Great hotel with superb breakfast! We stayed one night with two kids. The room was very spacious (even with the additional bed). It had a big shower and a separate toilet. Only minor negative was that the window opened to the restaurant room. However, the ventilation was goot with the AC. At checkin I was offered a bag of freshly ground coffee which I prepared in the pour over in the room the next morning. The result was a great coffee - which left me wondering how this standard could be met at the breakfast. Little did I know, what awaited us downstairs. I have been to a number of very good hotels but this breakfast exceeded most of them. From a variety of seeds, homemade granola, banana bread, wortel tart (carrot cake), pancakes, overnight oats, yogurt (also vegan coconut), to all kinds of eggs, shakchuka, hummus, avocado and a lot more there was everything we desired. Also drinks were plentiful: great coffee, herbal teas, fresh juices, ginger shots… As you can see: a great hotel with even better breakfast!

A lovely few days staying at the Cityhotel Wood in Middelburg. Large rooms, hotel very clean throughout with fresh and modern interior decoration. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating. Visited with a large group. Enjoyed a delicious meal in the restaurant on the first night. Breakfast was varied, fresh and delicious. Located very close to the city centre. Also close to canal and windmills, worth a walk. Would highly recommend.

First time visit in this hotel. Sayer four nights. Very nice and modern style. Got a free welcome beer at checkin as well. The room was fresh and clean and very comfortable. Extra plus for the fridge to store your own food or drinks. Bed was very comfortable and the area was silent during the evening and the night. Breakfast area was very fresh and nice. Food selection was good with different types of hot food and different types of bread. Also different fruits every day. The only downside was that you could only get one type of yoghurt (coconut). Parking outside by the street was limited to 2 hours before 6 PM or after 8 AM. Quite normal in Middelburg according to my experience. All in all a good experience and I will probably stay here again.

Smart hotel with lovely staff and an easy walk to the town centre. The bar dining area is really nice and the breakfast was very good with multiple choices. Room 110 was clean , quiet and very well presented with a fridge & safe but no coffee/tea making facilities in the room.

Excellent one night rest stop on a cycling tour of the area. Room was large, like a small suite, very clean and great shower. Buffet breakfast was one of the best. Friendly staff and great location. Covered secure bike storage too under the hotel. Can't fault it.

Beautiful location and a fabulous lake view room made for a perfect getaway. We stayed 2 nights and would love to return to this awesome hotel. The service in the restaurant could improve as very slow service. The online booking for the restaurant does not seem to be noted on arrival and first come first served instead.

Amazing hotel with a great location and good facilities. The breakfast was absolutely amazing.The only thing they need to change are the mattresses.

Nice location, beautiful surroundings and nice, new hotel… The breakfast was well stocked… The bed was a bit soft and lumpy in our double bed room… I would suggest going with a queen size bed instead. Also, it’s weird that they have a coffee machine in the rooms but don’t provide one free water bottle for a stay of 2 nights… strange. Otherwise, it was fun!

We went for 6 days and it was absolutely amazing. The location, the stay, the owner, the design and the atmosphere were amazing. Beds were super comfortable and the nearby bars, restaurants and cafes amazing. We are looking forward to our next visit to Zierikzee.

These apartments are set a characterful small street only a few minutes walk to the town centre. We stayed in the top floor apartment which had amazing panoramic views. Ruud, the host, could not be more accommodating or welcoming.

Great location and very convenient to have free parking. Quality of furnishings lovely and air conditioning a real bonus. Comfy beds, quality bedding. Very helpful host. Would highly recommend .

Beautiful apartment! We had the yellow room which looked super new, as if just renovated. It was perfectly clean, including all the dishes in the mini kitchen (which is often a problem in other locations, but not here 😀👍). Very friendly host, easy and quick communication. I would definitely book this again for my next visit to Zierikzee!

Recently renovated hotel with beautiful, modern furnishings inside. The location is excellent, close to both the train station as well as the town centre, with everything within walking distance. The staff was kind, friendly and helpful throughout, and most of all we could enjoy a quiet night's sleep even with a full hotel! One particularly nice touch was the fully-furnished kitchenette as part of the room, including every amenity from oven to sink and dishwasher, which made our stay much more pleasant and stress-free. Our room was situated on the ground floor, with entrance from the small private courtyard which even had a separate entrance. This was very convenient, private and cosy with the outside seating area, perhaps even a social meeting spot with weather permitting. Overall, would definitely recommend!

I liked that the hotel is very close to the station and also within walking distance of lots of cafes, shops and restaurants. The hotel is gorgeous! So well furnished and spacious. The bed was comfortable, I LOVED the shower, it was so clean, and great WiFi! Check in and out also super handy.

Overall: A Very Good Experience! I will certainly return if I ever find myself in Middelburg again. My Personal Favorites: - Convenient Location: Just a few steps away from both the train station and the city center - Immaculately Clean & Beautifully Decorated: The room and bathroom were spotless and tastefully decorated -Sustainability: Impressive eco-friendly choices, from AC/heating to lighting and products—kudos! - Modern & Convenient Services: Self check-in and check-out, an easy-to-manage key card that provides 24/7 access, and quick staff responses. For instance, I left my toiletries bag behind, and they promptly informed me. Though I was already far away, they efficiently helped me arrange for it to be sent to my home. Super little hotel for great price. Absolutely super location at a stone’s throw from the station and in the city centre. Bijoux but complete room - clean and had all mod cons although the light switches took some working out, but that us all part of the fun. Nice toiletries and great in-room coffee and tea. A lovely bakery opposite sorts you out with great rolls and boluses. Comfortable and very quiet. Eclectic maybe not so much.

Everything about this place exceeded my expectations. The location is absolutely perfect—close to everything yet peaceful enough for a relaxing stay. The design is simply beautiful, with every detail carefully thought out to create a stylish and comfortable atmosphere. Plus, the daily cleaning service keeps everything spotless, adding to the overall comfort. Highly recommended!

Pros - Reasonably quiet - Comfortable king bed - Bathrobes provided ✔️ - 2 armchairs and a small occasional table in our room ✔️ - Outdoor “greenhouse” living room shared area - Kettle and coffee maker in room - Way out in the countryside - Coffee machine and fridge in a common kitchen area Cons - Small room, quite cramped - Nice shower but nowhere to put soap or shampoo. (The floor maybe??) - No shelf in bathroom for toiletries - B&B only. No restaurant as advertised - Very isolated. Car is a necessity as it’s way out in the countryside - Primarily a conference venue. - Room was quite cold - no A/C and heating didn’t work. This was a 2 day R&R stopover for us and we were looking forward to a quiet night and restful days. Lovely property which even has its own chicken run so you’re assured of fresh eggs for breakfast. Only problem with that is the rooster who starts crowing at the crack of dawn. However, all in all we enjoyed our stay here.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, they did their best to accommodate our stay. The rooms were so cozy and welcoming (not to mention well equipped), and the location overall was beautiful and well taken care of. The breakfast was great too, with plenty of options and really friendly staff!

The food, we had breakfast and dinner, was very good quality and the service delivered by everyone we were in touch with, was very professional and very kind and helpful.

Very well located in the centre of Zierikzee, private underground parking space, super friendly staff, a nice, big and comfy room and a clean bathroom, a bar, a fantastic restaurant and a superb breakfast buffet.

Excellent bike parking in a secure garage. We really enjoyed our stay here and found the location ideal for exploring the old port area and the charming streets nearby. The beds were very comfortable, the staff warm and helpful, the breakfast tasty, and the setting perfect—comforting and relaxing after a long 50‑mile (80‑km) ride.

The staff we exceptionally helpful and friendly. It was great having the car park under the hotel, particularly as the hotel is in the city so street parking is limited. You walk straight through from the car park into the hotel reception. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and nicely decorated. The location was great, right in the centre of the city. The breakfast was excellent with a great range.

Perfect breakfast and restaurant. Great SPA area. Very helpful and attentive staff both at the reception and in the restaurant. Overall, our family was positively impressed by this hotel and we highly recommend it.

Just across the bridge from the station and 5 minutes from the pedestrian area, this charming small hotel is perfect for a visit to Middelburg. For a small (9 room) hotel, the breakfast is good with a variety of meat, cheese, sweets, cereal and bread options. The owner will also make eggs to order. The coffee machine makes excellent coffee including cappuccino and other specialty drinks. The room was comfortable and the shower was good. There isn't a lot of closet space but enough for a few days and plenty of hangers. The only word of caution is that there is no lift and being an old herrenhuis, the stairs are a bit steep and narrow. Certainly not the worst we've seen (like the canal houses in Amsterdam) but could be an issue for some. Overall, an excellent value, comfortable room and great customer service. We will not hesitate to stay here on our next visit to Middelburg.

We were fortunate enough to rent the last hotel room for the night - Saturday 6th July 2014 when Holland was playing to secure a place in the semi-finals of the World Cup. The room was huge as was the bed which was, in addition, very comfortable. The room was clean and the shower excellent - in that I mean powerful. Breakfast buffet was superb with all the usual Dutch treats! Yum! 5 minutes from the centre very near to the railway centre. There is a cost for parking (opposite the hotel). The receptionist provided is with a token that was then added to our bill as we had no euros in cash. The receptionist was friendly and efficient. We could not have asked for more.

Cosy but spacious riverside hotel in the picturesque town of Middelburg, Zeeland with great amenities, friendly staff and super fast WiFi! The building is lovely, looks very traditional, but the hotel is very modern with all the amenities one would expect, whist the building retains all of its character. Beautifully clean and pristine. We would highly recommend! Just wish we were staying longer.

Both the internal and external theme or look of the accommodation. The location was especially convenient and in a nice area of town, where there were churches, parks and shops. The main room was great, spacious with a decent-sized bed, and two televisions (one facing the chairs, and the other facing the bed). There was another small room with two more beds, so it catered for at least 4 people. The bathroom was very modern and appealing. The staff were both friendly and helpful, and did everything they could to assist.

This is one of the best hotels that I have stayed in. After covering 260+ miles from London this hotel was just what we needed. The room was out of this world, the beds were really comfortable, the room was really spacious. The breakfast was perfect, one of the best I had ever had. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is situated in the historic center of Middelburg. It is a boutique hotel, all the rooms are different in style and size. I had the Grand DeLuxe Room #25 on the 2nd floor. The room was under the roof, spacious and comfortable with a bath and a separate shower. The decor was in good condition and everything was very clean. The only thing about the room: the two electricity sockets are on floor level and to plug in your telephone, laptop etc., you first have to crawl on your knees in a dark corner to disconnect the lights before you can use your electronics. Second: It should be mentioned on the homepage that there is no lift/elevator in the hotel. My room was on the second floor and to reach only by two very steep stone spiral stairs. I am elderly and have a walking disability and to walk these stairs up and down was very disagreeable for me. It said on the room information there is no elevator but only when you click for more information. It should be more clear that not all rooms are accessible to elderly people with heart/circulation problems (like myself), wheelchairs or to people with baby prams. The staff was very helpful in getting my luggage down (I couldn’t have managed on my own) but especially when you are not completely mobile, it feels uncomfortable to depend for help on others. Even with a handicap I want to travel and feel independent. That said: the staff was friendly and helpful. For atmosphere, luxury and location: 9. Accesibity: 4.

Excellent service in a nicely designed space with plenty of amenities. I loved having a TV were the chromecast actually worked so I could listen to some music while relaxing. Staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast spread was simply too much for any one person. We were cycling and needed fuel and not one person came close to finishing what was provided. Everything was very tasty. Though I had a room facing the square on ground level, things were quiet and relaxing. Plenty to do within walking distance. A real gem on our trip and worth a return someday.

The beds were very comfortable and the shower was lovely; the shampoo, conditioner and shower gel smelled really good. The breakfast was delicious and very fresh. The hotel location was amazing.

An excellent boutique hotel right in the centre of this lovely atmospheric town. It is also a very good restaurant serving excellent fish dishes. An old building, it has been very nicely restored with charm and taste. The staff are helpful and the buffet breakfast plentiful and fresh. We'd be more than happy to stay there again and it also has plenty of parking in a rear yard.

Gorgeous little family-owned boutique hotel in the centre of quaint adorable Veere - an ideal place from which to explore Walcheren. Large stylish room and bathroom with all the expected amenities (coffee and tea in the room, A/C, good WiFi, fluffy towels and high end toiletries), comfortable bed, very quiet. Very friendly staff and owners, welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was abundant and served in the attached restaurant which is also worth checking out for lunch or dinner.

Location location! I had a spacious room on the first floor with view of the Market Square. I felt very comfortable in the room although there was a heat wave, but the room had been ventilated well and as it doesn't get sun, it was perfect for me (I try to avoid AC as much as possible). I did use 1 ventilator just before going to bed. It is right in the middle of gorgeous historical Veere. Just amazing. Almost felt like a local being able to walk around the whole town. Price/quality was great. Excellent breakfast in the beautiful historical breakfast room (great eggs and bacon). Parking was no issue, I offloaded first and then found a spot at the nearby parking lot (200 meters away). As luck had it, the following day of my stay was the first historical market of the season right underneath my window. Every Tu from July-Sept Locals dressed up historically selling all kinds of typical products, from mustard to handpainted Oyster shells.

Lovely hotel in this beautiful small town. Very friendly staff and very comfortable room and modern en-suite. Great breakfast with both fresh hot and cold choices. Although restaurant was closed in the evening there are other great restaurants in the town. Highly recommended

Our second visit in two weeks and, again, an excellent culinary experience. The restaurant was virtually full, giving a warm ambiance which was accentuated by the friendly welcome. Our simple two course menu of a tomato and paprika soup followed by , for my wife a beautifully presented dish of zeeduivel (monkfish) and for me a delicious pork chop, was accompanied by an excellent white Rioja (Sonsierra bodega). The chevalier du tastevin played also the role of waiterl and remembered our earlier visit (perhaps because we were unfortunate then to have received a corked wine - which was immediately replaced!) and, as previously, served us perfectly professionally with a full description of the menu and friendly attentive service. All in all an excellent restaurant at a reasonable price! We will definitely re-visit.

We had a suite where there was a couch in the living room which turns into a very cozy, soft, big bed for 2 people! Breakfast was delicious and more than enough to start the day! The town is amazing! We only stayed for one night but the experience was very good. Warm welcome on arrival and quick and efficient check in. We had three rooms between us, two on the fourth floor and one on the second floor. The two on the fourth floor were easily accessible via the lift. They were spacious with large bathroom’s. Mine was on the second floor which was a bit of a “faff” to get to as it involved going up in the lift and then strangely have to then go down two flights of stairs to get to the room. If you have mobility issues you would want to avoid these rooms. Once there however the room was comfortable with an amazingly comfortable bed. The shower room was very small. I did however have a very good view to the front of the property overlooking the canal. Breakfast was very good with plenty of hot and cold choices. There is a very large comfortable bar but the hotel doesn’t offer evening meals although a ten minute walk and you’re in the centre of town so plenty of places to eat. Parking is available both on the street and a small car park beside the canal. Both are chargeable between 8am and 8pm but you can buy discounted tickets at reception. Failing this there is a free car park behind the station a 2 min walk across the canal. I would definitely stay here again if I’m in Middelburg.

This is an absolutely beautiful “Boutique” Hotel overlooking the main canal going through Middelburg. The train station is on the other side of the canal offering easy access to hotel and bike rentals. The rooms and entire hotel were spotless with modern spacious rooms. Nice buffet breakfast with dining room also overlooking the canal. We enjoyed the outside on street patio with heaters which were perfect to sit out at night. Eduard the owner and his daughter make the Hotel feel warm & friendly. This Hotel with all it’s amenities and location is the Perfect place to stay in Middelburg.

Regular visitors to Middelburg but first time at this hotel. My son and his family live a few minutes walk away that's why we chose this hotel. Situated across a canal from train station made it easy to find. Very friendly welcome. The place was very clean with good facilities. Room fairly spacious with a view of the canal. Bathroom excellent with everything you need in it . A Tv and coffee machine topped it off. Breakfast buffet excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would certainly stop there again. Not forgetting the excellent choice of beers in the bar.

This hotel is a great place to stay in Middelburg. Me and my family stayed in 2 rooms for a weeks stay with free breakfast included. The breakfast was absolutely wonderful, there was a range of drinks from hot to cold, and a good selection of food, a little bit of continental and a little bit of hot food, which is always replenished by staff quite frequently. The dinner service is also delicious, they have a set menu, but also have a different special every day. All the staff are very helpful and friendly, always happy to have a nice conversation and help wherever they can, the atmosphere they have created is delightful. The rooms are quite comfy whether you have a twin double or a double bed. The bathrooms as well are very nice. You can change the temperature to accommodate how you feel, whether it's hot or cold, and you have ample space to put your luggage. Overall, this is an excellent hotel, lovely atmosphere, great staff, beautiful food and a comfortable room. We very much enjoyed our stay, a very large thank you to the staff for making our stay memorable! ☺️

We enjoyed our stay very much. Very nice and helpful staff who couldn't do enough for us. The room that we had was large and comfortable and very clean. it looks like they have been refurbished. The breakfast buffet was great - well stocked with both hot and cold selections.We ate in the restaurant, which is also very popular with locals, on two occasions. they food and presentation is of a high standard. The House wines are also good.There is plenty of free parking and the Wifi works well.The terrace overlooks the Schelde and in the right weather you can relax with a drink and watch the ships going to and from Antwerp.Its just 15 minutes walk to the market Square where there are good restaurants and a range of shops. Its a good base for touring as we did. Ghent; Antwerp;Bruges are driveable within one hour for each. To the North thru the Schelde Tunnel are really lovely Towns, Villages and Beaches and the roads are not crowded.We chose tis hotel as its a Hampshire property, looked good and had easy/free parking and found looking around that this hotel in our opinion is best in the area. They do like feedback and during our stay mentioned that we didn't appreciate an automatic bathroom light which wakes you up if you need to use at night and that we think it a bit backward that you have to get a key for the mini safe leaving a deposit - why not have a code! Lastly that they have a good coffee machine at Breakfast but only one so when busy a queue forms. We recommend highly.

The room was spacious, bathroom clean. The hotel overall looks good and the surrounding area is nice. The views from the restaurant are beautiful. Breakfast was good, includes fresh yoghurt and a lot of pastries to choose from.

Excellent location for a business trip. Friendly and excellent customer service. Responded to my special request and were very accommodating. Beds are very comfortable and the rooms light and airy which I love. The fans are an absolute must right now and much appreciated. The restaurant is also excellent with impeccable service and this is even translated into the room service. The restaurant and terrace are great spaces to relax with a nice ambiance and the views of the water of from there are lovely.

This was our 2nd time at the Toren, and was just as good as the previous time. Veere is a very special place, full of history (with Scottish connections too), and has beautifully preserved architectural gems. The village exudes peace and relaxation, and the Hotel is very laid back and welcoming. We had a main room last time (room 1) with lovely views to 3 sides, and this time were in the annex, again with great views over the water. The rooms are bright, well equipped and cosy. Dinner is worth having in the beautiful dining room of the tower, and food / wine quality was excellent. The staff are helpful and friendly. Next time we will spend 2 nights.

I must admit that I love historic hotels but due to frequent trips usually try to save. This time the circumstances allowed to spend a little more and we didn't regret. The reception, restaurant and the main building rooms are located in the medieval tower on the banks of Veerse Meer. And I loved both the interior and exterior. The pier behind the tower is ideal place for walking and enjoing the views. The breakfast (you'll get it in the main building (the tower) was good but my mood was dominated by medieval interior of the restaurant. Can't say much about tower apartments, our room was in one of the adjacent buildings but it was big, extremely clean and very charmingly decorated recalling the bedrooms of times half a century ago. To sum up it's place that worth to visit especially if your route lies in this direction but there isn't much to do in Veere itself - small town with a small central are with several restaurants and shops.

This is the third time we have stayed at this magical hotel- the first time was on our honeymoon 25 years ago, then at our 10th anniversary and this time, our silver wedding. We stayed in the Tower Suite- it was beautiful. Fabulous views across the water, very clean and well appointed. The bath in the bedroom window was luxurious and the sauna was a real treat! All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant is smart and menu deli y. We found the service to be excellent. Veere itself is a treat to explore. We hired bikes and cycled to the local town, Middelburg- where there was a food market which we enjoyed strolling through. All in all, a wonderful stay in a very special place.

What a wonderful hotel! The most magical location and a stunning hotel. Our dual aspect room was a delight with superb views over the marina and Meere at one side, and the pretty square at the other. Everywhere was the beautiful architecture of medieval Veere - at times it was like being in a Vermeer painting. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly, everywhere was spotlessly clean. The dining room, situated in the tower, was beautiful, with original paintings of local views (many by JD Koets) on the walls. The food was excellent. We took our own cycles and were offered secure, undercover "parking" in the lovely walled garden. Everything about this trip was magical - from the hotel itself, to the tiny town (we were lucky enough to see it on one of the Dutch market days), the marina full of yachts, the boats on the Meere, the canal and its huge lock, the ramparts, the windmill, and even the wonderful rope ferries. Our four days was definitely too short, but hopefully we will be back one day for a second Veere experience.

A beautiful old building in the heart of the charming waterside town of Veere. Great views, and our room was lovely. Tastefully and beautifully decorated and a very comfy bed. From the auberge, you step right onto the quayside. Breakfast was served in the stunning dining room overlooking the lake and was absolutely delicious. The staff were lovely and very helpful.

Positives are that the staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming. Especially in reception and in the restaurant. Nice menu - plenty of options. The terrace is nice. Comfortable double bed in the room and has a fridge which is useful. Would be better if smokers could be restricted to their own area on the terrace. Decor is quite dark in the hotel and the rooms. During the heatwave room was very hot. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room.

Excellent hotel with helpful staff. Breakfast and dinners are most enjoyable and dinner is mostly reasonably priced. Location is excellent with (at a higher charge) marvellous views over the deepsea traffic to Antwerp, on the Schelde river. For UK visitors beware - NO BBC stations are available.

I have stayed here twice now. Rooms are simple, good shower and clean throughout. Check in is easy. Other hotel guests slamming doors can be a little noisy. Breakfast is good, with buffet selection of hot and cold. Fresh bread every morning. Bar open until 23:00

Lovely clean large rooms, close to town, friendly staff, nothing was too much effort. Even ringing around to get a replacement wheelchair after my mum's wheelie walker broke on our first day there. Simply loved all the helpful staff. Breakfast was great, a lovely variety available.

Hotel was clean, whole check-in was smooth and the receptionist answered all our questions. There is a bike rental option in hotel. Room was clean, but in my opinion it needs a little bit of refreshing (including bathroom as the shower was not as I was expecting). Breakfast was good - not much choice but there was a hot food (sausages, eggs, mushrooms etc) simple cold platter and plenty of pastries. Good choice of coffees and teas, will be back again.

He hotel is a very nice classy old European hotel in the border is the small Midelburg, where you can find shops and amazing restaurants. The people in the hotel will help you to ensure a comfortable stay. The sugar bread is a must to try in the breakfast.

Amazing! Atmospheric place and attentive hosts. Nice small hotel in the old post office, where you feel at home. And this is the motto of the owners. You almost see them. The hotel has only 4 rooms and a comfortable lounge. There's a postal stained-glass window and delicious free coffee))) The hotel is well located. About 300 m to the oyster farm Oesterij and the center of Yerseke, near the new church and pizzeria.

Adorable cosy hotel which used to be a post office. The owners Janneke and Marix were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We loved the great variety for breakfast. Fresh fruit salad every morning. Everyday we could choose among having pancake or omelet or egg and bacon.

The room was spacious and well appointed with a huge bed and lots of sitting options. The bathroom had a big shower and was lovely and modern. At breakfast the food was delicious and top ups of coffee freely offered. The breakfast room is beautiful with lovely decoration and a stunning clock, it really was easy to imagine yourself back in time. The attention to detail was particular abundant with great presentation at breakfast. The warm welcome and genuine hospitality shined and was what made our stay so special. I would recommend the property highly and will certainly be going back.

The B&B is a short 15 minute walk from Middelburg train station and very easy to find. The owners are extremely friendly and welcoming, offering suggestions for restaurants, pubs and general areas of interest - even providing us with discount vouchers for the local museum! The room itself is nicely decorated and had a wonderfully comfortable bed. Everything was spotlessly clean and smelled fresh. The breakfast was plentiful and appetising - something to get up early for! Overall a very relaxing and luxurious stay.

The staff communicated consistently after booking and asked if I had any special requests. The breakfast was excellent in a stylish yet traditional dining room. The staff were very friendly and helped me arrange a nice surprise for my partner's birthday during our stay. The bed was comfortable and the shower had relatively strong water pressure. Tea and coffee were available in the room which made for a nice way to start the day before the tasty breakfast.

My husband and I booked this B&B as the first stop on our honeymoon. We arrived in Middelburg by train around 3:30 in the afternoon and after checking the map, we made our way there on foot (about a 15 minute walk, lugging suitcases). When we arrived, we were greeted by the host, Simon, who was very friendly and immediately took us up to our room (and carried my suitcase). We made small talk about our trip while he showed us where everything was, discussed my love of having our own coffee maker available in the room, and upon discovering that my husband was sick, he went down to the kitchen and returned with hot tea and honey for him. The 400-year-old building is beautifully decorated and modern without losing the old-world charm. It's clear that the hosts took the time to preserve the history, while updating the house to maximize style and comfort. Breakfast was served for a large portion of the morning, at 1 of 2 large communal tables, but we were free to show up downstairs whenever we wanted within the timeframe and food was brought out to us on a large platter - a variety of meats, cheeses and bread/buns, as well as fresh fruit, eggs, sweet buns, and bottomless coffee and juice. Simon was more than happy to chat with us about the house and the town, but we never felt awkward like we weren't able to get away. It was just right. Also, there is a cat ("Jimmy") who lives there as well, but doesn't go up to the rooms. Just happy and content to lay in the hall and be petted.

Absolutely wonderful two nights in Middleburg - fantastic bed and breakfast - quiet - comfortable bed and amazing breakfast - staff were exceptionally helpful - fully recommend this B & B

We have never been hosted so well in the Netherlands before! Very lovely owners, wonderful dinners and delicious breakfast served on-site, and very pleasant conversations throughout our stay. This beautifully restored old farm has been split into two areas, on one side there are 4 big rooms, a huge kitchen/dining/breakfast area, and a conference room, and the other side is the owner's home. The rooms are very practical, clean and well-decorated, all appliances are clean and work perfectly fine, the beds are very comfortable, so we will definitively come back during the summer!

Perfect little guest house beautifully located with very nice owners! We had a super cozy room, everything was nicely decorated and well taken care of and we enjoyed a delicious breakfast each morning. We felt very comfortable and enjoyed our stay a lot, thank you very much for having us!

It is a very cosy nice place, nice decorated and i felt really at home. The weather was bad, thats why we didn't use the terrasses outside to much, but they look great. From the location you find bikeroads, a little port, restaurants and so on, very close. The breakfast was outstanding.

The breakfast was lovely with very polite staff serving. Really nice safe location opposite one of the canals and on the edge of the town centre only 500m walk from the restaurants and shops with quick access to the national dual carriageway/motorway. What an amazing hotel! Great location a few minutes walk from the heart of Middelburg. Very high quality finish and fittings throughout the room and the rest of the hotel. There has clearly been a lot of thought and careful consideration gone into the renovation of the building and creation of this wonderful hotel. The hostess was fabulous! So welcoming and friendly and helpful and the breakfast was perfect. I'll most definitely be back!

This is a beautiful boutique hotel. Not big and you have to be agile to manage the stairs to the basement for breakfast but it was well worth it for the great coffee and delicious breads on offer. The view from our comfort room onto the harbour was delightful. The town is very picturesque with a good variety of shops, restaurants and bars.

What's not to like? The room was stylish and comfortable and everything you could think of was available. They sure have an eye for detail. The bathroom was super with the toilet as the cherry on top! Also breakfast was amazing, fresh fruit, bread rolls, croissant, yoghurt, eggs cooked specially for you the way you like them. Just an allround amazing experience!

Clean hotel with an interestingly unique interior, with exceptionally clean and equipped rooms and bathrooms. On a more than great location, in the town centre and just 5 min walk from the train station. Has a very cute and cozy café downstairs and great breakfast provided. The staff is exceptionally kind, friendly and helpful, ensuring amazing and comfortable stay and service. My mom and grandma loved their stay here! :)

An amazing place! Everything was perfect. Everybody makes you feel at ease, as if you were at home. The staff was very professional and friendly. The location is ideal. The room was really great. They even allowed us to use the terrace and the fridge if we needed it ( a SMEG fridge by the way!). Breakfast was included in the price and it was really good and full. I can only recommand you this place and needless to say I will come back as soon as possible.

Spacious room, friendly staff and great breakfast. The hotel is in the centre of Veere with everything in walking distance. The room was very clean and the beds comfortable. Our room even had a small outside seating area: perfect for the warm summer evening.

The hotel had beautiful features and was on a quiet street, with a garden out back to enjoy. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and breakfast in the dining room made a great start to each day.

Just a phone call away :-) The appartments are small, but for only a few nights or one night it's a perfect place to be! The beach is very nice and big and you only have a few minute to go! It was a 2 mins walk to the beach. Very clean and cozy apartment. If you go during winters, you can do oyster picking it’s perfect and in the summer just go to the beach in less than 2 mins

This hotel is a hidden gem. Perfectly located between train station and the beautiful old city centre all within walking distance. Rooms, and dining room were bright, inviting, clean and had everything one needs for a memorable stay. Staff was friendly, helpful and competent. Breakfast was included and was delicious. We had a wonderful time and will definitely come back to this hotel in the future.

The hotel was really nice and well-kept throughout. They communicated well at all times and check-in was easy (remote) and seamless. Our room was a good size and well-appointed. The shower was lovely. We also had a view over the canal which was nice. Breakfast was solid and expected continental standards. Staff were friendly and helpful at all times. The value was excellent compared to the very tatty Campanile I stayed at the night before. The location was decent too, not right in the middle of the town but perfectly walkable.

I stayed in a room with kitchenette which had a private entrance around the corner from the front door. It is very light (windows floor to ceiling across the front) but care has been taken to ensure privacy with translucent window coverings. The bed is comfortable. The kitchenette is small but sufficient to make small meals possible. The bathroom is very clean and roomy enough. Breakfast was not elaborate, but fresh and with some variety. The coffees were freshly made (not from a machine!). The location is ideal to the train station and also to the center of the city (all within easy walking distance). It was great that I could pick up my room key when it suited me by using a code.

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely, homey property. The house has a very authentic, charming feel and was impeccably clean. We stayed on the top floor, which had three spacious bedrooms—perfect for our family of three (my partner, our four-year-old, and myself). The facilities were excellent, providing everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was great, not far from the beach, which made it easy for us to enjoy our time outdoors. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the instructions for check-in and check-out were clear and simple.

Superb location and a beautiful apartment with very spacious rooms, and lovely views over the harbour. The building looks fantastic and the windows in the living room are huge to enjoy the views. It's just around the corner from the main market square with plenty of restaurants, pubs and shops. There is a choice of main supermarkets, all are within 5 minutes walk. Definitely would recommend it to others.

This is the best place where we lived in during the whole tour in Holland! I was astonished when the extremely friendly host waiting for me in front of de department! The whole department is ours!!!!! There're 3 floors. One bedroom is locating on the first floor and is with the extra big private restroom. The super well cleaned and decorated living room is on the 2nd floor. And last two bedrooms are on the 3 floors. It's just around the habour so you will have the best view of the river. I would say, definitely out of expectation and out of this price!!

This is a beautifully renovated traditional Dutch property with huge rooms, high ceilings and modern facilities. The view across the harbour is stunning. There are numerous eateries nearby and the town is a real hidden gem located in a beautiful part of the Netherlands, and is just over a two hour drive from the Eurotunnel terminal at Calais, making it easy to access from anywhere in the southeast of England. There are delightful communal areas and a hidden patio to enjoy, especially if you are staying with friends.

We rented the house and the two bedroom apartment. The location and the view from the house living room is great. Comfortable beds. Kitchens were really well equipped. Clean spaces. Host is responsive.

Excellent hotel! We stayed for two days and here are some things we especially liked: - the room, which is very spacious and clean, plus it has a very nice balcony/patio, and you can actually open the door/let fresh air in; - the breakfast, which had everything we wanted, e.g., scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, vegetables, coffee/tea, fruit salad, yoghurt, muesli, pastry, etc. You could have breakfast either inside or outdoors; - the building, which is absolutely beautiful; - the service, we asked for a twin bed room, request which they granted, moreover, the receptionist was kindly called a taxi for us when we checked out. We were also given the option to save 6 Euro for every day we chose not to have cleaning done. We opted out, since we reckoned we would bring sand to the room which we wanted removed. But it was a good option to have nevertheless.

Breakfast was fabulous. Walking distance to town. Honor system for drinks..amazing. clean and comfortable. Amazing shower.

This lovely historical property is in a wonderful location, very central but peaceful as well. We enjoyed the experience of staying in a piece of history, in comfort. There are 2 suites on the ground floor and we stayed in both of them. The rooms both have a lot of natural daylight coming in, high ceilings, rain shower and comfortable beds. We liked the personal touches such as refreshments in the fridge and a selection of teas beautifully presented. The owner was welcoming and friendly. As we were staying in the center, everything was walking distance. We would love to come back.

The buildings itself was beautiful with plenty of character and we both loved our room (Zee Suite). Everything was spotless clean, the bed the most comfortable I ever slept in in a hotel and there were plenty of additional touches which just made our stay even more special (selection of green teas, sweet treats etc.). We were also allowed to keep our bikes on site which was greatly appreciated. Great location with lots of cafés and restaurants nearby. I'd definitely return to this place.

Fantastic!! This was our favourite hotel!! We were travelling for three weeks so stayed in many places but this one stood out from them all. The hosts were friendly and accommodating. The beds and pillows were super comfortable. The decor was perfect. The host provided us with a map of the area and restaurants which was super helpful. My husband unfortunately needed a doctor during our stay and the host got us an appointment with the local doctor within an hour!!! The breakfast was delicious!! Again, this hotel was our absolute favourite place to stay and we highly recommend it to other travellers.

Bed was hard but perfect. 2 pillows were made our dreams perfect. The suite has everything for living: kitchen with river view, amazing shower, toilet Rituals items. We would like to thank you Monique for super care and hosting. She was taking care about guests, you are feeling well after that. Only one suggest is about breakfast. The hotel has their own restaurant and breakfast could be more wide and has more options. But inspite of that we had boiled eggs, frash bread, cheese, salami. Good attention from hostess. So, we are recommended Boutique Hotel Zeeuws-Meisje for traveller's.

The room was spacious and the furnishings and decor were of a high quality. Due to the very restricted parking you have to use a public car park but there is a free one very close by. The hotel is near the centre of town and the shorts walks to the centre are very pleasant as is the town. The breakfast was excellent with a varied buffet and hot dishes made to order. The room rate was very reasonable for August. The restaurant is also open for dinner and the food is excellent but is run as a separate business.

To speak more about the room, they were clean, cozy , comfortable, and spacious rooms, with an attic that our daughter loved...she could see "long john" from her window! It had all the amenities of a 5 star hotel and more...., including chocolates,, filter coffee, fruits and fresh flowers replenished every 3 days.... what more can you ask for... It was such a romantic, beautiful, old and well-kept bed and breakfast with a lot of history! The owners were incredibly kind and even took a photo of us with a polaroid that we got to keep as a nice souvenir! The breakfast was absolutely delicious, the bed was really comfortable, and we also got fantastic recommendations for dinner! so overall our entire stay was amazing and we would highly recommend it to anyone!

It was a beautiful room with a comfortable bed and a great view; the bathroom was divine, with a huge shower!!! It is in an amazing, very central location in Middelburg. We wouldn't stay anywhere else if we went again. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff was friendly and very helpful. just something to be aware of—there isn't a traditional reception. However, you contact the hotel shortly before arriving, and they will meet you to give you the entrance code and the garage parking (a few blocks away but an AMAZING perk).

Parking and bicycle storage very safe in locked garage with key code, but at a remote location 350m from the accommodation. Good large shower with plenty of hot water. Beautiful restored house from the 17th century. Air conditioning and good soundproof windows. Breakfast was individual, plentiful and so fresh. Hot eggs dishes made to order.

Upon arrival, I was assigned a room without balcony although my booking was with balcony. Calling the owner, this was sorted out and I could move into the balcony room, but apparently there is only one such room available in the house, so I recommend to clarify this beforehand. I was just lucky that the room was free at that very moment. All the rest was fantastic, the location couldn't be better for walking tours, free parking in short distance (just drive a bit around to find those places), the apartment is well equipped, there is an additional public kitchen with laundry facilities and oven, everything is clean, it's nicely quiet, good wifi. Absolutely recommendable.

The view of the apartment was facing the beautiful little harbour. Coffee and a coffee maschine as well as tea was provided. The bathroom and shower where spacious.

Great location close to bars and restaurants but still a quiet location for sleeping, the beds were very comfy and it was nice and clean

Cosy little room in a really nice renovated old house right next to the harbour. We arrived late that day after cycling from Roosendaal and the check-in as well as storing the bikes was super easy. Restaurants and food options nearby are plentyful, just keep in mind that depending on the day they might close earlier than in bigger towns. The owner of the house was also very helpful and nice to chat with in the morning before we left.

We loved how stylish our room was. We got a room 2, on the ground floor, it was spacious! Everything in the room was clean, organised and well put together. It was very convenient that everything was via phone - check in, check out, entering the building and room.

This was my second stay at hotel Bruno and i really enjoyed it! The room was exceptionally clean, the bed super comfortable. Many people in the reviews complain about the noise, but I actually had 4 peaceful nights of sleep there! I really like this place, will definitely come back.

The decor is really fun and original. The location is perfect - in the centre, close to a parking, with lots of cafes and shopping around. The beds, pillows and covers are comfortable.

The room itself was amazing. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The shower and small entryway also provided lots of space to spread out our gear.

The spa facility was amazing. The rooms were comfortable. Staff was very helpful and always very friendly. Breakfast was good but it doesn't start until 7:30. I did get the to go breakfast one day which was ok quality but it was convenient since I could pick it up by 7 am. Probably the best shower I have had in a long time. The restaurant food was good.

The room was excellent in every respect: from the flooring to the ceiling decorations! It had a great balcony, good amenities (chocolates hiding underneath the coffee machine and kettle!). The bed was very large and gave a great night's sleep: comfortable with high-quality bedding. The room was totally silent. As a space, it was a good place to be. The staff were also very pleasant, helpful, and efficient. Check-in and out took moments.

I stay in a lot of hotels and this is one of the best! The bed was superb. The location couldn't be better, right on the town square. The staff were very friendly. Excellent shower. Good tea/coffee making facilities. The blue tooth sound bar was greatly appreciated so that we could blast out heavy metal whilst getting ready to go out for the day!

The property is in perfect location. The pool/sauna/steam room is a real added bonus. We stayed in the older side which did not have lifts, so if you struggle with stairs make sure you pick the right rooms. If you stay a Saturday night it’s perfect for breakfast on the Sunday as lots of places are closed. We loved sitting outside the area is very relaxing and inviting. We would definitely recommend and stay again

Room was bright and comfortable, good bed, functioning bathroom - all fixtures working. Friendly staff - even when in the morning the alarm went off, the staff stayed calm and di their best to solve the problems. Location is great, with restaurants and cafes in walking distance. Even on a Friday evening when the town was buzzing, the room was quiet!

There was a tremendous breakfast served in the garden courtyard (best bread & pastries ever- yum!) The location is perfect- set on one of the main canals which made it a pleasure to sit and watch the world pass by. We had a safe place to store our bikes and there were lots of great restaurants to choose from. Middelburg is one of our favourite cities in the Netherlands- well worth a visit:)

Lovely attention to detail from the room to breakfast. Breakfast was substantial, continental, well presented & enjoyed overlooking the garden. Room was well presented, clean, tidy & had everything we needed, comfy beds, good lighting, kettle, coffee machine, eating & seating area. Hot running water for the shower, hairdryer, plenty of sockets & mirrors for personal grooming. Toilet just outside the room. Fridge outside the room for guests to purchase wine & beer for a small charge. Free local car park, 15 minute walk away, all shops & restaurants 10 minute walk. Lovely small town not far to visit other places within an hours drive.

One of the best B&B's I have stayed in, the room was large with a very comfortable bed and tea/coffee facilities. Breakfast was excellent and there was a great choice. Parking is a short walk away in a free public car park. Zierikzee is a fairly large town with a nice harbour and pleasant town center. The landlady was very friendly and helpful.

We had a fantastic stay at this lovely hotel. The location was perfect. The owner was very kind and helpful. The room was charming with a beach theme. It was clean, modern, spacious and had extras such as comfortable sitting chairs, a kitchen and a nice shower. We were on the 3rd floor and appreciated the elevator. There was secure storage for our bikes. We also appreciated that there was laundry available. This was our 15th hotel stay on this vacation and absolutely our favourite!!

Spacious, well equipped, clean and stylish apartments. The hosts have been very friendly and helpful, the breakfast buffet is small but everything is really fresh and tasty.

Our ground floor room was attractive, comfortable and very well equipped, making it easy to make some of our own meals rather than eating out all the time. There were some nice touches in the room such as games and books, and there were lots of information leaflets about local attractions. We made use of the on-site laundrette and the courtyard garden. The location was great - easy to find, a very short walk into the town centre, and very handy for the Spar shop and cycle hire at the station. Lots of places to eat in town - the bakeries are great for coffee and pastries. Our hosts were friendly and welcoming and full of helpful information. We could easily have stayed longer. Parking wasn't too difficult - we paid for an hour's parking just round the corner to load and unload our bags, and then left the car in the multi-storey car park about 200 metres away the rest of the time. We could easily have stayed longer.

Very cosy apartment, nicely decorated, fully equipped, with a spacious bathroom, well located, and with a delicious garden! But what really stands out are the hosts and management team. Jacqueline and René are very nice, hospitable, and helpful. Don´t miss their advice and suggestions, as they may make your stay in Middelburg much more interesting and enjoyable! We are very grateful and convinced that we will return to ApartHotel Waepen van Middelburg in the near future for a pleasant, and hopefully longer, stay.

The history of the building, old beautiful, stayed on the top floor with high ceilings and beautiful wooden beams, the comfortable big bed, the old school large window with the view to the harbour, evening sun and lake, the large bathtub and nice bathroom, it was just very idyllic and comfortable.

We recently stayed at this hotel and was very pleased with our experience. The location is fantastic, offering easy access to local attractions. Our deluxe room with a lake view was super cozy and impeccably clean, making it a perfect retreat.

The historic building, lovely big rooms and modern bathrooms, situated across from the harbour, outside terrace, staff were extremely helpful and friendly and food was great.

A really excellent breakfast; so often in otherwise good hotels the orange juice is not made from freshly squeezed oranges, but in the Hotel De Heeren it was fresh and delicious. This is only a minor detail, but it helped to make our stay really perfect.

Very nice hotel, clean and spacy room with beautiful view on the harbour and the lake. Great and friendly staff serving a beautiful breakfast in the morning.

Very spacious and comfy room, with plenty of facilities, nice and friendly owner, and great breakfast set. Old stylish building. Conveniently located, walking distance to the train station, city center, and supermarket. We stayed during the weekend, but had no problems with noise from the street. Unfortunately we had no time to enjoy the bar this time, but we hope to come back for that. Good value overall.

We stayed in a very spacious attic apartment in this old building (adjoining the pub, with large wooden beams overhead. It was very comfortable and delightful. Breakfast was left to be eaten in the room or on the adjacent patio, The breakfast was substantial and varied. We were very satisfied with it. If you are over 6'4" you may have a problem with headroom in this room.

The best place to stay in the Netherlands. Located in a national park, nothing can disturb you except the birdsong. Large room, very clean and decorated with a lot of charm. Your own sauna, clean and well-kept, is a big plus. The host is special, very attentive and extremely well-informed, always ready to give you the best advice about the area and the Netherlands in general. The breakfast is balanced and very tasty (the homemade brownies were perfect). A place 2 steps from the sea where we will definitely return.

The place was like a paradise... So quiet and peaceful, so close to the nature and the sea. We could totally relax there and forget about being so exhausted especially in our little sauna after all day cycling... Amazing! The breakfasts were very good and all the team was helpful and friendly!

The best B & B in Middelburg. Jaqueline is a perfect host, awesome friendly and always smiling. De Biecorff is an wonderful historic bildung with modern design. Room Nr. 1, Appartement, a lot of space, own kitchen, living and bed room. And it was quiet. The breakfast was perfect too. The location is close to all sightseeing attractions and to the beaches.

Cafés, restaurants and stores are within walking distance. Nevertheless, the apartment was very quiet. We were very happy with the accommodation.

Friendly staff. Lovely quiet location. Simple, self serve breakfast. We stayed out of season so the whole village was very quiet. Room was very clean, and the mattress was very comfortable. The lady doing breakfast was very helpful and gave us details of where to hire bikes for the day. Ask for a room facing the waterfront, rather than overlooking the flat roof.

We liked the hotel, it has excellent location, interesting design and very friendly atmosphere. A bit tiny bathroom and shower cabine, and not big size of single rooms, but very comfortable bed, nice view from window, for short stay it is a perfect place. The breakfast was good.

Very friendly family owned hotel. The restaurant is welcoming and serves good food and wine.

The breakfast at the cafe on the ground floor was excellent, especially the coffee (...but that's their specialty). We had booked both rooms, 1st and 2nd floors. The top room was very spacious, under the roof. Lighting was not great for reading, but not a problem. The first night it was very noisy at the pub next door, but the shouting and singing did stop at 22h00 sharp. The windows being original and not double-glazed, there were moments when we could hear loud passers-by all through the night. And of course the church bells every hour...earplugs recommended! But on the whole it was a delightful stay in the heart of this so historic small city. We rented e-bikes at the Cyclehub, that has a vast selection of bikes, friendly service and fair prices. It was an easy ride to Veere, a charming small town on the water of Veersemeer, and then northwards to the North Sea coast. We made a circuit of the trip, but there are many options...

The location, the view from the room, the amazing breakfast, and the smell of croissants in the morning.

Yolanda is really keen to please her guests. She was reactive to some little issues we had with (new) heating system. Fixed immediately ;-) The breakfast is amazing. We had our own bikes but free electrical bikes are available which is not so frequent. I have recommended this location to friends!

The location of the flat is perfekt. The host is very friendly. The breakfast was absolutely great

The location, the infrastructure, the fine breakfast. The host is very sympathic, calm and not overwhelming. The family is also living there but we actually were surprised they were. The house is not noisy at all.
