We loved the cabin and restaurant. It was roomy and perfect for our family. There was plenty of living space and bedrooms. The hot tub took 30 minutes to fill but it was hot and clean. The cabin was very clean and beds were comfortable. It had all of the supplies we needed. There was a grill in the deck. It was central to many of the Golden Circle attractions. Everyone we talked to at the reception area was very helpful and friendly. We had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant. Breakfast was okay. Our dinner was tasty and prices seemed pretty good.

Place was great, very clean and friendly. Front desk was helpful and informative. Pros: 1. large place and fully stocked kitchen with fridge, stove, and supplies. ambiance of log cabin feel, amazing. 2. living room great, couch/sitting area with open floor plan. wished there was 2nd bathroom but not dealbreaker. 3. restaurant at the hotel, good food. 4. warm water in shower and hot tub didn't have jets, just have to fill with water. 5. patio area, private. Wifi was great and worked fine. Cons: none, just wished there were jets on hot tub and 2nd bathroom. enjoyed our visit, even gave free drinks on checkin and friendly.

Cottages were spacious, comfortable, quiet, and clean. The views were nice and the restaurant was great after a long day of exploring. Food was delicious!

Very cute and rural. 20 mins from Selfoss but little light pollution in the area. We saw the northern lights from the hot tub! but they were easier to see when we took a drive. Very convenient to a lot of golden circle stops and great that it had a restaurant because there aren't many super close. Did not have ice or free coffee and there was no breakfast available. Kitchen was nice to have for sure. There was no oil or anything though. Hot tubs and shower were very hot! Cabin was also cozy. You cannot control the temperature.

The location was exceptional, together with the facilities at the house it was the perfect stay for us. Never seen such a complete cottage as this one. Big compliments to the owners. Loved the jacuzzi as well!

We had a group of four who stayed in the lovely cottage. The place seemed to be newly completed and everything was sparkling clean. We enjoyed using the outdoor jacuzzi & even caught a glimpse of the northern lights.

Spacious, clean and comfortable cottage. The kitchen is well equipped. Great location for viewing Northern lights. Nice hottub on the deck. The host is responsive and accommodate.

Superb, very comfortable, very well equipped and perfectly clean. Our family was able to enjoy the jacuzzi and we observed our first Northern Lights from the porch of our cottage. Easy access location, possibility of parking the car right in front of the entrance.

The beds were very comfortable, and I absolutely loved the jacuzzi — I even got to see the northern lights while relaxing in it! I could also see them just outside the house. Overall, the accommodation was excellent.

House in an incredible and peaceful location. There are some distance from other houses which allows one to enjoy the landscape and also have some privacy. The house is very well maintained and have all the required commodities. Also have a very nice jacuzzi.

wonderful stay with stunning views and a relaxing hot tub. The bed was very comfortable, and the large windows made the space bright and welcoming. The kitchen was well-stocked with utensils for two, and having basics like oil, salt, and coffee provided was a thoughtful touch.

We loved our stay! The cabin is brand new, well decorated and very cozy. They had everything we needed, microwave, cooktop, Coffe machine, toaster etc… We also liked how easy was the self check in and check out. The cabins are in a great location, easy to find, very quiet place and with amazing views. The hot tub was ready and warm upon arrival and we could enjoy it straight away which was much appreciated. I would definitely recommend it!

Modern new cabin with exceptional view. Fully equipped kitchen (incl. olive oil, salt, pepper, coffee). You need to have a car to get there. Cabins are close to main attractions in Golden Circle Area. Hot tub just in front of the cabin. Fully recommended.

I can’t say enough about this property. The cabin was modern and immaculate. It’s like your own personal heaven! The private hot tub was a perfect end to sightseeing all day and looking up at the stars and the northern lights is indescribable. We bought some groceries from a local market and breakfast and coffee with gorgeous views. I recommend this to everyone. Easy to get to and a perfect location I plan to stay in again on my next trip!

We have stayed at the Blue View cabins many times in the last months. They are an ideal get-a-way, of peaceful privacy in your own home away from home. We celebrated our Valentines Day together this last stay, and as a romantic retreat.. it could not have more perfect. We met the owner & understand why - all was built by hand with love!

This was one of my favorite stays during our ring road trip. Turf on the roof, hot tub, very clean. I loved the entry area for hanging clothes and keeping bags. Also loved the painted bird pics on the walls - very homey. The views from every window looked like a painting. Calming, comfortable, relaxing. Loved it!

Very comfortable for 4 adults. Wonderful view. Clean and modern.

Highly recommended.

Positives: Well located with a good restaurant across the road, newly opened wine bar next door and minimart /petrol station nearby Tasty breakfast Very powerful shower Modern room Good blackout blinds Room for improvement: The breakfast is the same everyday so if you're doing a multi night stay it can get a bit samey. WiFi wasn't very good No air con in the room so we had to leave the window open and got bitten by the flies that got in Shower only had a curtain so the bathroom gets soaked after using it.

One night - driving thru, convenient aelf check in, hot tub nice touch. Restaurant Mika was amazing across street. Loved artwork. Liked amtge family run hotel vibe it gave off. Very convenient parking. Breakfast spread was great! Room was very comfortable and spacious. Surrounding areas convenient. Loved seeing the tomato farm and feeding hat to the beautiful horses in the morning. Great homebase to visit the Golden Circle.

We stayed here for two nights in October 2022. Our cottage had three small rooms- a living room/kitchenette and two bedrooms, plus bathroom/shower. Pros: - location worked great for us- 10 min. driving to Geysir, 15 min driving to the waterfall, also 10 min opposite direction to the gas station and minimart. - host was very friendly and sincere, really willing to create a welcoming atmosphere - The breakfast we ordered (cost $12 per person ) was pretty good- cereal, coffee, bread, ham and cheese, milk and orange juice, boiled eggs in a basket that you are supposed to pick up from the restaurant the night before. - Beds were comfortable - You will have everything necessary for making your own meals in the kitchenette- plates, utensils, pots and pans, fridge, coffeemaker, kettle, microwave. - There is a hottub in the common area (we didn’t have time to use it) Cons: -major disappointment was complete absence of wi-fi the first day (the host was trying to solve the problem but didn’t succeed), the second night we were able to get some signal but it was too weak and we got disconnected every twenty minutes. Don’t choose this place if you are dependent on the wi-fi to work remotely or to do anything else. - This place needs better cleaning- some utensils were in the drawer unwashed after previous guests, plates in the cupboard greasy. Many kitchen appliances and places need to be cleaned as well. Also our living room needed shades or curtains. We still enjoyed

Charming cottages. We had three people in our party (my wife, daughter, and me). Our cottage was a two-bedroom. Beds were comfy. Bathroom was clean and sizable. Sitting/Kitchen areas were comfy and spacious. We had a stove, fridge, etc., but never used them. We arrive past check-in and they left a note and a map for us on the window of the kitchen door. Very nice touch! My only complaint is that we couldn't really find the jacuzzi. My daughter expressed an interest in using it (she loves water!), but when it took a little bit of effort to locate it, she just decided to go to bed. Highest marks!

We’ve loved our stay in the cottage! Very clean, quiet, and safe with incredible views. We have our own private hot tub, very comfortable beds, and cozy accommodation. The restaurant staff were so friendly and kind for dinner- the food was great as well. Highly recommend the slow cooked lamb sandwich. We would definitely return and recommend to friends who visit Iceland. The price of the accommodation and food is very competitive to nearby places on the Golden Circle. We are so thankful we booked this stay!

The cottage was perfect for our family of 4. Beautiful views, convenient walk to the restaurant. and easy drive to area attractions like the Falls. The staff was friendly and very helpful! We would definitely recommend this for visitors who want to get away from the city and explore more of Iceland.

AMAZING! This was by far my favourite hotel in Iceland. When we arrived we were greeted by the 3 cutest farm dogs (who only wanted belly rubs). After playing with them, we checked in and were given an upgrade to the "Traditional Double or Twin Room, Private Bathroom, Mountain View" -- which was perfection. I would really recommend booking this room as it was very private with gorgeous view and had all the amenities you need. Additionally, I would HIGHLY recommend purchasing the breakfast they serve. Its farm to table and everything is incredibly fresh (eggs picked that morning). Breakfast also comes with a show, as you get a view of the dairy cows chowing down on their breakfast alongside you. Note: The driveway - there is a bit of a hill to get up to this hotel. I drove a KIA and was able to get up without issue - but would caution those who are not familiar w/ driving in snow to use caution.

What an amazing place to stay. Perfect location, friendly staff, amazing food and comfortable beds. We also went on a horseback ride to a nearby waterfall that was AMAZING. I can't say enough good things about this place. We would return in a heart beat. Oh and they have an amazing trampoline for kids to bounce on.

Great farm based hotel and restaurant. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Restaurant has excellent local food. One can even watch the farm's cows munching hay in their barn through plate glass windows while dining in the restaurant! Rooms are cleaning and comfortable. Good WiFi.

I had the most magical stay at this hotel. It was like walking into a christmas movie or something. The restaurant was delicious and you could tell it was all very fresh! Make sure you get some ice cream too, it will change your life. The rooms are like little cabins and they're so cozy and cute. We lucked out and ended up getting to see the most incredible Northern Lights show the night we stayed here, it was just so magical. It also started snowing literally as we turned to go up the driveway. It was like a winter wonderland or a fairy tale or something. They have all the cows grazing that you can watch from dinner or on the main level, and even some little calves too. They were so cute. This would be a perfect place to stay if you plan on doing the golden circle tour as it's pretty centrally located to most of the locations. And definitely check out the geothermal pools just a quick drive down the road!

The Efstidalur Farmhouse was a lovely stay. It is charming, the staff is nice and helpful, and there is a restaurant onsite for breakfast and dinner (u sure about lunch as we weren’t there at that time). The rooms are cozy, shower is small, but that’s pretty standard for Europe. One caution- be careful where you step- as a working farm, there are animals around and they leave poop…don’t step in it!

This guest house is very clean and well maintained. The location was excellent, and we lucked out with a great northern lights show in mid-Sept. Our room was on the 3rd floor, there was no shower on that floor so we went down to the 2nd floor for showers, but not a big deal (no waiting, though the inn was pretty full). The breakfast was excellent, and the house spacious and truly historic. There are many rooms and open areas to relax and read, even a yoga room in the basement. The guests were all quiet and peaceful. Shoes are removed at the entry, which helps to keep it clean. If stairs are a problem, you should request a room on the 2nd floor, an elevator goes up to that level.

We enjoyed our stay at this guesthouse/hostel. It is in an old school building with traditional decor which made it feel quite homey. The room was clean and comfortable. Dinner and breakfast at the restaurant were delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful!

Place with an old school character and incredibly amazing selection of music played in the restaurant and a cozy shared sitting / living room. Very happy with the selection in breakfast buffet and many organic and GF options. We loved the food and also the cook that prepared our dinner veg lasagna. Thank you. Love & Peace.

We had a very nice stay here. Staff were friendly and helpful. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. the bed was comfortable. Tasty breakfast with plenty of choices. It was a short stroll down the hill to the Fontana geothermal baths.

The staff was amazing. Friendly, helpful & knowledgeable. We drove to our guesthouse in Laugarvatn. Check-in was easy. The front desk staff was so helpful. The guy even offered to go home and get his US converter for me and he let me buy it from him later. We brought ours, but the fuse must be blown because it isn’t working. I choose to book us in rural places because our primary focus is looking for the Northern Lights and you need to be away from the light pollution for that. This spot was good, but the hotel is not for light searching. The guesthouse is lit up at night in each of the windows, which make the hotel look super cool, but it would be nearly impossible to see the lights with those shining right in to your windows like they do there. We could see the lights form the parkging lot, but too much light polution there prevented good photographs. We headed out both nights to the south end of Laugarvatn on a desolate road with the lake in front of us and we sat to watch the aurora. God showed us the aurora both nights we were there. Amazing beauty.

Harold is a wonderful host, so warm and friendly and clearly dedicated to proper hospitality and his guesthouse is so comfortable, clean and cosy. The beds were really comfortable and we slept very well. There is tea and coffee in the rooms and the shared bathroom is modern and clean with a very powerful shower. Harold let us use the main kitchen to cook on our first night and it had all utensils we needed. We booked a room with private bathroom for our second night and it turned out to have a small, well stocked kitchen and small table with chairs where we cooked and ate dinner, it felt more like a small apartment than guesthouse room. The breakfast was also delicious both days. Harold advised us on where to go outside the house for the best chance of seeing the northern lights and we did see them! We would gladly have stayed here for our entire trip if we hadn't planned to travel south. This was the best guesthouse I've stayed in anywhere in Europe and was fantastic value for money. Harold sorry we didn't get to see you when we were leaving to say goodbye, we'll be back if we're ever in the area again.

Beautiful guesthouse in a quiet and peaceful location. Everything is sparkling clean and the house has so much natural light. The room was spacious and clean. The host, Haraldur is a wonderful man, such a pleasure meeting him and talking to him. He showed us around the house, explained everything, including the Icelandic breakfast. The breakfast included in the room rate is also very good, fresh and varied. There is good coffee, tea and how chocolate for guest to make. Also guest can use the kitchen to cook dinner for themselves. It was such a good experience to stay there, I totally recommend it.

Great house and great value! Our room was spacious and comfortable with a mini fridge, kettle and some coffee supplies. The house is spacious with a huge downstairs kitchen/dining area and a well stocked kitchen. The man cleaning each morning was friendly and has a very cute and friendly dog. but the highlight was the SHOWER! Top 5 showers of my life, the water pressure was so strong it felt like standing under a waterfall. Truly incredible. Also good wifi

Some people mention that it's a run down place. I totally disagree... the rough weather of the area may make it look a bit washed from the outside, but our room was lovely, the kitchenette in the room was nice, there was free tea and coffee. The breakfast included Icelandic specialties and it was great. The owner is a very kind man, he gave us recommendations about restaurants and we enjoyed the dinner there. Furthermore, he was also giving information about Icelandic food and places to see. The wifi was free of charge. Thank you very much!

The house is super nice, cozy, very good equipped and well located. The room is big enough for two people (with small kitchen though I’d recommend to use the big kitchen as it has everything you need), modern facilities and clean. The host cares a lot of his guests, Harald also prepares a local tasty breakfast and takes his time to explain how to prepare the Iceland breakfast. Super recommended Guesthouse!!

I had a wonderful stay in Laugarvatn! The location is perfect for exploring the Golden Circle, and it was so peaceful and serene around the house as well. The accommodation was cozy and clean, with all the necessary amenities.

Amazing location, it is remote, but there are great signs so it is easy to find. Really comfortable house with everything you could need. Really clean and cozy.

We had an amazing time here and especially because our really kind host asked us if we want to use the outdoor jacuzzi (just to be precise, that means hot tub, no bubbles) in a freezing weather of -15 degrees and high winds and we said yes. We really liked it, thank you!

This hotel is exceptional in many different ways and our stay there was one of the highlights of our trip to Iceland. The location is great. The first view of the hotel as you arrive is beautiful and irradiates a sense of calm and cleanliness and seems to fit just perfect in the scenery. It is within walking distance (less than 5 minutes) from the Laugarvatn Fontana thermal bath. We had chosen the hotel on purpose as it is very close from the attractions on the Golden Circle (less than 30 minutes drive to each of Thingvellir National Park, Gulfoss and Geysir) and it is the perfect spot to finish a long day by relaxing at the Fontana thermal bath and then having dinner at the hotel (the lamb was really delicious). The inside of the hotel is tasteful and everything seems to have been arranged with great care, with many inviting common areas (a beautiful library). We had a room with a bathroom where everything was impecable and with cosy details (such as nice magazines about Iceland), a nice desk and plenty of space. The beds were just perfect and we could not have been more relaxed the next day after a good night's sleep. All this was already a wonderful experience. To make it even better, the people at the hotel are extremely helpful and nice. Dan, the hotel's manager, in particular is a treasure trove of information regarding Iceland, very friendly and very knowledgable. We would love to return to Iceland and certainly we would love to return to this hotel.

We loved this place, huge building, plenty of social common areas to relax in as the bedrooms are quite cosy It’s shared bathrooms but they were very clean and we had no problems. Loved the decor everywhere, very interesting and eclectic Small Supermarket 2 minute walk away so we bought some food to make our own cooked breakfast. There’s a huge basement room with toaster microwave kettle and huge fridge. Plenty of seating and a pool table and showers down there also. We had dinner in their restaurant, lovely food and great service Staff are super friendly and very helpful Pretty beach area for a walk and a spa place, supposed to be lovely but we didn’t visit

Room - it's modest but it had everything i needed. The bed was comfortable, the room was warm and the bathroom was clean. I had a great view from the room to the outside as it was the last room in the hall. Breakfast, lunch, dinner - I had all the meals there as I stayed within the park for my outings and it was easy to just come back and have my meals there as I passed it between locations. The meals were all excellent. I am vegetarian and the staff was super accommodating to provide just fantastic meals. I found all the areas to be clean even though the first night was crowded

The staff was amazing: very responsive, attentive, they gave us all the useful info beforehand and contacted us also via WhatsApp to ensure we had received everything. The room with the private bathroom was huge and new with design furniture. The bed and pillow were SO comfortable.

This little guesthouse is lovely. Perfect for travelers who are looking for a night or two to stay with a comfortable home base. The room was spacious, bathroom very nice, and everything was clean and well appointed for an easy coffee in the morning. Very quiet facility!

The apartment is very modern, clean, nice, and well-equipped. We had everything we needed for our stay in the rooms and bathroom, as well as the fridge in our room. By the way, the snack and drink fridge in the corridor was also an amazing idea! The owners are very friendly and nice; they provided us with very useful information and instructions we needed for our stay, and they were always there to respond quickly to our questions, etc. What's more, it was so nice to receive their little welcome gift: Icelandic chocolate! We also loved this little charming city very much. We hope to come back again one day. Highly recommended! P.S. the location is amazing!

We didn’t have problems with our check-in and out, and the staff were really friendly and welcoming. Our room was big, very clean, tidy and warm. The hotel provided us towels, fresh sheets and blankets. There were plenty of hangers where to put jackets, hats ecc, which was useful. The bathroom was amazing, very big and the shower could easily fit two people. The water flow was strong and the temperature was perfect. The sink was also big enough to be used by two people at the same time. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and the menu offered a small variety of dishes but they all looked very tasty. We ordered curry with lamb (which was a bit too spicy for my tastes but it was really good) and two different desserts, also really really good. We also ate breakfast at the hotel and they offered both a sweet and salty type of breakfast, very very good. (We paid 2400kr each) I 100% recommend this hotel

We loved this bright, clean, and hospitable hotel. The location was stellar and the staff were all very warm and courteous, which made for a very relaxing stay. A bonus surprise for us was the delicious lamb stew we had in their dining room. It was so very tasty and the crusty bread that came with it was perfect! I wish we could've tried their fish stew as well. Our room was lovely - it was super clean, had a terrific shower, and a big window with a scenic view. As other reviewers have said, the room is quite small so we were prepared to pack efficiently and it worked out fine for us. There was a cupboard under the sink in which we stored our toothbrush, etc. My mattress was slightly uneven (flatter on one side), and perhaps they could be turned more often. The elevator came in handy as we were on the upper level. The town itself is peaceful, with the Fontana spa just steps away. The gas station close by was also a nice convenience. We stayed two nights which gave us ample time to visit the must-see sites in the Golden Circle, plus have time for impromptu hikes and stops along the way. It was nice to come back to the hotel at the end of the day and have tea in the airy dining room before retiring to bed. We had a such a memorable stay here, and commend the staff for attending to the many small details which made our holiday so enjoyable!

Staff at the reception and the restaurant were all very helpful and friendly. Room was clean and comfortable, except that the mattress was a too soft. Restaurant has lake view and a cozy, homely setting that makes a relaxing spot after a long day hiking. Delicious cod fish is a must-try at the hotel's restaurant.

The property is in a beautiful location with many amazing views. Upon arrival we were upgraded to a lake view and it did not disappoint. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. My husband and I really enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere and how sweet the staff are. They offer a complimentary coffee, tea, hot chocolate station. The beds were very comfortable and we highly recommend.

Dear Golden circle domes Lakeview, I am writing to say thank you for a wonderful stay on your luxurious, comfy and glamorous Igloo dome. The night stay way a surprise, which ended up as a proposal. On arrival, the romantic twinkly lights lit up the dome and the sunset and surrounding areas made it a perfect location for a getaway. When entering the dome, the room was decorated with balloons, petals, candles, cake and a very lovely bottle of champagne. This personal touch made the environment perfect for the proposal. Inside the dome, the amenities were delightful, we had fresh towels, coffee, toiletries and we loved using the logs on the fire. The view from the top bed looked directly up to the stars and made the stay unforgettable. We made very good friends with the woodcutter and handy man who supported us in a snowy ordeal. The staff were friendly and supported to us during this time. We appreciate the effort that has gone into making this the perfect stay and will recommend to our friends. Thank you again!

The domes were in a great location for driving the golden circle. They were extremely clean and modern so while your views were amazing, you didn't feel like you were camping at all. The beds were comfy and the dome had all the amenities and more than a hotel room. Was a fun and unique place to stay with our kids on our Southern Coast adventure.

Beautiful, modern suite with nicely equipped kitchen and lovely furnishings. Beds were very comfortable with luxury linens. The fireplace was stocked with plenty of wood and really helped to warm the space, not to mention being romantic. We thoroughly enjoyed the bottle of wine; such a nice touch. We can't say enough about how incredible the domes are. Their unique design is perfect for stargazing and watching the Aurora show, which we were fortunate enough to witness!

It was absolutely perfect! Amazing view, comfortable bed. Kitchenette was well equipped. Fireplace was easy to use and made it feel like home. I will definitely visit again.

Excellent location, easy drive to the key attractions at Golden Circle. Very unique experience of glamping, ie. luxury camping with modern bathroom, kitchen, nice beds, dining tables and even a fire place. We didn't meet any staff but communication was smooth and friendly. Our kids totally had fun and enjoyed the option of sleeping "upstairs" or on the couch. The dome didn't look big but offered tons of storage space. The kitchenette didn't look big but has everything you need to cook. Plus everything looks new!

The cabin location was perfect for visiting the Golden Circle sights. We were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights from the cabin, and the sunrises were beautiful through the panoramic windows. The cabin itself was warm, spacious, and it had all the basics needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The washing machine and dryer were particularly useful. There is a small supermarket nearby which was convenient.

Small single room. Quiet location. Never met the owners, they just emailed me instructions (which were clear and in advance, so that was really convenient). Lots of carparking. Great location within the Golden Circle. I used the kitchen facilities (stove/fridge) to cook which worked well. Towel provided. If you walk to Faxafoss (waterfall) it takes about 15-20min each way, if you drive there you pay a parking fee of 700ISK. There was a washing machine available there but I didn't use it (but in Iceland getting laundry done can sometimes be tricky so this might appeal to people). If I was in the area again, I would look to stay again. Good price. I felt safe. Wifi worked well.

Everything was perfect! The cottage was clean and well equipped (oven, stove, pans, microwave, coffee machine, cattle and nice and warm shower). The terrace was nice with the Mountain View. If I knew how amazing the place was, I’d stay more than a night

The location, peaceful & quiet. Near to the golden circle and able to travel to Vik and back in a day. Enjoyed the hot tub. The accommodation was clean, warm and comfortable and well equipped. We had everything we needed thank you.

When we arrived, it turned out that the owner had mistakenly given the cabin 4A intended for us to other guests, so we got cabin 4B. This was to our great advantage: Cabin 4B is newer and very well renovated, new bathroom, very good kitchen, good oven, good sleeping space and good mattresses. The owner was always available, friendly, helpful. I'd be happy to come back, thank you very much!

The cottage is directly next to the road from Selfoss to Geysir, yet it was super quiet and peaceful. The mattresses were extremely comfortable and the kitchen brand new. We had an issue with the outside facilities but the host was very quick to react and offer an alternative. We were truly sorry to leave after 3 nights.
