Central location was great, easily accessible for grasmere entertainments, but also accessing walks up into the hills and up to Easdale Tarn. Loved the jacuzzi bath and balcony, very comfortable bed.

The spa/jacuzzi type bath was a godsend and relieved many aching muscles and bones. The breakfast was diverse with choices to suit any palet or need. We were offered the room with the high bed which for me was a bit too high and the staff quickly found a more suitable room with very comfortable bed.

Moss Grove is ideally situated in the centre of Grasmere and very handy for local restaurants. The room was a really good size with a very comfortable bed and excellent bathroom with a jacuzzi bath and separate shower too. Tea and coffee making facilities are in each room with an excellent variety of teas to choose from. We would certainly recommend to other travellers.

All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Room very nice and clean. Balcony with view out across the village (only 2 rooms have one). Hotel does have a small free car park and is located in the village centre so not far to walk anywhere to local shops, pubs, restaurants etc. Breakfast is buffet style with a varied selection so you have to serve yourself. The 'cooked' food was scrambled eggs, sausages mushrooms and tomatoes (so a bit minimal IMO) but the Cumberland sausages were fantastic!!

Hidden gem! So close to town centre and walking distance from all the beautiful places Grasmere has to offer, but away from main road, just so you can enjoy a bit of peace and quiet. It also has access to the lake from the back yard, which is a bonus. Garden is lovely and it has plenty of wildlife to admire (a family of badgers, little bats circling in the evenings, to the delight of my son and niece). Rooms were comfy and spacious and very clean! It takes a lot for me to rate high in cleaning as I am quite obsessed with it, but everything was spotless. It is also dog friendly, which makes even more challenging cleaning wise. However everything is made to make your stay with your little furry friend relaxing and enjoyable (dog treats, easy to clean surfaces, extra blankets to cover beds or just to create a comfy little corner for your dog). And all of it at no extra charges, a very decent policy in place. Hosts was brilliant, very welcoming and always ready to help. There is also a 10% discount at Good Sports pub down the road, a fantastic place to eat, staff very helpful and delicious food and drinks. We were there for a a fee days for a family gathering, various ages, from 6yo children to senior grandad and we all had a wonderful time and would love to come back very soon!

Fantastic location, a quiet and very comfortable retreat just moments from the center of Grasmere. Our room, The Cottage, was perfect for a family of 5 plus dog. Really spacious, very comfortable beds (proper beds for all of us) and very clean. It was a bonus to have a small kitchen area enabling us to make our own breakfast. The complementary tea and coffee were delicious and the bathroom products smelt amazing. The owner was so helpful in helping me find day care for my dog whilst we did the via ferrata - it was our genuine pleasure to meet them both. Lovely meal at the Good Sport. The garden was beautiful and a great space to relax. We will definitely book again and would recommend the Lake View Country House to everyone.

We had a fantastic stay at Lake View, it was a great location. The rooms were exceptionally comfortable, clean, and well-maintained, making for a truly relaxing experience. The breakfast was really nice, served across the way at a distillery. One of the standout aspects was how pet-friendly the guest house was—welcoming without any lingering pet smells, which was greatly appreciated.! They ensured there were nice touches (dog biscuits, a kettle in the conservatory, umbrellas and picnic blankets to borrow. The staff were warm, accommodating, and went out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay. I highly recommend Lake View for anyone looking for a cozy and welcoming place to stay!

Stayed here with my husband and two dogs for our anniversary, we stopped in the Garden suite which was clean, modern, spacious and very comfortable. It's not very often you get a king size bed when stopping away so that was a pleasant surprise. The area is quiet and the garden is lovely and peaceful, it's a close walk down to the lake using a private footpath for the dogs to have a paddle. Brilliant location for exploring the local area and we didn't have to use the car all week which was a bonus. The breakfast at The Good sport was of good quality, the morning and evening staff there are friendly. Will definitely be stopping here again in the future.

10/10. This is one of the best, if not the best, places we stayed in the UK. Owners and staff are very friendly, we arrived little earlier than expected and we're allowed to check in early. This is a boutique hotel in very quiet location just a minut walk from the main road thorough the village and few minutes from the lake. Our room, Treetop, was the only one available at the time of booking and was exceptionally good. Nice decent size, very clean and beautifully decorated with exposed timber and bricks. Lovely large bathroom, comfy large bed, selection of coffees, teas and even hot chocolate. The place is dog friendly and do not charge extra for their stay which is absolutely brilliant. Prices are very reasonable and we got 10% discount at their sister business, Good Sport Bar, which is couple of minutes walk from the house and serves great food and nice selection of drinks. We loved our stay and will definitely be back. I truly recommend Lake View Country House.

Very friendly owners and lovely room with sauna and jacuzzi bath

We were greeted with big smiles when we arrived. Such lovely people running this small bed and breakfast. Our room was incredibly clean and comfortable, had fresh milk for tea and Lakeland water in the fridge. The spa bath was exceptional after a day hiking! Not to mention the full English breakfast we had which fortified us for another day of walking around Keswick. I would definitely recommend!

The location for this property is great just a short walk into Keswick, the room we were in was lovely and spacious, the king-size bed was really comfortable and the breakfast was delicious 😋, the owners are so welcoming and friendly nothing was a bother, can't wait to return

We enjoyed our short break at the Riverside Escape. The room was spotlessly clean, warm, comfortable and well decorated. Our hosts were friendly and welcoming and the breakfast was delicious.

The breakfast English was freshly cooked and hot. I liked the decor room, the mini fridge with fresh milk and room had a calming atmosphere. The bathroom was large with a small one person sauna combined shower and a double spar bath. From the Juliet balcony there were pleasant views over the river. The room being advertised as the 'bridal suite', overall I thought was good value for the money.

I’m not normally a morning person, but knowing that incredible breakfast was waiting for me downstairs gave me a boost out of bed! Super tasty and the eggs were amazing. The hosts were outstanding, especially Kate. She was very welcoming, hospitable and gave us some beautiful walking trail suggestions (one of which is now forever where I proposed to my partner). The location is second-to-none. The property boasts marvellous views of Siddaw and Little Man. Braithwaite as a village is also lovely with a couple of great pubs and a coffee house. You can access the beautiful Whinlatter forest from the back garden gate and a short walk down the road. The bed, pillows and duvet/blankets were all very comfortable, and the temperature was always somehow perfect despite not touching the thermostat… Overall, it is apparent how much love, time and effort has gone into making this B&B more of a second home to distant travellers and wanderers. Thank you for an amazing weekend! We shall be back again.

We had such a great time staying at this lovely house! Our room was super spacious with an amazing view. There were some really nice complimentary biscuits with tea, and toiletries were provided too. Every morning we got to choose our breakfast, and it was always fresh and delicious. There was even fresh cake out every day at the counter, which was a nice touch. The host was incredibly friendly and accommodating, she really made sure we had the best stay. Everything was so well thought out. Even before we arrived, communication was clear and helpful, and she gave us some great recommendations for places to eat and hike nearby. Couldn’t recommend this place more, would definitely come back!

Wonderful Stay at Maple Bank Country Guest House! We had a fantastic stay at Maple Bank in Keswick. The guest house is set in a beautiful, peaceful location with stunning views. The room was spotless, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was delicious with plenty of options. It’s the perfect base for exploring the Lake District. Highly recommend!

An amazing place to stay. It’s my second time. The rooms are comfy, spacious and have everything you need. The beds are very comfortable. It’s quiet. The view of Skiddaw etc is stunning. There’s daily baked cake in the afternoon which is delicious and breakfasts are fantastic. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. A real home from home.

We had such a nice stay at Maple Bank. Our room was lovely, very clean and comfortable with beautiful views. The breakfasts are amazing, plenty of choice and excellent portion sizes. Kate is so welcoming and friendly and gave us lots of information about local walks etc. We took our dog who was made so welcome too, with a goodie bag and a daily sausage for breakfast! We were also able to exercise her in the fenced off garden at the back of the property. Kate really has thought of everything and goes above and beyond to make guests feel at home. Lots of little extra touches such as the local toiletries, bars of chocolate and daily cake. This really is a home from home and we would definitely recommend it. We hope to return in the not too distant future. Many thanks to Kate and her team.

Absolutely amazing experience at the Ruddings!! Stayed with my wife for 3 nights and had a great time. The hotel has been recently renovated and everything looks brand new and very clean. The decor is very well thought off all over the property. The Mountain View room was absolutely clean with a very comfy bed, a comfy lounge chair and huge bathroom with a shower and a tub. The kitchen served us some amazing dishes, every single dish was so delicious and bit deceptive on portion size- I ended up with extra full tummy on all 3 nights. Oh and the desserts.. well each one a must try!! Special appreciation for the staff who were managing the restaurant, house keeping and the reception.. all very busy but warm, friendly and helpful. Lastly the location of hotel was just perfect- in a quiet corner of a lovely little village, Brathwaite. Just 5 mins bus ride from Keswick. We simply loved our stay here!! :)

Everything was clean, fresh, brand new furniture and carpets throughout the hotel. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Room was spotless, well stocked up, great tea/coffee tray with cookies. We had a draft excluder to block the light/noise from the bottom of the door. Shoe tray for dirty boots. Outside terrace very pleasant to chill in the evenings. Dog friendly- had amenities for cleaning/drying the paws, dog bowls across the terrace. Dog friendly rooms on request. Breakfast was very tasty, good selection on the menu and buffet.

The Ruddings was booked as a surpise anniversary get away for my wife and I. My basic criteria when selecting was a nice view from the room, breakfast and parking. The Ruddings delivered this and more in spades. The room was excellent, very spacious and nicely decorated with a lovely view of the mountains. It was also exceptionally clean with an ample supply of coffee. The bar and restaurant area were very pleseant with a lovely view of the hills on the patio. The breakfast was also very good with a nice selection of self service foods (fruit, cereal, chia pudding, coffee and juice) and the hot offerings (cooked to order) were very nice. All around we were very impressed with the Ruddings and wpuld definitely consider staying again of we were in the area.

I was staying here whilst visiting the lakes for a funeral and my stay was very relaxing. excellent food (breakfast and evening meal). very comfortable beds. excellent location on the edge of Keswick. free parking. dog friendly! can’t wait to return with my family. staff kindly accommodated a slightly later check out which was very much appreciated- thank you. A wonderful hotel in the Lakes.

Everything ! This hotel is wonderful! Why it is only a three star is beyond me . It is beautifully decorated, so welcoming, spotless clean, the staff are just the nicest and happy to help. The food is just delicious, absolutely first class ! Cooked to perfection and not expensive. We had Sunday dinner and it was just perfect! The largest Yorkshire puddings ever ! The beds are huge and sooo comfortable. The views from the hotel are breathtaking ! We went over Christmas and it’s was so pretty with all the decorations up and beautiful Christmas Trees. They have thought of everything for the dogs too. There is a dog bath at the door , and fresh towels everyday for thier muddy paws 🐾. You will not be disappointed at this hotel. We will be back !

This was our second stay at Babbling Brook Guest House in Keswick, and it never disappoints! Paul and Carol gave us such a warm welcome, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The rooms are spotless and stylish, clearly showing the care and modern refinements Paul and Carol have invested in, while still keeping that cozy, welcoming charm. The freely cooked breakfast was just as delicious as we remembered — fresh, generous, and the perfect start to a day exploring Keswick and the stunning Lake District. The location is excellent — just a short walk to the Market Square, shops, and restaurants, yet peaceful enough for a relaxing stay. We’ll definitely be back again and can’t recommend Babbling Brook Guest House highly enough.

A very warm welcome from the host, Paul. He explained everything clearly and was very friendly. Offered great advice on places to go, decent eateries etc.and he wasn't wrong :) Babbling Brook is literally 5 mins walk to town centre and 15 mins stroll to Derwent Water. Extremely comfortable, queen size bed! Tea, coffee, water and replenished daily. Room 1 also has 2 really comfy armchairs if you want to sit and read, or just enjoy a cuppa/glass in the room. Very clean. Great views from Room 1 overlooking Fitz Park and even better views from rooms on 2nd floor. Powerful shower and plenty of hot water. The quality of food on Full Engish is so tasty too. We would def return to Babbling Brook .

Everything was perfect. Our view was beautiful. The room was totally spotless. Our bed was huge and so comfortable. Shower was nice. Hosts were so friendly and helpful and provided an outstanding breakfast!! We had only planned on making this a quick stop on our way up to Scotland but we wish we could have stayed longer. We’d love to come back. Thank you!!

All you ask for when you book a room is for it to be clean, comfortable and quiet. The BB just does the basics well. Great hosts,a very comfortable room with amazing views, a very nice hearty breakfast, Glad we found this little gem for a quiet couple of days away.

The mountain view room was very spacious, comfortable and had a great size bed with very cosy mattress. The view was great and the road noise not at all too loud. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating and we felt very comfortable. The breakfast was a good size with options and alternatives. We will book again

Fabulous refurbished hotel, very modern but in a traditional way given its location. We had a garden suite (Millican Dalton) which was an absolute delight, very spacious and quiet, views over fields & hills. The only fault, although minor was there is no fridge in the room and there is a patio area with table & chairs with view to the hills but it hadn’t been cleaned for sometime, lots of moss & quite slippy. We had dinner in the restaurant both nights & the food quality was very good & presented beautifully. Great breakfast menu. All the staff were very attentive, friendly and went out of their way to make the stay enjoyable. The plus point for us is that they only have a couple of rooms for dogs & dogs are not allowed in the bar or restaurant. Don’t get me wrong, I like dogs, but I don’t want to stay in a room where they have been & I certainly don’t want to eat in a restaurant with them when most guests are dressed for dinner & unfortunately have seen dogs jump up at staff when they are trying to serve food.

The hotel had modern taste to it which we loved, the room was exceptional, clean and tidy with a little balcony that would have been perfect if not raining. All of the staff were so welcoming right from the minute you walked in. There was one barman who served us at the bar on our arrival, evening meal and morning who was so welcoming and so attentive to everything and would find the time to talk to us both and even offered up a mocktail due to pregnancy to make the experience/evening even more enjoyable. Could not fault this place and even the communication prior to our stay was amazing as it was for my partners 30th and they were so helpful with getting back in touch about different things.

We had a fantastic 2 night stay at the Borrowdale Gates Hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly helpful, friendly, and professional – nothing was too much trouble, and they really made us feel welcome. Our room had been upgraded it was exceptionally spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with everything we needed for a relaxing break and the views were incredible. While we didn’t dine in the hotel for lunch or dinner, the breakfast each morning was absolutely lovely – fresh, well-prepared, and a great way to start the day. The setting is stunning too, right in the heart of Borrowdale. Highly recommended.

The staff at this hotel were very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were large by English/European standards, the views were beautiful, and the hotel was very quiet. We ate both breakfast and dinner at the hotel and both were fantastic. The dinner was delicious; however, the portions made a dinner in a French restaurant look like an all you can eat buffet. The dining room was also a tad quiet. The main road to the bridge is narrow and then a one lane road from the bridge to get to the hotel. Not uncommon in the countryside; however, these roads were narrower than what you will find around the Southern Lake District towns. Overall, it was a great hotel and a relaxing experience. We would definitely stay again and recommend this hotel to others!

This is a fantastic hotel. Situated in a quiet part of the Lakes far from the crowds - the rooms, lounge and restaurant have superb views over the fields, mountains, and nearby village. Our room was very spacious and very comfortable. There is heaps of room to make yourself comfortable in the lounge and bar. The restaurant was outstanding, offering thoughtfully designed dishes meeting the quality of much more expensive offerings elsewhere. Breakfast was also excellent. Staff were very helpful throughout our stay. Would happily stay again!

Definitely recommend, perfectly located 5 minutes walk from Keswick town centre & about 10 mins from Derwentwater lakeside, with plenty free unrestricted street parking straight outside & neighbouring streets, very quiet. Andy & Tracey met us for check in and straight away we felt at home, lovely welcoming friendly couple. Brilliant spacious room, nice touch with 2 seater sofa. Very clean, nicely decorated. Tea/coffee facilities in room with top ups available anytime. Comfy bed with quality pillows & bedding. Good hot shower, soft towels & nice toiletries. Andy & Tracey have really thought about what's needed for the comfort of their guests in every aspect. Even a boot tray in room for keeping carpets clean, great idea. Had best breakfast ever, freshly made all cooked to perfection, with tasty 'proper' Cumberland sausage & black pudding locally produced & hand made in Keswick! Set us up for the day walking, never needed anything else all day! A definite gem, pleased we found our place to stay for return visits if, we can get booked in as such a popular place with fantastic hosts!

I was in the lake District for 5 days of walking and I wanted somewhere to stay central to Keswick. The Herdwick guest house was in a good location and within my budget. Once I'd booked the accommodation through booking.com the communication was excellent and helpful. It was a self check-in option however Andy, the owner was at the door greeting some of his family which made accessing the property slightly easier. With regards to the room, I just wanted a single room, with a comfortable bed, space for all my belongings and an ensuite bathroom. And I got just that. The room was small which again was in line with how much I paid. I was happy with the space and it served its purpose well. And then there was the cooked breakfast. I must admit I do enjoy a nicely cooked full English breakfast and Tracy, the other owner did not disappoint. Everyday It was cooked to perfection and it tasted amazing. Even the tomato sauce in the beans was of the right consistency. Andy made breakfast time enjoyable. He was always wanting to catch up on what I'd been doing the day before. That made being on my own in the breakfast room so much easier. All in all it was a good stay and I'd definitely stay there again. My walks started in different locations including Buttermere, Rosthwaite and Keswick,. One day I finished in Grasmere. Keswick's bus network made this so easy and only £3 per journey.

Conveniently located. 10 min walk to bus station and pier. very close to town centre, shops and restaurants. They have the self check in option which is super easy. They provide cooked breakfast which is delicious. Cereals, yoghurts, juices and unlimited tea coffee available. The couple taking care of the property are amazing. Room and bathroom are super clean and comfortable. Stable hot water supply and excellent water pressure. Tea coffee making facility is available in room and can replenish from the restaurant. There is a guest fridge with food stuff and water. Lot of leaflets containing details of the excursions in Lake District are available for free. Can use them to plan your trip.

I arrived late and the hosts were at a wedding. Self check in was pre-arranged, each bedroom having its own key safe within the entrance. This is a nice touch. I have waited around at front doors on previous occasions. The bedroom was clean, modern and warm, considering it was freezing outside. Double bed and pillows, comfortable. Breakfast was pre- ordered prior to my arrival. The cooked breakfast was freshly cooked, hot and was spot on. The breakfast room had a small fridge with complimentary bottles of water. You could also chill bottles of your own wine. Again, a nice touch. Both hosts were very welcoming and chatty. Location wise, it is a 2 minute walk in to central Keswick town centre. I would definitely stay again.

Perfect place for a rest day on the coast to coast walk. We stayed in the attic room which was very spacious with a huge bathroom with bath and seperate shower. The room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The Juliette balcony was great to nosey at world. Breakfast was an epic with yoghurt, cereal, full English and barista made coffee. Breakfast is from 8am but on our second morning we wanted an earlier start so arranged for a bacon butty and coffee to go. Everyone we interacted were very helpful and friendly.

We had the loveliest stay at Heidi’s lodge in Grasmere! Easy contactless check-in with clear instructions, lovely room just as shown in pictures and wonderful spacious bathroom with separate shower and bath. Cozy room with comfy bed and good amnesties. We had to be a bit cautious of our heads as the wooden frames in the loft would come a bit low but there was a sign that warned us of that too, we felt it gave the room character. The included breakfast was amazing too, friendly staff and good choices of food, juices and hot drinks! Altogether a lovely enjoyable stay and would come here again!

lovely little quirky place, absolutely perfect location for all shops, pubs, cafes and walks etc, exceptional breakfast, so much choice, best full English I have had in ages, top quality fresh products, staff very friendly and welcoming nothing too much trouble. we loved our little stay here and the mountain view was amazing, highly recommended. we will definitely be returning

Perfect location in the village, stayed in Room 1 which was spacious, clean with a large comfy bed, perfect room. Hosts were welcoming and accommodating to our early arrival at 1.30pm, room ready and very friendly/helpful throughout stay.

Perfect location, room was lovely (n0 4) with a Juliette balcony which overlooked the road/square in the centre of Grasmere. We had a massive en-suite bathroom with separate bath and walk in shower. What my friend and I really loved was the attention to detail the owner had obviously thought about. From the very clear arrival instructions, menu options for breakfast which could be ordered in advance, to the little extras in the room such as taster tablets of Kendal mint cake….. although my friend and I did raise our eyebrows at the mirror at the end of the bath, but as we’d booked a double room which was the only option left, we didn’t take advantage of this added extra 🤣 Breakfast at Heidi’s cafe was lovely and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, can’t praise them enough. We will definitely be back!

Lovely cute place to stay in Keswick, room was cosy and comfy bed. Lovely complimentary toiletries and room had everything you need for a comfortable stay. Hosts were really lovely , friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was delicious, I had the vegetarian option and it was so tasty! I would most definitely return to this guesthouse again. It also had a really cosy lounge with an honesty bar, which I thought was a lovely gesture. I was a bit peckish in the night and fancied a little snack, there was a great selection of things to choose from. Thankyou to the staff for a lovely stay, it was a shame I had only booked for the one night as I had to travel back for work the next day. I look forward to future bookings with this guesthouse.

The staff were very pleasant, efficient and friendly. As a solo traveller it meant a lot to see friendly faces in the morning to chat about my day. The room had all the necessary requirements, very comfortable bed, powerful hot shower, complimentary toiletries, refreshments, hairdryer and TV. The room was very clean and serviced every day. The breakfasts were delicious and satisfying with plenty of choice. There is also a comfortable and spacious residents' lounge with bar and guides to the area. The Edwardene is only 5 mins away from the centre of Keswick but on a quiet street.

Very peaceful, stylish property close to Keswick centre. Staff very helpful, friendly and polite. Everything in the Edwardene was pristine and comfortable, meticulously clean, wonderful hot showers and extremely comfortable bed. Slept so soundly during my stay. Breakfast was superb, great menu choice with daily specials…. better than most chain hotels. Service was very prompt and friendly. Staff were most helpful to answer any queries. Would have liked to have stayed for a few extra days and enjoy this lovely guest house more. There is a wonderful guest lounge on the middle floor. Very relaxing and plenty of reading material to hand. Would most definitely book Edwardene again if returning to the Lake District.

I have stayed at many different places in Keswick over the years and The Edwardene is one of the better places I have stayed. It is extremely clean, has better amenities than some of the other B&Bs I've stayed in, and the staff is very nice. At breakfast they give you multiple options for what you would like to eat and drink and the food is very good. The people who work there are kind and personable. My room was "Merlin" on the top floor, facing the street. It was quiet, the bed was VERY comfortable, and the en suite shower room was new and very clean. They provide bath products an lotion, tea maker with both tea and coffee, cookies, and water in a carafe. There is storage for your things and a desk/dressing table. Big, beautiful window with views over the rooftops and the fells. There is a spacious guest lounge where you can buy cake, wine, drinks, etc. and relax if you want a break in your day or a place to sit in the evening that isn't your room.

The property is very close to the main town but far enough away to be quiet. The building itself is beautiful and filled with period features. There’s a comfortable guest lounge with an amazing fireplace, an honesty bar, games etc. The rooms are well equipped with luxurious bedding, a well stocked complimentary tray with teas, coffees, hot chocolate, biscuits. A lovely bathroom. And all immaculately clean. Breakfast is award winning. Literally. The staff were all so friendly, informative and helpful. I couldn’t find anything to fault. Thank you for a fabulous stay. Only wish we had had enough time to try the passion fruit cake in the guest lounge.

Breakfast was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. Plenty of sauces, jams, preserves, fruit etc. Cooked breakfast was delicious, great black pudding. Lorna is lovely, very welcoming and aims to please. Little details were very subtle but noticeable even if you don't use them such as a jar with cotton wool balls, cotton buds etc in the bathroom, a shower cap, even a sewing kit in the room. Good selection of hot drink options in the room. Room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. Lorna even invites you to help yourself to snacks and energy bars to take out with you on your travels.

Simon and Lorna, the owners are very welcoming and friendly. Their friendlyness and personal touches are what makes your stay. They take their time to get to know you and really do go that extra mile! Our trip away was for my partner's birthday. Upon our arrival, in our room, there was waiting, for us, a birthday card, a birthday cake, a box of roses and three small bottles of wine. Simply amazing. Thank you! Simon is also very helpful with information about Keswick. During our stay he gave us information on getting into Keswick on foot via the old railway line and walking Latrigg (where to start, how to get there, which trails to take and not to take etc). Really helpful! Lorna is a great cook and makes a fantastic, tasty and filling full English breakfast. We had these both mornings and they really did set us up for the day. I thoroughly recommend the Broomfield B&B and we cannot wait to go again. Thank you Simon and Lorna for a great weekend!

This is a wonderful and cozy place. The room was very comfortable and had everything you need. The room has a kettle, a large selection of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and even marshmallows with cookies. Also glasses, goblets and even a corkscrew. Breakfast deserves special praise! It was very tasty, restaurant level in my opinion! The owners are very nice people and are ready to help if help is needed. We were left with very warm impressions of this hospitable family. The atmosphere of the house is very cozy and kind. We were 100% satisfied with our stay! I would like to wish prosperity to this place and all the best! Thank you very much!

Lorna was a fantastic host with fantastic customer service skills super friendly and welcoming. Our room was lovely and comfortable and well stocked with drinks and biscuits. The breakfast was superb, absolutely delicious with lots of choice. It was my sister's birthday the day after we arrived and there was a birthday card banner and gorgeous Victoria sponge cake awaiting her at breakfast time, such a lovely gesture. The location was fantastic and a stunning view of mountains from our window. We cannot wait to return on our next visit to Keswick. Thankyou so much for a wonderful stay, Sue Lindsay & Sarah.

I'd recommend it in a heartbeat, 10/10 every single time! Now that I'm back home, I can't stop thinking about our stay, it just sticks with you. The vibe was the perfect mix of fresh and cozy right off the bat. When a storm messed with our plans by breaking a window in the room we originally booked, our amazing host quickly upgraded us to a gorgeous 2-bedroom on the ground floor and gave us a heads up way in advance. Walking into that room was like stepping into a warm hug, indescribable really. The place was decked out with the finest touches and it's got me thinking about coming back to work from there remotely. Trust me, the online photos don't even come close to doing it justice. Even though the hotel faces the street, it transforms into a peaceful haven once you're inside. It feels like a magical escape with chic modern details that just dial up the tranquility. Located right in the heart of Keswick town, it's close to everything you'd need.

Excellent location in the centre of Keswick , perfect for visiting the lake and strolling around . Our loft apartment gave us amazing views of the surrounding mountains and was very clean, modern and spacious, bed super comfy, we loved it.

We loved our stay in this Keswick apartment. The layout is fantastic – you get views of the charming town from the kitchen and living room, and stunning fells and greenery from the bedroom. Being in the attic means you’re tucked away in a peaceful spot, and the clever window design lets you enjoy fresh air even when it rains. The bed and pillows were especially comfortable, and the kitchen was well-equipped (just bring your own tea and coffee). Be aware that the stairs are a bit steep, so you’ll want to be reasonably fit and nimble. The location couldn’t be better – right in the heart of town, surrounded by shops, restaurants, and easy access to walks. Highly recommend.

The location was perfect. Right in the middle of Keswick. Near lots of shops, pubs, cafes and walks/ cycling routes. Me and my partner don't drive and it was so easy to get to! It is near the bus station which you can take the 555 bus to get to various places in the lake district, including Windemere. It was super clean, modern and spacious. It was lovely, we had such an amazing and relaxing stay.

I don’t know how we lucked out by getting this accommodation late in the game but wow. Very nice stay in the center of Keswick. Central to the town and the Lakes District. We had the top floor apartment and it was wonderful. Super comfy, super clean, quiet, great bed and shower. Looks smaller in the photos than it is in person. Wish we could’ve stayed longer. Hope to come back some day.

Lovely hotel with lots of charm, our room was a nice size with a comfortable double bed, sofa and TV. The bathroom was a good size with a large shower cubicle. Everything was spotless! Beautiful white bedding and soft fluffy towels. The complimentary afternoon tea, coffee and cake was a lovely touch and the cake was delicious, all whilst sitting and taking in the beautiful views from the hotel. Breakfast again was amazing lots of great choices and freshly made to order, and a nice choice for the continental if you don’t fancy hot breakfast, we tried the Smoked Salmon and scrambled eggs, Cumbrian Cooked breakfast, poached eggs and my husband’s favourite the Boiled eggs with soldiers everything was spot on. Nothing was too much trouble, everyone was really friendly. Easy to park behind hotel and a short walk into Keswick where you have lots of pubs, restaurants and shops and even a market on Thursdays with lots of stalls selling everything from clothing to homemade sausage rolls. We will definitely stay again and recommend this hotel ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I really wasn't expecting the high quality of this hotel. I booked a single room and as a single traveller believe me I have stayed in the smallest of spaces over the years travelling a lot with my job. I was given an upgrade for which I was very grateful with a huge room and bed. The breakfast was cooked to order and I have to say was the best hotel breakfast I have ever eaten. Full Cumberland first morning and Kippers and poached eggs 2nd morning both were outstanding. Food was piping hot, staff were very professional. Free coffee and an amazing Almond cake in the afternoon while I worked were delicious. Free parking on site and literally 2 minutes walk to the centre with a beautiful view from the window. There is an honesty bar with very reasonable prices so I retired to my room with a very nice bottle of Merlot and some locally sourced preserves to take home from the little reception shop. There was absolutely nil sound from outside road noise and only the occasional door closing noise from the room next door with no TV or talking noise in my my room. Such a peaceful relaxing stay and a very good few nights sleep. Thankyou Team Highfield ! I cannot recommend highly enough.

Everything really but particularly the excellent breakfast. I had the full Cumbria breakfast both mornings. They also do free coffee and cake between 3 and 5 each afternoon. No bar in the hotel but they had an honesty bar which was well stocked with beers, spirits and nibbles. Just take what you want and log it in the register and settle up at checkout. Lots of comfortable seating areas with great views. Staff were friendly, professional and helpful.

I had a lovely stay at this hotel. The room was clean, cosy and had everything I needed. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout my visit. The location is perfect — close to shops, restaurants and public transport, yet quiet at night. Breakfast was fresh and varied. A pleasant, comfortable hotel with a warm atmosphere. I’d happily stay again.

Can I just say how wonderful my stay was at the Highfield in Keswick. I want to send my compliments to hotel manager Kathryn Cleghorn for giving me a call to do a check up, as I was arriving late from some hikes at Ambleside and Rydal, to make sure that everything was alright. As I arrived at the property, I was greeted with a most friendly welcome from Kathryn. She was personable and professional with my enquiries, which made my stay more enjoyable. The single room that I had on the highest floor was very clean and comfortable, and the temperate control on the showers was fantastic. The room was small but contained everything necessary for a solo traveller. The terrace garden overlooking the park was marvellous - perfect for those who want to unwind to some late summer drinks and see the sun set. The breakfast was impeccable. It was utterly delicious and had excellent options. Of equal measure were the staff and cooks who served you to give you the fuel you need for another day at the Lakes or your journey home. Very enjoyable stay, this is a well-run B&B with lovely hosts who are both friendly and helpful. Even before we arrived, we had received helpful directions to find them and some recommendations for local places to eat out, enabling us to book them in advance. On arrival, we were offered tea and coffee with delicious home made shortbread in the lounge, very welcome after a long drive. Our room had fantastic mountain views and was warm and comfortable, with a good ensuite shower. Breakfasts were delicious and well-cooked. Phil was brilliant in helping us get the most from our visit, directing us to the best local sights, both on foot and driving. They are based close to some truly spectacular scenery. I celebrated my birthday during our visit and was very touched to find a bottle had been left in our room that day to mark the occasion. If you're looking for somewhere to stay in the Keswick area then I would definitely recommend Hermiston Guest House

We had a very warm welcome from Phil when we arrived who showed us round to our beautiful room which was perfect for the two of us with amazing views too. The hotel was very neat and tidy with beautiful decor also some amazing photos taken by Phil around the hotel too. Breakfast was bob on too just the right amount of food and taste delicious. Phil and Helen was always avaliable for any questions or help we needed during the day too they went above and beyond with information about the surrounding area too also helping us dry our bike gear they was always happy to help. We would be more than happy to stay with Phil and Helen again as we had an overall amazing ,friendly and delicious experience at the Hermiston Guest house.

Proper guesthouse with very friendly and attentive hosts. They get the perfect balance between being helpful and informative while not being intrusive. On top of that, the service is as precise as you'd expect from a good hotel. Our room was spotless and had a great view. The area is beautiful and less touristy than other parts of the Lake District. Even so, there's a good array of nearby options to eat and if that's not enough, you're still very close to Keswick which has everything and all the connections you might need. Very happy to have chosen accommodation close to Buttermere, which is unspoilt and great for hiking. Be aware that the guesthouse is part of a private home. It has been expertly adapted to provide accommodation, still the building is fundamentally not built as a hotel so residents and guests have to be considerate of each other. The accommodation part of the house is well separated from the residential side which works very well and there's also shared space providing amenities for the guests. There's a small terrace to unwind, a reading area, some board games in case you've forgotten to pack yours. All in all it was perfect and allowed us to have a relaxed holiday without resorting to self-catering.

Great place, Phil and Helen very friendly and welcoming, also helpful with suggesting places to visit. Breakfast was great, lots of choices and plenty of it! Room was lovely, very clean and bathroom was modern and great rainfall shower. Nice to have the lounge and terrace available to sit and relax. Great location, right in Braithwaite village and close to Keswick, lots of other places a short drive away.

Phil and Helen are very very friendly and approachable. The beds were really really comfortable . The area was in a brillaint location and easy access . It was quiet. Our room was very spacious . The shower was fantastic and everything was in perfect working order . The whole place was immaculate and the garden area was kept so well and gave a peaceful and lovely little view. Couldnt complain at all

Great hospitality - Warm welcomed and very friendly! Lorraine and Simon our hosts were so kind and lovely. Fresh homemade cakes were the extra special treats for our afternoon tea. There were lots of little touches that made us feel incredibly well welcome. They even kindly allowed our friend who came to visit us to go upstairs in our room to have a cup of tea with us. We had a great and enjoyable afternoon with our friend! Excellent Breakfast - Beautifully cooked full English breakfast were so tasty. My fussy eater teenage son was really enjoyed his breakfast in the morning. Cleanness & comfy beds - Our room was clean and comfortable, with good beds and a great shower. I especially liked the good size of the window sill in the bathroom because I could easily put all my make-up, creams, hair brushes, my husband & my son's shaving foams, deodorant sets and toiletries etc on the big area of window sill. Excellent location - The Spar supermarket is just 2 minutes walk which is very handy to get your sandwiches, fresh fruits for your next day out! 5 minutes to walk to the town centre and leisurely short walk to the beautiful lake. The location is excellent! Super short walking distance to the town centre, 10 mins to the Derwentwater nearby. From Keswick, it's easy access to Buttermere (about 30mins drive). We are glad that we didn't live in Windermere as Keswick is quiet and cozy. The room is clean and tidy. When I walked in, it smelled fresh and sanitized, unlike many hotels in the UK with unpleasant musty smell. Super friendly host ♥️ Polite and helpful, we arrived earlier than check-in time, but we still managed to have the key and put our luggage inside the room. The breakfast is exceptional! I've never seen any hotel provide fresh fruit as delicate as here. When we came back from the hike, we saw 2 cakes for us at the reception😄 The lemon cake was tasty~moreover, the act was so thoughtful.

I can wholeheartedly recommend Lorraine and Simon’s accommodation. The B&B has a wonderfully warm and homely atmosphere. Everything is very clean, cosy and tastefully decorated. My bed was incredibly comfortable and I was pleasantly surprised to find a sink in my room, even though I had a (wonderful) private external bathroom. The breakfast was one of the very best I’ve ever had in a B&B as a gluten-free vegetarian. Unfortunately, I spent most of my stay in bed with a fever, but Lorraine and Simon were extremely kind and caring — they even left a small breakfast and freshly made ginger tea outside my door. Communication before and during my stay was excellent. Guests are kindly asked to observe certain quiet hours, which I found very relaxing. There was also a lovely atmosphere in the breakfast room with the other guests. I heard how warmly and affectionately Lorraine interacted with the local children on Halloween, which I thought was really lovely too. If I ever visit the Lake District again, I know exactly where I’ll stay! Thank you so much for everything!

We loved everything. The location, easy walk into the shops. The room (#8) up the top at the back with view of the fells out both sides. The room was very comfortable, it’s small but everything you need, comfy bed, comfy pillows, lovely towels, kettle with tea, coffee, hot chocolate and after Lorraine noted our request for decaf at breakfast, she supplied us with decaf in our room without us asking, which I thought showed such attentiveness to her guests. Delicious cake on arrival. The breakfasts were also delicious. I tried something different every day and loved it all. But a special mention of the porridge which is probably the best I’ve ever eaten. The hosts - absolutely lovely.

Charming B&B a hop & a skip from Keswick city center. It’s quiet, immaculately clean, and very comfortable. The hosts are welcoming & engaging-willing to help plan daily adventures. The breakfast was scrumptious (I loved the over night oats and porridge with fresh fruit and my boys loved the full English breakfast). The location is SUPERB, it is a few minutes walk to the bustling downtown with all its clever shops, pubs, stores yet it offers quiet/solitude. There is a charming cinema a block away & of course the main attraction, the lake is 10 minute walk. We had a lovely holiday and plan to return.

Had a fantastic 3 night stay at Ravenstone lodge, 27th to the 30th of October 2023. The staff were very welcoming on arrival Pete showed me around and told me about the location, what was near to the lodge. He made sure I was sorted for dinner that night as they have a lovely little restaurant that looks out towards the mountains. I had booked one of the large rooms as a treat for myself and wasn't disappointed! I stayed in the converted barn which is beautiful, characteristic and spacious, comfortable extra large bed, seating and old style wooden furniture, this room also has patio doors to the rear of the property looking up at Ullock pike. Very clean nice sized bathroom with a large shower, cannot fault the property or the staff one bit. Pete, Brett, Carolyn and the Chef were friendly and had fantastic customer care and service. The food was beautiful, good selection at breakfast to suit everyone and for dinner, any adjustments needed were made without a problem and everything was delicious! I will definitely be going back to stay at Ravenstone lodge in the future I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and was just what I needed, thank you to all the team. If you want somewhere quiet and cozy with views and delicious food I highly recommend this place.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, my boyfriend and myself felt extremely satisfied and cared for by the friendly and attentive staff at Ravenstone Lodge. Brett was exceptionally helpful and had a fantastic attitude. We were upgraded to the luxury room for no extra cost and as a new couple; this made our entire weekend even better. Clean room, bath robes, homemade cookies. Gorgeous dinner made by a very talented chef and a stunning atmosphere in both the converted barn - to dining area and seating area with a view. Breakfast was delicious. I had eggs benedict and my partner had a full breakfast. There was also muffins, cereals, fresh juice and coffee. All of the staff members were warming and welcoming. Our hike up Helvellyn was the perfect end to our stay at the Lake District. I will definitely return to Ravenstone Lodge in the future, thank you for making our stay become such a meaningful memory.

Lovely lodge with beautiful views from the terrace and restaurant. The room was a little on the small side, but ample for what we needed, and there is a lovely lounge area and patio if you want to relax. Dinner was amazing, I’d highly recommend to eat in the Terrace Restaurant, and the breakfast was great too, as was their home made Gin! All the staff were great, very welcoming and friendly. We’d definitely come back and stay again!

The staff, Pete and Charlie were so friendly, helpful and welcoming. Exceptional cuisine , homemade and fresh delicious bread and breakfasts, room was so quiet. Views amazing, bed really comfy. Oh and the homemade Gin just fantastic.

The Ravenstone was a lovely place in great surroundings. A great strong stone to other parts of the lakes. The room was clean and tidy with the usual offerings of tea coffee and some biscuits. The bed was very comfortable and warm. The view from the window was nice. Views from the dining area were astounding. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Even offering help to bring the luggage in. The food I ate was spot on. The fillet steak was melt in your mouth tender, probably the best I've eaten. Although not the cheapest. The pickled onion rings were an added tasty bonus. Sitting in the lounge in the evening was very relaxing with games to play and music playing in the background. (Some music questionable 😊) There was no urgency for you to leave the lounge so staff could lock up or anything like that. They went home and just asked you to turn the lights out when you left the lounge. All in all, it was a very relaxing place to be. We would definitely return to the Ravenstone but probably upgrade the room.

We came for a rare trip away without the kids for a big birthday and we absolutely loved this stay from start to finish. We ended up dining here too because it was just so cosy The staff were amazing and helpful at all times especially the young lady serving at dinner and breakfast. So nice to be welcomed like that, it made it so pleasant. There's a lovely woodland next door for a convenient and picturesque walk and you can see beautiful lake and forest views from the rooms and everywhere you look really. The house was beautifully and tastefully decorated for Christmas and it was just perfectly done. Loads of good parking and easy to get to. The evening meals in the snug or bar are delicious and breakfast set us up for the whole day! Wonderful breakfast choices. A proper getaway.

Absolutely beautifully restored Manor. Every reception room was an experience. The dinners and breakfasts were exceptional. Amazing Chefs. Rooms are very cozy, even though we had one of the smallest rooms it was really lovely with a fantastic view, I can’t imagine there would be a “bad” room in this hotel. The staff are polite professional and helpful, and some of them are very friendly and cheerful. I love that the place is so dog friendly, even the outside guests who come regularly just for dinner, expect there to be dogs around at dinner. Don’t come to this hotel if you don’t like dogs because the dogs are definitely special guests here. Our dog loved it.

The food and choice of drinks were great. Staff were friendly plenty of different areas to sit lounges, outside garden, the bar and restaurant. Beautiful views. Comfortable room with ensuite Inc complimentary toiletries. Full bath as well as shower. The offer of housekeeping and invitation to dinner on the evening at breakfast. The level of service, friendly without being imposing. Walks that were easy medium and difficult levels. Excellent daily options for dinner as well as fabulous range of choices of local food too. I love that dogs are also very welcome with doggie bath and specific towels for them too.

Had the most amazing New Years Stay at Ravenstone Manor. The hotel is on Bassenthwaite Lake with beautiful views and direct paths up Skiddaw. Fantastic location for good access to the Northern lakes. Food in the restaurant was exceptional. Very helpful staff who were friendly and open. There was different spaces to sit - the living room had great views of the lake. And the nook had a roaring fire to have a drink by after a long days walking. The hotel was unique in that it was extremely dog friendly. I don't have a dog but love animals and loved being surrounded by animals all day with their friendly owners! Would highly recommend and would stay again! In fact, I actually extended my stay by a day!

Staff were super helpful and attentive, the building was gorgeous and so were the views. Bus stop located right outside — it has buses that go into Keswick, but also all the way up to Carlisle for convenient train connections. Breakfast and dinner were fantastic, with good vegetarian options. Room was clean and comfy. Pillows were nice, duvet was pretty heavy for summer but that’s fine. Shower was good water pressure.

From the moment we arrived at Dalkeith Guest House, we were made to feel welcome and at home. We were quickly shown to our room and was greeted with an incredible view of Skiddaw. The room was immaculate and all the facilities you would need for a short break in the lakes, including a Nespresso Coffee machine. We both especially loved the shower, and the bed was very comfortable. Each morning of our stay we were served at breakfast by Rachael who ensured we had everything we needed and was very friendly and took an interest in her guests. The choice of breakfast was great and delicious English breakfast! Overall a great stay in the lakes thanks to this great accommodation. We will be back for sure.

Hosts were very welcoming and helpful. The B and B was really clean and quiet. The room was clean and well equipped, with lots of storage space and plug sockets. Breakfast was fresh, lots of choice and my dietary needs were catered for without a problem. I was also offered top ups of fresh coffee and toast, which was a nice touch. We had a fabulous 3 night stay at the Dalkeith Guest House! It was immaculate, throughout. The room was spacious, bright and beautifully decorated. Beds were comfortable. The home baked treats left in our room were well appreciated and delicious, thank you! Breakfast was superb, with a great choice. Our hosts were so friendly and welcoming! The location was quiet but still close to walks, shops, cafes etc. We visit Keswick regularly and this is definitely one of the nicest places we have stayed.

I had a perfect stay at this lovely bnb and there was literally nothing not to like! The room was clean and cosy, the breakfast’s delicious, the location was great- just 5 mins walk into town. Rachel and her family were so friendly and welcoming- I couldn’t have asked for more!

Having traveling into Keswick And the Lake District for the first time from East Anglia, the Greystoke House was a welcomed respite from hours of hiking with our pup. We loved that we were a 4 minute walk into a nearby park to walk the dog, the old town for the Saturday Market and restaurants; and could leave for hikes from the B&B as it’s super close to the trails. The charge for dogs is only £10/stay and they have towels to clean off your pup as you come into the B&B. Between the beautiful, large room with ample natural lighting to ridiculously comfortable bedding (and I’m quite the bedding snob, just sayin), and the delightful breakfast; I’m not sure it gets much better than this! Jon and Emma were the perfect hosts, so welcoming, friendly, accommodating, and our room was always clean and well stocked with coffee and biscuits. You’d never know they also live here with their family, it’s so quiet; as is the neighborhood in general. I especially loved the window seating area which was perfect for morning coffee or afternoon tea. We have visited immediately after the opening of the country after COVID restrictions and are happy to share that the owners are taking every precaution, and then some extras to ensure visitor safety. At no point during our stay did we feel our health and wellness was in jeopardy. Can’t wait to return to Keswick now that we have our go-to B&B sorted.

Jonathon & Emma were wonderful friendly hosts, breakfast was excellent and very delicious. The room we had was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was also very clean and the shower awesome! Although I was dubious to start with, the self check-in is a great idea and easy to use, such a convenience for traveller and host alike. Same goes for ordering breakfast on the app the day before - easy to use and a great idea! Excellent location, very close to the town centre. I thought parking was going to be a problem, especially being a bank holiday weekend, but not so - plenty of available spaces in the little side streets. So much to do round and about. The walk round Derwent Water (10 miles) was most enjoyable - good footpaths. The Pencil Museum in Keswick is worth a visit. "The Square Orange" and "Casa Bella", 2 excellent restaurants we ate at.
