Just returning from a First World War five day tour. This hotel was our base. Nice large room and spacious shower room although you did have to be a bit careful getting out!! Comfortable bed but a bit too soft for me however I still slept well. There were two pillows and of course I chose the soft one in error but switched once I noticed my mistake. Breakfast was copious and good and set you up for the very long days. They do offer evening meals which I believe are prepared off site and just heated up in the hotel kitchen before serving. A very nice choice of courses and very reasonable as well. I had dinner at the hotel on one night and thoroughly enjoyed it with a very nice glass of rose. The hotel is very centrally located and within minutes of bars and restaurants. Would definitely stay again. The staff are all very friendly and helpful.

Room was spacious and clean. The hotel lobby and bar area was very clean and well presented. We were welcomed by a gentlemen with a grey white beard who was excellent and very nice. We got a warm welcome! Coffee was amazing. Great value for money. Location was brilliant! vibrant area full of bars, restaurants and shops.

Went on an organised coach trip Bed and breakfast. The rooms are big and clean and the beds are so comfy! Best nights sleep ever in a hotel. Breakfast area small but enough tables and good restocked when asked staff. Good selection of continental breakfast and also bacon scrambled eggs and beans. The bread was freshly baked and delicious. Had a drink in the bar ( which is also the restaurant) reasonably priced. 2 Belgium beers 9euro. Set near the pretty town square we had the added bonus of their small Christmas market. Lovely stay

Excellent hotel for Leger Battlefields tour trip.We stayed for three nights and the whole experience was wonderful. Easy check in, lovely clean room,comfortable beds and a great hot and cold buffet breakfast. We even had tea coffee and a kettle supplied in the room. Easy walk in to town to bars and restaurants.

We loved our stay here. Check in was very easy & handy lockers available to store our bags until the room was ready (we arrived very early!). Staff all friendly especially towards my overexcited 7 year olds. We had a suite which was amazing - especially the jacuzzi bath. The hotel is also only 5 mins walk from the Grand Place and 10 mins from the Eurostar station so very handy all round. We will definitely be back.

A fantastic hotel, really friendly and helpful staff, modern, clean and well located. Had dinner in restaurant one evening and whilst it was pricey the food and service were exceptional. Everything in mini bar is free and if you choose not to have a daily towel change and clean they give you tokens for drinks in the bar, eco friendly and generous as they don’t limit type of drink you have. Highly recommend this hotel.

Great service from the front desk, including advice on things to see and do during our brief visit. The hotel itself is right on the edge of the old town (the pretty bit of Lille) so all the bars & restaurants are within a short walk. The room was clean and quiet, although there is only a sliding partially frosted glass door separating the shower and sink from the bed area. Breakfast was buffet style and included fresh bread & pastries, bacon and eggs, and pretty much anything else you could think of. Would definitely stay here again.

Hotel is very centrally located, around 8-10 minute pleasant walk to the main square. Check in time advertised as 2pm, we arrived around 1pm and left our cases with Reception and had a quick stroll to get our bearings. Once we had checked in to our suite we were really impressed by the size and facilities in the room. Living area had sofa, chairs, TV and tea/coffee facilities. Bathroom with large bath and rain shower. Bedroom with comfy King size bed and TV. Couldn't fault any aspect. We didn't use the bar or restaurant but they looked stylish and clean, in keeping with the decor throughout the hotel. Would totally recommend this hotel!

At a short walking distance to the old Lille. Quiet during the night despite being on a main road. Public underground parking nearby. Tasty modern decoration, huge deluxe room, very comfortable bed, glass partition to the bathroom area which looks modern but lets the vapour from the bathroom to enter the bedroom. Very good breakfast and service.

The Calm Appart Hotel is located within a 10 minute walk of Lille European Station, and 5 minute walk from Lille Flanders station. It is tucked away down a quiet side street, bust easy to find and well located for exploring Lille old town and centre. Both receptionists we met, were very welcoming and helpful. We were on the second floor in a well appointed and clean room. It had a well equipped kitchenette with hot plate, fridge, sink and microwave, which were all like new. The room had aire conditioning and an electronic safe, a small foldaway dining table for two, a good sized desk and chair. The ensuite bathroom was also very clean and well presented with a 3/4 length bath with a good shower over. It lacked a shower curtain, but the shower was in a recess so not really a problem. The room overlooked a quiet side street, the only suprise was the sex shop opposite, but that had some amusement value and we didn't see any shennanigans or feel at all threatened on the street. The optional breakfast was delivered to the room by the receptionist and consisted of the usual continental style breakfast of cereals, milk, orange juice, pain au chocolate , coissants, french stick, butter and conserves and tea or coffee. It was a bit pricey, but more than enough fresh food delivered to the door, so no complaints there.

Modern all white large rooms, full kitchen, big baths w showers, AC, clean and comfy. Large bed w quality sheets. Excellent staff are friendly helpful and all speak English. Located very close to train station about a block down one side street. Small grocery nearby and larger grocery a few blocks away for easy breakfast in room. Excellent large room, very comfortable and well located in old town.

Clean, fabulous staff, fantastic location, quiet, convenient, great service, great facilities, just amazing. I wish more hotels were like this. I'd come back again for sure. Definitely recommend them. Such good rest both my toddler and I. Very helpful staff and so friendly with my kiddo. Just warm and helpful.

Convenient stay super close to the train station. Was upgraded to double apartment, on the 3rd floor, beautiful large clean room with a kitchenette. Very comfortable, quiet stay!

The hotel was well located for our visit to Lille. Easy walking to city centre, attractions and restaurants. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. Also, great shower!! We enjoyed our stay here. This hotel has the potential to look impressive but comes across a little dated instead. A few tweaks and a lick of paint would make a world of difference to its appearance.

Room was OK, clean, quiet. Internet was not working and the problem was not solved although I told them twice. One of the guy let me the feeling that this is a common problem there. Parking is very small just in front of the hotel, can accommodate max 3 cars. You can find free parking on the surrounding street....but good luck with finding one if you arrive after 17:00. Staying at this hotel was OK on the whole but I will not book again.

Fantastic! Out host could not have been more helpful, the accommodation was immaculate spacious and quiet. The food at breakfast was delicious and filling, our favourite were the home made puddings created by Silvia our host. We had two nights of peace and quiet oh and the Air Conditioning was a big plus for us in the warm nights. The restaurant in the village recommended by Silvia was very good.

Aux Herbes Hautes is located in a beautiful place, just by the bord of Pas-de-Calais, but not far from Lille and some of the busy parts of the Nord department of France. The owner keeps a pristine apartment comprising a small kitchen, sitting room and bathroom on the ground floor, with a king bed and bath on the first floor. Nice decor all around, comfy beds to sleep, amazing shower to relax and nice toiletries (Shower gel and Soap). Air Conditioning helps with sleeping both upstairs and downstairs. Breakfast was hearty and tasty. Again, the owner was pristine in taking care of details. The only negative point was the inexistence of premises secured parking space. We had to park on the road, in front of the B&B, which was not a significant problem. Also, because of its rural location, there are flies everywhere, again not a significant problem.

Excellent, comfortable, spacious, quiet accommodation. Superb breakfast included. Well looked after by host(ess). Extensive outside balcony, and lounging area - if the weather had been OK ! The apartment size is big enough to benefit from addition of a couple of chairs (and small table?) for sitting/watching TV, etc. should the weather not allow sitting outside.

Beautiful place. Stayed only one night but it was perfect. We were in the Fleur de Lin room which is very big and has it's own balcony. We were made to feel very welcome and the breakfast was great too. I really couldn't fault this place and would recommend it to anyone.

Chambre très grande et très propre avec une très bonne literie. Nous avons apprécié le chauffe serviette dans la SDB et la bouilloire pour le thé. Le petit déjeuner était exquis avec salade de fruits frais, viennoiseries, crêpes maison et un assortiment de salés (charcuterie et fromage). Nous étions dans la chambre bleuets et nous reviendrons si l’occasion se présente de revenir dans le coin

Great location opposite Lille Flandres station and only a 5 minute walk from Lille Europe. Everything we needed was within walking distance. The Hotel is very clean and stylishly decorated, providing a feeling of luxury, just what you want when on holiday. Our room (double with sofa/single sofa bed) was a nice size on the 3rd floor overlooking the station, perfect for people watching! The bed was extremely comfortable with lovely fluffy pillows. The shower was great and could fit 2 people, with both a standard and rainfall showerhead option and there was l'occitane shower gel and shampoo provided for a touch of luxury. There are no coffee/tea making facilities in the room, but complimentary refreshments were available throughout the day from the breakfast room which we could eat drink there or take up to our room. We found the room to be quite hot when we first arrived, but the heating thermostat is located inside the room so we were able to adjust the temperature to suit us, which was great. There was a good variety of breakfast items available, including fresh dough for the waffle iron to make your own fresh waffles! All of the staff were extremely friendly, and forgiving of our poor French! We absolutely loved our stay and wouldn't hesistate to return when revisiting Lille.

Loved the hotel. Really comfortable clean room. Good shower, nice towels. Free safe for valuables. Modern hotel and only about 10 minutes walk to the station for the Eurostar. Buffet style breakfast with the lovely option of cooking your own waffles. The breakfast room is quite small & does get busy after 930 so better to go earlier to get a pick of the tables. No tea or coffee in the room but the option to get hot drinks from the machine in the breakfast room on the first floor, with the added bonus of a slice of cake which was available during the day. The only downside was the noisy location. The double glazing is very efficient but like many hotels in the area, this is above a bar & this does mean it can be noisy at night.

The hotel was very cosy and welcoming. Comfortable bed and good amenities. Great location and the room I was in was quiet (courtyard side). Very clean and well maintained. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great as was being able to get coffee, tea and snacks in the day. Being so close to the stations and metro was handy but it was also easy to walk around town and find nice places to eat nearby.

I found the staff at the hotel were very friendly (contrary to some other reviewers). Our room wasn’t quite ready at 3 so we were able to make use of the small but beautifully decorated dining room/lounge and help ourselves to tea, coffee and cakes which were available for guests all day. Room was ready at 3.20 and the receptionist took all our luggage up and left it into the room for us. The QR code key worked fine and breakfast was great, especially the waffle maker. We had a triple room with view out to the station and a small double which was very small but we did know this in advance. If I went again I’d upgrade to a bigger room but we only stayed one night to visit Christmas markets so not a problem. Everything was very clean and obviously recently decorated/renovated. I would definitely recommend and stay again in future. Close to all the main attractions and lots of bars and restaurants within a 5 minute walk. Parked in Lille-Flandres station car park - all undercover and just a 5 minute walk from the hotel.

The bed was very comfortable, and the location was convenient, close to both railway stations. The space was well-decorated and cosy. Our room faced the courtyard, so it was very quiet. Breakfast was tasty, and the staff were friendly and welcoming

Lovely hotel with super friendly, helpful staff. The room itself was clean, modern and very comfortable. Shower was awesome! Breakfast is a simple and delicious buffet with fresh coffee and juice. If staying 3+ nights you get a free drink at the bar if you choose the enviro conscious option of no new sheets, towels etc. Great location, in walking distance to everything and the room was very quiet even though it’s a busy area.

Second time we stayed in this hotel - we love it and it has become our reference in Lille! Very warm welcome by staff who are always available and helpful, excellent and quiet room in this boutique hotel, great care to detail to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable, including a great quality and varied home made breakfast which we love. The location is perfect- within a walking distance from both main train stations and also the city centre. Rooms are squeaky clean and modern and comfortable, warm and beautifully designed, and the bed is superb. Great bathroom with all necessary facilities, ecological approach to cleaning services, tips for city visits and a shopping discount programme with several local shops- we appreciated all of these and look forward to staying again with this hotel!

Instead of writing the usual comments on cleanliness or good service, I prefer to highlight specific aspects that make a hotel stand out. This hotel truly exceeded our expectations in several ways: Professional and Friendly Staff: The team was incredibly welcoming, even with young children. I stayed with my two-year-old daughter, and they were very patient and kind, even accommodating her whims. One staff member went above and beyond by providing two addresses for toy stores so we could find the same polar bear decoration my daughter adored in the hotel’s Christmas setup. Breakfast: While the selection wasn’t extensive, it was thoughtfully curated, offering a nice balance between savory and sweet options. What really impressed me was the homemade yogurt and fruit salad—something rare to find in hotels! Family-Friendly Room: The room was perfect for a family stay, with a spacious bathroom featuring a large shower—ideal for relaxing after a long day of walking. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this hotel. Thank you for the great experience!

We really enjoyed both of our stays at the hotel each for a single night with a trip to Amiens in between. Excellent location for both the Eurostar and Lille Flandres train stations, as well as convenient for all areas of town. All staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming. The rooms were both excellent with great beds, bathroom facilities and complimentary refreshments which were appreciated. Everywhere smelled very pleasant throughout the hotel too with a boutique feel. Breakfast was very pleasant each time with good coffee, squeezed orange juice, fresh bread and pastries, cereals and a small selection of hot and cold eggs and meats. Something for everyone. A most enjoyable stay.

Really enjoyed our stay at Boa Lille - particularly how friendly and helpful the team were, felt really welcomed. The bed was comfortable and room spacious and cozy. Appreciated the good quality toiletries (L'Occitane) and teas (Palas de Thes). Room was quiet, despite the central location (10 mins on foot to main train/metro stations and to the centre of Lille). Was also very pleased to see two local craft beers on draft on the bar, good quality beer. There were a few little niggles with our room (TV stopped working & door handle was loose) but these were swiftly resolved by the team when mentioned. Would definitely look to stay here again when returning to Lille.

This was my second visit to this hotel. It is a great location, close to the Lille Europe train station and Euralille shopping centre. The old town in Lille is a slightly longer walk away but still manageable by foot. The rooms are clean and spacious with full length windows. I had a view of the park. Bed is very comfortable and bathroom is spacious with a large walk in shower. I loved the wardrobe which opened from both the main room and the bathroom. I didn't use the spa but it looked nice. The gym was small but adequate for a short stay. I dined at the main buffet restaurant and with the exceptionally hot weather, I was able to have breakfast and dinner outside on the terrace every day. Staff were very friendly and courteous.

My sister and I stopped here whilst InterRailing. It was her first little holiday after her husband died and also her first InterRail holiday. We wanted a little luxury to smooth the way. Byway Travel booked us in here. GOOD CHOICE. We loved the hotel and Lille. 10 mins easy walk from Lille Europe Railway Station. Similar to the Old Town Very welcoming at check in and they allowed us to keep our rooms a little late as our onward train was an hour after check out. And we were so lucky to be upgraded on the return visit and had lovely views of the gardens behind the hotel. But even the road facing rooms on 9th floor were quiet. Huge bed. Like sleeping on a cloud. Housekeeping standards high, with excellent attention to detail. Excellent spacious shower. Good shower products. Well laid out for travelling. Wall to ceiling windows meant plenty of light poured in. Staff were all super professional and delightfully warm. Breakfasts were really REALLY good. Huge selection. Next time (& there will be a next time!) we will eat dinner in the restaurant which I think is on the first floor overlooking the gardens. The only thing I would wish for is that they had twin rooms. I’d love to stay for longer but it gets a bit expensive when we both have separate rooms. Thank you and a big well done!

Staff were very welcoming, kind, calm and helpful, everything was well explained. The room was very comfortable, very clean and very good matresses. Buffet breakfast was excellent, we particularly enjoyed the choice of fresh fruit.

Where do I start, the hotel is the cleanest (spotless) place we've stayed on our many trips to different places in France. The staff clearly work hard to maintain the hotel. There wasn't even a single water stain on the shower glass. The beds were comfortable, the bedding was nice and soft. The room was also very spacious and smelled lovely. It was very peaceful, we couldn't hear the nearby motorway or the party happening in the restaurant. The reception staff was very friendly and helpful. There's ample free parking onsite. I could go on and on... Well done team Mercure!

Funky little hotel. Fun’s swing chairs at a table in bar. Very weird room set up but bed was comfortable. Hotel does NOT provide conditioner. Breakfast buffet was vast and tasty. Were there with a tour group and the group dinner was horrid. AC works very well.

This place is the real deal. Be it adults or children, this place has everything. The rooms are big and spacious and comfortable. The hotel has a wonderful restaurant and game room for kids. And on Friday night, they had a dance party outside for the adults, with about five DJs and different dance music. might’ve been 400 people there. Everyone was having a good time and was very classy, safe, and fun.

Room was spacious, air conditioning was amazing, really friendly employees at the front desk and bar, tasty beer and drinks, really nice theaming. The front desk was decorated with olympic props and they had a big screen with olympic games playing. Overall, a really pleasant stay. Will consider returning in a heartbeat!

Checked TripAdvisor before we went and liked the reviews. This hotel is very nice and if we were to come to Lille again we would happily stay here. Found the room for myself and my daughter to be very comfortable. Bed and pillows clean and comfortable. Bathroom clean and good shower. Went to rooftop bar on my birthday and good views. Staff were friendly and the breakfast was enjoyable and replenished and all clean. Just a couple of points. The cups in bedroom are cardboard which I knew from trip advisor so I took my own china cups and teabags. The TV never worked at all but I didn't complain as we watched my daughter's tablet at the end of an evening with downloads. The air con didn't seem to be working at all but perhaps it wasn't switched on as not too warm. I found the room very warm when entering so we would open up the windows fully for 10 minutes to let air in. The hotel is very central and we felt safe. Thank you to all the staff for our wonderful stay.

The hotel is situated on a fairly quiet side street the inner rooms are very quiet. I booked 2 superior twin rooms with breakfast included there was a considerable difference in size between the two. No wardrobe just a tiny gap with a token few hangers. Small but very modern ensuite with walk in shower. No storage or shelf for toilet bags etc. not ideal. We had to boil our kettle on the floor as there wasn’t a suitable socket higher up. We was given one paper cup each per day for hot drinks, no china cup or mug. Breakfast is charged at 18 euros each fortunately it was included in our booking. The variety and quantity of items in the breakfast buffet did not justify the cost. Items that ran out an hour before service finished were not replaced we were told they had no more! On a positive note the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooftop bar is a nice place for an aperitif you would need to book a table if you want to sit outside. There are set time slots. The cheapest bottle of wine is 60 euros. Personally l think overall the hotel is more 3 star than 4 star. I would probably recommend it but advise eating breakfast out.

The location is amazing! Can get around Lille super easily from where it is. We were on our honeymoon and they had a free glass of champagne at their rooftop terrace which has an amazing view! The building is very cool and has a lot of character. The breakfast looked great but we were rushed so only could grab coffees to go. Our room was clean and the bathroom was large. We were very comfortable. Each floor has brita machines so there’s free cold water available which isn’t often the case. Amazing view of the city if you get a room with a balcony. Staff were available and super friendly - would stay there again for sure!

We stayed here as a base for us to visit the war graves. This hotel is such a gem we were checked in very quickly and efficiently by friendly receptionist. Our room was on the 3rd floor no view but the room was very big and very clean with a coffee machine. The shower was excellent. There is a rooftop bar which is good and nice views of Lille this hotel is excellent and very friendly staff who work very hard especially at breakfast time and the breakfast is excellent we will definitely be back.

We were very pleased with our choice of this hotel, the location was central and it was an easy walk to the station. Staff were friendly and we thought the breakfast was extremely good. Our room did not have a view, but that was fine, the main thing was the bed was comfortable, the bathroom very nice and we were not disturbed by any noise, facilitated by a double door arrangement onto the sleeping area. The room had a kettle and a coffee maker, plus a bottle which could be refilled from a water dispenser, there wasn't one on every floor so you might not know about this, which brings me to my final comments: Whilst awarding 5* there are some tweaks where things could be improved: An information book in the room about the hotel China or plastic mugs, there were only paper ones so not very convenient if you wanted a coffee in the evening and then a cup of tea in the morning, you were making it in a damp cup! Total replenishment of the hospitality tray every day, you might need to pack some tea bags, only green or herbal tea supplied A mirror over the dressing table Some hooks for coats/rucksacks etc More hangers please!

As with every stay we've had at l'Hermitage, this stay was exceptional. The front desk staff and the breakfast staff are particularly outstanding--attentive, knowledgeable, anticipating needs, genuinely concerned. Even before we arrived, our room had been carefully chosen for us. The front desk recognized me as I walked in--amazing. The breakfast is high quality, a wide variety, delicious. Here too, every staff member is so attentive and thoughtful. The hotel itself is "for the ages" beautiful, unique architecture and beauty.

Rooms were very comfortable and a good size. Staff very welcoming and good customer service. We had a lovely stay. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. We had interconnecting rooms which was perfect for our family. However one of the showers was weak and not up to standard. The pool and spa was very clean. For the size and standard of hotel, perhaps more facilities like more showers and amenities would have been even better

Loved the modernism in the context of an ancient building. Very convenient for the town, parking and metro. Really good dinner on the evening we ate in the restaurant and very attractive and comfortable bar Florian on reception was particularly helpful to us

Lovely comfortable room, nice bathroom with large bath, nice bar and socialising area. The main restaurant was closed so we ate in the Brasserie, good food , excellent breakfast. Nice friendly helpful staff throughout.

I thought this hotel was good. Front desk is very friendly and helpful. If you have marriott status, they are very generous with their benefits. Room was clean, very "american". full temperature control. large fluffy towels, including wash cloths. Full set of toiletries. Good location, especially if arriving by train - 10-15 minute walk, depending on the station. Easy walk to the shopping area. but very quiet at night. Great sound proofing. I slept very well. really good pillows. There are shutters for the windows - not drapes - so you can make it VERY dark if you want to. Didn't use the spa. I would stay here again. If you get one of the suite style rooms, they are very well designed. The sitting area is between the bedroom and bathroom -so one person can get up, shut the bedroom door, shower, get dressed, and even leave the room without disturbing the other person. BRILLIANT.

Good breakfast, comfy beds, fresh linen and towels. Very clean. We could see rabbits outside in the garden, which was a nice touch, and children loved that :) Staff was helpful and accommodating. Free and convenient parking available. Good option if you want to be reasonably close to Lille, not pay too much, be able to easily park, and have breakfast too.

The rooms were clean and spacious with excellent facilities. We loved the bean bags and the TVs on trolleys - the kids were able to relax, play card games and enjoy cartoons in comfort. We even had one enjoy a bubble bath while watching a film as we could position the TV in just the right place! The breakfast was delicious with plenty of variety and we felt very satisfied. The late check-out time of 12 noon meant we could take our time in the morning and did not feel rushed. The staff were very helpful and friendly during our stay.

Comfortable beds, fresh towels, bathroom with both shower and tub available. Good quality toiletries. Good outdoors parking. Breakfast options are good. We stayed at this hotel a few times already when visiting Lille. Staff are nice and helpful. Our kids received crayons and sweets and a few other small toys when checking in. There are some rabbits on the property which you can either see from your room or from the breakfast area, if you’re in luck, this was a nice touch :)

Friendly staff, good location (5 minutes from stadium/airport) Free airport transfer - Breakfast included. Had a big screen up for the rugby in the bar area aswell. Big clean rooms - Comfy Bed Would recommend and stay again.

Nice breakfast, clean room, friendly staff, spacious room
