Hotels with Jacuzzi in Room in Guimarâes

We're American expats living in Portugal for a few years. We stayed at the Cidnay because my wife needed surgery at a nearby hospital and it was too far of a drive from our apartment in Porto. The front office staff was friendly (and spoke English since my Portuguese is still quite limited) and had us checked in within five minutes. The rooms are roomy by European standards and the beds are very comfortable. The hotel steps down the side of a hill with a view of a valley and hills beyond, so each room has a nice view and balcony. Our room had a writing desk and two comfy chairs with a small table. The hotel has a small fitness center and is very quiet. The bathroom was a nice size and all the amenities. Both room service and the breakfast buffet were excellent. All of the staff with whom we dealt were extremely friendly and helpful. When I checked out to pick up wife at the hospital, I couldn't find an Uber. The desk clerk called a car service and had a ride in five minutes. That was a great relief. I'd definitely recommend the hotel to friends.

I have stayed many times in Hotel Cidnay. This is a first class hotel with first class staff, the reception staff are so helpful and friendly it makes my stays so much easier knowing they will always go the extra mile. The rooms are very clean, spacious and if you have the mountain view rooms a lovely balcony to relax and admire the scenery. Breakfast is varied, with fresh local produce to die for. The restaurant serves quality food with very attentive but relaxed staff. Five star!

Charming hotel, we had an amazing stay, everything was perfect, clean and spacious room, super comfortable bedding, even possible to choose a specific pillow. Delicious breakfast served in a beautiful space with a nice view, lots of choices. We also appreciated the gym , small but functional and staff was always very kind and warm. We definitely recommend!

The design of this hotel was amazing. There is very good artwork everywhere. The rooms are comfortable and spotless. The only problem we had was that there was nowhere to put cases. There were some separate lounge areas which were furnished with some comfortable looking chairs. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Breakfast was laid out and there was an excellent choice. Dinner was a bit lacking and not to the standard of the breakfast. Some food (soup) was not warm enough. This hotel would suit independent travellers.

Group tour, reservation not done by myself. Had to change room on arrival as I was given a connecting room. Always check if you have a door connecting to another room. You never know who will be there and how noisy then can be. Apart from that the room was great, the bathroom very spacious, amenities, breakfast had a great buffet choice. Restaurant has gourmet food and about two good things to eat, changed to the bar on the last night for a great 'francesinha' the best I ate, so far. Reception is very professional and premises are close to centre for those willing to eat somewhere else.

We found this hotel at the last minute after travelling to the North of Portugal and will definitely be returning. The hotel is a new building of modern design which we found to be very comfortable and clean coupled to very good service. Staff are very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The breakfast was very fresh with a good selection for all tastes. The rooms themselves are quite big and there is an excellent bar and lounge to relax in.

I loved this hotel. It's a beautiful environment and for us was in a central location to travel to nearby towns and villages but it's really the people that make Portugal and they don't come much better than every single member of staff at this hotel...totally professional, the perfect mix of impeccable manners, politeness and friendliness and a total credit to this establishment. I would love to see this new hotel grow into a strong brand because it would be a brand I would return to again and again. Fabulous breakfast was included. A tiny niggle but I wish that management would make the private room terraces on the third floor more spatially and aesthetically pleasing in order to compliment the beautiful view and remain in keeping with the rest of the hotel. A minor gripe but it would make this place perfect in my opinion.

Staff is extremely polite and helpful. Bedrooms are spacious, clean with very comfortable beds. Bar had great choice of drinks and bar snacks.

We loved the hotel, the staff was very nice and gave us a room upgrade and complimentary wine at the bar for the birthday. The room was very nice and clean, also with a beautiful view. We loved our stay there, I would recommend booking this hotel for your stay. Breakfast was also very good. If you want to park underground hotel garage with a bigger car then the hotel parking garage entrance is too narrow, we had a wide car and couldn't get in, but there were parking spots on the streets also so you can still get a parking spot.

It is a very nice and moder hotel which you do not expect to find in such a small city. Very nice lobby area and very helpfull staff in the bar. Bar prices for food and drink were very reasonanble. The room had a good size and was very clean and modern, The hotel is in the city center and near the shopping area.

It s a very pleasant and relaxed four-star-hotel, close to the historical center, with a young, very friendly and helpful stuff. The light, tasteful design, the piano in the lobby, the warm pool, the delicious breakfast, the clean and spacy room - my family just liked everything about this hotel.

The hotel is tucked away in Guimaraes and is all the more charming for that. Clean, fresh, modern and stylish about sums it up. Breakfast was good, not outstanding, and the restaurant food (we arrived late from the Santander ferry and a 5-hour drive) was welcome and satisfying. The rooftop pool looked great, although it was disappointing that it wasn't open early, as that would have been the ideal time for us to use it.

Location is amazing, right in the center of Guimarães with walking distance to the city center and restaurants. We had everything we needed in the room and more! Breakfast was good. Indoor Swimming pool was small but nice -booking time slots was uncomfortable but this was just on one day. Stuff is very helpful and welcoming.

Location is great, very luxurious hotel, the room was really big, very comfortable, clean, the toilet very clean, sophisticate with nice amenities. The swimming pool well maintained, the size was great for mg husband to do some laps and exercise and relax.

We spent the weekend at this hotel and were very pleased! We even stayed a day longer because we really enjoyed the SPA zone and the facilities. The view from any point of the hotel, especially lobby, has to be mentioned separately; it is absolutely gorgeous, overlooking mountains and the valley. The restaurant is very high level, we loved every dinner we had; although the breakfasts are rather simple and have few options, but are fresh and good nonetheless. We would have liked to have more vegetable options, like cucumbers, tomatoes etc. The SPA was great; the water in the pools is very warm and comfortable. The saunas are not as hot as we normally prefer, around 75 degrees, but maybe it’s custom here. The jacuzzi is great. The day we spent in Guimarães was amazing, we saw the local sights and restaurants, the city is lovely; the Uber drive to the center of the city was under 10 minutes. The staff is nice and friendly, ready to help and accommodate in every way.

Once in awhile you encounter a good hotel and delivers what they promise. Paid 45 euros for 2 incl breakfast and facilities and this was a good deal. Good room, comfortable beds, clean, nice rain shower (the only thing missing, was a rack to put your toiletries on inside the shower). Wifi worked well, free parking, tv with international channels. Breakfast was good, a lot of variety, and a nice restaurant with a great view. You can use the gym, swimmingpool and tennis court. Very nice receptionist and just a 5 minute drive from Guimaraes. The only thing, the rooms are not that soundproof, we were lucky the first night and had no neighbors, 2nd night we had a of course a crazy one, and you could hear them well. We always have white noise with us and that took it out. Overall a good deal, slept well, good ambience, good location and view. Can recommend.

Quiet hotel, clean, tidy and comfortable. Ideal for sports: tennis, swimming, weight room, anything you need. Great views from my room Special mention to the staff: 5 stars. Breakfast was great and included! Wifi worked for me when I needed it.

Very nice views, friendly and helpful staff and excellent amenities like gym and pool. Also a couple of nice restaurants in near vicinity. Breakfast was also reasonable. There is a great cycle path where you can walk to Guimaraes with nice views along the way.

It was not my first time in this Hotel, it's simply amazing. The staff are super helpful, the rooms are super comfortable and the spa is perfect, for 10€/person during the stay is money well spent. The only bad part was charging 4€ for two additional towels, but otherwise it was just perfect.

Beautiful space, with a feel between the old and the modern. Loved the rustic stone walls through out the entire space while having all the modern acomodations. Very clean, and very peaceful and relaxing if you want to get out of the city. The owners are very nice and helful. We loved the space and would come back for sure. Recommend it. Even the two little dogs that greet everybody are nice and friendly 🐕 🐕 😀

Emilia Alves was exceptional, the nicest of smiles, concern and attention. It is owners like this that make a stay. The breakfast served was buffet and plentiful with fresh fruit and croissants etc and nothing was too much trouble. The pool just what I needed . I did google for a restaurant in the vicinity but found nothing so we took snacks however there is one nearby Arminda advised so perhaps this could be mentioned.

Pleasant country location. Very warm welcome. The sisters who own the property were very professional and extremely helpful. Rooms were very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was continental but good and plentiful. Very nice pool.

A real hidden gem, tucked away from the public roads. Delicious breakfast with lots of choice, cozy room, nice hosts. Highly recommend.

It was an absolutely quiet location, somewhere hidden in a small dead-end street, with the atmosphere of a house more than of a hotel. The different levels provided a cosy atmosphere. The swimming pool was also nice. You could also park the car on the premises. What we really liked was the flexibility and kindness of the owners. Unfortunately our car broke down, could not be repaired and we were being repatriated. So instead of 2 nights we were forced to stay for a few more nights, and the owners were so kind to accommodate us although we did not know how long we had to stay on. They were prepared to store the car at the hotel until it was to be towed. So thank you for this customer friendly attitude!

Very nice stay at Hotel Bienestar Termas de Vizela. Professional and friendly staff, very good wifi, spacious rooms and access to the Vizela baths for guests of the hotel. There is also an easily accessible parking. The breakfast was quite good with portuguese products such as pasteis de nata. We really enjoyed our stay and we will be back! Thank you

The hotel exceeded my expectations. Everything is renovated, the room was very comfortable, huge bed, air conditioning is perfect, never too hot nor too cold, the breakfast was excellent and the Thermas... OMG, perfection! I don't remember when I felt that relaxed.

The villa was amazing — beautifully designed with a modern interior, a lovely private green yard, and an absolutely fantastic outdoor jacuzzi that we enjoyed every moment of! José (the owner?) was incredibly friendly and welcoming — he even greeted us with a bottle of champagne to celebrate my husband’s birthday, which was such a thoughtful touch. We absolutely loved our stay here.

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely house in Portugal. The owner's hospitality was truly exceptional—his dedication and engagement made our stay feel extra special. The garden is stunning, with a stunning view of the city. The jacuzzi was also a fantastic experience, providing a perfect way to relax after a day of exploring. The location is peaceful and tranquil, offering a nice escape from the hustle and bustle, yet it’s still easy to reach the city. There’s even a bus nearby (just be sure to have cash for the ticket), and it takes only about 5 minutes by car to get to the center. We are so grateful for the warm welcome and highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!

Fantastic place, good grounds and pool, and amazing scenery, close to town centre with plenty of cheep parking and places to eat. Amazing hospitality with great conversations and fresh food delivered every morning. Villa is clean and spacious, with spring water straight from the taps. Large bed and amazing shower on suit. For a quiet get a way, with stunning views, I would highly recommend.

José was the perfect host. He was very attentive and thoughtful and made us feel very special. The venue, Villa Margaridi is beautifully maintained and is full of history, mystery, and beauty. It is set in the heart of Guimarães and whilst very close to the city center and shops (supermarket, petrol station, restaurants), it is hidden away, set in its own secluded oasis. When you step in or out of the villa, you feel like you entered the Narnia wardrobe and came out on the other side. It's truly a magical place, preserved in time and space. Our Villa was perfect for our family of five, with all the amenities we needed, plus a lovely welcome pack with some food and wine to help with the first days of our stay. Fresh bread and croissants are delivered each morning. The rooms are all very clean and comfortable and all with ensuite. Plus an extra bathroom for guests.

Rate Quinta Do Rio will always have a special place in our hearts ! They made our stay unforgettable with their amazing hostpitality ! They did everything to make us comfortable and welcome so it feeled like home. - Well furnished apartment with everything you need so it feels like home - Modern, fresh and clean - Amazing garden with pool, sunbeds and small indoor pool to rest from the sun. - Easy access parking by the property. - We felt very safe to stay there with our family We have travel a lot and this special place will be difficult to top for sure ! We will go there again for sure !

The hosts were great! super helpful and super flexible. The common spaces were great: pool, small hot pool, a common frigde by the pool, parasols, very spacious. Near the pool there was also showers with shower gel and shampoo. The room was perfect. Hot bath, Bluetooth speakers, air conditioning. The bathroom had everything: hot bath, a good hair dryer, shower gel and shampoo The guests were mainly family but as a couple, it was a great relaxing and romantic time

Everything we are so welcome from the lady,it was amazing experience. I loved to awake in such peaceful place. Kids loved play in the swimming pool outside. And inside till late. The rooms so spaces amazing,it was clean like a loved. Definitely I would go back.

It was perfect - great pool which my boys loved, clean and well appointed room (shower in particular was amazing!!), great location and the lady who runs it is just wonderful and can’t do enough for you, her energy and warmth really makes the place :)

The complex is private and consists of a beautifully renovated old farmhouse with a lovely garden, located in a charming and peaceful village. The room was very pleasant, clean, and had everything you need. There is also a shared, well-equipped kitchen available. They also offer breakfast if you want it. The hosts are very friendly and responsive, and they’re happy to share local recommendations if you’d like. Highly recommended!

Excellent accommodation, modern, quiet, excellent breakfast. A rural location, therefore very quiet. You will need to have a car to reach this location to be comfortable.

Really clean and well maintained. Cool that it’s on a working blueberry farm (although we were there in the wrong season to really enjoy it). Really nice, quiet rural area with well maintained spaces. It was great to have a living area/kitchen to use during our stay, with a cozy fire.

The perfect getaway for two. Every detail is carefully thought out. Outdoor jacuzzi and pool, barbecue area. The views are breathtaking. Self-check-in, complete serenity. Everything is brand new and incredibly creative

This place is truly exception. The attention to detail is outstanding. You are staying in a work of art. Everything from the lighting that comes on around you at night, the embroidery on the towels, the signs and the decoration around you - the facilities in general. There are two rooms opposite each other with a central balcony looking at a wonderful hilly/mountainous view with an outdoor swimming pool below you. On one side of the building is the jacuzzi and to the other side is the kitchen area with gas cookers, toaster, utensils, etc. There is an outdoor bathroom/changing room for the swimming pool. You are really in a little pocket secluded away from it all, but it is a simple short walk to the village where there is a cafe etc. The room is small and compact but includes a microwave, coffee machine, fridge, TV, bathroom with large shower space and a really comfortable double bed from which you can look out over the hills/mountains. Lots of parking via a narrow road to the property. Everyone super friendly and helpful! This is a unique experience! Highly recommended in sunny weather so you can enjoy the property; and relax on the grass by the pool; otherwise you'd be trapped in the small bedroom and balcony area.

It is very near to the center and at the same time its very chill, you have bars and restaurants very near and it´s no more than 15 min by walking to the bus station.

The concept of the hotel is, that you rent individual rooms in a large flat. Some rooms share a bathroom, some have their own. All rooms share a kitchen and a washing mashine. The owner is a very nice guy who lives one floor below the apartments.

Exceptional accomodations. Very clean. Beautiful exterior grounds & rooms are amazing.

The insolation and termical confort of the room was perfect. The amount of outdoor activities, from interacting with the animals, minigolf, pool and the fun park for the kids also enriched the experience.

Pretty nature and garden, nice mini-house, place where to make a barbecue, 2 pools, everything was great and in good reach to a big city also to go for dinner or buy things at the supermarket.
