Very clean. Spacious room. Spacious updated bathroom. Roomy shower. Comfortable bed & pillows. Had a full length mirror. there was a table and chairs and a comfy arm chair in the room. Convenient parking. Loved having a Nespresso coffee machine. The mirror at the sink in the bathroom was helpful.

Very friendly and welcoming staff, beautiful, nice interior design, comfy beds, restaurant and bar staff very friendly. At first we were surprised to see the hotel located at a busy road, but the hotel then turned out to be very quiet and relaxing. Close proximity to all tourist attractions in Newport.

The lobby was extremely welcoming and our room was perfect! The restaurant in the lobby was amazing! The chef stopped at our table and we were able to thank him for our delicious meals. The backyard and living room common spaces were awesome to take advantage of as well. We were within 10 minutes of wherever we wanted to get to which was very convenient. This was an amazing stay and cannot wait until next time!

Hotel is updated very clean staff is very welcoming. Breakfast in the restaurant was very good. We traveled for a hockey tournament and the location was perfect for travel to two different rinks without going through downtown Newport yet Newport is only a few minutes away to acess the restaurants.

Our room request for a first-floor- room was met and the room was perfect. Spotless and in a perfect location directly across from the parking lot, which was free as we stayed in May. The breakfast was wonderful and saved us from spending more to eat out, so it became a very economic get-away for us. We were very happy with everything, all of the walking distance restaurants were excellent and since it was daffodil time it was such fun exploring. The 40 steps area was a fun stop, and the walk was beautiful. We had done mansions before but did do the outside of a couple this time, all beautiful. The Ocean drive was also wonderful, we did it once in the fog and once in the sunshine. Being pro photographers, both gave us great shots. All of Newport is so worth the trip (from Maine for us) and we will definitely stay at the America's Cup the next time we go. Great room, great breakfast and great price.

That we were upgraded to a room with a king bed and an adjoining suite that had a bit of a view from the top floor! Also, really liked the afternoon tea/snacks and the plentiful breakfast! The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms and facilities were very clean and quiet. The location was great as we could walk to restaurants, shopping and other attractions.

Thank you Sierra for welcoming us and accommodating our needs (when we got to the hotel, our room has the pack n play already setup and airconditioner was on so the room was already cold and comfortable upon checking in). I also love that the hotel looks in new, in good condition, very clean, has free hot water/hot chocolate/coffee 24/7, breakfast was ok, indoor heated pool, dove toiletry products inside the room, very comfortable beds, I could go on and on.. everything made our stay very comfortable and would love to come back. I kind of wished we had the same exact holiday inn express (like this one) in Los Angeles so me and my family can go on staycation whenever we want. This is one of the best hotel that I’ve ever stayed at cosidering the price at an affordable rate! I am a very happy customer!

Our stay this past weekend was perfect. Alicia at the front desk greeted us at check in, she was very friendly, very kind. The manager Joe is the best. The rooms are clean, very spacious, very comfortable, the pillows are amazing! The breakfast was good, and the location is just minutes from downtown Newport. We will definitely stay at this hotel again in the future. Thank you to all the staff that made our stay so nice.

The Holiday Inn Express in Middletown, RI, has noteworthy suites that earn five stars. The smaller, individual rooms are fine, but the suites are sizable with two rooms. Our managers, mother and daughter (Sienna), were excellent during our November 2024 multi-day stay, as they have been in previous stays. When rooms weren't available at HIE, I've stayed in two other motor inns in Middletown. Neither facility compares with Holiday Inn Express's rooms, breakfasts, staff friendliness and overall quality. The suite's bed is comfy and clean, with a TV in the room and in the living room. Breakfasts are decent quality and offer a variety of food and beverages. I savor the tasty coffee that, even when the breakfast hours ends, is available with a takeaway cup. The HIE is located on a main road amid numerous shopping plazas and restaurants, and it's not too far from Newport and Portsmouth.

We visited the area for a naval graduation and had a wonderful stay. The hotel staff was courteous and attentive, ensuring we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Our request for a pack-and-play was promptly fulfilled, which we greatly appreciated. The room was spacious and well-maintained, and we were pleased with its cleanliness. The complimentary breakfast was a highlight, and we also enjoyed having coffee available in the lobby throughout the day. The hotel’s location was ideal—conveniently close to key attractions and easily accessible by car, with ample parking available. Overall, we had an excellent experience and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

This review is for a one night stay in the summer and a second night in the fall. Overall, it’s a good property and I would return. The location is unbeatable, right in Newport, on the water and walkable to restaurants and retail. Spacious and clean lobby. Convenient water refill stations on each floor and in the lobby. Beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean, but with a little wear and tear. We could hear our neighbors talking during our second stay and also found the room to be stuffy, even with fan on. The daily $35 resort fee includes a $20 food and beverage credit. This covered an order of BBQ chicken wings at the Skiff Bar, not including the tip. Very tasty, plus a great view overlooking the water. Hotel parking is expensive, but free at the adjacent public lot from Nov-May (make sure you’re in the public lot vs. the hotel lot). Platinum Benefits: No room upgrade offered. We chose 750 points for a welcome gift vs. an additional $10 F&B credit. The Lounge is closed on weekends, so we were offered either 1000 points or a voucher for the restaurant’s buffet breakfast. The buffet was ok, but the omelette station is very slow.

Beautiful and very well-run property! My family and I had a two-night stay, we really enjoyed the property, which was centrally located, walking distance to all the Newport attractions, and town. The room was immaculate, spacious, modern, well lit and well-maintained with a very pleasant housekeeping staff, saying good morning every day, and asking if we needed anything else during our visit. The lobby was beautiful, well layout and had great leadership presence; we met both Laura, the Front Office Manager, and Marc, the Director of Operations during our stay who thanked us for our stay and took the time to make some recommendations on their favorite local spots. We greatly appreciated the option for valet parking; the valet team had a great system where you can text them and the car will be waiting for you by the time you get down to the front drive… very efficient and a huge time saver. The dining options were also very nice including one of my favorite M-Clubs. The food was delicious and we were pleased to see the wide variety of breakfast options, including an amazing omelet from a very personable Millie! We also met Alexis in the lounge who was welcoming and ensured we were all set with out breakfast and busy day ahead. Each day ended with a relaxing night at the pool and a good night’s rest in very comfortable beds. We look forward to out next visit and hope to see the wonderful staff at the Newport Marriott again in the near future.

My husband and I had a great but brief stay at the Newport Marriott in May. Our room on the 5th floor had a fabulous outdoor balcony facing the water and various wharfs. We also had had a gas fire pit and comfy furniture. The room was clean and very comfortable. We had a big lunch so opted to enjoy a cheese plate on the balcony. Our breakfast was buffet style and quite delicious. I also must commend Meredith, the exceptional concierge who shared great suggestions for our day. I would highly recommend the Newport Marriott

Location cannot be beat. Walkable to everything downtown- restaurants, bars, shopping. And with the valet parking you can come and go as often as you want with the car. So this makes it even more convenient. The room wasn't very big, but it was comfortable, clean and the bed was very comfortable. We loved our stay and plan to go back. Also included in the price was a $30 per day resort fee, which you can use toward food or the bar if you charge to the room. And it included free tickets to the Tennis Hall of Fame. And use of free bicycles. Oh and the spa is amazing!

This Inn was Very clean and accommodating. Delicious breakfast and even served afternoon tea. Want sure what to expect in this 1838 building but it was nice. Historical in lobby but nicely updated room. Used a 'real' key for rooms that surprised and baffled my 13 year old grandson. Lol. It was a very Convenient location and I wish we had more time in newport. I wish they had information about restaurants nearby. The young man knew nothing about restaurants in the area. It would have been nice if they'd had some printed sheets for those not familiar with the area. Also I wish there was some information on that specific inn. We We're excited about to stay there because of how old the building was but there was absolutely no information available. That's kind of sad. The area to eat was very nice they set up and there's even a couple of seating areas with a t v that looked very comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel but if you're Wanting updated brand new everything this is not the place to stay. The bathroom was very clean and updated however it was really small. It worked for us. Beds were comfortable and the room was quiet Even though we were right by the stairs. Do not think there was an elevator so so that might be an issue for some.

Such a lovely inn. The inn is old, the floors at a slant, the hallways narrow but it's to be expected. It is 150+ years old. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The shower was new and spotless. The bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful.The breakfast and tea included in the price. And the inn is perfectly situated to the waterfront shops and restaurants. I loved the place. I would stay again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Americas Cup. Everything from the location, to the fabulous room, to the very nice staff, to the fantastic breakfast was awesome. Located right in Thames but not noisy, we were steps away from everything. It was perfect especially bc we had taken the ferry from Providence and didn’t have a vehicle so needed someplace close to everything. Somehow we were fortunate enough to get the Patriotic room on 4th of July weekend! Rooms look like they were recently updated including a beautiful bathroom and plush carpet. Staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was stellar. Probably my favorite hotel breakfast ever for the variety and freshness. If you are looking for a hotel with modern furnishings and sleek feel this is not it. But that’s why it’s perfect because you are in Newport, RI. The historical accuracy is perfect. My only change would be to move the ac in the room. It was located right next to the headboard with no way to change the direction of the output. Still had a great stay. Thank you ACI!

Our stay at the America's Cup Inn could not have been better. The room was comfortable and in a perfect location. We were on the first floor by request, and it was quiet and close to parking. The room was spotless and exactly what we wanted. It is walking distance to Thames St. and the docks, and great restaurants. The breakfast buffet was just perfect, with fruits, yummy breads, meats and eggs. The staff was great as well, and communication was excellent before we arrived, as I had a few questions. Don't hesitate to book this great inn, you won't be sorry. We will be back!

Stayed in two separate rooms across the hall from one another. Distinguishable difference in view and layout from room to room (I.e. one room had a gorgeous water view and Thames st view and one room looked at a roof of the building next door with broken windows). That being said - noise was a small inconvenience for the room that did face the street. When booking in the future - we would be sure to request a specific room. Also - no elevator and we were on the fourth floor. Not normally an issue but we had a member of a party with a semi-recent hip replacement which always put a small damper on making the trek back up to our rooms. I would request a lower floor next time. You cannot, however, beat this location. You step into the heart of the action. 1 minute walk to amazing restaurant. This is the prime reason to stay at this spot. The staff was friendly, breakfast selections were solid and varied, and the rooms were clean. Overall - would stay again with a room request! 👍

Our room was not sufficiently cleaned, but we were given a new room. The jacuzzi tub is the best therapy for my husband's ailing hip.

The outside and main lobby of hotel was beautiful. Room were spacious but a bit outdated, especially the bathroom. Tub was peeling a bit and the water pressure was pretty bad. Our room had a fridge but no microwave which was bad bc you had to go downstairs to use a microwave which was not convenient to get down to especially if you have kids , or a disability. Which my husband is handicap. Staff was welcoming and we even got free breakfast which made up for everything else. I like that they had a continental breakfast on side with starbucks coffee although not free. Our room had a balcony which overloooked the court yard. Our room walls were a bit thin and there was a loud party next door which we had to call the front desk at 2 am to take care of the noise. Again out of hotels control and hotel staff was very accommodating and took care of issue. In addition this hotel had a pool and jaccuzzi on site, but we didnt get to use. The location of hotel was close by downtown area and beaches. I would say this stay was an 80 out of a 100. The price and location, along with friendly staff and the convincing of having breakfast onsite was nice.

The Continental Breakfast was Great, Convenient and Stocked!!(Starbucks Coffee, as well!!) The Lobby is so “up-beat,” Beautifully designed and had A lot of room(square footage)! It was Comfortable..Quite Relaxing!!! They have an “S-shaped, Gorgeous, heated pool, half the “s” is an “outside pool,” with a Huge pool/patio area with lounge chairs and tables and a separated, Huge Fire pit, which is Connected to the other “s” shape of the pool, Indoors. They are just “divided,” at the top of the indoor pool’s Enclosed porch, with see through plastic!! There’s a big Hot-tub next to the “Indoor” side of the pool!! It’s Unbelievably Unique!! Very Clean!!!

We enjoyed our stay and were quite happy with the location of the hotel. Our two main negatives were: 1) No hot water in sink or shower 2) common areas like stairs and halls were a bit dirty. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. There was plenty of easy and safe parking. It was a very reasonable distance to get to Newport. I would consider staying here again.

Room was very clean and comfortable. WiFi was easy to connect to and use. Surroundings were quiet at night. Bed was very nice to get a good night’s sleep. Parking was convenient as there were numerous spots to park close to the entrance. We had one day of maid service, which was appropriate for our stay (4-nights). We liked the pump bottles of shampoo and body wash in our shower.

A very beautiful property and the room with fireplace and jacuzzi was cozy and romantic. Although we were unable to enjoy the jacuzzi due to it being out of order, the fireplace made up for it. The owners were very welcoming and we will definitely return when visiting Newport!

What an adorable inn! We stayed in the King with Jacuzzi tub and it was beyond clean, bright, comfy - my husband requested us to go back and ENJOY THE ROOM! It had a cute little balcony that you could see the ocean from. We can't wait to go back!

My husband and I celebrated our 45th anniversary this year and were so glad to stay at Rhea's Inn by the Sea for 2 nights. The room was clean and comfortable and included a jacuzzi and a small outdoor deck with table and chairs. It is only a short walk to many restaurants, the beach, and the Cliff Walk. The manager, Tony, is incredible gracious and helpful. We look forward to staying there again (we've already been before and just love it).

A lot of us, me included, have fallen out of the habit of staying in independent hotels that aren't cutesy tiny two-guest B n Bs. Rhea's is a classic small hotel in the model that you'll find in the UK or Europe - a few rooms each on a few floors, with continental breakfast. No bar or restaurant, no "fitness center," but a perfect location, thoughtful touches, and everything you need for a great stay. The place was spotlessly clean. I appreciated the daily housekeeping service (especially just having stayed in a major upmarket chain that neglected this entirely). The bed was huge and very comfortable. The bathroom was also huge and our room had a big jacuzzi tub. There was a little balcony with tables off a sliding patio door (we were on the second floor). As others have commented, a great thing about the breakfast items was that they were available all day. No rushing downstairs before breakfast closed, and you could grab a granola bar or bagel at other times if you were peckish. Five minute walk to the Easton beach, with its great view of the Cliff Walk mansions. Several restaurants, including Flo's Clam Shack, in the immediate, walkable area. Would definitely stay there again!

We absolutely adored our stay! We were so fortunate to have the ocean view room with terrace. We had an amazing time on this private terrace! We watched the sunrise in the early morning, sipped coffee, and admired the beautiful ocean waves during the day. And guess what? We even had a romantic champagne toast under the moonlight on the same terrace! The “Renaissance” room is absolutely breathtaking and charming. It truly lives up to its name. The spacious and comfortable bed, the beautifully appointed furniture, the elegant decor, the cozy fireplace, and the luxurious marble bathroom - it’s all just too much to take in. And let’s not forget the jacuzzi in the room - we definitely made the most of it!

My husband and I treated ourself to a return stay at the Chanler recently for our anniversary. Everything was wonderful, from the hand-written card and complimentary champagne that greeted our arrival to the friendly and professional front-desk and valet services. My husband and I stayed in the "Empire" room, which I think is one of the most beautiful, with views of both the ocean and the Chanler's gardens. (It is on the third floor, though, and the hotel lacks elevators, so be forewarned.) In addition to a luxurious Jacuzzi tub, it has the best shower I've ever experienced in a hotel (7 shower heads). My only complaint might be that I found the bed a bit too firm for my preference (marshmallow soft), but my husband loved it and slept soundly. Meals at Remy's Loose, the hotel's restaurant, were uniformly excellent.

This hotel far exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional—warm, genuine, and consistent throughout our stay. We spent more time at the property than we usually do because every dining experience was so memorable. The tasting menu at Cara was extraordinary—creative, delicious, with perfect service. Breakfast at Remy’s on the patio overlooking the water was another highlight, with attentive service that made it feel special. We also enjoyed evenings in the wine garden and a wonderful dinner at the bar, where Kevin kept the atmosphere lively and welcoming, even on a busy night. As guests, we always felt valued and cared for, which is rare these days. Our room was beautifully appointed with luxurious linens and every amenity we could want, making it as comfortable as it was elegant. The mansion setting on the Cliff Walk is stunning, but what truly sets this property apart is the combination of outstanding service and exceptional food and drink. It is a rare gem—beautiful, welcoming, and unforgettable.

This was an amazing experience! Exceptional property and service. Definitely a Five Star location, located along the famous Cliff Walk, right on the ocean! We stayed in the French Provincial room which had amazing ocean views. The room itself was flawless and beautiful, heated floors in the super large bathroom, everything was sparkling clean. We felt pampered from the moment we arrived until our departure. The staff was amazing, including Hannah, the maitre-de, to Craig, our on-staff driver, who took us into town. Everything was first-class, including breakfast with expert waitstaff, delicious food, and ocean views. We will be back!

The owner was very accommodating and gave us an excellent room. Very friendly staff. The room was charming and had a large Jacuzzi tub. And you can't beat the location. Will be staying again.

Cleveland House is in a perfect location and the price was reasonable. Our room was clean and coffee was available in the morning. Rick was very welcoming and a great source of information for what to do in Newport. Breakfast wasn’t included in the price of our room. We opted to purchase the breakfast one morning. The breakfast was convenient and delicious, but we will skip it on our next because of the price. We would recommend a stay there and will return.

This is our second time staying at this hotel and we had a blast. This is the best location in Newport ! It is only a half block away from “the Vanderbilt”, great restaurants, coffee shops and walking distance from the mansions. We walked to the breakers since it was an overly day. This is a charming quaint home owned and ran by locals. The rooms are clean, quiet, there is coffee and tea available throughout. We had breakfast on our previous stay and it was delicious. Best location, super charming home, perfect for a couple’s getaway in Newport ! Will definitely be back

Cleveland House is charming, & perfect location to walk all over Newport. Blocks to the warfs, Thames street , restaurants, Broadway, & lots of historic homes to see. Free parking. Rooms are small, clean & comfortable with minimal storage area…. Not great if you need space for big suitcases or work supplies. Shower was large & very nice, no counters or shelves for supplies. Good coffee in the breakfast area each morning. Perfect location priced well for the area, we would definitely stay again.

The location was great. It was up a few streets from the waterfront, so it was relatively quiet. We never used our car. We were able to walk everywhere. From the mansions to the wharfs. It is a fabulous weekend getaway. We enjoyed all the Christmas events happening, and the dining experiences were so fun! We were on the second floor. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The coffee bar was perfect, the coffee and the fixings were available. We brought our own tea and hot chocolate. A small refrigerator is provided. It was a code entrance. It was very easy to come and go. Bring your chargers. There are no usb plugs.

Karen was amazing! She went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful!! She provided information on things we could do and history on the house and the area. Suites were large, breakfast with granola bars & yogurt, fresh milk from the farm for coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice! Location was only 2 blocks from the wharfs and shopping. Would definitely stay again.

The location and proximity to the downtown area was phenomenal. Easy and safe walking distance to so many restaurants, shops, and areas of interest. The unit itself was very comfortable, charming and very clean. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to others.

Our room was in the building across the street from the main buildings. The views of the water were amazing! The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The short walk to restaurants and shopping made it the perfect location for our weekend getaway.

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at this resort and would definitely fo it again. All rooms look out at the harbor and Pell Bridge and the views are stunning at times. Check-in was great and the staff there are always so helpful and friendly. The unit itself is small but comfortable. Our one dislike is that you enter into the bedroom and have to walk through to get to the rest of the unit. You simply cannot beat the location, basically right in the heart of downtown Newport. Across the street is the main part of the resort where you can swim in a heated outdoor pool, lounge in the outdoor hot tub, or enjoy some hot apple cider in front of the fire pit. In the unit, the. bed was very comfortable, init was clean and modern. The kitchen has no dishwasher, oven, and only 2 burners, and a very small sink, but you manage. Our one real complaint was that we wanted to watch a football game on FOX and that channel is blacked out because of their arrangement with Dish TV or whatever they are using. If not for our Firestick, we would have missed the Championship game. Newport is truly a great small city and staying ehre helps you enjoy it.

Each of the staff members we dealt with or encountered were so very nice, the gentleman at the desk when we checked in, the employee just coming into work running to catch up to me in the parking lot to open the door for me, the woman at the desk when I needed to ask a question about parking my husband’s truck, the two staff members who replied to my text messages asking about the ice machine and requesting ice to be brought up, and the cleaning woman who greeted me in the morning when we saw each other in the hall. I came to Newport for the third year for the RI AA Convention which is held at the Newport Marriot every February and they have a block of rooms at a discounted rate which I used the previous two years. My husband and I tried Club Wyndham on Long Wharf on a whim this year after finding and booking it on Expedia. We LOVED staying there! The key feature that got us was the kitchenette as I have dietary restrictions so bring my own food. We decided we are going to stay here from now on for my future conventions. The view was breathtaking, right on the water! The staff as I mentioned was wonderful. The property was well maintained and the room was clean, cozy, convenient and the price was reasonable. Next year we may even come a day early so we can enjoy some time in the pools!

Although the building isn’t impressive at first glance, the unit was really nice and well-appointed. All the necessary items were in the kitchen, including knives you could actually cut with - a rarity at any rental - and nice glassware. Lovely view of the marina from the living/sitting area, and perfect sunsets every evening. The bed was comfortable and there is plenty of storage for belongings. Another reviewer mentioned the air conditioner is located in the living area which makes it a challenge to regulate the temperature in the bedroom, which I agree with. We had a few minor issues which were handled promptly: the toilet wasn’t flushing properly immediately after we arrived (and hadn’t put anything in it), someone was there to take care of it quickly. The other issue was the shower, which I didn’t report but probably should have. The handle to switch the water from tub to shower didn’t seem to be working well - the shower came out as a very weak trickle which wasn’t a great experience. Other than those two things, we had a great stay and I would definitely stay here again.

Overall, our stay here was good. It was a good value for the $167/night we paid. Would I pay much more than that for it? Probably not. Our room had been somewhat recently updated, although it was in a "lipstick on a pig" sort of way. From a distance it seemed nice, but up close there are signs of wear. We stayed on the top floor and it was extremely noisy on one particularly windy night. The other two nights were pretty quiet. Definitely recommend bringing ear plugs just in case. There are limited spots in the parking lot and not once were we able to park at the Inn of the 3 nights we stayed there. We had to park across the street at the main Club Wyndham building. It's not far, but it was a little inconvenient. It was not clear from our Hotels.com confirmation that, regardless of what time you arrive, you have to check in at the main Club Wyndham building across the street. There is no front desk or on-site staff at the Inn itself, everything is located across the street at the main building. Signage indicating that is evident upon arrival, but it would have been nice to know ahead of time to avoid confusion. The kitchen is extremely well stocked and the appliances were in good working condition, so if you need the suite for that kind of use I feel it would be a great value. There's no on-site restaurant but there are many within walking distance. Pros: inexpensive, free parking, walkable, pretty clean, friendly staff, great views, full kitchen/living room.

We stayed a couple of days in this wonderful resort. Everything was perfect, impeccable service both in the restaurants and in the room. We stayed in the beach cottage and it was an unforgettable experience, perfect location directly on the private and very quiet beach. We enjoyed breakfast served in the room, while we had dinner at The Lawn restaurant. Stunning view, tasty food, attentive and friendly service. We hope to be able to return soon to be pampered again in this paradise!

Our second stay and third time in the area. It is a beautiful location with amazing views of the inlet and ocean from the bar and patio. We have had a room in the main building both times we have stayed there. Our room this time was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom has been redone and was beautiful. There can sometimes be sound from the lighthouse foghorn at night. They will provide a white noise machine on request. Staff were welcoming and accommodating in every aspect of our stay. We ate breakfast and lunch in the atrium. Dinner was outside on the patio. Food and service were all very good. The dinner/lunch menus could be a bit longer. They will provide blankets on the patio, which were necessary when we were there when the sun was going down and the breeze picked up. The only minor negative is the lack of any indoor fitness facilities and a pool (for those who don’t want to swim in the Atlantic Ocean).

Staff was extremely helpful, kind, professional and friendly, from check-in, to dinner/breakfast, to beach facilities, valet parking and in any kind of interaction. Location and premises are wonderful. Great dinner and breakfast. Pricey but definitely worth - we´ll be back!

Incredible first time experience at CHI. I appreciated the questionnaire before arrival and all the small notes staff made based on our arrival. It made us feel welcome immediately. Staff was warm and always conversational, always on call to answer any questions we had. We stayed in the Master Room and loved how spacious it was, particularly with its large entrance way. Drinks at the Terrace Bar were delicious and the complimentary breakfast (which could also be taken in-room) was out of this world. Daily turn down service was immaculate. The grounds were lovely to walk on the warmer days :) Thank you so much CHI for making my partners birthday weekend feel extra celebratory, romantic, and special. We cannot wait to return!

The breakfast is very good, all you can eat but cook just for you. The portions are generous. The staff are very professional and friendly. The front desk staff and parking attendants are more than helpful and friendly. Our room looks out north toward Newport Bridge. It is beautiful day and night. The view from the outdoor sitting area is just fantastic, especially in the evening when the sun is setting. We are fascinated by the namesake lighthouse. All in all, a fabulous experience.

I loved the in room jacuzzi and the view from conservatory. This isn’t your usual lodge. It’s a Victorian B&B right next to the mansions and harbor views. Heidi was nothing but an amazing host during my stay!!

This place is a great little spot. The house is a cute, bed and breakfast style, throwback into nostalgia. Check in was a breeze. The room was comfortable. Bed and pillows were perfect. Jacuzzi tub next to a fireplace was perfect after a night in drizzly weather. The location is a stones throw away from Thames St. There's a breakfast room with a decent view of the marina and bridge (though we didn't partake in the offered breakfast). Would 100% recommend this place.

My stay was very comfortable. I opted for the Estella suite. It's nice sitting in the jacuzzi tub while looking at the gas fireplace. The tub is very large, enough room for two and I'm 6'3'. The bed was very comfortable. Heidi was great. She was filled with great suggestions for restaurants and things to do. She even shared a few interesting stories historic to Newport. Being able to walk to many great shops and restaurants was a huge plus.

This bed and breakfast is simply amazing!!! Where do I start? The manager, Heidi, is a joy and so nice. She was lovely as she got us checked in and gave us a lot of great suggestions for things to do and where to eat. Similarly, Eileen, who makes breakfast in the morning, was also so nice! The staff really made this feel more like a home than a hotel. I absolutely loved chatting with them! The bed and breakfast is located in what is, in my opinion, a perfect area. It's just a bit out of the way of all the hustle and bustle of Thames Street, but walking there is a breeze. You can get to most of the bars and restaurants within 15 minutes. It's also located close to the mansions! The Elms is practically right outside the door, and The Breakers is only a 15 minute walk away. I loved the central location! The bed was so comfortable as well, and we really enjoyed sitting up in the conservatory after we returned, where Heidi leaves a bottle of wine for guests to enjoy after sunset.

Great location! I enjoyed the heated pool that are available during the cold months. The hotel was very clean and the staff was very nice. The room was specious. Loved the hotub in the room.

We came upon the Chart inn by chance and I have to say we are elated that we did. This place is just wonderful, so welcoming, homely, beautiful inside and out. Firstly, the rooms, great size, beautiful decor, huge comfy bed, fridge filled with soft drinks, lots of snacks and lots of information leaflets about the area. The breakfast- Amazing- all home made, great selection, lots of little extras thrown in, charming dining room and the most charming staff (Cathy) you could meet. Bathrooms- huge with large bath and large walk in shower Public rooms, the public room is beautifully decorated with comfortable sofas, lovely feel to the room , lots of board games to use, background music, the smell of home cooking, oh just amazing. Parking- perfect, lots of room, off street , behind the hotel. Location- very close to the center of Newport, 5 mins walk from the bars and restaurants The staff- professional, super friendly, very helpful, very knowledgeable of the area and just such nice folks Recommend- I just can’t recommend it enough, best nights sleep in years, a home from home and a place we will use again many times. Don’t miss out on this place, it has everything.

This Inn is pure heaven. Perfect location. Incredibly comfortable bed. Room was spacious and so tastefully decorated. Bathroom was huge and the shower too. Great amenities. The piece de résistance though is the breakfast! Proprietor Chris (aka Bender) serves a fabulous breakfast that includes a breakfast charcuterie plate that includes caramelized pineapple and grapefruit, biscuits that float off the serving plate amongst other delights. Avocado toast, quiche and a breakfast sandwich which is killer are among the entrees. His overnight oats are fab! Owner Nicole is amazing. Every detail is attended to. Every recommendation was spot on. We stayed an extra night in this delightful town because of these delightful people and their home away from home.

The Chart House Inn truly made my bachelorette weekend amazing! The InnKeeper, Margaret was so accommodating and friendly. She did so much for us, including packing our breakfast in coolers so we could take it on boat. Her thoughtful touches did not go unnoticed. The location of the Inn could not be better. It is walkable to everything which is important in Newport since Ubers/Lyfts are hard to come by. Margaret helped us reach Orange Cab to drive girls to the airport on time (life savor). It is a perfect set up for a bachelorette or family reunion with 3 floors, common areas, and multiple bathrooms. Everything was clean and tidy on arrival. Breakfast was delicious! I can not say enough about this place. It truly is wonderful. Thank you so much Margaret for everything!

Very peaceful, clean and comfortable...The inn was walkable to the harbor, shopping and dining. We just wish they had breakfast. We thought breakfast was included but found out before we got there that they don't serve breakfast during the week. There were breakfast options close by.

Due to a change of plans, I planned our trip to Newport kind of last minute and was worried about finding an affordable place to stay. I quite literally found Chart House by google mapping the area and searching 'hotels' to scan prices. I saw Chart House, looked at the website kind of briefly and booked it. When I tell you I was FLOORED at how gorgeous the property and room were. The building itself is beautiful and historic feeling. We had a parking spot that came in clutch as a boat show was going on. We stayed in the Jane Pickens suite. It is massive, has it's own sunroom, a huge bathroom area with a rainfall shower set up. It was so comfortable it made it hard to leave the room to go do things around town. Not to mention we had a complimentary breakfast everyday, and this is not a holiday inn style buffet, it was made to order absolutely delicious breakfast. Aside from the property itself, it is within walking distance to everything we wanted to see and do. 5 mins to Bowen's Warf, just a few blocks from Thames St. We even walked the 15/20 mins to Easton Beach and the start of the Cliff Walk (but ubered back at the end bc we were wiped from the walk itself). Our host Nicole was so accommodating and sweet. I have not been able to stop talking about the Chart House Inn to everyone who has asked about our trip. I cannot wait to come back and I wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else on our next visit.

This was the definition of a perfect stay. The Inn is located in walking distance to everything you need and has a parking spot for cars which is super convenient. The whole house is super cozy and tastefully decorated and the rooms are spacious, comfortable and very clean! The included breakfast is out of this world - SO GOOD!! And the staff is super kind and attentive. The coffee/tea bar and community fridge is a bonus as well. Everything about my stay here was absolutely perfect and I loved every second of it. Feels like a home away from home. Probably my favorite hotel/Inn experience EVER.

I loved everything about this property from the amazing room and how clean and comfortable everything was, how accessible the property was to anything you would want to see or do in Newport, it had on-site parking, and the outside seating areas were cozy and beautifully maintained. The breakfast was delicious and they accommodated my celiacs and need for gluten free food with delicious substitutes. The inn keeper and staff were also so helpful and friendly.

The Inn is amazing, we stayed in Room 3 and everything was super clean and comfortable. The staff was so friendly and welcoming and gave us so many recommendations and anytime we wanted a lunch or dinner recommendations they didn’t hesitate to give us a ton. The shower was huge and water pressure was nice. Bed was comfortable and spacious. Parking was free and definitely helped and the Inn is walking distance to everything downtown.

The breakfast each day was ample and delicious, with plenty of coffee, juices and fresh fruit available. The service was prompt and the dining room very comfortable. The updated rooms were nicely decorated, bedding was comfortable, the shower was nicely sized and I always appreciate separate heating in the bathroom to keep it cozy coming out of the shower.

We absolutely loved this property and will definitely come back. Ashley was the most welcoming of hosts and the standard of the accomodation and furnishings in the room was exceptional. The bed is probably the most comfortable hotel bed we have ever slept in and we have travelled extensively! The location is perfect and only 5 mins walk to the wharves and the Main Street with lots of great bars and restaurants. The breakfast was wonderful and fresh and overall would highly recommend this property if you are ever in Newport!

We had a really wonderful stay at the Marshall Slocum Inn this November! The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and extremely comfortable. The location was perfect with easy walking distance to Newport harbour as well as the bars & restaurants on the way. The staff were really welcoming and helpful making the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Newport and we'd love to come back one day!

My wife and I have just returned from a two centre holiday in the USA. The first 5 nights we stayed at the Marshall Slocum Inn, 29 Kay Street, Newport, Rhode Island. This is a delightful family run guest house which is within walking distance of all Newport's main attractions (shops, restaurants, the harbour etc) and yet it is set in a quiet residential area. We received a really warm welcome on our arrival and that hospitality continued throughout our stay by the owner and his staff who were really friendly and helpful. We stayed in the Rose Room which is located on the top floor. We selected this room because we wanted a super king size bed which was really comfortable. The room itself was possibly smaller than some of the others but perfectly adequate for what we wanted. There are no tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms but every morning there was fresh coffee and hot water available in the lobby along with pastries which you could help yourself to. I cannot recommend this accommodation enough. It is full of New England charm and character. This was our first visit to Newport and we just loved it.

We stayed here for a visit to Newport and the location of the Marshall Slocum is excellent. Walk down the hill to the harbour, or turn left and its a 2 mile walk to the Cliff Walk and the mansions. We were in the Cottage in the grounds, which was well equipped and roomy enough for the stay. Buffet breakfast was just right, with fruit, yogurts, tea, coffee and delicious pastries. The owners were on hand and very helpful with guidance and local travel info. Outdoor covered sitting area for the evenings and lounges, communal dining table (mainly used at breakfast). Absolutely perfect for Newport and as a boutique hotel, is better priced than the larger ones further along the road. The Marshall Slocum is situated amongst the historic (Victorian) houses in town, so not only convenient tto move around, but also in a pretty part of Newport.

We stayed in the cottage which is a delightfully quiet room in the garden. A four poster bed en suite with tea and coffee making facilities. Fresh pastries are provided for breakfast in the main house where the various residents exchange their stories. The hotel is a short walk from Bellvue which provides a little eatery called 'Picnic' and the various golden age mansions. we can also recommend Annie's and Mozz. The Harbour is a short walk away and provides many exceptional restaurants including the Mooring, 22b, and many more. The owner is a wonderful friendly and helpful young man and we cannot recommend this place highly enough.

The location is great, on a beautiful street with an easy walk to stores, restaurants and sites. The staff recommends places for you if you have any questions. Coffee made with warm croissants and sweets if you prefer were in the dining area each morning. Filtered water is available also. I would 100% chose this Inn to stay in again and again. Disliked · Only issue was the water pressure in the shower isn't great, but overall, it would not stop me from coming back.
