The suite was lovely and spacious for ourself and our 2 dogs. Patio doors onto patio with jacuzzi with stunning views. Gifts and blankets for the dogs which was a lovely touch. Room was bright and clean and quiet. Nice friendly staff doing their best. We never used the spa as we had our own private area to relax. The downstairs lounge was a nice place to sit for drinks and the pizzas were fabulous. You need to order at the bar before going downstairs which we didn’t know at the time. I would definitely stay there again.

We came across this hotel a bit by accident— due to a forecast storm, we couldn’t get off the island on the day we were meant to, so we needed somewhere to stay. I’m very glad to have been stranded because this hotel was outstanding! The rooms are gorgeous, and most if not all have a view of the sea and ferry port. The room we had was so comfortable with a beautiful view, but we also enjoyed the bath & shower products from ishga and the Highland Soap Company. Some rooms have private hot tubs, but all guests have free access to the swimming pool and spa which includes a public hot tub (bookable in advance), a steam room, a sauna, and hot & cold foot baths. Other services such as massages and facials can be reserved at a charge and you can book it through the hotel reception. The pool also serves as a local community pool, so it can get quite busy, but I liked that a fancy hotel like this gets involved in community life rather than isolates itself. Their restaurant, Òran na Mara, has outstanding food! It’s headed by a husband and wife team: chef Noel, who cooked the delicious dinner, and Remi, who runs the front of house and made our experience extra special. The hotel also has a separate lounge/bar called the Sea Deck Bar if you’re looking for lighter bites or more casual dining. We were a bit confused by this setup at first, but we ended up trying both restaurants in a day. I really would recommend Òran na Mara for dinner though, it was so good.

First pleasant surprise was how close the hotel was to the ferry port, less than a five minute drive so that was very convenient and served as a great base for exploring the island. The view through the full height windows as you enter reception was fantastic, and the bar area was a very cosy place to enjoy a local whisky of an evening (also very reasonably priced). Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was 10/10 - the option to start with some oysters was novel and delicious! We enjoyed a few options and all were great. Service was incredibly helpful and friendly. We loved our stay, and enjoyed the walks around the property of an evening.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Falls of Lora, and it was an experience to remember! The hotel itself is beautiful, nestled in a stunning location that offers breathtaking views. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-appointed, providing a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. What truly set this hotel apart was the exceptional service, particularly from the owner, Michael. He went above and beyond to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible. We needed a ride into town, and Michael graciously offered to help. Not only did he arrange a ride for us, but he also went the extra mile by speaking with the bus driver to ensure there was room for us, despite the uncertainty. He even waited with us until we were safely on board. This level of care and dedication is rare, and it made our stay at the Falls of Lora truly special. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable and comfortable stay, coupled with outstanding service. Thank you, Michael, for making our trip so enjoyable!

The receptionist was very friendly and helpful, particularly when we needed to alter the number of days we were staying. We had a really lovely tasty meal in the evening - fresh fish, and tasty starters. The waiter was friendly and helpful. Our breakfast was fantastic - we had kippers, lovely. The waitress was a really lovely lady, friendly, organised and clearly years of experience. Our room was lovely and warm - which was a blessing after having been caught in the rain. Shower was hot and powerful.

The property is well located for exploring the west coast of Scotland, just north of Oban and in a beautiful spot overlooking Loch Etive. We stayed in a beautiful suite on the first floor which was comfortable, clean and very spacious. The hotel is decorated in a traditional Scottish manner and has great character. It’s also high up off the road, which is quiet anyhow, and therefore we benefitted from undisturbed sleep. The restaurant is great and I would recommend without reservation. The breakfast menu is also very good too. Staff were welcoming and really helpful. Thanks for making our overnight stay in Connel so enjoyable. We will return I’m sure.

Great location to tour the West coast of Scotland. Plenty of parking spaces in the free car park. Welcoming, helpful and friendly staff in all areas. Clean comfortable room. Very good breakfast made to order with buffet options of cereals and fruit etc Evening meals were excellent and there is a bar and residents private room for socialising.

Wonderful luxury log cabin in a beautiful area. 15 minute drive into Oban. Excellent facilities - I cooked a full family meal in the kitchen, including the fish the kids caught on a local fishing trip that day. Plenty of towels and hot water. Very helpful and friendly owner - Katie was an excellent communicator throughout. Katie even made sure the heating and lights were turned in for our arrival as we were arriving later than usual check in times due to coming from the outer Hebrides. Really cosy and comfortable bedrooms - this was a luxury after touring the nc500 for 2 weeks and the kids were thrilled to have their own bedroom! Also very dog friendly. We loved our 2 night stay here and it made our trip to this area perfect.

Peaceful location welcomed just after arrival by host to check everything was OK. Dog friendly with walks on the doorstep. Forest and Loch within walking distance. Barn Bar & Restaurant onsite for food and drink. Chalet warm and comfortable with everything you need for self catering holiday. Comfortable bed with hotel class linen and towels. Would recommend for outdoor types especially. Down a track with passing places so you need to drive slowly! Friendly hosts with their own dogs so very dog friendly. Ideal base to explore Argyll.

friendly staff, spotless clean & well equipped modern lodges. restaurant/ bar on the grounds that sold delicious food (make sure u book as busy with the locals) Nice walks on the door step. Taxi ride away to Oban made wining & dining experience perfect for our weekend.

Very comfortable, clean and spacious lodge in a great location, So peaceful and quiet. Great restaurant on the site too (The Barn) - delicious home made food and dog friendly. Would recommend.

The rooms were well appointed, very clean and really comfortable. Amazing views! Great location on the seafront just a short stroll to Oban centre. Graham the host was lovely and very welcoming offering a home from home atmosphere. Soft towels and a great bed. Although breakfast isn’t available, it really didn’t matter as there is plenty of fresh fruit, tea, coffee, biscuits,fresh milk plus a microwave to make your own if you want to. Graham & Dan have thought of everything to make you comfortable. While in Scotland, We stayed in hotels that cost twice as much but were half as good. Can’t fault it!

This was heaven. Graeme and Dan were amazing. The room was huge and we had every luxury at our disposal. The bathroom was large with a good shower and was spotless. We had copious tea and coffee facilities. The bed was super comfortable and more than once we had a mid day nap to avail of the quietness and the comfort. The view from the room was 5 star and this will be a memorable place for us.

Where do I even start? Every single thing about Glenburnie House screamed BEAUTIFUL. From the gorgeous rose bushes that line the outside to being greeted by Graeme, the sweetest soul you will ever meet, who ran us through the initial details about our stay. From his welcoming, homely smile and demeanour, I knew this was the best place we could have chosen to stay in Oban. Little did we know how truly exceptional and wonderful this stay would turn out to be! We were led up to our rooms and I felt like I was home already: the spacious accommodations are all one needs to spends some quality time with loved ones. The beautiful furniture, the comfortable couches, the warm cosy bed, the small details in the decor items they put up really show how Graeme and Dan have given their hearts and souls to the place. Tea, coffee, local fresh fruits are on the house! The flat peaches I had there absolutely changed my life! We would look forward to getting a quick chat in with Graeme and Dan after each day of exploring, sharing our experiences and it was as if we had known each other forever. Glenburnie House is easily the BEST (understatement of the century) place we have stayed at: nearing the end of our visit it felt like I was leaving home, and sad as I was, I know I would be returning very soon and visiting frequently. Thank you Dan and Graeme, for the memories, the conversation, the fruit, the anecdotes, the beautiful smiles, thank you for being our home away from home 💜

We were so glad that we booked Glenburnie House for our 2 night stay in Oban during our honeymoon tour of Scotland. We booked a room with a sea view so we could fully enjoy the fantastic location of the guest house right on the front, watching the ferries going by and admiring the islands and mountains surrounding the town. Graeme gave us a warm welcome the minute we arrived and was always around if we needed anything, even texting us his phone number in case we needed anything out of hours, nothing was too much trouble, he even found beach towels for us so we could enjoy the sun which came out while we were visiting. The room was beautiful, very comfortable and spacious and gorgeously decorated, and sparkling clean, in fact the bathroom literally sparkled. It felt like a real treat. And the house itself was a beautiful historic building, it was a joy to stay here. There is no breakfast provided but this wasn't a problem at all, there was a microwave and fridge so we could store and heat up anything we needed. Plenty of tea coffee and milk was available, even a pint of milk in the fridge on arrival. We would thoroughly recommend Glenburnie House if you are staying in Oban.

The property is a beautiful historic building. The room was amazing and every detail was thought of. The bed and bedding were so comfortable and the view was amazing. The location was so convenient and a lovely short walk to town. Graham was a friendly and helpful host. Would highly recommend.

My husband and I came for our anniversary. Our overall experience was spectacular, from the moment we checked in we felt right at home! We very much enjoyed hanging in the library for afternoon tea and an evening drink in the whiskey bar after coming back from dinner. The sunset views were amazing! The staff at breakfast was so friendly and shared recommendations for us during the day. The fresh salmon for breakfast was delicious! The managers were amazing, with a smooth check-in and answered all of our questions but also great to talk to while enjoying a drink at the whiskey bar. We truly never wanted to leave and look forward to coming back for another trip!

Everything! The staff was super friendly and helpful! Declan the bartender was amazing! He had great recommendations on whiskey selections. We loved that we could easily walk into town. Our host was super helpful on ideas for things to do. The breakfast was the best we’ve had in the UK and the haggis was so tasty! The room was beautiful as was the gorgeous bathroom with claw foot tub and separate shower. Took a nice relaxing tub. House was super clean. Loved sitting and having a drink in the library and the bar area overlooking the bay! Incredible setting!

We spent 2 nights at the Dungallan Country House and It is a beautiful property which is very tastefully presented. The rooms are luxurious and comfortable. The public areas are lovely to spend time in, particularly the library and bar. There is a beautiful outdoor area if the weather is fine. The team managing and working at the hotel were all very welcoming, friendly and at the same time professional. The hotel is a 3 minute drive/ enjoyable 15 minute walk from the centre of Oban or a taxi costs approximately £5. We enjoyed the location as the views from the hotel were spectacular. The choice at breakfast was excellent. We would definitely stay again.

Impeccable country house hotel in a prime location. Gorgeously decorated. You really feel that you are staying in a private country house for the weekend! We took one of the smallest rooms, but it was so luxuriously decorated and so comfortable we didn't mind. Bathrooms are fresh and new, plenty of room, beds are super comfortable. And the sea views are to die for. We spent so much time in the cozy bar and lovely library. Great bar too! Staff is very friendly and super efficient as well. It's a 10 to 15 minute walk into town, but you are away from the traffic and noise. Breakfast is superlative.

Friendly welcome on arrival from Kirsty & Simon Beautiful hotel and gardens, view was amazing, very calm and relaxing sitting in garden enjoying a drink. Our room was excellent, very comfortable bed, lovely large window with window seat overlooking Oban bay. Breakfast was delicious, staff very friendly and helpful.

We stayed in the Beach House at No.26 By the Sea, and it was absolutely wonderful—both cozy and unexpectedly luxurious. Tucked just beside the main hotel, the Beach House offers more privacy while still giving you access to everything that makes No.26 so special. The space is split over two floors: downstairs is a beautifully decorated living area with a comfy sofa, an inviting electric fireplace, and a full kitchen that made us feel right at home. The attention to detail in the decor creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Our private patio overlooked the water—a perfect spot for morning coffee or evening drinks. Upstairs, the bedroom was spacious and peaceful, with a second bathroom that made the entire setup feel like a private retreat. We enjoyed breakfast at the main hotel each morning, and the honor bar was a fantastic touch—fully stocked with local gin and Scotch, making it easy to unwind in the evenings. If you’re looking for a stylish, relaxing, and private place to stay in Oban with the added charm of hotel amenities, we can’t recommend the Beach House at No.26 enough.

What a gorgeous time we had on our 2 day break at no.26. Lovely room overlooking beautiful Oban Bay. Very comfortable bed and pillows, sparkling clean bathroom with a great shower and lovely toiletries.There is a very comfortable lounge with a well stocked honesty bar on the ground floor. Breakfast each day was delicious with a super choice. Lovely touch to leave a little tray with juice and pastries outside our room early morning- we enjoyed these with a coffee whilst getting ready for the day ahead. No.26 is in a great location- fab views, easy flat 10-15 minute walk right into Oban. So many restaurants to choose from for dinner. And last but certainly not least ….the staff at no.26 were so friendly, very welcoming and gave us lots of good tips for local places to visit. We look forward to returning for a longer stay next time and would highly recommend

Everything about this place is first rate. The accommodation is beautifully presented with lots of originality and no expense spared. The staff are all brilliant, friendly and hard working, nothing is too much trouble and they all seem to love where they work. The chefs are absolutely first rate - we've eaten in some very fancy restaurants and hotels but the skill, menu choice, quality and attention to detail are second to none. Only breakfast is provided on site but it is a work of art and you can use the restaurant in the sister hotel (No17) for dinner. We had the charcuterie board on arrival for dinner instead of going to the restaurant and it was also fabulous. Every morning there is a delivery to your door of fresh pastries and mini bottles of fresh OJ - such a lovely touch! The views from the lounge and bedrooms are just amazing. I would highly recommend this and really hope to be able to return soon. The location, surroundings and service made this impeccable and I can't wait to return. It was good for the soul!

We loved our stay in the 'Gorgeous Room With Sea View'. The staff was so welcoming and friendly from the minute we arrived till we left. The breakfast they offered was fresh and tasty. The morning apple juice and fresh pastries delivered to your door to get you set for your main breakfast - there was loads of choice and as one team member said 'we are feeders'. You can have as much food or little as you like! The overall property is well presented and allows you to feel right at home! The views from the lounge and bedroom are just amazing, we got lucky with the weather and got to see the sunset over the harbour! I would highly recommend this hotel and really hope to be able to return soon. The location, surroundings and service made this impeccable and I can't wait to return.

The Manor House was absolutely wonderful! It was the epitome of a luxury B & B. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a stunning view of the sea. There was a full bar downstairs and they also have a restaurant. Our breakfast was delicious! Stephen, our host, was personable and accommodating—he anticipated our every need! He made reservations for us to dine in town, and served us from the bar each night. We left early the third day, and he packed us a breakfast to go! Hand-made sandwiches, yogurts, fruit, breakfast bars, water and juice. Absolutely incredible!! If I could give a rating of 12 out of 10, I would do that!

Gorgeous historic hotel with elegant rooms, great baths, very comfortable beds, and a lovely garden. The staff was welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was superb: abundant and delicious. We enjoyed sampling whiskeys at the bar and followed the bar tender's excellent advice--he was knowledgeable and fun. We stayed in two rooms--one with a view over the bay and one with a view of the woods--and enjoyed both. The beds were noteworthy for their comfort and great pillows. The town center is a very easy ten minute walk; a nice stroll before and after dinner around the harbor.

The hotel is a very short walk into town, yet far enough away, should you wish to enjoy some peace and spectacular views north over Oban Bay. The cooked breakfast was absolutely superb, topped off with Scotland's finest Stornoway Black Pudding. The bedroom was spotlessly clean and had a great view over Oban Bay. The public areas were beautifully decorated and very classy. The gardens were immaculate and beautifully planted. The Bar was stocked with some of Scotland's finest Malt Whiskies. Whilst evening meals are no longer served, we had a cheese selection off the Bar light supper menu. Based on this and the other items offered, we think you could have a perfectly enjoyable evening meal at the hotel, should you not wish to travel the short distance into town. Most importantly, both Steven and David were spectacular hosts. There was attention to very small details throughout our stay. For example, David gently touched my coffee pot upon service of our breakfast, just enough to see if it was still hot....and it was. This is just a small example of terrific service exhibited by them both.

A beautiful, clean and pleasant hotel in a perfect location. Our room was located on the ground floor with a perfect view of the bay. The room was quite large and comfortable, and came with a mini fridge to use - complete with a complimentary bottle of fresh local water. The room had a large, comfortable full king bed, a table and chairs, plus two cosy armchairs facing the amazing view. The hotel itself was lovely and quiet, even though the rooms were all full - we never heard a peep from our neighbours. The hotel is a pleasant walk away from all the restaurants and pubs. The owners sent a very helpful email prior to our arrival with information about the best places to eat. We tried a few places on the list and we're quite pleased. Great place to stay - we highly recommend!

We were lucky to get a room as it is very rare that there are vacancies……now we know why !!! It is an absolutely gorgeous place to stay. The location is in the quieter part of Oban with on site parking. It is about a 10 minute walk along the sea front to the town, shops, beautiful seafood restaurants, bars & cafes. The hotel operates on a self check in basis. We were kept informed of this and what to do via emails prior to our visit. We were also sent a list of breakfast, lunch & evening meal recommendations along with pubs & cafes in the town & beyond. The hotel is spotless & tastefully decorated. Our room was on the first floor and down the corridor. We didn’t have a sea view but we’ve overlooked the communal conservatory below. The bedroom was huge and was dominated by a massive king sized bed with beautiful bed linen. There were two easy chairs & a small table where you can sit with your coffee, tea or glass of complimentary sherry ! Lovely wardrobe & gorgeous bathroom with a huge shower. Complimentary toiletries were from a local Scottish company, sumptuous ! Sadly the hotel doesn’t serve breakfast but we found a lovely cafe on the sea front called Coasters, they do a great breakfast. All in all Barriemore is the perfect place to stay when in Oban. Sadly we were only there for one night but will definitely be returning, for longer next time as we want to visit the Isles.

Fabulous hotel, perfectly located toward the end of the esplanade. Beautiful room, spacious, comfortable, clean, welcoming, absolutely incredible views of the bay and Kerrera island. The binoculars are a great addition and one soon gets used to policing the frequent boat and ferry traffic. Our room has separate areas so whether work or leisure there was ample space. Enormous bathroom, very well lit and a joy to use. Mark the host very pleasant and welcoming. No ‘old people’ or cooking smells and you would never know the hotel accepted our canine friends. The lovely touches of complimentary sherry, Irn Bru and tunnocks give you a warming Scottish welcome. A shared communal room has extra condiments should you need a top up of quality teas and coffee. Complimentary sweeties and fruits in the entrance hallway a lovely touch. A totally relaxing experience and we have already recommended the place to family and friends. Oban itself is a lovely, clean, tidy and welcoming place. Looking at the pristine water you would never guess this is one of the busiest ferry ports (to the isles) in the country. Wonderful

Great location, amazing view from the Seaview Room, guaranteed parking with every room. Very good price value. Spacious room, very comfy bed, super clean and a very good quality complimentary sherry in the room. Rooms are quiet, no noise coming from neighbours. There is a lounge downstairs which has a cosy atmosphere. Car park can be busy and tight if you have a bigger vehicle like us. The only thing we were missing is breakfast but we understand that they are only offering room only options. We have found a nice brekkie spot 10 min walk away (Costers) but in the rain we decided to drive out of town to Poppies Garden Center as parking in town can be tricky or almost impossible when it is busy. Overall Barriemore exceeded our expectations and we definitely will return with our doggies as they are dog friendly too. Thank you Mark & Jan, we had a lovely time in Oban!

My mom and I had a magical stay at Barriemore in Oban! We stayed in one of the seaview rooms (2 twins) and the view was absolutely gorgeous, especially during sunrise. The room was clean, comfy, quaint, and stocked with sweet treats, cold water, and coffee making supplies! Oban is such a cute town and Barriemore is situated at the end of the "main strip" which made it a quiet and peaceful stay, yet easily accessible via a quick walk to the hustle and bustle of the downtown area. While you are in town, you HAVE to eat at Coasters Bistro & Bar!

Our stay at Mackays was exceptional. The room was spacious with a big, comfortable bed and lovely reclining chairs but the real star was the incredible view we had over Oban bay :) - it was stunning and a highlight of our holiday here! Breakfast isn't served but was substituted by porridge, yoghurt and cereal bars in the room which was absolutely fine and meant we didn't have to rush out looking for breakfast. We used several of the restaurants recommended by Mackays and all were lovely - particularly Ee-Usk. The location is excellent as we were able to walk to Oban distillery, the restaurants and the harbour for boat trips - and Ganavan Sands was beautiful, a short drive away. It was hard to leave, so we had a final coffee on the terrace before letting go! Thank you - will definitely be recommending xx

As soon as you walk in the welcome is so nice and a hassle free check-in. We stayed in Room 1 which was stunning, amazing views, huge bed, decorated to a high standard, spotless clean, complimentary items, iron of you need it and a decent size mini fridge. Bathroom was lovely and the shower was amazing. Complementary breakfast was lovely and enough to keep us going to lunch time. Attention to detail at this hotel is amazing. We will defo be back xxx

perfect accomodation for a stay in Oban, on the seafront overlooking Oban bay, 10 minute walk into the centre of town, spotlessly clean, tea/coffee and breakfast food,ie, porridge, yogurt, breakfast bars and fruit in room perfect to start the day, great hosts who make sure everything is ok for a perfect stay, definetely a great place to stay in Oban 10/10

The room was beautiful, spacious and comfortable with a separate walk in wardrobe. There was a small fridge which I found very useful and a decanter with sherry which really hot the spot after a 5 hour drive! I was also delighted to find it was refilled every day with enough for 4 glasses which I thought was a really lovely luxurious touch. Tea, coffee and various snacks also provided. The bathroom was also large and top quality with a double shower, all spotlessly clean. The house itself was a Victorian building with a beautiful entrance hall and stairways, sumptuous and welcoming, with fruit and chilled water also provided. I was in a back facing room but would love to stay again in one of the front rooms with bay windows overlooking the amazing westerly facing coastline where the sun sets over the sea.

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights earlier this month, and it was delightful! The room was immaculate, and the view of the water was lovely. We appreciated the hot water pot for coffee/tea (provided in the room), as well as the mini fridge. The soaking tub was amazing, and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was delightful, essentially breakfast charcuterie! Cheeses, cold meats, breads, variety of fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals, juices, hot beverages, and hard boiled eggs. Ample amount of food for the cost of breakfast, especially since you'd have to walk to town to get breakfast elsewhere. However, the walkability of this guest house was great to restaurants and shops, while being quiet as well. The manager was great at checking if there was anything she could do to make our stay more pleasant. We hope to return to Oban and stay again! Only a few possible minor downsides, in case it's helpful to know: 1. It can be hard to make the temperature in the room colder if you like it on the cool side at night, for example, if you're an American used to having air conditioning in a hotel room, which this doesn't have. 2. There is a fee for breakfast; however, it's worth it! 3. If you have trouble with stairs and luggage, it could be hard if you can't stay on the first floor.

The staff was very friendly, helpful, responsive, good communication. The location walkable from the train station—not super-close but close enough. A very nice breakfast was served for $10 with a beautiful view of the sea. Not so good was more or less clean room —the bathtub could use a scrub, pillowcases, too. One bed was covered in plaster dust, fortunately; I needed just one bed. The bathtub was claw foot with no plug for a bath and no showers curtain thus water cleanup on the floor necessary. The tub was hard for me to get in and out of. (I also found the room decor chaotic—sequin bedcovers making it not a comfy place to sit, and more. I can imagine someone else may like it.) So not the end of the world but because I’m older I’m not sure I’d stay there again.

This is the third time we have stayed, and we love it. The rooms are comfortable, cosy and clean. Perfect location with great views. Tasty breakfast. I love the old building and the decor. We will definitely be back again.

The host was lovely and very accommodating regarding breakfast (I am gluten free). Great location in Oban overlooking the bay, with parking! Continental breakfast was a very welcome change from cooked. the choice was amazing. there is a separate, but very reasonable charge for breakfast. Dining room had great views of the bay outside. Easy walk into Oban. Room was quiet, spacious with the addition of a fridge. Self check in worked well.

Lovely view from the window watching ferries go by. Nice to be able to make tea in room. Wee fridge in room for milk etc. Lovely shower. Chairs by window to sit and look out. Nice and quiet but not too far to walk along seafront to nice shops and restaurants. Lovely buffet breakfast. Very nice host. We ate dinner at Cuan Mor - excellent.

Wonderful ! The only way to describe our recent stay at Aspen Lodge. Bobby and Carol are the perfect hosts, friendly, helpful and totally genuine. We had a patio outside our room from which we had probably a 150 degree uninterrupted panorama of the surrounding hills, just add a bit of sunshine and a glass of whisky, and you have a perfect evening, just sitting outside on the bench, with a drink, taking in the view with just a babbling brook and bird song the only noise you will hear. The room was OK size wise, not too big or too small and was modern and clean. TV was perhaps a little too small for us and the settee had definitely seen better days, but with all that the area around Aspen Lodge has to offer and the view outside our room, we didn’t spend too long inside our room watching the telly. The bathroom was large and beautifully decorated with a superb shower, all the toiletries you will need and the softest, fluffiest towels you can imagine with lashings of hot water (although it did take a long time to come through ! ). Breakfast was excellent and more than adequate for us with the choice of the usual cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, fruit juice, cooked food, toast etc, etc, all freshly cooked personally for you when you arrive for breakfast ( baked beans not available though – how weird ! ). Aspen Lodge only has 3 rooms so you are guaranteed personal attention if you want it. Carol is more than happy for you to bring your own wine or beer to your room and will even

We had an amazing stay at Aspen Lodge. The hosts, Carol and Bobby, were helpful and attentive from the moment we got there. Full of suggestions to help make the most of our stay. Our room was clean, tidy and comfortable. The view was amazing! We couldn't stop looking out of the window! Breakfast was great. Carol makes an amazing poached egg, and the whole breakfast was lovely 😍 We highly recommend a stay!

The room was very clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Our host, Carol, was very friendly and helpful and couldn’t have been more welcoming. The location was perfect if you have a car. It was peaceful, with lovely views of the rolling hills, and yet was only about 3 miles from Oban and the ferry terminal. Breakfast was very good and we appreciated how Carol made a special effort for us as vegetarians. We would definitely stay again! Thank you Carol.

To view from the lodge is to die for, it sits high above Oban in a very peaceful location. The staff are very friendly and helpful and they make a great breakfast. Room clean, shower perfect and excellent WIFI. Would visit again without fail.

First and foremost, Carol and Bobby were truly wonderful hosts who went out of their way to accommodate us! Advising Carol that we planned to take the ferry over to the Inner Hebrides Islands, she provided us with information regarding a very convenient and economical car park to leave our car rental in while we visited the islands. In addition, she served us a full early breakfast in order to accommodate our early morning ferry departure time! The fresh fruit served at breakfast along with the wide assortment of breakfast options was delicious! Although the daily rain prevented us from utilizing the room patio overlooking scenic views of the surrounding area, we were able to appreciate from inside our spacious and well appointed room.

Check in was very quick and efficient - I was given a hand up to my room with my bags (& when I checked out as my knees aren’t the best!) - the staircase is gorgeous but there are no lifts for those with significant mobility issues. The room and bathroom were super clean and comfy. Although there was no cooked breakfast around 7:30 there was a little bag with fruit, water, yoghurt and a pastry delivered to the door which was a really nice touch. Was really quiet in the local area - didn’t hear any noise from the rooms or the bar below. Parking was easy in the car park across the street and cost about £13 for 48hrs (ish). My room was ideal for solo trips but know the others are larger to accommodate for couples etc. Central location with several cafes, bars and restaurants within walking distance as well as the train station. Have been visiting Oban for years and will certainly be coming back to the Whisky Vaults if I they have space for me!

This is the perfect location to stay in Oban. It is out of the way from noise but still directly in the middle of the city. Helen and Jon the owners of the Whiskey Vaults were helpful and delightful and they made our stay in Oban incredible. The bar in the Whiskey Vaults also quickly became our favorite bar in the city, with a wide selection of whiskeys, and friendly Hannah and Kyle absolutely killing it behind the bar. Another friendly face, Dayna, was always there to freshen up a room in the morning or ask about your day. This hotel helped establish Oban as my favorite location we got to visit in Scotland, and I highly recommend it.

We loved the Whisky vaults - it's a really good value. We paid to upgrade the slightly larger deluxe room. our room was very clean with a good view. Bathroom was clean and modern with good hot water and good water pressure. The woman who checked us in was very kind and professional. she recommended restaurant recommendations, things to do and showed us the bar and beer garden next door. We loved Oban - it was one of the places we would come back to again and we would definitely stay at the Whisky Vaults again.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Whisky Vaults Hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and our room was lovely and comfortable. But, the best part of our stay was the bar, which has a great atmosphere with perfect music, and amazing bartenders who selected perfect local whiskys for our nightly tastings. Great location with easy street parking. Room was clean and quiet, and the bed super comfortable. The breakfast bag to take on the early ferry the next day was also a nice touch. Emma and Chris in the bar downstairs were friendly and welcoming.

The atmosphere of the place is amazing and the breakfast was really tasty. The staff was incredible and made us feel very welcome. From the little tour of the castle on arrival all the way to the unprompted offer to take a picture of us in front of the castle when we checked out. We had dinner at a nearby family restaurant followed by a lovely evening at the bar in the castle. We stayed in the Breadalbane room and the view out the window was out of this world (see pictures).

Simon was amazing, had a lovely chat with us about whiskey, the resident ghost and the history of the castle. He was super helpful and informative when it came to what was available in the local area. The breakfast he prepared for us was amazing! We couldn’t fault the place. Bed was very comfy, everything was very clean and inviting. Sitting up in the grand dining room on the chesterfield couches by the fire with a whiskey playing scrabble was the perfect night in for us!

Both Patrick and Ceceilia were very welcoming on our arrival with an interesting tour of the Castle and general kindness. The room was clean and comfortable with everything we needed, including a welcoming pack tea,coffee, and biscuits. The breakfast was quality and thoroughly enjoyable It was our 40th anniversary and we couldn't have enjoyed spending it anywhere else

I was most excited to stay at this property and it did not disappoint! From the moment we arrived our hosts Patrick and Cecilia greeted us like family and made us feel so welcome and comfortable during our stay. The castle was like stepping back in time yet had all the modern comforts we're used to. It was the most comfortable bed of all the locations we stayed during our trip. We loved learning about the castle's history during our arrival tour. The views of the loch and mountains near the castle are absolutely breathtaking. In the evening we relaxed by the fireplace with a drink enjoying the atmosphere of the castle great room and talking to other guests. Breakfast service was wonderful with a great selection of foods provided. My omelette was cooked to order by Cecilia and was fluffy and delicious. What a special experience and we would love to return on our next trip.

Absolutely amazing. The most exceptional accommodation, a genuine Castle full of history, antiques and everything is of the highest quality and standard. So grateful for the opportunity to stay in this wonderful place and the Managers , Patrick & Cecelia were amazing and made us feel so special. Everything is impeccable, service, cleanliness, comfortable bedding, beautiful linen and textiles. The breakfast was fabulous, we appreciated the introduction, tour and history briefing upon arrival and truly enjoyed the great hall and indulging in a tipple in the evening at the bar with Patrick. Overall, a very well managed hotel. The inn keeper was extremely friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Location is great along the main road. Parking behind the hotel was very convenient and there were plenty of spots when we traveled. Bed was very comfortable. Everything was very clean. In the bathroom, the sink was about the size as you would expect on a boat, very skinny and difficult to keep water from splashing everywhere. The shower was very nice, but similar to other places in Scotland there are no shelves to put toiletries on in the shower. The breakfast buffet was very tasty, ample, and fresh. We did not find a better place for breakfast in Oban. Note that if your room is on the street side, the street noise can be a bit much.

The location of The Scot was perfect for exploring Oban, and the staff were very friendly. The hotel was spotless, and the room had the usual tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and a wee treat of some Tunnocks teacakes. There was a hairdryer, iron, ironing board, and a fan. The bathroom was modern with a nice big walk in shower, lovely toiletries, and plenty of clean towels. The room also had a nice, big, comfy bed, which allowed a great night's sleep 😴 We opted to have the cooked breakfast, which did not disappoint - it was delicious. There were also plenty of options like cereal, porridge, toast, and pastries. Also had a cracking coffee machine, and the lattes were lovely. Free parking was also a bonus. All in all, we had a lovely stay, and we will be back.

Clean, tidy and had a modern make over. Our room was spotless, great bathroom and plenty water from the shower! The bed was massive and very comfortable. Loved the location, and the staff were polite and very helpful. Loved the bar area, was cosy and welcoming. Car park was handy too. Would definitely use the hotel again.

We had the most beautiful few days at this hotel as part of our honeymoon. The service was brilliant, service was very personal and very helpful (Alistair and Kirsty on reception were very helpful on a daily basis, William on breakfast service one day was exceptional). Staff were very knowledgeable on the area and were able to give us helpful tips as part of our stay. We arrived to find we'd been upgraded due to the trip being a part of our honeymoon, and when we entered our room we even had a personal note and small gift to congratulate us. The hotel is a very grand building and our room was absolutely beautiful. We had lovely views across the water and I loved sitting in the bay window armchair with a cup of coffee before breakfast. The hotel was perfectly located for the ferry terminal, but also very close to all the shops and restaurants in Oban. Although there is no parking for the hotel, we had no issues parking at the train station and our total parking charge after 3 nights was under £30. We had a number of evening meals in the hotel restaurant, all of which were delicious. We also had a lovely breakfast every morning - the full Scottish breakfast is the best we've ever had and would thoroughly recommend! We've recently had a baby and are hoping to return in the near future with our little girl as we feel comfortable that we'd all be well looked after again. The Perle really made our honeymoon special so thank you very much!

I had a fantastic stay at Perle Hotel! From the moment I arrived, the experience was exceptional. I received a complimentary room upgrade, which was a lovely surprise. The room was beautiful, comfortable, and well-appointed. Breakfast was a highlight, with a wide selection of delicious options—everything was fresh and tasty. The hotel also offers fantastic amenities, including a vibrant restaurant and bar, indulgent afternoon tea, whisky tasting, and the relaxing Mare Spa. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making the stay even more enjoyable. I highly recommend Perle Hotel and would definitely return!

The staff were friendly, knowledgeable about the area and generally accommodating. Anything I asked, they responded quickly. The restaurant food was lovely--I cleaned my plate. I'm coeliac, and I was very pleased at the choices I had on the menu. Lovely soups, too! I went in pre-tourist season and the bar was quiet, a perfect spot for great cocktails while I worked on my laptop. Lovely atmosphere and a great view of the harbour to boot. I went the the spa every day for a pamper treatment and had three different therapists--Laurie, Grace, and Zoe, who were all superb in different ways. The spa was one of the reasons I booked this hotel and it exceeded expectations. The bar area was great for cocktails and had a lovely atmosphere with a great view of the harbour. Watching the sunset with a margarita in hand was a great way to bring in the evening. It was very easy to work there, too. As for location, it wasn't even a minute's walk from the train station, which was a pleasant surprise. Close to all the shops and restaurants, and an solid place from which to base yourself for exploring, or just checking out the local amenities. I'm already looking into my return in the autumn.

Top marks for the cleaning staff room was spotless bathroom was very fresh with nice products. Loved the bathrobes and slippers nice touch. Fresh milk for your tea and coffee nice coffee machine.

We had a fantastic couple of days here. The reception staff were probably the best we have ever met, so helpful and friendly. In a hotel where parking is an issue due to its location, they offered excellent advice and assistance. The rooms were lovely and well appointed. The breakfasts were amazing as was dinner in the restaurant. The restaurant staff were very attentive and food excellent. The Haddock and chips were the best I've ever had. The view from the front over the harbour is beautiful, and air was quite bracing. The central location is perfect for the own center, distillery and for access to the ferry port only a three minute drive away.

Room was comfortable and quiet. Window opened for plenty of air and a pretty garden view. The bed was comfortable and had plenty of pillows, as well as an additional throw blanket in case of chill. Bathroom was immaculate, good sized shower. It was exactly what we wanted for our stay, a reasonably priced, nicely comfortable room. And the breakfast for the additional charge was really worth it! We stayed at a 4 star hotel in Glasgow the night previously, and the Maridon House breakfast was better and cost less than half!

Great location just up road from ferry terminal. And 5 min walk into high street. Comfy bed. Clean. Nice shower. Tea coffee in room. Friendly couple running. Superb breakfast. V tasty!! Very reasonable price. All good!

7min walk to Harbour to catch our ferry for the tour we were on. The owners were friendly to have a chat with. Rooms were clean and comfortable and the only accommodation we have encountered with a top sheet. Hooray!!! Breakfast was continental help yourself and it was amazing for the price of £5 each. Lovely fresh fruit, selection of yoghurt, and different breads and pastries with jams, cheese or cold meat. Thank you so very much we loved staying at your place.

Ideally situated B&B, easy walk to the center of Oban and yet far enough out to be q;uiet. Breakfast was delicious and the host was very helpful and accommodating. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Perfect for our needs!
