Clean, lovely renovations and the time and care put into the property showed. Dick was great; really helpful and made a great breakfast every morning. Room was spacious and shower was great. Jacuzzi tub was lovely and a short, easy walk to town for dinner. Perfect! Thank you.

This was a great place to stay when walking in the Elan Valley. We didn't plan to use the jacuzzi bath but it was absolutely perfect after a long hike and we really enjoyed it. We were very comfortable, slept well, and enjoyed the delicious full Welsh breakfast.

Quiet and rural, just what we needed! The hut was spotless, well equipped, warm and cosy! Hottub was lovely and warm too!

We liked the quiet seperate location of The Fox Lodge...the setting is perfect...the hot tub was amazing. Everything was in perfect order...hot water, comfy bed, sparkling en suite, so so cosy...we will definitely definitely be back

Cosy, relaxing and quiet location. Host Daniel was amazing very attentive ensuring we had everything we needed. On arrival we had a variety of sweet treats and were also treated to 2 bottles of cider. Great communication from host from booking to check out. We are looking forward to booking our next stay.

Absolutely beautiful, relaxing and cosy cottage tucked away with plenty of privacy. Clean and tidy. Lovely views from the back bedroom. Hot tub wad great. Sauna was operated by inserting pound coin. The hosts were very helpful. We would not hesitate to book again.

- Lodges are spacious, beautifully decorated & clean - Kitchens were well equipped with extra touches such as coffee/hot choc machines - Saunas & hot tubs were a great bonus - We rented all 3 lodges, which made it really special as we had a large secure garden exclusively to ourselves. There was ample room for kids/pets to run around freely & a game of rounders - It's located on a picturesque spot, with a stream, lots of greenery & nature all round - Oak lodge is the biggest of the the lodges (though this is the one without the sauna). It also has the best bedroom with an ensuite & the most amazing view from the window

The property was gorgeous! There was so much attention to detail and all the little things made our experience all the better. The property was very modern, clean and comfortable. This has by far been the best place I have stayed so far and would highly recommend for a couples or family stay. The views were beautiful and the hot tub/ sauna topped it. Thankyou very much! We enjoyed a really relaxing break in the Oak Lodge at Elm Escapes. The place was spotless and the facilities were great. The hot tub was superb and the views from the master bedroom were amazing. Communication from Beth was great and the check-in process really easy. We would consider staying again and would definitely recommend Elm Escapes to friends and family.

Absolutely perfect long weekend! Friendly hosts, super clean, very spacious, comfortable and the most amazing breakfast! Fresh milk waiting in the fridge on arrival, tea, coffee, biscuits and chocolates (attention to detail! Central, but secluded down a little farm track. Felt like we were in the middle of nowhere. Richard even offered to sweep the farm track. Just totally attentive hosts!

We two as friends were having a short break away. Jane met us on arrival at the B&B which was easy to find and showed us the room, which was spotless, everything we would need was there. The views out of the windows were breathtaking, so very quiet and extremely peaceful. Breakfast was superb in every aspect, so much choice too, it was served personally by Jane in our room at the specified time you decide, your choice. The bed was super comfy, central heating which you were able to control. Water for the shower was just great. Met Richard the following day who explained and provided us with a very detailed map of places of interest which we duly followed and had a couple of sightseeing tours thanks to Richard. They were both extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble. If only everyone who ran a B&B were like Richard & Jane. I would highly recommend their establishment without hesitation.

Pwllgwilym is a hidden gem in a lovely setting! Richard and Jane are fantastic hosts! Such a lovely, kind and friendly couple! Extremely helpful and knowledgeable! We were made to feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble! The accommodation is lovely, spotless and very comfortable. We arrived on a cold evening to a lovely warm and cosy room which was very spacious with such lovely views! The fresh milk in the fridge and sweets, such a lovely touch! The breakfast was served in our room and was super! Enjoyed Richard's homemade bread :)) Can't wait to return!!

It was an amazing experience. The area looks like a movie set for a countryside romantic film. The room was spotless clean, the breakfast was delicious and plentiful. It’s also very quiet at night and the bed is comfortable and cozy.

Thankyou to Sian and Gwil for yet another comfotable stay in The Bear. This is the third time we have stayed ,and each time, Sian especially cannot do enough to make you feel comfortable. She is absolutely lovely.It is exceptionally clean, and rooms have everything you need including wifi and plenty of plug sockets in accessible places. Bed was comfortable, loved the sky light in the room and breakfast ( i think cooked by Gwil) was delicious. Its an excellent location for the Elan valley, Sian locks our cycles in her shed which is very useful, and there are plenty of small independent shops and places to eat ( would recommend The Crown). Well done and thank you both, we will be back for a fourth stay at some point hopefully!

Sian and Gwill were so friendly and welcoming. They had a secure bike store for our cycles and couldn't have been more helpful. Our room was excellent, very spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Excellent cooked breakfast as well. Would definitely recommend the Bear.

Excellent all round. I think the owners are very friendly and are also clearly passionate about meeting their guests needs. Good selection of in-room teas/coffees and biscuits! My favourite part of the stay was probably the breakfast. I can honestly say that was probably the best breakfast I’ve ever had anywhere in my life! It’s essentially one where it can be completely customised according to your personal preference as you’re provided with a breakfast menu the day before which has a lot of different options that you can pick and choose from according to your tastes. I also thought the location was very nice, and there were some amazing views of the surrounding countryside to be taken in both in the room I stayed in and also the dining room. I’d say any room positioned at the rear of the property would provide similar views. Overall very nice stay, I’d be tempted to come back again just for another breakfast :)

What a little gem, the hosts Lynda and Larnie looked after us from the first time we stepped in through the door until we said goodbye. In these unprecedented times your safety was their prime concern. The rooms were very comfortable and clean, the breakfast was amazing with a selection of fresh fruit, cereal and fresh juices followed by an excellent cooked breakfast. Lynda and Larnie were so attentive making us feel so welcome. We have no hesitation in recommending this guest house, we are already planning for next year.

A beautiful, quiet guesthouse, very nicely furnished and very clean and comfortable. Received a very warm welcome and a breakfast menu for the following morning, on arrival. Made to feel at home and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was 5* and was enjoyed in a quiet and comfortable dining room with mountain views, an excellent start to the day. This is a little gem. Spotlessly clean, comfortable bed, very well equipped ( even iron and ironing board in the room). Breakfast was amazing. This is a wonderful guest house. Larnie and Lynda were incredibly welcoming, the bed was supremely comfortable, breakfast was delicious and of a very high quality, cleanliness was exceptional and the extra little touches made for a very comfortable and relaxing stay. Highly recommended.

Owners and staff were very welcoming and friendly, room was clean and comfortable with everything you needed, the view from the room was great , ate in the bar and the food was excellent , Breakfast had plenty of selection and good quality ingredients, in a great location very quiet and relaxing and a great comfortable outdoor seating area with a view and my 2 dogs were made very welcome

Lovley quite location, we stayed on a Friday night and you have som talking from the bar that can he feom rooms but by no means was it noisy! I was greeted by Janet and what a Lovley friendly person she was. Thw lovle lady in the kitchen was so accommodating with us going ro be back late but would have dinner ready for us, I would of been happy with a sandwich left behind the bar. Beautiful stake dinner! Breakfast was beautiful cooked and a wide selection of cereal, cereal bars and yogurts. All in all it was fantastic value for money and very welcoming even our well behaved collie stayed

I really fell on my feet when I booked this hotel. A beautiful old building with a lovely outside area to sit and relax and take in the magnificent views. The hosts are super friendly and helpful. The drinks at the bar were quite cheap which is a surprise these days. The whole hotel is clean throughout and my room was very big and a super comfy bed. After a relaxing night's sleep I had a top notch cooked breakfast and carried on my way by bicycle. I really enjoyed my stay here.

We booked the Hotel as a stop off point in our travels. It was in a quiet location. The host provided a warm and friendly welcome. Our room exceeded our expectations and was very clean with a comfortable bed together with en-suite shower room. After a very comfortable sleep, we had breakfast which was both delicious and filling. We would certainly place this location on our revisit list

Plenty of easy parking space, Owners were friendly, bes was comfy, view was great, shower is easy to use powerful and warm.both dinner and breakfast were really good, with a choice of an earlier breakfast than alot of places which is great if you got to get up for working! Lots of choice of drinks in the room, and nice touches like razer and shaving cream and sewing kit.

Convenient room on ground floor with garden patio door access for the dog & a place to relax in the sun. Very comfortable twin beds, clean and tidy with kettle, tea/coffee and biscuits. Good storage. Good sized shower room. Friendly breakfast room and excellent cooked breakfast including: fruit juice, cereal, yoghurt and choice of fresh fruit, tea/coffee.

Excellent Guest house, just one street from the town center with its bars, shops and restaurants. Paul the host was very welcoming the whole duration of my stay, he regularly asked if I needed anything. The room was very clean and comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities, they had even filled the kettle with water when I arrived. The Welsh full breakfast was wonderful, freshly cooked and using local produce. (it was that good I purchased bacon and sausages from the butcher to take back home with me) The location is great for a wander in the evening around town, have a beer and some excellent food at the local bars. If you are there on livestock market day, its worth a visit to see the local farmers at work. Don't forget to dip your shoes before you enter the market hall....

We arrived a little later than planned so had to phone the number displayed outside the property. Paul was welcoming and friendly, giving us instructions for entry. He also recommended a couple of dog-friendly pubs for our evening meal. We chose the Lamb & Flag - very popular with massive portions! Our room was comfortable and overlooking the street, but not too noisy. Radiators could be adjusted, so we had a cosy sleep. Breakfast was delicious. Full cooked, cereals, toast, yogurt, juices. The atmosphere was lovely and we all chatted from table to table. We walked to Elan Valley and back, quite a trek but absolutely beautiful. That evening we dined in the 16th century Triangle Inn. Amazing food, lovely staff. Our stay in Rhayader at The Horseshoe was wonderful!

Cosy, clean and comfortable, lovely quaint room. We had the shared bathroom which over 2 nights we never had to share. With an early start each day we appreciated the tasty bacon butties made for our departure!! Had an amazing steak dinner at the friendly Eagle Inn just up the road. A really enjoyable stay which our little dog also enjoyed.. at no extra charge! Thankyou 😊

Blown away by the friendly owner. Room was spacious and clean. Strong spotless shower, hot water. Quiet too. Breakfast was 10/10 too. Our motorcycles were housed in a covered wooden parking lot 5 metres from the Hotel. 5 mins walk to pubs and restaurants.

We had a fabulous stay at Penralley House, from our warm welcome on arrival to our farewell. everything was perfect. Our room was very spacious and comfortable with a view over the beautiful garden. The king bed was extra comfy and we had a great sleep every night. Very spacious toilet with good shower and extra toiletries on offer. The breakfast was simply fabulous with a nice selection of fresh fruit, yogurt and home made bircher. the hot food was cooked to order using local produce, delicious. This is a great location to explore the Elan Valley and surrounding area and we would highly recommend a stay at Penralley

Steve is a natural and exceptional host. He is extremely knowledgeable of the area, and always at hand if you need anything. Extremely welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was fantastic with a brilliant range of choices. The location is absolutely perfect is the beautiful village. Perfect for all the nearby attractions, the main one for us was Elan Valley. A variety of pubs and restaurants very close by. I wish I had been able to stay longer and we are already planning on returning next summer. Onsite parking was a bonus, although plenty of on street parking available. Couldn't have asked for more. The room was absolutely spotless. This place is a credit to Steve! Thank you again, Jack and Siobhan.

Host Steven was very friendly and helpful, made sure we had all we needed, and were comfortable in our room he also gave good local advice on sight seeing and where to go for evening meals. Room had its own entrance, was clean and well equipped and had a small outdoor seating area overlooking garden, . Access to a lovely peaceful garden with a great variety of plants, trees and shrubs. Choice of breakfast options, cooked breakfast was excellent, good ingredients and cooked to order. Very short walk to small town, pubs and restaurant's. Great location for The Elan Valley National Park.

Steve was the perfect host, friendly and informative, and justly proud of his beautiful and welcoming home. The bedrooms are classically furnished to suit era of the house, the bed was comfy and quality bedding and towels. The gardens are stunning, and peaceful. The breakfast choice was exceptional. Everything was superb.

I didn’t book Dinner, just B&B. Breakfast was very good. I used the Spa and had a Swedish Massage which was very relaxing, especially lying on a heated bed. The salad I had was very good upstairs in the small coffee area. Outside Jacuzzi fun in February! Nice and hot.

Charming hotel, in beautiful surroundings. Felt like we were stepping back in time as everything was elegant and refined. Service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. The jacuzzi on the balcony overlooking lake is something special and the woodland walk around the grounds by the river is magical.

The team were amazingly welcoming and helpful - the owner’s son helped find a place to park in my large vehicle on the flat as there were issues with the hand brake. The Irfon suite is very comfortable and homely and I slept so well as it was very quiet. The hot water takes a little time to come through in rain shower but worth waiting for and is a lovely shower. The bathroom products have beautiful fragrances and I was able to purchase to take home from the Spa. My meal was delicious in comfortable surroundings - even though eating on my own I did not feel awkward as in other hotel restaurants. I particularly liked the dining room chairs as they were comfortable and supportive. I’d recommend the Spa as I had had a lovely swim and massage. As within the hotel, the team at the Spa are welcoming, kind and efficient. The hotel makes you feel home from home and offers a really relaxed feel. Having stayed in hotels worldwide I would say that this is one of the very best.

We had a superior room which was nice & spacious. Receptionist was friendly & happy to help. Lots of parking & use of a spa was great even if it’s a little dated & jacuzzi wasn’t working. Catered for gluten free at breakfast & lovely cocktails from the bar.

Big hotel, good sized room and bathroom, lovely and clean, lovely clean pool and changing rooms, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Breakfast buffet delicious.

What a little gem this is. The staff were so friendly, spa facilities whilst on the smaller side had everything you need (pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna). Breakfast was lovely too, lots of choice both hot and cold so it was perfect.

The spa was amazing. We loved the Jacuzzi. Reception and restaurant staff were professional and polite.

The room was beautifully presented and stylish on arrival. However, once I started using the facilities, issues became apparent. The jacuzzi bath had a broken button and a loose tap, the toilet wasn’t properly cleaned, and the tea station cups were stained. There was also a strong sewer-like smell that worsened overnight. The TV didn’t work, the mattress and pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable, and the room was overly hot with no air conditioning or windows to open. The shower was confusing to use due to the power switch located outside the bathroom. Noise was a problem too – I could hear guests in neighboring rooms, as well as music from a nearby pub and road traffic. Thankfully, things quieted down after 10 p.m. The staff were friendly once we found the check-in point, but there was a mix-up over the room allocation. I’d paid extra for a larger space, but staff handed us the keys, saying it didn’t matter which key we chose. I had to clarify this in front of my friend, which was awkward as I’d intended to be discreet. The on-site café and restaurant were the highlights – great food and a lovely atmosphere. Overall, while parts of the stay were pleasant, the comfort and cleanliness issues mean I wouldn’t return.

Nice rooms right in the centre of town. The shower was very powerful and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was really nice. You have to collect your keys from a pub across the road, but it's no hassle. Parking is available in a street behind the hotel a 2 minute walk away. The only downside is that the walls are very thin between the rooms! and there is a lot of traffic/lorry noise from the street in front of the hotel. If you are looking for a quiet retreat, this is probably not the hotel for you. But it is very handy for local shops (Co-Op just next door), amazing Indian restaurant down North Street, Pubs and a fish and chip shop. Overall, very nice.

Just perfect. Everything was excellent. Friendly and very helpful staff. Nothing was a problem. Room was a good size with ample tea and coffee. Centred in the middle of Rhayader the hotel meant getting around very easy. I travelled with a bicycle and there was a great locked up shed to placed it overnight. I had an evening meal at the hotels bistro (Fridays and weekends) which was super. Breakfast was equally super.

I have been coming to Rhayader for over 40 years, and this is my second stay at Ty Morgans - So I am well aware of the clock & traffic - neither bother me (white noise is the answer). The room was comfortable and clean, exactly what you would expect for the buildings age and price. It was an excellent base for me and my little boy. The staff were exceptional, friendly and polite, and extremely hard working. Breakfast was gorgeous on all 3 mornings, and we enjoyed a great meal at the Crown, with excellent service and lovely home cooked food. I will definitely be staying again.

The lodge is set in a really lovely location, and just a 15/20min walk into the town center where you can find many pubs and a few shops. The staff were truly amazing and really couldn't do enough to help you. Very friendly and helpful. Owen and Steve are nice to talk too. I didn't meet any of the others but I am sure they are great too! The room was clean and tidy and the beds were really comfortable too. Breakfast was really nice and had cereals, yogurts and fruit juices, very kind of them to make bacon sandwich for my friend who was hungover every morning and couldn't make it to breakfast :)

Breakfast was great. Choice of cereals and yoghurts and a full cooked breakfast with whatever you want for £10. Hotel is located within the showground about a 30 minute walk from the town centre if you want to go, though there is a bar and restaurant on site so you don't need to go anywhere if you don't want to... Builth Wells is central in Wales so this made a great base for days out round Wales on our motorbikes (Steve the proprietor was very helpful with suggestions for routes).

I've booked a room as a last minute emergency after a motorcycle trip went a bit pear shaped. One minute I was wet, hungry and looking for shelter, in the next minute I had a comfy room, and by the time I took my luggage inside, hung my kit to dry and changed into some dry clothes, a hearty dinner and a cold pint was waiting for me on the table. The proprietors are probably the friendliest people in Wales and they looked after me like royalty. The location is very scenic and quiet. The breakfast next morning was delicious and so fulfilling that I'll probably still be digesting it this time next week. Also, there's secure parking for motorcycles, which is a massive plus.

Neuadd Henllan was an excellent stay as I was needing a place in Builth Wells. A great location with a range of food outlets nearby. Friendly and helpful staff. The room was clean and comfortable. An excellent breakfast. Would fully recommend this accommodation.

Great place to stay as quiet and convenient to place visiting the next day. Comfy bed and great facilities. Didnt have breakfast as needed to pay....unless speak to hotel direct. Car parking convenient. Easy to find.
