The Sails in Nelson was a very comfortable and enjoyable experience. The accomodation was spotless, warm, welcoming and very comfortable. The kitchenette had everything required and was extremely adequate for our requirements. The bed was extremely comfortable and cosy. Cherie the host was welcoming and very pleasant, our breakfast made by her was 10/10 which was delivered to our room at our desired time. The only issue we have with Nelson is that we have been issued a $85 parking fine at the Super Liquor store which has allocated parking spaces for customers, we went into the store to look for a specific single malt whiskey and spoke with the male staff assistant who had a Canadian/American accent, they did not stock the specific whiskey. We have appealed the parking infringement with Wilson parking but have been denied the appeal. We will never return to Nelson!

We stayed 2 nights at The Sails in a Studio suite and it was superb. The rooms were immaculate and modern. Very quiet. There was a full sized kitchen with a Nespresso machine, plunger coffee and a variety of teas. There was also a dishwasher ,stove and cooking utensils. The bed was very comfy. Shower pressure was fabulous. We had a balcony which captured all day sun. The manager, Cherie was very friendly and helpful. We had both the continental breakfast and pancakes which were delicious. Close 5-10 minute walk into town. Would highly recommend this accomodation and we look forward to staying again in the future.

Excellent location, amazing staff, very clean with lots of room and the most comfortable beds of any hotel we have stayed. We ordered breakfast every morning and found every option delicious. The pancakes with fried banana was amazing! Heather and Michael were gracious hosts and very helpful. Ample free parking and very easy access to major roadways. Lovely walk along the river very close by. Amazing view of the Nelson sunset. We highly recommend the Sails!

I read about this luxury motel on a blog (the author raved about it), and thank goodness I did! It was modern, new, spotless, ginormous (the shower stall was the size of most bathrooms!), well-appointed, comfortable (most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in), handy to zillions of restaurants and stores, and came with a parking spot right below the room (no trudging through a huge lot). Cherie at the front desk was friendly and helpful. I would absolutely recommend The Sails and stay here again without question.

An all day sunny room, very peaceful ( no outside noise), discreet helpful staff, convenient location to local walks n town, amazing shower, bed, pillows, tv. Brilliant selection of coffee n herb tea, kitchen well supplied. Exceptionally clean, tidy, luxurious. The DO NOT DISTURB sign worked, unlike other motels. Even cooked breakfast if required. Thankyou!!

Gorgeous room in Nelson with just what we needed. The jacuzzi bath was a nice surprise! Coffee and tea making facilities and a fridge. This room was comfortable, spacious, and good value for money. The staff were super helpful too. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance.

Lovely host, wonderful room and exceptional facilities. Very clean throughout and made up to a high standard. The bathroom included a lovely jacuzzi tub and very pleasant local shower/bath products. To top it off, the lady at reception was wonderfully helpful and gave us tips on dinner and activities on the west coast. I would recommend a stay here to anyone.

The owner is super helpful and accommodating The unit is very nice, clean, large, and comfortable. The unit well layout with long table to do work. Very friendly welcome at reception. We had booked a standard studio. We were unpacking the car into a lovely studio room when, the lady from the front desk came over to offer us a free upgrade to the Presedential Suite which we gratefully accepted. Fantastic accommodation...spotlessly clean. Extremely comfortable beds with fresh, crisp linen and plenty of towels. Well equipped kitchen, full range of TV channels and a large bathroom with great shower over a spa bath. Great central location, easy to get to restaurants in town...even walkable if you don't want to drive. Totally recommend the Palazzo...you won't be sorry you booked here.

Perfect location, and what a lovely studio. Parked right outside the door. The rooms were clean, cosy and comfortable. Every possible essential, well equipped kitchen, huge bathroom with corner spa bath.p and beautiful toiletries. Scrupulously clean and oh the luxury of warm towels! Comfy bed, had a great sleep. Judith and her husband were very welcoming and great hosts. Stay here when you go to Nelson !

Extremely comfortable bed - best night sleep I had in weeks. Excellent location, walkable to everything. Surprisingly really spacious studios with super clean kitchenette, jacuzzi bath tub and even a washer dryer for laundry. Staff were absolutely lovely too.

Great location in Nelson for getting around even without a car. Sister to Tides across the street which has a great restaurant, and downtown and a grocery store less than 5 minute walk( highly recommend Sweet As Cafe and Harry Hawker for sake and sashimi! Reception was friendly and helpful, room was very comfortable and spa tub was excellent! Nice balcony-we were at the front, no great views due to location but comfortable to sit out on. A lot of great garden, nature and river walks close by, and you can walk over to the waterfront. Couldn’t get the TV to screen mirror, but tbf we did not inquire as it wasn’t a big priority for us. Well worth it, hope to be back!

Awesome central location, clean, modern, well equipped apartments. Quiet, with a comfortable spacious bed, & bonus of a pool to relax in. Will be my 1st choice when back in Nelson again. Walk to town, restaurants or enjoy many local trails & parks. It just gets better. Polite & cheerful management. Lovely stay.

Very comfortable bed. Compact modern,clean with good size TV and streaming as well as Sky. Very good facilities and appreciated room servicing. Nice to have a coffee machine, spa shower and newspaper delivery. Staff were friendly and helpful and the maintenance of property was very good 👍 Would definitely return.

Amazingly clean and very helpful friendly staff….the link up with Tides Hotel and Restaurant perfect for delicious breakfasts and dinner. The laundry facilities worked perfectly too.

The Host Dave and his wife were just lovely. Very helpful very friendly and chatty. Gave us some good tips on food places and things to see while in Nelson. The unit was very very clean, smelt good - roomy, warm and extremely comfortable. Great hot shower, lovely big bathroom. big kitchen and fridge, great for families. The beds were so soft and comfortable. Having the sky TV was fantastic and the area very safe and close to the beach for amazing walks. We used the laundry which was again so very very clean. It was one of the nicest Hotels we stayed in and the nicest of Hosts. Would definitely stay there again and definitely recommend others to stay there. They really went to extra mile in cleanliness and friendliness.

Had not booked at all when arriving in the afternoon on the 26 TH Jan 2022, picked the Arcadia as it offered a quiet back street and had decent off street parking. Friendly welcome from the owner (Andy) and managed to secure their last family unit...phew! Such a clean and tidy 2 bedroom unit, beds were so comfortable and the renovated bathroom was first class. The pool offered us a welcome cool off after a hot drive, the location is so close to dining out as well as a short stroll to the awesome beach. Would highly rec. the Arcadia to anyone after friendly service, spotlessly clean rooms and a memorable stay, cheers.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Arcadia Motel in Nelson. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, making it feel like a home away from home. The staff were friendly and attentive, providing excellent service throughout my stay. The location was convenient, with easy access to local attractions and restaurants. I also appreciated the peaceful atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing getaway. Highly recommended!

Staying at the Arcadia turned out to be a very good decision. Great location in a pleasant neighborhood with nearby beaches, parks and restaurants. Excellent walk ability! The area attracts many locals who are out enjoying this awesome place they call home. Good vibes indeed! Well kept and very tidy room was spacious, clean and well equipped. Our unit #6 was very quiet and it’s living room and kitchen would have made an extended stay easy. Knowledgeable and and host Andy made us feel comfortable and most welcome. He took the time to acquaint us with the area, providing good local maps and excellent suggestions for walking tours, pubs and even helping with restaurant bookings. Really first rate service! Nelson is a great town and staying at the Arcadia is a perfect place to enjoy it from.

This was a wonderful place to stay after the Abel Tasman. Kerry (I believe was his name) was a really helpful, warm, and welcoming representative of the hotel. Loved having a jacuzzi tub. Wish I had stayed there longer

Chelsea Park is a home away from home - modern, clean, well appointed, quiet and well located within Nelson. Our room had all the basic amenities required for a short or longer stay and the room service was excellent, everything was in working order, exceptionally good beds, the cleaning staff were particular and very efficient in replacing items that were used up. Your location gives you quick access to Spagalimi's Pizzaria 3 mins away on foot and Nelson's CBD and the restaurant precinct is an easy 15 mins stroll where you'll not go wrong at Penguino's Icecreams, Little India Bistro, Green Bamboo, Jay's Dumplings, Eight Plates or Chokdee restaurants. Nelson seems to do coffee really well almost anywhere but our favourite was definitely the cafe within Suter Art Gallery. But what makes Chelsea Park ultra special is Dean the owner of Chelsea Park. The welcome and orientation is second to none, Dean is Nelson's number 1 fan and freely offers good suggestions and points out hidden gems. Who else would phone you knowing that you are out to dinner on a significant anniversary to warn you that there is a police check point right outside your accommodation - nice thoughtful touch but we weren't actually drinking! Friendly host from day 1 to the last day and every day in between. If Dean had been the inn keeper on the very first Christmas he would have found room in his inn.

We were pleasantly surprised by the Chelsea Park Motor Lodge. The name brought up memories of a one-story road-side hotel. While it was road-side, it was two stories with 10 units. We walked in to a very nice two-bedroom unit with a living room and kitchenette. The beds were comfortable and the kitchenette was well-stocked. Our unit was sunny with a private balcony. The on-site manager, Dean, was friendly and helpful with good suggestions for dinner out. We were able to walk to center city. I would definitely recommend the spacious, two-bedroom unit in downtown Nelson.

We had a very nice room - maybe the motel's best, at the back of the main building, quiet and comfortable with private patio - and jacuzzi bath. Good restaurant nearby, and several breakfast options also nearby.

We stayed here before and after our trip to Abel Tasman park, flying in/out of Nelson. The motel was comfy and clean and well equipped (our room had a jacuzzi bath!), would highly recommend. The staff were also fantastic hosts, organising a late check in for us on day of arrival. Rooms were spotlessly clean and well equipped.

Great value for money. The rooms were spacious and clean. We had a great little courtyard that we could have a cuppa or beer in the sunshine. The hosts were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Proximity to restaurants, bars, beach and petrol perfect.

Owners were very friendly right from the time i checked in. Room kitchen and bathroom were spotless. The bed really comfortable and lots of sky channels was perfect after a soak in the Jetted tub that was super clean and worked perfectly. 5 min walk to the beach and 2 min walk to fast food and a service station. Or cook for your self. Kitchen has everything you need (other than food :-) )

Location perfect for Tahunanui beach. Outdoor seating area ideal. Excellent laundry facilities, friendly host who is helpful and has lots of knowledge about the area. Parking for each unit very convenient. Each unit is serviced every day which was a nice addition. Overall fully recommend this accommodation and the pricing is very competitive. A perfect stay for a visit to Nelson.

Central location, parking availability, our room was modern and very clean. Sky tv, ironing board and fridge. Comes with decent body / hand wash and shampoo and conditioner. Shower pressure was fantastic. We also really enjoyed having the table and chairs / outside area right outside our room. Great bar and restaurant attached to the hotel - so nice to go enjoy a drink in the sun with a view of the river. Friendly staff!!

This hotel has been our best stay in New Zealand, having toured around the north and upper part of the south island over the past 3 weeks. Great location, quirky decor and friendly staff. The balcony room overlooking the Maitai River was perfect. Great location of the bar/restaurant also, breakfast was fresh and delicious.

Room was very nice and back from the road so very quiet. Room was large and very clean. Bathroom was clean. Everything worked properly. Good powerful shower. The Manager was very friendly and helpful.

Clean and tidy, spacious unit with comfortable bed in the main living room, and 3 x beds in the bedroom. I liked the coffee sachet and plunger, sky tv, free wifi, shower pressure great, new heat pump, parking right outside unit. Could not hear any noise from other units, but was a week night when we stayed. Was good for two nights.

We stayed at the Century Park Motor Lodge on the last two nights of a two-week tour of the South Island. It was the perfect luxury stop, to finish off our holiday. The Motor Lodge was very well located, walking distance to all the central restaurants and bars, as well as being a short drive to the airport. When we arrived, we were welcomed by a very friendly owner who could not have been more helpful with places to eat, places to visit and he gave us a tour of our room. The room was very comfortable and spacious and provided everything we needed. We would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting Nelson.

Everything .. an absolutely amazing stay .. a beautiful warm welcome in an immaculately clean reception which sets the tone for your stay .. rooms are modern , well equipped, spacious , comfortable, warm and quiet . Also the little things that make the stay that bit more comfortable, large TV, free wifi,salt and pepper, real milk , an umbrella.

We had a great stay at Century Park motor lodge. The location was perfect, just a short walk into the city. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable with ample amenities including milk in the fridge. Parking was free and readily available. The beds were comfy with soft sheets. Wifi was excellent and the tv was equipped with Netflix.

We always stay here when visiting Nelson. It’s consistently excellent, hosts are nice and helpful, it’s modern, comfy, clean, great having Netflix (well done guys), we walk into the city for dinner, great value for money, quiet, we love it.

The Boutique Motel is under new management, and the managers,Carol & Don were great.The rooms were comfortable and clean,and the beds were amazing, very good mattresses and pillows,and extras if needed. A Thai restaurant, Indian curry shop,( The Lamb Chops are to die for!!),Fish & Chips are a must as well,so there is plenty of choice to keep you interested. We will definitely stay with them again,and we found the people of Stoke very friendly as well.We felt very safe walking around the streets,with people willing to help out with info,directions ect. Welcomed by Gareth a good Scot from Edinburgh, he happily showed us to our room. The location was perfect for us. Parking on site very easy. Freshly ground coffee for us! Good clear typed signage and information folder, We had come to Nelson for a funeral of a dear friend. Stoke Summerset retirement village was close by so we could visit other friends. We are familiar with Nelson. Gareth and Hayley a delightful young couple, friendly and happy to help. Gareth’s ‘Little Nessie’ coffee shop is a wee gem, freshly ground coffee and yummy food. Oh yes, we also were given vouchers for complimentary coffee at Little Nessie.

From the very welcoming beginning , the ability to Park our Bikes, spotless clean room and comfortable Bed. Location was very quiet and Great Location for being in Central Nelson area. Close to the Airport. Easy Access for City Centre and bike trails

The location was perfect for us attending a wedding and other activities near by in Richmond, Monaco and Marsden areas. Comfortable room with good furniture to optimise the space. Kitchenette was compact but functional, great for easy breakfast and lunch. Furnishings comfortable and relaxing colours. Easy to find and parking was good.

Clean, secure motel in central Stoke. Very convenient for the purposes of my visit. The staff were very professional, friendly and helpful. Would be very happy to return.

Clean, comfortable and spacious rooms. We had a one bedroom apartment for 3 of us but it slept 4 and was a good set up for a family of 4. Very comfortable beds. Close to Nelson town centre but very quiet and peaceful. Hotel staff were friendly, helpful and efficient.

Always enjoy our stay here. Quiet peaceful and relaxing which is what we need with parking right outside room. Room is always clean and comfortable. Good kitchen. Friendly welcoming staff. Very nice meals at the Flames on 40 restaurant onsite. Definitely will be back to stay.

Easy, friendly check-in at reception and a cosy, clean, conventional room with a lovely little patio to sit outside but facing a carpark and back of the hotel building. Basic amenities with a super comfy beds and great shower with good water pressure and little bathroom condiments which was nice. Overall we enjoyed our overnight stay.

Very nice hotel with restaurant. We had a room with a bath which we appreciated because most accommodation in NZ only has a shower. The evening meal was good and the breakfast too. Free parking as well. The room was clean and quiet. Didn't use the pool because the weather was quite cold.

It was really clean and my room got serviced both days which was amazing when I was in a rush out the door. They were very helpful with suggestion around taxi and Ubers . Helpful with where the nearest shops were . Love they have a restaurant onsite making life easy

This motel is a little more upmarket and modern yet affordable. Its modern and relaxing, despite being on a main road. The Manager was so friendly and helpful. The views are outstanding even from the front rooms. Our room was beautifully clean and well appointed, just needed a bedside cabinet on both sides of the bed otherwise perfect. Will definitely stay here again.

We were pleasantly surprised to find this spacious modern motel within easy driving distance of Nelson. Rooms are all well appointed apartments with kitchenette, comfortable beds, and modern bathrooms. The complex has a south facing outdoor swimming pool which we used extensively. The owner and staff were friendly and very helpful. The main road in front of the hotel can be noisy during rush hour, but is quiet at night. May be worth requesting a room with the bedroom of the main road if you are a light sleeper.

Our stay at Parkside was very good. Clean and comfortable. Pool was so nice- we loved it. If you’re looking for a place to stay this is the perfect place Near the attractions. Complementaries were on point. Good wifi connection. Quiet at night. Nice and clean bedsheets. Clean toilet. Ac is available for warmer days. Bet in winter would be very warm as well. Overall we are satisfy during our stay.

A very pleasant place to stay, plenty of room with modern layout. Large shower and toilet area Clean and tidy and very friendly staff to welcome and assist with anything that was required Rooms were very well presented and supply of coffee, tea etc was good The pool was clean and warm On the down side the units were right on the main road and you could hear the trucks during the night (not a major worry for us though)

Perfect location, within walking distance of the beach and all activities for kids. Being by the Tahunanui beach campsite was an added bonus as we were able to use the playground, play mini golf and ride the bikes (we had to hire them). The Deck Cafe was amazing from the staff to the food. Was also within walking distance from the beach cafe and coffee shops and restaurants.

the property was clean and tidy and central to everything we wanted the beach, food and bus to town. the staff were so friendly and helpful. Sky was an absolute star welcoming us when we arrived and making sure that our rooms were sorted daily. one day when we were in the pool the owner came to check in with us to make sure we had everything we needed and then he came back with some pool towels. it was very quiet and everyone was lovely including the other guests. our stay was for four nights and we enjoyed every minute! so much so that our group has booked again for next year and we have added another night ♥️

Friendly and helpful for checking in, especially for an unexpected late arrival. Good off-street parking - chose this place as had bikes on the back of the car and seemed a safe choice. Decor is dated but very clean and tidy, shower renovated and very pleasant. The fan sensor in the bathroom was a great idea, only ran for a short time and only when someone was actually there. Wifi seemed speedy though didn't use seriously. No complaints - would recommend.

It began with chatty and helpful David at checkin, who offered us an upgrade to an upper floor, larger suite with better airflow through the windows. He personally walked us over, and pointed out the cafe out the back gate right next door at the campground, and the bike rentals place beside it. And of course we could now see the sea too, 400m away. Big suite with comfy sofa, kitchenette, kithcen table and balcony with table and chairs too. Good sized bedroom with huge, comfy bed. Bathroom with good if creaky shower, instant heat and plenty of water pressure. Will definitely stay again if we ever return to Nelson.

Great place to stay. Handy to walking track. Great takeaway, coffee next door. Rooms clean and tidy with comfy bed. Owner very helpful and friendly. Abel tasman shuttle pick up from motel and double decker bus to town every 20m out the back door.

Apartment was brilliant! Very comfy bed, great shower-bath (it's a jacuzzi bath and the shower had excellent water pressure), nice size with ample room for relaxing, eating and prepping basic food. Decent decor that didn't feel dated. Very lovely staff. Super clean!!!

Location was convenient to beaches. Very clean and friendly. Marcus gave us great recommendations on dining and activities. Jacuzzi tub and provided bath salts were perfect after a nice bicycle excursion.

This motel is on the main road in Tahunanui, so very easy to find and in such a good position for the beach area, restaurants, pubs and lovely walks around there. I was in a one bedroom unit on the ground floor, it was really spacious, very clean, with modern furniture, and THE most comfy bed!! One of the things I really liked, was that the motel was very well appointed with modern plugs - including USB inputs, and loads of them. So you didn't have to juggle having all your phones, etc in one plug. There was a TV in the lounge and bedroom, both were a good size and had all the channels and streaming services available, plus easy screen sharing, with the push of a button. No pfaffing about trying to connect things up or get things going. The bathroom was big, with a shower over large spa bath, great water pressure and good hot water. All the amenities were supplied - shampoo/conditioner, body wash/hand wash, etc. The front of house team were really friendly and tried to do anything to make our visit a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Would definitely book again.

Beaches Nelson has a prime location and is close to all amenities and the city center. When we checked in, the Receptionist Janie was super helpful and promptly checked us into the appropriate room. She was very considerate as we were traveling with our elderly mother. The Beaches Nelson rooms are pristine with everything you need for your stay. I would highly recommend this property to anyone traveling into Nelson. The staff are accommodating, very friendly, and willing to go the extra mile, should you need any information. Clean room, extremely beautiful layout of the apartment, ample supplies, and fantastic location of the property. The staff are super friendly and provide great housekeeping services too. It is very close to Tahunanui Beach, so anyone can take an easy stroll and enjoy the beautiful beach. There is an onsite laundry facility as well (although we didn't need to use this service). This was our first visit to Nelson and we will surely be booking Beaches Nelson for future stays. Thank you Janie for being the kindest person and a friendly face of this property.
