It took our breath away, from when we walked in through the gate to unlocking the door to the cabin. The property had a secure garden for the dog, the view was stunning, the hot tub amazing, the facilities above and beyond (ice bucket and ice machine, never would have thought of that). The bed was so comfortable, hotels should take a leaf out of your attention to detail. The dishwasher was a lovely touch, tv and fire for days stuck indoors. The shower room was the largest we have seen in a cabin and the water pressure and temperature just perfect. The owners have obviously put a lot of thought into proving accommodation that leaves no room for being disappointed. Owners have also given me an idea for my own shower room, loved the double loo roll holder and shelving, so googled it snd have it in my basket for later. Great place to stay.

We loved the view from the deck in front of the pod, it looked directly at Suilven and really was spectacular. The pod was very nicely furnished, everything provided and finished to a very high spec. We were very comfortable and loved the amount of space inside. The bathroom was a very good size and the kitchen area was perfect, even had some nice ground coffee along with a cafetiere. We used the hot tub and that was a real treat, looking at the amazing view.

A clean, quiet, private and comfortable pod in a beautiful area with a great view of the Graham mountain, Suilven, and the added luxury of a hot tub. We kept in touch with the owner via the Booking.com app's messaging, but never saw him, which was fine. We really appreciated the laundry facilities as well. All in all, a wonderful stay and we look forward to perhaps returning one day. Wifi was excellent.

I love these pods, I've been twice now to two separate ones. They are exceptionally clean, modern and have absolutely everything you'd need. The hot tub is clean, very warm and the views are fab. I also love that it's dog friendly and enclosed so our dogs can walk around freely whilst we are in the tub.

Really couldn’t believe how awesome this cabin was, had everything I could have possibly wished for and more. It was a warm, clean, comfortable haven, plenty of privacy, with amazing views. The owner was really friendly and had made sure the heating was on before we arrived so it was nice and warm.

Beautiful place with a great view. Clean and comfortable. The owner was always interested in helping. Breakfast provided has lots of products, good.quality, but nothing cooked. Our room had jacuzzi but no shower. The owner was kind and let us use another shower.

We stayed two nights at Caisteal Liath House when visiting Lochinver recently. For us, it was perfect. Fantastic location (stunning view of the bay and mountains, particularly Suilven which is very prominent) coupled with exceptional accommodation. The property is very well presented, equipped and spotlessly clean. Fresh decor and beautifully tiled and carpeted rooms with modern facilities throughout...jacuzzi bath, separate shower room, Wi-Fi, TV etc, a fully fitted and equipped kitchen/dining area with every conceivable appliance and utensil provided for. The beds were firm, crisp sheets and very comfortable. A very generous breakfast is provided for...a wide choice of cereals, muesli, milk, bread, hams, cheeses, fresh berries, yoghurt, eggs...and the list goes on! Plus a beverage tray with tea's/coffee/ biscuits etc. Truly excellent. Our host, John, was very gracious and helpful and always had time for you. Staying at Caisteal Liath House made our visit to Lochinver a real pleasure and wouldn't hesitate in recommending to all.

A really LOVELY BnB in all respects – photos & description are an accurate depiction. Modern bedroom & bathroom, spotlessly clean, situated on 1st floor + on-site car-parking. Very nicely furnished & pleasing décor, well-lit, 2 x lounge chairs + small dining-table & 2 chairs. Very comfortable bed & very good wifi + Welcome’ folder. Continental breakfast is a self-serve arrangement that one takes back & enjoys in one’s room. ABUNDANT selection - choice of cereals, instant porridges, breads, mini jams etc., yoghurts, milks, fresh fruit, small variety of cheeses, some salmon & cold meat. The foodstuff is invitingly presented / provided on a side-board (along with cutlery & crockery) in a semi-open area on the 1st floor with / in a communal fridge. A truly exceptional & rare offering & greatly appreciated. Communication with host, John, was always prompt, helpful & friendly. Location affords a beautiful view overlooking Lochinver township & harbour. John provided detailed directions on accessing the property, which in addition to the BnB, accommodation, also has 3 self-contained Chalets. Instructions can appear somewhat confusing but once undertaken, fall into place. This wonderfully comfortable BnB certainly enhanced our 5-night stay in this magnificent area where drives, bike-riding, walking & climbing pursuits are unbounded. We would certainly endeavour to secure this accommodation again & are hoping to return sometime in the future.

We had a lovely 2 night stay, bedroom was cosy, room was spotless (except toaster - full of old crumbs) and breakfast was fantastic. I wasnt sure initially when I booked re eating breakfast in the room but it was perfect. Lots of variety for breakfast although I just wanted some plain white bread to toast of which there wasnt any- Im on holiday, dont judge me! Shower was amazing. Only thing missing for me was a shelf or cabinet in the toilet, to balance my cosmetics and toiletries on, I had to put these on the floor or in the sink as the skylight was perfect for natural make up lighting. My only negative would be the sound of the plumbing/pipework when other occupants showered, luckily we were up early but would not have been able to sleep through it - and I was wearing earplugs....We will return, and John was a friendly host.

Wonderful view, clean and spacious. We had dinner at Peet's restaurant just across the harbour. Breakfast was a generous spread of cereals, fruits, jam, yoghurt, toast and eggs, completely self-help which we loved. There is a small fridge and kettle in the room with coffee, decaf, tea, sugar, biscuits and milk. Parking for our car on the premises. I highly recommend this lovely bed and breakfast.

It was beautiful. The property was beautifully clean, well presented, and had the most amazing jacuzzi, with views over the town and harbour. We loved it!

It was beautiful, no expense soared in creating a fabulous cabin. We loitered in the jacuzzi for hours and absolutely loved the place!

Really liked that the place is in a quiet area with parking right at the front gate. Bed is really comfy and there's enough space in the kitchen to whip up a quick breakfast if needed. Didn't get a chance to try out the jacuzzi as the weather was bad, though still appreciated the views of the loch through the window.

The hot tub was fantastic with an amazing view. The Hideaway seemed so secluded and peaceful even though it is fairly near other houses. It was cosy and well equipped. Perfect for a couples getaway.

The cottage was in a lovely location, very quiet and private. It was finished to a high standard and had everything you could need for your stay. It was very clean, cosy and comfortable with lots of thoughtful touches such as books, music and board games for guests to use. The owner greeted us on arrival and was very pleasant, friendly and helpful, telling us about the area and suggesting local places we might like to visit. We very much enjoyed out stay and will definitely return.

Perfect accommodation in a peaceful setting . The host Paul was very friendly and informative about the local area, and very approachable . The house was spotless when we arrived, very warm and comfortable , and had everything we needed. Great walks from the front door , and amazing scenery all around. Would definitely recommend this property , and i wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if returning to the area

Self catering cottage in a beautiful quiet location. The accommodation provided all our needs for a two night stay. Paul is an exceptional host and provided so much local knowledge which we appreciated. The property was warm and exceptionally clean and comfortable. A tea tray containing coffee, tea and biscuits together with fresh milk in the fridge. This property is on the NC 500 on the Drumbeg loop, and worthwhile visiting Excellent place to chill out and relax any time of the year.

The property was so lovely and so cosy and warm! It was decorated really nicely and I imagine this would be so lovely in winter (albeit we did get torrential rain in June haha so we can vouch for the cosy feel). The host Paul was so friendly and welcoming and was really easy to keep in touch with on our arrival date. He came to see us when we'd checked in which was really nice and he was so helpful.

The Smithy Cottage had everything we needed for our overnight stay along the NC500. Our host, Paul, was super friendly and informative about the local area. Kitchen was well equipped for cooking our own meal. Tea/coffee/milk and sweet biscuits were much appreciated after a long day on the road. The beds were comfy and the location is very peaceful. Laundry facilities onsite in a separate building. Wifi worked well for mapping and planning our onward journey. Would definitely stay again.

In a quiet area near Loch Inver. A lovely welcome from the hosts Caren and Dave that made us feel like family. Lovely views over the Loch from our room at the back of the house including deer visiting next door’s garden almost every day. Everywhere was spacious and very clean and nicely decorated. Our room was immaculate, comfortable and well equipped. The breakfasts were delicious and Caren’s homemade yoghurt was amazing. Dave was very helpful in advising the best places and directions to visit and he was very knowledgable. A real gem! We stayed for 9 days and loved it there and will hopefully return one day. Ample parking in the drive

I seem to be finding some fabulous B&Bs in and around Lochinver and this is one of them. Caren and Dave couldn't have been more welcoming as hosts. The room was fab, breakfast was fab with lots of coffee refills which is a big plus for me. One of the things that was really helpful was all the useful information on restaurants and their opening times which was sent to me well in advance. I really enjoyed the bountiful breakfast when Dave would also give advice to the guests on local attractions, walks, best routes up mountains, and various anecdotes, which I really appreciated and made the stay even more enjoyable. All in all a lovely place.

We really loved our stay here.We were made so welcome ! The room with the treats in the tin were lovely!! Views are exceptional.Thank you for providing us with ice for gin and tonics this was above and beyond what we expected.We also had lots of tips for places to visit which were really helpful.Breakfast was fantastic.Book your evening meal in local restaurants they get full and are exceptional .Lots to do here lovely beaches scenery,walks and historic sights.

A wonderful bed and breakfast, with very friendly and helpful hosts, a great room and excellent breakfast. We have really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay here again, if ever in the area. We appreciated the upfront message telling us that most restaurants have limited availability in February, so we could make our own dinner arrangements ahead of our stay. The area of Lochinvar is beautiful and certainly worth a visit.

Everything, the LARGE room at front of house was lovely having a nice comfortable bed and a settee to watch TV late into evening. The bathroom was very clean and well equipped. The breakfast was cooled to order and was delicious. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful offering suggestions on places to see and things to do. We would certainly stop here again in the future.

Fabulous cozy annex cottage with great attention to detail in furnishings & facilities provided. Friendly hosts Mark & Mary, who were on hand to show around initially & then next door if needed. Loved Mary’s homemade shortbread treat which we had with a cup of tea on arrival. The property has beautiful views over the North Minch from the living room & upstairs bedroom, with binoculars available to catch a glimpse of anything in the waters. Both bedrooms have their own shower & toilet facilities which was great as we were a family of 3. Each bedroom has its own tv for lounging & early morning tv. The kitchen area is well stocked with cooker, micro wave, coffee machine etc & has table & chairs so dining in is possible. We used this especially at breakfast time & one lunchtime when we reheated some beautiful pies from the Lochinver Larder which I can definitely recommend. The lounge/livingroom area is a large space with two big comfy sofas, a wooden coffee table & Sky TV. Board games also available should you wish them. Lochinver is a serene, quiet village in the highlands, with friendly inhabitants & beautiful scenery. Eating out I would suggest the new amazing Delilah’s on the Main St in Lochinver a short walk from the property. Really excellent place & I will be sure to return again if I find myself in this area in the future.

Spacious, clean and cosy house with stunning views and everything you could need. There were just two of us but there would be plenty of room for 5 guests and great to have 2 bathrooms (with lovely hot showers). It's nice to have the amenities of Lochinver available but to also be so close to such amazing landscapes. We were visiting to do some hill walking which it was a great base for. Mary and Mark were wonderful hosts, very welcoming and helpful and we especially enjoyed the treat of a few fresh eggs from their hens one morning. Although it says no parking on site the free car park is directly opposite, close enough to unload from without any bother. Would highly recommend the pies from Lochinver Larder!

28 Hillside is an outstanding accommodation, and we highly recommend it. The proprietors, Mark & Mary, are friendly, kind, and hardworking, ensuring that every guest has a memorable experience. The apartment is well-equipped and spotless, with ample space and a lovely garden that adds to its charm. Located in the quaint village of Lochinver, it serves as the perfect base for exploring the beauty of northern Scotland.

Extremely friendly and helpful hosts. Irene recommended we book a local restaurant in advance of our stay and went the extra mile to book it for us. The restaurant was very good. Excellent breakfast. Clean and comfortable room with a modern en-suite bathroom. Off street parking. I cannot find fault with this accommodation.

Hosts Irene and David were wonderful - welcoming, generous and friendly. They recommended a dinner reservation at a fantastic restaurant just a short walk away and cooked us an amazing breakfast. Everything was catered for, the bed was so comfortable and we loved our stay.

Loved being able to walk to town for dinner. Our hosts, David and Irene, make your stay at Tigh na Sith so warm, so welcoming, and all around special. We had the larger room upstairs, and it was the largest room we had on our tour - simple, super clean, uncluttered, and bright. The sitting area (living room) downstairs was also nice snd we shared several fun and interesting conversations with other guests. There are only 3 rooms, so the setting has a nice intimacy. We also loved Lochinver (we’re boaters) and walked the docks and the boatyard. David and Irene had very helpful touring suggestions for anything that might interest you. We would highly recommend Tigh na Sith. Thank you David and Irene. We hope to see you again.

Drumbeg Hotel was an excellent stay on our NC500 trip. The road to it as described by others was very challenging but well worth the views. Hotel has parking and the owners were friendly and helpful. Dinner was amazing, homecooked. Bar well stocked. We stayed in two of the double rooms, Stag and Thistle and they were amazing! Beautifully decorated, beds very comfortable and views outstanding. We even got given a flask with fresh milk for tea. Breakfast offered a good menu and was of a really high standard. A boutique hotel! Would thoroughly recommend.

This was the perfect overnight stopping point for us. We needed somewhere along the Drumbeg road where we could stay the night compfrtably, which served a nice dinner and breakfast. All of this was easily accomplished at the Drumbeg Hotel. We arrived shortly after 4pm. We pre-ordered our dinner from the lovely menu, then had a cup of tea. Before dinner a drink in the bar then through for some great dinner dishes and pudding. Excelent full breakfast in the morning then on with our journey. Simple, comfortable, clean and friendly.

Fab overnight stay. Plenty of space to park. Check in was easy Beds comfy and all you need for a simple rest and good night sleep Lovely bar and Richard was great company with his funny stories and good nature Food was excellent, home cooked lamb shank and beef pie for mains and lovey haggis and a goats cheese starters. Breakfast was the best we had so far in Scotland! Huge portion, good choice and very tasty! Recommend this place to stay, your not gonna get the Ritz but you are going to get a very clean pleasant comfortable room in a welcoming hotel, amazing views, with cracking food and a good night sleep Would recommend We had a blast! Thanks to Fiona also for her fab tasty food!

We were there for a 2 night stay at the end of August. The hotel is very well taken care of & it is in a quiet lovely location. It’s beautiful inside too. Rooms are cozy, clean , quiet, & decorated very nicely. The food & service in dining room is amazing! The free breakfast is plentiful, delicious, & fresh. It is a nice touch.

We booked the Drumbeg for one night as we needed a dog friendly place to stay. Check in was at four o'clock and we arrived on time. We were greeted by Fiona who was pleasant and polite and showed us to our room. We had a twin room with a view of the courtyard with pots of plants. The room was small and themed to a highland scene and was perfectly acceptable. There was a bathroom with a shower cubicle, toilet and sink. There was a television, a small hospitality tray and fresh milk was available on request. The lounge and dining room were lovely and looked as though they had been recently decorated. The bar was well stocked although the pumps were broken at the time. We met Richard who was very amenable and knowledgeable about his stock. We ate dinner and breakfast at the hotel and both were very acceptable, the breakfast especially being very nice. We enjoyed our stay at the Drumbeg and the only downside were the beds were very soft so we did not sleep that well as we are used to much firmer beds. Thank you Fiona and Richard

Amazing location if on the NC500. Amazing views from the bar and restaurant. Really friendly staff, very helpful and attentive. The food is absolutely amazing! We had mussels and salmon for our dinner and even Irn Bru ice cream for pudding. Delicious! We even saw a seal swim past whilst we were dining. Very comfortable room - perfect for a night.

The room upgrade on booking was wonderful and we loved the room itself - almost everything you need for a comfortable stay (except for conditioner in the bathroom) Lots of lovely details and sweet additions for our dog. The bed was comfy, the mountain books were great and there is no beating this location. Also, the breakfast was excellent - full Scottish! We came for our 10 year anniversary having been to the restaurant many years before and dinner in the restaurant didn't disappoint! It was the full package. We had our dog with us which means we were stuck out of the way on our own in the bar area while everyone else was in the main restaurant, which seemed strange in this day and age and despite it being 'dog friendly' BUT we weren't forgotten by the staff as is sometimes the case if you're plonked out of site. And the view itself from the bar to the Loch was worth being there for.

Restaurant & bar has a stunning loch view and very nice ambiance. Staff all welcoming polite and professional. Food delicious for both dinner & breakfast. Amber ale available in draught. Loved the room with balcony and loch view and little details like shoe storage and bathroom trinket tray.

What a beautiful little Inn along the NC500 with a great history! We stayed in the Deluxe King room with a balcony that had a lovely view. The bed was comfortable, and the shower glorious, with plenty of hot water and great pressure. Dinner was AMAZING with delicious local seafood. The breakfast that came with our stay was equally wonderful. We appreciated the honor bar was filled with non-alcoholic items as well.

The staff was very attentive and knowledgeable. Food was fantastic - both dinner and breakfast and the water and mountain views from the dining room were beautiful. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean and quiet. It was a lovely experience from arrival to departure.

This hostel is a real gem, just a few minutes’ walk from a stunning beach. The facilities are excellent, with a well-equipped kitchen and a cosy communal area complete with a fire and warm lighting that made it feel so inviting. We especially appreciated the large boiling water machine, which meant we could always have a hot drink on hand and the delicious left over coffee. The beds were comfortable, with duvets that kept us warm through the night. There’s also a great collection of books to dip into during downtime. James, the manager, was exceptionally helpful and genuinely caring, even giving us peace of mind when we dealt with our first ever tick bite! His hospitality made the place feel like home. We also loved meeting his friendly dog Skye, who added to the welcoming atmosphere. Altogether, it was a perfect mix of location, comfort, and hospitality – highly recommended.

The hostel is in a prime location, in front of one of the best beaches in Scotland mainland. The dorm was great, bunk beds are separated by curtains so pretty much you have a ‘room for 2’ It was quiet when I stayed so I had one to myself. The bed was soooo comfy, I slept 10hs!!!! Common areas are good, I read a book at night and enjoyed the fire. There is option to buy dinner/ breakfast at the hostel too, and there’s also facilities to cook. There is a fish & chips shop nearby and a small shop for essentials. The place was really clean too! I haven’t stayed in a hostel in probably 12-14 years and this come back was brilliant. The staff was lovely and very helpful

A delightful place to stay. The room was spacious and warm, lovely clean toilets and shower rooms and the lounge with the open fire was a bonus. A short walk to a beautiful beach armed with food from the chippy next to the beach. The chap who met us on arrival was very helpful, couldn't of asked for more

Amazing location just 2 minutes off the beach. Secluded. Small hostel so not too busy. Spacious and clean kitchen. Friendly staff. A few things to be aware of: there is limited cell service and no WiFi so do your planning in advance; the twin room is very small - not ideal for lots of luggage!

Great location and staff. Staff were attentive and nice, super informative and accommodating. Individual curtained rooms allowed for sufficient privacy for a shared room. Very comfy and very warm for a autumn stay. Good social areas with a wood-burner meant it felt very sheltered from the elements. Beds were surprisingly comfy for bunk beds, shower was great. Very safe.

Kirsteen was a friendly and welcoming host, the room was very comfortable and modern with a great shower. The property was beautiful, with fabulous views across the water from the lovely communal and breakfast area. The continental breakfast was a welcome treat after too many cooked breakfasts! Fresh fruit, cereals,juices, coffee and cheeses were delicious. Kirsteen was also a mine of information about where to go next and with local advice. We had a delicious seafood meal at Peet's in the evening as well. This was the best stop we had on our NC500 trip, and would love to come back.

Located right on the water's edge in Lochinver, Bonnie Haven is the most comfortable place we have stayed in in Scotland. It is a light, bright house, purpose built to house guests and is so clean and fresh that it feels brand new. Kirsteen our lovely host lives nearby. The bed was super comfortable, we had the best nights sleep of our whole holiday here. The breakfast area/communal lounge area overlooks the water. Kirsteen, our host was really helpful, suggesting a fabulous walk along the nearby river as well as other areas to explore. It's an easy walk into the village for dining etc. The breakfast was fabulous, delicious fruit (I've never seen such huge blueberries), yoghurts, cereals (especially Lizzies organic granola), croissants, toast etc. Fresh flowers in the living room and lovely touches like maps and books of information about the area to borrow. We will definitely be back.

Host was helpful in directing us to the property and met us on arrival, Very welcoming, making us a coffee with biscuits. Advised us on places to eat that evening. We managed to book a table at Delilah's a mile up the road, which was lovely, but best to book in advance rather than on the day like we did, as didn't eat until 9pm. Bonnie Haven offered a beautiful view. Breakfast was delicious with lots of options. We had the upstairs room and it was cosy, comfortable and clean. The kitchen/dining/seating area downstairs was shared with the couples staying in the two other rooms, so we all ate breakfast together and shared our travelling experiences.

Fabulous house in amazing location. We had the upstairs room with our own mezzanine, comfy chairs to enjoy the view. Host was very welcoming & helpful. Breakfast continental style but lots of it & tasty. Would certainly recommend a stay here & try Peets restaurant for dinner but you must book a table.

The host Kirsteen was so welcoming and friendly. Room was perfect and spotless clean. The breakfast was exceptional the best continental breakfast with plenty of it and fresh ingredients. Location was stunning (just a pity about the midges). Would recommend for sure!

This accommodation exceeded our expectations in terms of quality and luxury. We were also surprised at how spacious our pod was inside, more than enough room for a family or two couples, even with a fully fitted kitchen which was amazing. Everything we could need and immaculately clean. Double bed was small but very comfortable. We were expecting a beach view, however it's only a short walk from Achmelvich Bay, which is absolutely stunning. Up the hill and slightly further on is Achmelvich Beach, and another little walk away is Hermits Castle, which is well worth a visit. There's a little shop at the caravan park that sells essentials and some groceries, reasonably priced, and there's also a great little chip shop on site. Although it's a short drive to Lochinver and other restaurants etc, but we didn't want to leave so the chip shop was a pleasant surprise. Great base for exploring the area, although one night was pricey - but definitely treat yourself, it's worth it!

This place is amazing, the pods are perfect, well equipped with everything you’ll need. We chose a pet friendly pod as we had our little dog with us, the place was spotless. Right next to one of the most stunning beaches in Scotland. It rained the whole weekend but even then it was all still perfect! Lochinver is a mile along the road, not much was open as we were off season but would definitely recommend Lochinver Larder Pies. We visited Clachtoll beach a few miles along from Achmelvich, equally as beautiful!

Location was amazing!!! The beach nearby is stunning, was so fun exploring the area. The Pod was cozy for the 3 of us. Kitchen was stocked and had everything to make dinner. Bed was super comfy too. Everything was great!

Lovely hut with modern furniture which has everything needed for a comfortable stay: well-equipped kitchen, nice bathroom, optimum layout for a small cabin. Very friendly and helpful staff. Quiet surroundings. Fantastic sandy beach only a few minutes away on foot. A great coastal walk can be done too.

The pods are amazing, really warm when we opened the door. The site they are on has the most amazing beach very close by, which you will not believe you’re in Scotland. They are really well designed for a couple on a self catering holiday, with everything you would need. The communal barbecue, seating area and fire pit are a huge bonus. The double bed was really comfy, however the pull out settee wasn’t the most comfy, would be ok for a child perhaps, but that would be the only downside to the pod. We just had 1 pod for 4 adults which was very cosy, to say the least, but we had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend. There is a small shop and chip shop on the site which could be better but that really didn’t ruin our stay

Tor Druim is built on the side of a hill, with 'The most picture perfect view' of the sea and mountains. It is absolutely beautiful. Greg and Janet - Our hosts are truly amazing! They are easygoing and friendly, with the comfort of their guests as a very important priority whilst you are staying there. The extra touches, i.e., home baked biscuits, filtered water, thermos of milk. ( all so appreciated) All this in a super clean, extra large, very tastefully designed room with window views of the sea and mountains, a Kingsized double bed (so comfortable, best sleep since we started our travels) It was also lovely to have a 'working' hot towel rail in the bathroom! Breakfast was delicious, and nothing was too much trouble to ask for. The use of fridge and microwave in the 'dining room' to store and use foods YOU bring with you was very handy if you didn't want to travel out for evening meal. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed if they are fortunate to have the opportunity to stay.

Beautiful setting. Very relax and comfortable stay. The accommodation is exactly like in the pictures. Comfortable bed and spotless clean. I would recommend you to pack your dinner/ take out from a restaurant before you proceed further to the hotel as it was quite a drive to get in but it's definitely worth it. Breakfast was included and it's really nice and healthy options. Definitely recommend to stay here for a peaceful relaxing holiday and will definitely comming back in the future.

The owners are really friendly and helpful. The house is beautiful. The room was lovely, clean and comfortable. The best night's sleep we've had. And all of this was while still suffering the effects of Storm Floris e.g. a power cut. Janet and Greg... You are amazing. Thank you for such a fabulous stay.

I don't want to give Tor Druim too good a review because we will definitely want to return and may find it fully booked!! However one must be fair to the owners and give full credit. We were warmly welcomed to the house, there is plenty of parking and not far to carry the luggage. Our room offered amazing views out over the bay and had a velux window that opened to give a wide unrestricted view. The room was large, impeccably clean, modern and well appointed. Although there are no catering facilities nearby, we were prepared and took out own food/wine which was perfect. Breakfast was fantastic and we both really enjoyed it. Also loved playing with the 2 gorgeous springer spaniels Daisy and Jake. A wonderful place to stay with lovely hosts.

Everything was exceptional. The location was stunning with loch views, so peaceful. The hosts were so kind and looked after us so nicely. Very comfortable bed and the shower room was excellent as well - great facilities. The breakfast was outstanding and such a range of food on offer. We brought pies to have as our evening meal and Janet kindly heated them for us and went above and beyond with her generosity. We will definitely be visiting again. Such a peaceful location and just 30 mins to Lochinver.

The house is very cozy and in a quiet peaceful location. There are cozy clean rooms, wifi, nice warm kitchen with coffee and tea for guests plus a nice place to make a fire outside. The place is also very clean. What I liked the most though was a very welcoming staff. Especially Ruth who helped me with everything that I needed and was very kind and genuine. She made me feel at home from the start. I wish I had more time to get to know the staff better. This hostel was my favourite in the highlands, perhaps in the whole UK :) I highly recommend to stay there and to book more days!

Our host Ruth is hospitable & friendly ! The hostel is located in an amazing location with a great view of the sea and surrounding nature. Benches with fire pits for BBQ are located in the garden. Two restrooms are available for the guests staying in the dormitory at the main house. The shower was located in a single cabin outside the main house. Both the restrooms & the single shower bathroom were clean and spacious. Clean towels were provided at the dormitory. The dormitory where the beds are located are separated into three rooms with curtains and are spacious. A small sink with potable water is also located within the dormitory. A big kitchen equipped with all necessary kitchen utensils and electrical appliances is located at the ground floor and dinning room/common room place is located at the same place. Board games are available in the dining room/common room !

Amazing experience! We were given clear communications on how to find the hostel.Kids love the adventure of pushing the wheelbarrow down the path from the car park. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is remote but absolutely outstanding. Beautiful drive over and the pods are such luxury and very well equipped with everything you need. The views are amazing to wake up to. There is a very relaxed feel to the place and you are able to use the hostel kitchen to do your cooking. There is someone on site to help you and Ruth was very helpful providing a bbq kit for us one evening and sharing local knowledge. If you're looking for peace quiet and beautiful walks, scenery then this is a must. My favourite place to stay on my road trip. I definitely want to come back.

Everything! Wish I could have stayed longer - Ruth is a very friendly host - the hostel is located almost on the beach, the views is amazing and rooms very clean and comfortable. Bathrooms are very clean and even get towels. Kitchen is well equipped and dinning room is very cozy.

This is a special place. A very old hostel that is as comfortable as the modern ones out there. It’s especially cosy with all the comforts of a hot, modern shower and comfy beddings. Also, it’s off the road, has views and direct beach access.

The staff at Newton Lodge went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect! They organised a table for dinner which we would highly recommend as the food is excellent and very fresh. The room was very comfortable with lots of lovely added extra such as binoculars to enjoy the view, and maps of the local area. Breakfast was 10/10 with great options and is cooked freshly to order. The view from the restaurant is amazing over the loch and we were very lucky to see it on a beautiful sunny day. Highly recommend to all, and it is dog friendly!

Lovely friendly staff who made us very welcome. The food was lovely, and the view from the dining area was exceptional looking over Loch Gleann Dubh. There is also a very nice bar area to sit and enjoy a few drinks, or a comfortable lounge to relax in front of the fire The room was very clean, very comfortable and had dual aspect views over the maintains and Loch. Two outside sitting areas are great to enjoy the views and tranquillity of this beautiful location. There is also plenty of private parking. Amazing place to stay on the NC 500 route.

While on a hiking trip, our original accommodation fell through at the very last minute. We had just summited two Munros and were in desperate need of somewhere to rest and recover. After struggling to find phone signal, we managed to book a room at Newton Lodge around 7:30 PM and arrived shortly after 8 PM — and were pleasantly surprised by how reasonably priced it was compared to other options in the area. We were warmly welcomed by Liz, who is genuinely one of the kindest and most thoughtful hosts we've ever met. She had seen our late booking and kindly stayed after hours to greet us. At that point, we were exhausted and stressed, and her friendly, calming presence felt like a gift. The hotel itself was spotless, warm, and very comfortable. The beds were exactly what we needed, the hot shower was heaven, and the honesty bar and lounge provided the perfect space to unwind after a challenging day. Breakfast the next morning was delicious, with fresh, high-quality ingredients and great service. Liz greeted us again in the morning with the same warm smile, and we both agreed that our stay at Newton Lodge ended up being the unexpected highlight of our trip. It truly felt like the stars aligned to bring us here, and we’re already looking forward to coming back.

Newton Lodge hotel is a real treat if you're travelling the NC500. With stunning views across the Loch, and binoculars in every room so you can spot the amazing wildlife, this hotel doesn't disappoint. The staff are really friendly, and make you feel very welcome. Whilst the rates are pricey, if you want to push the budget, then I'd say it's worth it. The rooms are really well furnished, with comfy beds, quality teas, coffees, and even bath robes for that extra bit of luxury. Breakfast was excellent, great quality, and good portions, with stunning views across the loch. We stayed for dinner, and whilst it was pricey, the food was excellent, especially the guiness & banana sponge, recommended to us by Tony. In the evening there's a nice communal room, with great views of the loch and a huge log fire to sit in front of with your whisky!

The location was stunning with views onto Loch Glencoul. The outside was a little understated but once inside the decor was very cosy and welcoming. The attention to detail made it feel like a home from home. The room was comfortable and clean with a good sized enquire. The food was delicious for both breakfast and dinner. The staff were very friendly and accommodating

Spent 3 nights at Ardmore house. Location is perfect for walkers wild swimmers the NC500 or even just to rest in the peace and quiet. Everything is perfect, spotlessly clean, comfortable room with soft bedding and a large range of tea/coffee in the room. Guests have access to a lounge with TV/Netflix ect to use whenever you want lots of books to read or just sit and look at views over the hills we even had a Highland Stag visit the gardens. Breakfast is fantastic with homemade granola soft fruits and compot homemade bread fresh eggs from own chickens a choice of cooked breakfast and proper coffee Jo and Trevor are perfect hosts nothing is too much trouble will definitely be visiting again would highly recommend.

Absolutely beautiful BnB. Stayed for one night on a break from the NC500 with my son. The whole house is clean and well presented. Joe and Trevor are very welcoming, Joe is a very attentive and diligent host. My 13 year old commented 'she is cool' so that says alott. The bedrooms are very spacious, very nice modern shower, and complementary toiletries. The breakfast was amazing, fresh fruit, homemade granola, compote and natural yogurt. Followed by a cooked breakfast with home made beans, Sourdough and many more items. Joe loves a chat and is a very warm and caring host. I look forward to my next trip around the NC500 with my wife. I will definitely be visiting Joe and Trevor along the way.

We were made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble for our hosts, Jo and Trevor. Breakfast is excellent, a range of fruit plus homemade compote and granola with greek yoghurt. We had fruit juice and tea plus a cooked breakfast. Tasty, well made and quality ingredients. Our room was comfortable with a great view. Again, in room tea and coffee making facilities with fresh milk was on offer. The log fire in the guest lounge was lit in the evening which made the room cosy which we enjoyed very much. we walked to the local beach, which we would recommend. We ate at the Inver Lodge hotel one evening which was outstanding. We would recommend Ardmore House as a place to stay, Jo is a very kind and caring person who makes you feel very welcome in her home.

Ardmore House B&B is just wonderful. It is set in such a beautiful and quiet location close by to Achmelvich Beach and Lochinvar. It was incredible to see the wild deer munching away outside of our bedroom window! We had the warmest welcome when we arrived and the hosts continued to be friendly and welcoming throughout our short stay. The B&B is decorated in the most beautiful way, the rooms are so cosy and full of character. The breakfast was absolutely incredible and has inspired me to make some homemade granola when I get back home! Both hosts were so lovely to chat to and Jo was helpful in helping us to plan the next part of our trip and even taught me that a baby puffin was called a puffling! The bed was incredibly comfortable and we both left Ardmore House feeling so relaxed and refreshed. If we were to find ourselves visiting this part of the world again, we would definitely return to Ardmore House. It was our favourite BnB of our 10 night trip and would definitely recommend to anyone! Thank you for such a lovely stay!

I'd recommend Ardmore House based on its location alone; about a mile outside of Lochinver and surrounded by the wild, rugged, dramatic landscape that makes Assynt the most beautiful place on earth. However there is much more to it than that. Jo and Trevor are excellent hosts: friendly and welcoming in a quiet, natural way. My room was bigger than I expected, spotlessly clean, and provided everything you could reasonably expect from a B&B. Breakfast was wonderful - fresh fruit, yogurt, juice, tea & coffee, a choice of hot food and the highlight: as much toast from home baked bread as you can manage. All delicious and well presented. All in all I can't speak highly enough of Ardmore House and my hosts.

After a long day of driving we were thrilled to be upgraded to a suite as soon as we arrived. Our room was huge with beautiful views. We ate at the hotel for dinner, the food was fresh and delicious - can’t really beat fresh lobster and chips overlooking beautiful scenery with lovely wine. The staff were a pleasure to speak to - very attentive, welcoming, cheery and helpful! This was our favourite stop on the NC500 and we will definitely be returning and recommending this hidden spot to family and friends. We only wished we had booked to stay for two nights!

It’s wonderful how they have kept the cottages and renovated with all the modern day amenities. We stayed at the cottage down by the river. With the windows closed you could not hear the river (so you can sleep). It felt like going back in time and being in nature. The large house is very charming, fishing tackle and rods everywhere as decor. The bar and dining rooms are so cosy and comfortable. It’s a beautiful property. The dinner was very good, as was breakfast in the sun room.

Such a charming hotel. Stepping inside feels like entering a luxury lodge in the remote Scottish Highlands from a century or two ago. From the wood fireplace to the heated clothes drying room, the tartan and the decor; it makes a great impression. The rooms maintain the historic feel while mixing in a recently renovated bathroom with a great shower and full size tub and all the other modern conveniences. The entire hotel has wonderful hilltop views down over the town and harbor. This was a wonderful backdrop both for our morning coffee at the in-room sitting area and the lovely dinners in the dining room. The staff are always genuine and friendly and go out their way to be helpful. This hotel is an experience worth going a bit out of your way.

Stunning views, super warm and welcoming staff, nice log fire in the lounge, large comfortable room with lovely bedding and comfortable bad and pillows (finally). Nice restaurant with beautiful views, good dinner and breakfast. Lovely town with excellent pies!

The room was spacious and had a beautiful view over the bay. It was clean and cosy. Big beds. The personnel was super friendly. There was a nice fireplace and the restaurant serves great food (dinner and breakfast).
