was thrilling and an experience by itself. We wish to return to Carena House for our Canterbury trips in the future and recommend staying here . The place is in a peaceful location and walking distance to town centre.

I very much enjoyed my stay in this beautiful accommodation with many original features. Liked the ease of locating the hostel/hotel, parking onsite, clean environment in and out, basic but good value bedroom facilities including comfortable bed (although didn’t realise towels are not provided in hostels and therefore had a shower in the clean and well maintained shower room with no towel). Quiet and safe looking neighbourhood despite being directly on one of the main roads leading directly into Canterbury town centre (about 10mins walk, 2-3 mins drive/bus ride to the town centre). Found quick shopping available at ‘Sainsbury local’ less than 3 mins walk via the nearby St Lawrence rd. Noticed a large, clean and well maintained communal lounge on the ground floor but didn’t actually make use of it during my stay.

The staff was very courteous and friendly. The rooms was just spacious enough with clean and comfy mattress and sheets. Certain things like radiators could be cleaned once in a while. The toilets were clean and spacious. The breakfast was really good. May be the cafeteria could be a slightly larger as the space was little cramped for the number of guests. We would visit again and also recommend friends with families.

Hostel is located close to the main city centre. I would say 10-15 min walk. The room was nice and clean. The bed was comfy. There was free WiFi. The staffs were very friendly and helpful. Limited parking but I managed to get a parking space. Overall, a great experience. All that for the price was unreal.

The youth hostel is very helpful and polite. The female dorm room I stayed in was clean, comfortable beds and spacious. The kitchen is bit small but there plenty of space to make your food. If you don't want to be stuck in your room, the lounge is good for relaxing in the evening.

The property was modern and pristine. Perfect size for a couple. There is also a sofa which folds out to be a bed in the lounge. Kitchen has everything you would need to prepare meals. Downstairs is a shower room with toilet, hallway, laundry room and ironing closet. This leads to a neat patio with table and 4 chairs. Upstairs there is a double bedroom with fully opening window and shutters so you can control ventilation. Fan, hairdryer and blanket in the wardrobe. Bedside tables with lights. The kitchen has skylights so it's lovely and bright. The lounge is a good size. TV has free view and Amazon movies. Loads of plug points. Nice double doors open to a Juliette balcony. Carpeted. Every cottage has their own marked outside bin. The carport fitted my chunky Jeep ok. The hosts are great at communicating and they answered my messages immediately. Really helpful people. This is one of the best places I have holidayed in. The Beach and Market and town are all within a few minutes walk from the apartment. Even on a holiday weekend, it was quiet, despite there being pubs with live music all around.

The location is close to the main street for restaurant and the beach. The flat is very pretty and clean, perfect for two people. The information provided by the hosts before arriving and in a file in the flat was very helpful.

The Salt yard cottage is the perfect place for a base when you have a short stay in Whistable. Location is within walking distance of the high street, restaurants, harbour and the beach. Accommodation was very clean and welcoming.

This was the perfect base for a lovely weekend in Whitstable. Its location was perfect - close to everything but also nice and quiet. There was everything we needed for our stay and the outside space was a bonus. Perfect!!

Iffin Farmhouse is idyll place with lots of animals to be adored such as Marmite and Marmalade the Dexter cattle,sheep,cats and chickens. The home made food for dinner & breakfast was wide ranging and most tasty. Not often you are given the extra choice of eggs Benedictine or kippers to start your day. The room was clean and had all the amenities you required and to top off our stay the staff were very friendly and helpful.

My family and I loved our stay. The grounds were beautiful, complete with ponies, sheep, chickens, cows and the friendliest cats you can imagine. Our hosts were warm and welcoming. The room was spacious, clean and well appointed. Breakfast was delicious. All around, an excellent experience. We would definitely like to return for another stay.

Attentive hosts, rooms were well prepared, very cosy and comfortable. Beautiful views. Friendly and entertaining donkeys in the yard.

We had an absolute blissful stay, the farmhouse was very cosy and spacious. The property was super quiet and well maintained, the beds were comfortable and the host was very nice as well.

Perfect location in Whitstable between the main commercial street and the beach - easy location to walk from the train. Clean and nice new facilities with comfy bed. Helpful hosts who came to help drain the shower which was not draining on arrival. Thank you!

Great location, very central for town and beach. Modern decor, comfortable and clean. Free off road parking. Good amenities such as washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, TV with Netflix and Amazon apps. Very bright and airy living/dining room/kitchen. Very comfy bed.

Excellent location.Could walk into town and to the beach and harbour.We left the car in the car port and walked everywhere.The apartment though small was very well equipped.The shower was both clean and powerful.Plenty of hot water.Attractive and spotless.We were unlucky with the weather very cold and windy but the apartment was lovely and warm to return to after a bracing walk along the seafront.The small patio at the back looked inviting but weather wasn't suitable for sitting out. Plenty of boutiques and charity shops to browse and we would like to go back in the summer season though I imagine the narrow streets will be very busy. Good value for 2 people.Sofa bed so could have one child .

The split level apartment was particularly well appointed. It also had a large kitchen/dining room so if you love to cook it has everything you need. Bed was firm and comfortable. Shower had great water pressure. The area was safe and secure, near the high street but tucked away so you heard no noise at night.

We loved our stay in this charming modern cottage. The location is brilliant, close to the High Street and beach, but very quiet, with free parking in a carport at the property. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The jacuzzi & sauna were very good.

To all the Karen’s out there who have complained: What’s not to like about this beautiful setting. Outdoor pool open in September, outdoor jacuzzi, vast range of treatments. Food outstanding. Staff were extremely polite and friendly and so helpful. Yes we might have had to wait a little at breakfast and they had to get milk from another fridge in another building but honestly the staff were on it given that there weren’t many of them!! Yes some parts are a little tired but the building is very old. Paris the therapist was brilliant and the facial excellent. Yes the sauna was out of action and the inside whirlpool was too, but everything else was spot on. Get real. Times are tough for businesses. We had an amazing couple of days. Thank you for the memories. You’ve all got this. Ignore the Karen’s and the moaners. They need to get a life. ❤️💗🥰 xxx

Beautiful setting, accommodation was okay. So glad we got it at a last minute deal price, would have been disappointed if we had paid the full price. Food was absolutely gorgeous. We were seated we waited 20 mins before being asked our order, ideally should ask for drinks 5 mins after sitting. We both had the duck- absolutely gorgeous. The duck melted in our mouth. Fat could have been rendered down a little more. Potato and jus really tasty. We had green beans on the side. Honestly it was lovely. For pudding we both had crème brulee which was nice with a biscuit. We would definitely go again for the food. Pool and jacuzzi were lovely.

Came mid week for an overnight stay, receptionist friendly and informative, arrived just after dark and was able to find our Mews Room easily from the main house with a useful map for the grounds. Very pretty walk up for dinner, all lit and signposted, no car parking issues as lots of space. After visiting the treatment rooms for a facial for 50mins I have to mention Paris who was incredible, such an asset to Champneys, also came away with a prescription for products if wanting to buy. She helped me with a further booking and although she must have been tired as I was her last client of a long day,she was very pleasant and professional throughout. Dinner was excellent, all courses were delicious, the menu was very well designed, all staff were polite, friendly and helpful. The grounds are beautiful at night. Breakfast is continental and fresh. Again all staff were friendly and helpful. Had a lovely express treatment with another lady called Tracey, very relaxing. The spa facilities were great, plenty of towels and nice environment. Light lunch and a lovely autumn walk around the grounds before leaving. I think it’s great value, a lovely environment with excellent food and facilities! Well done all at Champneys! Will be returning.

The house has a small garden and it was perfect when we wanted to get out to check the weather before actually going out.

The house is well organised and extremely clean, room is very spacious with desks suitable for work. Well equipped kitchen and modern living and dining room. Free shampoos and shower gels are supplied. The host is very friendly and responsive. very close to centre train station, and central bus station that commutes to spectacular attractions.

Everything was perfect. Very comfortable and clean.Toiletries provided. Room cleaned.Large bedroom. Shared living room is very clean and modern too.Even has a coffee machine.Excellent value for money.Great location. Host was very accommodating and easy to get hold of.Will definitely book again if in the area.

We loved it. It was our second time here. It is very close to the center, from our room (attic) we could see the Cathedral spires through lovely green branches. The bathroom suited perfectly our needs, and it was clean and spacious. I like so much both windows, from the bathroom, and from the room itself. The owner is very friendly and we checked-in early and checked-out late without extra fee. The shared kitchen downstairs is nice, with free coffee, tea, biscuits. We didn't spend too much time in the living room but it is spacious. There is a small garden also and having your coffee there in the morning is pleasant. We will definitely come back.

The host was very responsive and was present at the property to show us around and hand over the keys. The house is very comfortable with a comfortable lounge area, well stocked common kitchen and a spacious bedroom. We had booked the Double bedroom which has an en-suite bathroom. The amenities in the house were very good. The house is a comfortable 10 minutes walk to the bus station and 12-15 minutes walk to the Canterbury Cathedral and all the main attractions in the old part of town. There are other rooms in the house given out to other guests but they are totally detached and hence we got complete privacy. The stay was overall enjoyable and comfortable.

Once inside the cottage there is a downstairs bathroom with fitted shower,lovely and clean with a good shower over the bath and plenty of hot water. There is also a separate laundry incorporating a washer,dryer and freezer.There is also a place to put coats and shoes,also ironing board and iron. Up stairs there is an open plan lounge,small kitchen fully equipped with dishwasher microwave fridge oven and utensils.A small table to eat at. Bedroom was very comfortable and a comfy double bed.All very clean and tidy. Central heating all through Outdoor space with an enclosed pathed area. Very happy with our stay.

The house was perfect for our stay. You notice as soon as you enter it's Very clean. A very well equipped house with everything you would need. Bed is extremely comfortable. The property is well placed for shops, pubs and the beach and harbour. There is good public transport available if you want to venture out. Whitstable is a thriving town with no Amusement arcades. The beach is mainly shingle, probably not child friendly. The harbour is a delight with bars and places to eat. The seafood is some of the best in the world, try the oysters... we will be coming back here and we do not revisit as a rule. A truly nice place, friendly people, good food

We really appreciated the convenient location—it made getting around easy and stress-free. The property is close to the high street, with easy access to all the nice restaurants, shops, and just a short walk to the sea.
