The room was spacious, however, we upgraded after a week to a Pool room. which was on the balcony. Absolutely Loved it. Exercise in the pool downstairs in the morning< and refreshing cool pool in the afternoon on the balcony. It was amazing. You could not ask for more in a hotel. We loved our stay. The staff are wonderful. The Manager Alexandra was amazing as well, very helpful. It was a full apartment, with a kitchen, refrigerator, stove, microwave. If you wanted to cook You could. Pali grocery store is minutes away, Maxi Mennos ( Walmart) is a 15 minute walk on the main strip. The main Pool downstairs was amazing, with a side jacuzzi and little huts for shade, as well as beautiful lounge chairs. If you don't want to cook, you can order with confidence from the restaurant in the hotel, everything was delicious. The breakfast is included and spectacular choices. As far as we were concerned it was all first class, the service, the staff and the apartment. We loved our stay. We would highly recommend this hotel. The cleaning is done daily. you have a choice of the time it is done. They cater to your every desire. We even washed our clothes before coming back, as there is a washer and dryer in the apartment, you just have to buy detergent that's it.

My daughter and I had a small but nice room that overlooked a little jungle area. Some may think the pool view would have been better, we would disagree. The hotel was nice and clean and the hotel food and breakfast was very good and convenient. The hotel was very close to the main drag, but my daughter and I felt a little unsafe in the area and chose to get back to our hotel by 6:00 pm the two nights we were there. After a long day of ATV riding, we were hoping the jacuzzi would have been warm but it wasn't, at least it was refreshing for a bit. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Nice to have a little market next door for little items. Would recommend staying here.

The property is a comfortable getaway from an otherwise loud and busting Jaco. The staff was attentive, kind and helpful. The rooms were comfortable, clean and welcoming. The breakfast offered many delicious choices and the coffee/drink bar was also nice and created beautiful and yummy drinks. The pool area was clean and so welcoming, the water was warm and a perfect way to end a day in the sun. We would stay here again!

Such a retreat! We had a room with a private jacuzzi, it was great to relax after a long day of travelling. The rooms are very spacious and clean, with nice, comfortable beds. The breakfast was delicious. The location is on a quiet street. We would highly recommend this hotel!

Jacuzzi water could get a little more warm

Good stay, very comfortable mattress. The jacuzzi didn't fill all of the way, even after asking for a service visit (minor inconvenience). Felt a little like the main elements of the suite were nice, but the edges were a little ruff, like there was a weird piece of plastic hanging from the roof of the patio, the jacuzzi doesn't fill all the way, and the patio table was very lop sided, but it looked beautiful and was very comfortable to sleep in.

What an absolutely amazing hotel. Hotel Pumilio was a dream Costa Rican stay for us, a destination we were excited about for a long time. Not only is it only a 6-7 min drive from all the action on Jaco Beach, but Ubers are extremely easy to order and never exceed $10 USD, and that’s at busy times! Being a few minutes driving from the busy strip at Jaco comes with the benefit of peace and quiet whenever you want it, with the option to party in Jaco whenever you want! The staff is really what makes it all worthwhile! The rooms are extremely impressive, but the attentive and caring nature of every staff member we encountered was heartwarming. Geiner at the front desk helped us with any and all needs, from needing more soap and getting it within seconds, to booking last minute excursions for a great price, and everything in between. He really made us feel at home throughout our 5 day stay, and we couldn’t be more grateful! The breakfast at the hotel is delicious and fresh everyday, usually involving eggs, pancakes/waffles, tamales, rice/beans, sausages, as well as fruits, cereals, and yogurt! The pool is clean, as is the rest of the property, and is fun to explore a little bit with the wildlife. Our room was GORGEOUS! Super high ceilings and floor to ceiling windows to the yard, which featured our amazing hot tub, which we used nightly. The showers were awesome with the view to the yard, and the room was spacious and had a lovely A/C unit. Overall, we would absolute

Family of 5 had a wonderful time in our 3 BR condo. Very clean, spacious, great water pressure in showers, convenient washer & dryer in unit. Nice beach club nearby, great local pool w/ jacuzzi in our back yard, good restaurants nearby. Very safe and beautiful grounds. Fun to see local monkey family in marina parking lot.

Very nice and spacious apartment with all equipment we needed. Lovely balcony overlooking the 16th tee, with sea view in the distance. Access to the beach club with pool and swim up bar. washing machine very useful as all hotels we stayed in CR didn’t have the facilities. Great beach bars and restaurants outside the complex within 10-15 min walk

We love the Condo, you feel like home at the beach. Very safe place, distance between the beach and the Condo is far, you need to use your car to go everywhere. Swimming pool not big but nice and warm. Beach is small. There are nice gardens, fountains and restaurants! Marina is beautiful. Ice cream is delicious at the Marina Stores. Golf areas are amazing. We love the place!

Our villa was not operated by Marriott, but is rented out for the owners by a rental agency. The unit met our needs perfectly. Very pretty surroundings, well-maintained, clean. Easy to get around the large complex with rented fold carts. Beach is not very appealing, but rental includes pass to the pool club, which has a large, new, clean pool and gorgeous landscaping. Staff were extremely friendly & helpful. Ate at one of the Marriott's many restaurants. Felt it was of fair quality, way overpriced.

I love the privacy of the room, the jacuzzi, the view, and every single detail in the room, it's obvious to me that great attention has been put to the architectural design of the hotel and particularly the junior suite in which we stayed. The beach was a nice surprise, didn't have idea there was access to a private beach.

it was very remote on top of a mountain. the property is so beautiful! I was amazed by the details and buildings. private beach was so relaxing and PRIVATE!!!The staff is so amazing and helpful; compliments to them! was so relaxing and the food is delicious! 100% satisfied!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!!!!!! the monkeys, toucans, wild life right at your room and property. so fancy!!!

It was a quiet place. I love the view and nature around the room and restaurant. Bed was comfortable. I love to have a yacuzzi in the terrace of our room.

A stunning hotel located on the cliffs of Jaco. Our room was stunning and everything was really clean. Check in was easy and the staff were exceptional. The food at the restaurant was really good but expensive, but I guess you are paying for the view really. The infinity pool is stunning, made even more magical by the macaws that flew past twice! A wonderful hotel and would’ve loved to have stayed longer

The forest location next to a river is spectacular. The food is good, Costa Rican food, nothing sophisticated, but pretty good. Room was big and beds comfortable, good hot water. Most Jacuzzis are cold water with only one jet. What a pity! This pool/jacuzzi area can seem a little crowded, lots of kids, but if the pool is not your priority, it should be ok. Close to very nice locations like Los Sueños Marina for dinner and many good, local restaurants, the crocodile tour and a hike to a waterfall for people that hike hard.

We paid a premium for the treehouse room. Looks great from the outside and it is a huge empty room, with a really comfy high bed which was great but the standard size air con unit couldn’t deal with the size of the room and it remained stuffy and hot inside. This in mind, a fridge would also have been great to keep food and drink fresh. With the size of the room it would have been great to have some shelves or ledges to put luggage on rather than stoop down to the floor to access your bag - obviously this is only if you do not want to unpack everything as their was a drawer. The treehouse was also at the far end of the complex, so far from reception, restaurant and pool it required a drive - which is fine, but there was very little parking spaces available. One could always walk as it is not that far but you would get eaten alive by the mozzies on the way there and back. For the price, you would expect a full compliment of toiletries rather than just a single 2in1shower gel and a small soap packet. The towels were changed every day which will have to mark down the eco friendliness too. We stayed three nights and the promised breakfast buffet was only available on the last day - I guess because there was a coach party arrive and the other days there was not enough guests to warrant the buffet. The provided portions on the non buffet days were slightly inadequate. Other than that, it is a beautiful, tucked away, quiet little complex.

This lodge is amazing. We had been here many many times, even taking here our groups for birdwatching and we/they all love it. Hotel grounds are amazing, nice trails, trees, flowery bushes, river, birds, mammals and more. Restaurant is lovely at the river, personal is very kind and helpful. All waiters are awesome, Luis and Melkin are great and our favorites, but the others as well.. just don't know all of their names to mention.🤔 😉 Big thank to them for a lively little cake for my birthday!😉Food is also good with lot of vegetables and fruits🙂 Receptionists are also all very kind, Fiorella and Magaly are always helpful and smiling.. THANKS TO ALL AGAIN FOR A WONDERFUL STAY... AS ALWAYS FOR MANY MANY YEARS!

Good restaurant and very good buffet breakfast with plenty of choice. The location is good for visiting crocodiles in the nearby river Tarcoles. The rooms were large and the AC powerful. Rooms were clean and beds quite comfortable. The room amenities were adequate but this is not a luxury hotel.

Amazing location in the middle of their own little bit of jungle as you'd expect from the name. A big river runs through the property and gives plenty of scenic shots for a keen photographer. I stayed in a premium room over in the Santa Maria 'village' bit. It's separate from the main hotel, nice and quiet and very pretty, with ranch style rooms centred around a pretty garden with bandstand. It's only a two minute walk from the restaurant etc. Nice big airy room, spotlessly clean. Huge bathroom. Massive TV. Lovely towels and bedding. Good AC. I went for all inclusive at the last minute which is just as well as torrential rain hit for three days and the main roads were closed due to flooding! All the local reserves were closed (Carara is a few minutes away) so I had to stay out. Plenty of food, drinks, snacks to keep me going. And the open reception areas and cafe were great to sit and read, edit photos etc while the rain pelted down. Some lovely wildlife did appear just as I was leaving and the sun came out, and families were in the pool. Really friendly staff, especially Daniela who helped me sort a few trip problems. A lovely place and highly recommended - I was just really unlucky with the weather.

Patricia the host was amazing. So helpful. Her English was perfect. The cabins were clean and comfortable and perfectly laid out for our family with a small kitchenette and fridge which was very useful. Breakfast was delicious and different to the usual Costa Rican breakfast with tasty breads and cheeses. The surrounding area was just stunning and so much to do. Patrixia recommended so many great restaurants and activities. The pool was beautiful and both days we saw scarlet macaws flying overhead and sitting in the trees above the pool

We loved the pool-- the kids stayed in there for hours. The pool was open late so we did an after dinner swim to cool off again. Also this place is terrific for wildlife-- Multiple times, we saw Scarlet Macaws and Toucans land in nearby trees while we were swimming in the pool! Then the next morning on a pre-breakfast walk, we saw howler monkeys too. The staff was incredibly friendly -- which I had read in other reviews-- such a friendly, helpful staff. The breakfast was also far beyond our expectations-- a choice of eggs/toast or else "typical" Costa Rican breakfast w/ gallo pinto. Full fruit plate, fresh fruit juice, coffee, tea... colorful vibrant tables and seating area... outdoors open-air breakfast area, but fully covered from sun or rain. Just 4 or 5 tables so has a nice small B&B sort of vibe, not a big hotel feel. The rooms do have air conditioning thank goodness, because it was hot here in February! It's only 10-15 minutes from Carara National Park (where we enjoyed the walk but did not see any macaws) and the crocodile bridge. We honestly were just stopping here for a night as a way to break up the drive between Monteverde and Uvita, but it turned out to be one of our favorite spots. it's a special little oasis just off a busy road-- once you leave the busy road you drive through a neighborhood and then come upon this quiet patch of jungle with macaws and a very inviting pool... it's great.

Selva Color is a repurposed gated community clubhouse area that one of the residents - the delightful Patricia - bought a few years ago. There are just a few cabins around the pool area, and they were designed for longer stays while people were building their homes. Accordingly, they have a decent little kitchenette which is very handy. The town of Quebrada is a typical CR town, and you need to drive down the main road a ways before reaching the large red gates that mark the entrance to Selva Color. You won’t see the sign until you turn in the gates. The acreage is quite large with nice roads leading up and around the various (unbuilt) house sites Best things - awesome birds on the property, plus great proximity to fantastic bird-watching at Carara and Rio Tarcoles. Outstanding breakfast - local artisanal cheeses made by an entrepreneur who studied cheese-making in Switzerland. It shows! The local bread, cheese and jam combination, with fresh local juices and great coffee - the best breakfast I’ve had in this country. The pool is quite pleasant, nice for a mid-day dip. The rooms are convenient and comfortable. Patricia pointed us towards good local restaurants for dinner. Good WiFi A few things to improve - upkeep and repairs could be better - the shelf in our bathroom was falling off, the walking pavers down to the pool needed to be re-seated, as they are loose. A sign or two in town pointing towards the hotel would be nice. But these were very minor detractors.

We enjoyed our stay here and found it ideal for a quiet and peaceful stay with use of a good size pool area that was open until 9pm, and food available in the small village near to the entrance to the property. Surrounded by lush vegetation our cabin had an outside seating area area where we enjoyed just having a drink and relaxing while listening to the sounds of the birds. The beds were very comfy and the kitchen area had everything we needed if we wanted to cook, although we preferred an easy take out from the village. The breakfast was typical Tico style of rice, beans, eggs, fruit, toast and of course delicious CR coffee. Everywhere was very clean and tidy and the staff were very pleasant. The property is a short drive from the coast and Carrara National Parque and the local residents we found kind and friendly although very little English was spoken. We stayed for 2 nights and would have stayed longer had a room been available. The host was very friendly and spoke good English and was happy to give advice on the area and the roads if you needed it. Thanks for a great visit!

I loved Selva Color for a place to stay near Carara National Park and the village of Tarcoles, where you can see the gorgeous Scarlet Macaw Parrots, many other beautiful birds, monkeys, and other wildlife. 10 minute drive. There are Macaws right on the property to squawk their greetings as you check in. The staff was friendly and professional and answered all of my questions in English. The cabin I had was older, but beautifully decorated with the Scarlet Macaw red theme (perfect for me). Everything worked well, such ad frige and coffee maker, and everything was clean. The bed was comfortable and the secured grounds felt very quiet and safe. I went to Tarcoles village beach to watch the Macaws turn in for the evening and to enjoy a fabulous sunset. I recommend Selva Color for a good night sleep before serous birding in Carara National Park.

The staff is very friendly and helpful and the Condo is in a nice safe location close to the beach. It has 2 pools that are clean and has a BBQ set up for use. Everything is in walking distance which is really nice. I would highly recommend staying.

The rooms are beautiful and very clean. The property is very well maintained and the landscaping is amazing. The location is so convenient to everything Jaco has to offer. Water pressure and water heat is the only thing we didn't enjoy much in the room but everything else was excellent. If we come back to Jaco, this is where we'd stay Everytime.

This is amazing property, very safe and atmosphere is very positive. Security is very good, front desk staff are supportive. We book the ATV and Zip lining tour from staff and all went very well. Rooms are spacious with plenty Amenities. Walking distance to main street and restaurants. We strongly recommend this place to family and friends

My stay at the Monaco Luxery condominiums was perfect. The property was well maintained, and the staff was friendly, kind , helpful and trustworthy. I highly recommend the junior Penthouse suite with the private roof top patio. I cant wait to come back to Jaco and stay at the Monaco again . Thanks

The room was clean and very nice. The 24hr security guard at the gate (only entrance) also made us feel very safe and secure. Lastly, the location was right off the main strip and within walking distance of all the good restaurants and bars.
