Absolutely loved this accommodation! Art Deco, stylish, abundance in the details, I would come back to this hotel every time. It's centrality to the heart of Oslo, accessibility to anywhere you need to go. The design was welcoming, cool and warm at the same time. The heated floors were a cherry on top of a delicious treat. The *only* bit of feedback - the provided 'slippers' in the room (I appreciate that they had them at all, period!) were flip flops, not slippers. This is helpful if you are making your way to the pool I suppose, but don't serve as comfortable 'house shoes'. The breakfast!! I can see why people come to the hotel just for breakfast - it did not disappoint and was no joke - exotic fruits? Homemade smoothies? incredible. Live jazz?! Delicious food and friendly staff. Everyone was so helpful and accommodating!

We had an amazing experience at this hotel. Everything was well thought, there is still and sparkling water that tasted like tve best water on earth on tab on each floor. The shower was wonderful. I can’t explain how comfortable the bed, sheets and pillows were. Downstairs restaurant is elegant, in our stay breakfast was included and I highly recommend it. Location is also great. There is an entrance to the train station only a block away which was very convenient. Everywhere is walkable. We did not have time for the spa or rooftop restaurant but we heard excellent things. We will be back for a longer stay!!

The room was amazing: spacious, clean, comfortable. The art deco theming was beautiful. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was powerful. Access to the pool, plunge, and saunas free of charge was a great addition. The location was also really good; it's a short walk to the royal palace and the harbour. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Incredible hotel, beautiful decor, spacious and comfortable rooms. The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere with live jazz and great service. The spa staff were so helpful and my husband’s deep tissue massage was perfect. The rooftop pool and spa are a must. Breakfast is plentiful, fresh and delicious. It has great connections to the centre and the airport transport links.

Our stay at this Home Hotel in Oslo was exceptional. The location was perfect - a short walk from the central train station. The public areas were very comfortable - the lobby had lots of seating, had tea, hot chocolate, and coffee available all day and night. The breakfast room became a restaurant in the evening, so the fika and dinner meal were on the upper floor. There was a large living space above the meal room with books and other activities available, as well as a terrace you could go and sit on in the fresh air. Having fika and dinner included with the stay was very convenient - and the meals had good variety and plenty of fresh and high quality food. Breakfasts had a large selection of choices - all fresh and beautifully displayed. The room we had was large with lots of mobility, although we understand many of the rooms were tighter. The shower was excellent, as well as the size of the bathroom. The bed was comfortable and large. We would like to especially note the staff as exceptional. Dag and Marianella at the front desk were very helpful with information and ideas and we enjoyed their greetings when returning to the hotel. It made our weeklong stay a pleasant one. Nina, who assisted in serving the fika and evening meal was very pleasant and helpful, and Giboa in the breakfast room was very personable and efficient. This hotel helped make our stay in Oslo a memorable one!

We had a wonderful stay at the Home Hotel Folketeateret. The staff were very friendly and helpful from the moment we checked in to the moment that we left. The location of the hotel was superb. It was a five minute walk to Oslo Central Station and the hotel was situated in the centre of the city. There was a tram stop right outside the hotel, and trams 12 and 15 stopped there. However, many famous sites such as the stunning Oslo Opera House are within easy walking distance from the hotel. The hotel was situated in a beautiful historic building. The room was very clean, warm and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was exceptional in terms of quality and choice of food and was served in a lovely space. There was also a very tasty evening complimentary buffet with a good choice of tasty food including soup and salads and a hot main dish. There was also complimentary coffee and cake in the afternoon. We would love to stay at this hotel the next time we visit the beautiful city of Oslo!

My wife, 21-yr old daughter and I visited Oslo from the UK for a 2 night stay to attend the Oya music festival. We chose a duplex suite at this hotel (with a big double bed on a mezzanine floor & a double sofa bed in the lounge below) as it meant all 3 of us could share a room but could also would still afford some privacy. The price difference between a suite and a standard room was not particularly significant (booked through Expedia, incl. flights with SAS from LHR) This worked a treat, the suite was excellent. Only slight issue was the shower struggled to regulate its temperature. Location was spot-on (festival was walkable as were all the main sights), right in the heart of Oslo. The excellent Himkok cocktail bar was just around the corner too. Breakfast was buffet-style but was very plentiful and great quality with lots of variety. Staff were always friendly and attentive. There was also complimentary fika (afternoon cake and coffee) which was a nice touch and a free dinner buffet, tho we didn’t make use of this last option as we had other plans. Overall this was an excellent find and we would choose without hesitation if/when we visit Oslo again

Upon arrival from the UK Dag checked us in and despite us being many hours earlier than the check in time he managed to find us 3 rooms together. The reception area is very inviting and the complimentary tea, coffee and hot chocolate available constantly which is great as there are no tea making facilities in the room which apparently will be implemented this year. The rooms were very clean and the three we had on level 4 were all different. The beds were very comfy like sleeping on a cloud. We were there for four nights and there is no housekeeping however you can always request clean towels, loo roll etc from reception who all were always very friendly. The only tiny gripe with the room was there are no drawers but there is hanging space. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice, Tea and fika available 3-5pm every day on level 7. A complimentary dinner is also served on level 7 between 6pm and 8pm. This consisted of soup, bread, focaccia etc, various different salads and a main course. Svitlana was always very friendly and helpful. We had an amazing time in beautiful Oslo and would highly recommend staying here.

The location is very appropriate - less than 10 minutes from the train and bus station, and only a few minutes from the main streets. It is actually inside the small shopping area and the cinema. During the night hours it is guarded and you can access only as a hotel guest. The breakfast was amazing, there was literally something for everyone, lots of cooked, warm meals and specific Scandinavian types of food. We also enjoyed the complementary dinner, which had few options, but quite enough. You could have it at the roof terrace or bar, which is another eating place - different than the main restaurant where the breakfast is served. That one is also very comfortable and provides very warm atmosphere. The hotel also offers free coffee (from the machine, which is rare for the other hotels). The staff was very polite and helpful. The price we paid was very convinient, especiallly considering all the aspects from above.

The breakfast was outstanding! All of the staff was friendly and competent. The hotel is beautiful and clean with amazing bathrooms. The only negative is the minibar and food left on top. It is not FREE and there is nothing to indicate that. So if you want a bottle of water beware that it costs $6 USD. At the main door everyone was very friendly,in particular Hubert. Couldn’t have more helpful. The bar area is lovely and a nice stopping place after a long day of sightseeing. Maria was a welcoming and helpful addition to breakfast every morning. Christopher the manager was very helpful and accommodating with a problem.

Walking distance to City Hall, the Parliament, National Theatre, and the best restaurants in Oslo, Hotel Continental is the perfect way to experience the capital city for the first time. There are groceries, convenience stores and restaurants around every corner along with souvenir shops and general shopping surrounding the hotel as well. The rooms were clean and spacious and the beds were some of the most comfortable I’ve experienced. The breakfast buffet was good and staff was generally friendly and responsive. There was an issue with a tour I booked for my family through the hotel so make sure you get written confirm of your request and itinerary. That hiccup aside, I enjoyed our stay at Hotel Continental and would recommend it for first time visitors to Oslo.

We were met by a friendly staff, which was a very nice start to the weekend. They were helpful and provided all the necessary information. The room was clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was also spotless. There was no noise during the nights, which made for a good rest. Breakfast was very good, with attentive staff and tasty food. Checking out was smooth, and we were able to leave our luggage at the hotel to pick up later, which was very convenient. Overall, it was a great experience. This is now our new favorite hotel, and we will definitely be coming back for more stays.

Great stay at Hotel Continental. Professional, friendly service from assistance with luggage, restaurant suggestions and easy check in. Room was Great!! Clean, comfortable bed and spacious. Restaurant in hotel and breakfast in hotel was top notch with buffet as well as included menu ordering. Parking was easy and i would highly recommend and would stay again when in Oslo.

We stayed two nights at the end of a fjord cruise in late June. We arrived in time for the last day of Pride, which was great fun. The beautiful weather combined with the party atmosphere made it a memorable day to wander the city. The front desk staff recommended excellent restaurants and helped us narrow down how to best see Oslo in such a short stay. His recommendations were spot on. The central location made it easy to get the hop on/hop off bus and also walk to many attractions and good eating. Our room was well appointed, clean and very comfortable. The selection of foods at breakfast each morning was terrific and the pastry was amazing. We would happily stay here again in the future.

We stayed five nights at Amerikalinjen, and we can’t imagine staying at any other hotel in Oslo. The location is perfect: just across from the central square; at the heart of the city’s transportation hub; a stone’s throw from the harbor, Opera House and Munch Museum; just at the base of Karl Johan’s Gate; and near many great restaurants and shops. We requested a deluxe room on an upper floor with a view out over the central square. Our sixth floor room was spacious and well-appointed. We had a king bed, a large bathroom with a great shower, a closet, desk, lots of drawers and shelves, a bench that held both our suitcases, a sitting area with two chairs and a table, as well as an in-room coffee maker. As a bonus, with the window open, we had a view of the Opera House and waterfront. It was fun to watch the action in the square outside, but there was virtually no noise from below. The hotel exudes old world charm, but with all the modern amenities. The breakfast buffet and ala carte selections (included) were superb. I overate every day, but I also used the nice gym several times. Without exception, the staff were friendly and helpful, and they made you feel at home. If you’re planning a visit, call or email them and let them know what you want. They will take good care of you.

This is a beautiful hotel in a unique historic building. Rooms are reasonably large by European standards, and well-appointed. The lighting in the rooms is excellent -- lots of lights, and lots of control, for a very nice atmosphere. The bathrooms are well-finished and spacious. The room was very clean, as well. Staff were friendly and helpful. Bar and restaurant staff were attentive and informative. The food in the restaurant was excellent, and the breakfast was outstanding. They'll recommend that you book a time for breakfast; it's a good idea as the restaurant and buffet can get quite crowded. The gym is small but well-appointed with good free weights and several machines, as well as several cardio machines.

One block from the central train station and right at the beginning of Karl Johans Gate, the location is super convenient to everything. The room was very comfortable and the shower was enormous. Comfortable bed, my only complaint is tje room gets pretty warm during the night. Great breakfast buffet. A full breakfast with made to order eggs if you choose. We ate dinner at the restaurant and the food was very good, although quite pricey. Also had drinks in the bar area and the service was excellent. They have a special spritz they make and my wife really enjoy it. The drink looked like an early morning with fog. If I travel to Oslo again, I would definitely stay here.

I was a solo 60 yrold male American tourist in Oslo for the first time for 4 nights. I can't imagine a better hotel to choose. The location is perfect, next to central station and walkable to the opera house and waterfront. The room was clean, nice and comfy, shower was amazing. Breakfast was really great each morning, the bar is nice and alive in the evenings. All staff I interacted with were friendly and helpful. Fantastic hotel and experience, highly recommended.

On every level, this is a standout hotel! To start, it's located a short walk from the Central Train Station, making it convenient for travel to/from the airport and other Norwegian cities. The staff is exceptional - helpful, knowledgeable and fluent in English. When I told the front desk person that we had to leave early to catch the 5:40 am train to the airport, she said the hotel would prepare a takeout breakfast for us. That breakfast included juice, fruit, cookies, a veggie bagel for me and a smoked salmon bagel for my husband, utensils and napkins. Our room had a comfortable king size bed and beautiful bathroom with large towels and bathrobes. As someone who has to go to the bathroom during the night, I so appreciated the light that goes on automatically under the sink. Breakfast is exceptional, with considerable variety and high quality choices. Lastly, we enjoyed drinks at the bar expertly prepared by a bartender who is actually a Greek doctor. If you want a superbly staffed and located hotel in Oslo, look no further than the Amerikalinjen.

I stayed at the hotel for one night during a business trip and was thoroughly impressed. From the moment I arrived, the experience was smooth and professional. Check-in was quick and efficient, and the receptionist was exceptionally friendly and welcoming, which set a great tone for the stay. The room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped—perfect for relaxing after a long day. The bed was comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was quiet and restful, ideal for a good night’s sleep. Breakfast the next morning offered everything you’d expect: a good selection of both hot and cold options, fresh coffee, and a pleasant dining area. It was a great way to start the day. We also used the hotel's conference facilities, which were well-organized and fully equipped for our needs. The staff managing the conference area were very helpful and made sure everything ran smoothly. Overall, a great hotel for business travelers—efficient service, comfortable rooms, and excellent staff. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Pros: - very friendly staff ( warm and friendly welcome; attentive staff in the breakfast restaurant) - stylish hotel with clean rooms - outstanding breakfast! Never had such a breakfast in a hotel: you won‘t miss anything!!! Lots of choices from fresh fish, several cheeses, bread, warm dishes, sweats, smoothies, vitamin shots, fruits etc - even gluten free cakes. Sufficient tables for all the guests. - parking garage - close to the Storo Center (shopping center) - close to metro, bus and tram station - we stayed three consecutive nights and did not hear any other guests Cons: - definitely nothing!

Fabulous stay at Hotel Thon Storo. I found it to be clean, quiet, friendly and the breakfast buffet was ample and delicious. Very comfortable and welcoming, and with so many public transportation options nearby, very easy to get anywhere quickly especially with the Ruter app. Would recommend!!

Spacious, quiet and clean room. Shower is very convenient. Very good breakfast with huge variety of options. Friendly staff. There is a closed public parking garage with electric changers underneath the building. Had ample room during our stay (end of August), but it does cost money, both the parking and the charging. And a little expensive, but I guess this is Norway. Parking and charging is convenient with apps automating the process and payment.

All tastefully decorated for Christmas! Received a very warm welcome from the reception staff. They also dealt with queries about the safe, coffee machine and Oslo Pass. The hotel room was large, bright, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was of a very good quality and there was always somewhere nice to sit with enough space between all the tables, making it a relaxing way to gradually wake up! The hotel was very convenient for the metro and tram - only a short walk away. We did not feel too far from the centre or the other neighbourhood districts where we had planned activities and meals out. Checking out was done in a flash but I was very sorry to have to leave!

An absolutely perfect hotel--if there's something missing, we couldn't find it. Breakfast is served in an elegant restaurant, and you won't find better selection, deliciously prepared, anywhere. Decor is true to the hotel's era--original chandeliers and a nod to Moorish architecture, yet not stuffy or over the top. Vinterhaven is a lovely space for lunch, drinks or afternoon tea, and the Bibliotekbaren/Library bar is a gracious space to spend quiet time. For a livelier atmosphere, the Bristol Pub is next door for burgers and fries. The reception staff and concierge are friendly, welcoming and eager to help. Rooms are spotless, spacious and well equipped with adequate storage, comfortable bedding and several English stations on the television. There is good light for reading. The bathroom had a tub (with a grab bar for safety) and separate rainhead shower with a hand-held spray; L'Occitane toiletries, bathrobes/slippers, magnifying mirror, everything a guest could want to be comfortable away from home. The Bristol is a short walk from two train stations, shopping, restaurants on Karl Johan Gate; within about twenty minutes' walk, you can find the Nobel Museum, Aker Brygge, the Munch Museum, the National Museum and the Opera House. There is a fitness room, and plans for a spa. Vigelund Park is a short bus ride away. We were sad to leave this beautiful hotel, and highly recommend the Bristol as the choice for your stay in Oslo.

From the moment we arrived until our departure 3 nights later the Bristol and staff were wonderful! Our receptionist Una greeted us and recommended a restaurant, close to the Opera House and Sauna Islands by the harbor which was lovely. Along the way saw lots of Oslo. From hotel we were able to walk everywhere. Our room was excellent, great shower, air conditioning, (was hot out), a Nespresso machine and we were lucky to have a balcony where we enjoyed a morning coffee. The breakfast buffet was delicious and fresh, and hotel ambience welcoming and friendly. Would definitely go back. Oh! And because our flight was so early, we were leaving at 4:30 a.m., the hotel prepared a bag breakfast for us to take with us in the taxi! So thoughtful! The train station has a direct airport route which is much cheaper than a taxi but due to early a.m. departure we were reluctant to walk to station. Should have booked a later flight! Anyway, cannot say enough about the Bristol hotel! Loved it!

Enjoyed a couple of days at Hotel Bristol, an elegant old fashioned luxury hotel. Location very convenient in central Oslo. Easy walking distance to all those local sites. Staff very friendly and helpful. Single room was small but comfortable. Bathroom was VERY compact but it worked okay. Lobby bar had good cakes along with coffee (and other drinks). Restaurant was excellent for supper. And breakfast was fantastic!! Two full rooms full of choices with freshness obvious. WiFi worked well.

This is like a little piece of London in the middle of Oslo. When you arrive at The Bristol, they park your car for you in the Hotels garage. This time the garage was under renovation, and I was disappoint that the hotel didn’t have any other solution. The check in went as always perfectly, with helpful and serviceminded staff. The whole vibe of the hotel gives you a feeling of old fashioned London, and it feels like escaping from the modern world. The rooms are amazing, good size, clean and beautiful. The only thing I am disappointed of is that it’s not possible to order a room with an extra bed for a child. If we travel with our child on 8, we need to have two rooms. That is both inconvenient and unnecessary and I hope the hotel can consider that in the future. The breakfast is the best I have ever got in a hotel, with so good quality and high standard. The breakfast staff could be more welcoming and smile more, but the quality of the food overcomes everything. The lunch in the wintergarden is something I never miss out on when I visit, the sandwiches are perfect. The feeling of sitting there brings you again back to old London. Thank you for an amazing hotel which we always travel back to, we look forward to the next visit, and hope we can bring the kids in the same room as us.

His recommendations were spot-on, his support was thoughtful and proactive, and his warm, professional demeanor made us feel genuinely cared for. The room was comfortable the bed and the toiletries were of quality. The breakfast offered a wide variety of fresh and flavorful options - really good! This hotel combines luxury, comfort, and top-tier service in the best possible way. We can’t wait to return!

Really modern and clean hotel. Check-in was simple and quick. The room was lovely and clean. The beds were like sleeping on a cloud, so comfortable. The bathroom had an option of rainfall shower or normal shower and shampoo & conditioner were provided. I'm pretty sure it had underfloor heating. The rooftop bar is nice with a lovely view out to sea. We ate in the restaurant and the food was lovely. Special thanks to our lovely waitress Julita, who was very friendly and helpful. We took a Bolt taxi into Oslo due to it raining and it only cost about £13. Only small downside which to be fair the hotel can't do much about is the building work outside which woke us at 8am every morning. Lovely hotel with friendly staff.

Exceptional, new, clean, modern and quiet. Modern technology, like heated bathroom floor, touch sensitive switches. Lots of indirect lighting. Room good size, beds super comfortable. Large high quality towels. Blazing fast wifi. Great breakfast selection. Very helpful and friendly staff. All for a very reasonable price. Great value

I stayed at the Radisson RED Oslo Økern and was very satisfied overall. The room was modern, quiet, and well-equipped—perfect for both work and relaxation. I especially appreciated how easy it was to make the room completely dark for a good night’s sleep. The TV had a wide selection of local and international channels, and the amenities (shampoo, etc.) were high quality—great if you're traveling light. The rooftop has a beautiful view and is a great spot to relax. During a busy lunchtime when it was full, the staff went above and beyond by bringing in extra tables to accommodate guests—excellent service. The cocktails were also top-notch. Staff were friendly and very helpful throughout the stay. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide selection of both hot and cold items. I really liked that every table had a pot of black coffee ready, with the option to get specialty coffee from the machine as well.

A very warm welcome at the reception and a very professional check-in process. In general, all the staff are very friendly. Very nice, modern room, very comfortable bed and a very clean, well-equipped bathroom. Excellent breakfast buffet with a fantastic selection. Great rooftop hotel bar for an evening drink. The hotel is located a bit out of the way in a residential area, but Oslo city center can be reached in about 15 minutes by metro, two nearby stations are close to the hotel. There are also some nice restaurants and pubs near the hotel. The bus to the airport stops right on the street not far from the hotel.

Very modern, clean, comfortable and good proximity to where we wanted to be. The bed was super comfy, like sleeping in a marshmallow. The coffee pod machine was a really nice touch! Shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, bodycream and shower gel all included. That bed though!! So comfortable (and we usually like a firm mattress, but this was luxury)

Great hotel central to public transportation and visiting the sites of Oslo. We took train into Oslo from airport and then about 0.5 walk to hotel or can take train couple stops past central station, but still few blocks walk. The buffet breakfast was the best breakfast of our entire trip! There is a nice reception/gathering area on another floor, where guests can take drinks and enjoy afternoon/evening time outside one’s room or the lobby area. There is coffee/tea and light snack available. Maria and Maria at the front desk were very helpful in providing information regarding the public transportation and where to purchase the passes. We opted for the one day transportation pass which was easy to use, including ferry around the fjord and island areas. Public transportation is very easy to use. There are bars across the street and restaurants/bars within 2 blocks from the main thoroughfare, Karl Johans Gate. Perfect location for trip to Oslo.

The hotel was within easy walking distance to most of Oslo's sights with plenty of bars and restaurants close by. The check-in staff were extremely accommodating and friendly and willing to assist with luggage during our stay and with storage. The room was exceptionally spacious and light filled and included all the amenities one could need. The beds were very comfortable and the decor in the rooms colourful and fun. The breakfast served was outstanding - so much choice and all of it beautifully presented. The staff here were also friendly and helpful. Overall, a hotel which stands out as offering that little bit extra to your stay.

We stayed at 15 hotels over 19 days of travel. The Thon Rosenkrantz was our final stop and was the best of the trip. Room was efficient and well appointed. Breakfast was the best on the trip. Staff was exceptionally helpful - pointing out local restaurants and connections to busses, etc. They checked us in early, were 100% friendly and all seemed genuinely happy to have us staying in their hotel. The restaurant had excellent Italian food for dinner - try the eggplant with prosciutto. Persian restaurant is only 5 minute walk away - great food and friendly service.

The location was excellent, within easy walking distance to the harbor, bars, and restaurants. Our upgraded room was spacious. The breakfast was excellent, offering an extensive selection of delicious food. The 8th floor lounge had a great view and offered coffee & tea. it would have been nice if wine was available.

The breakfast buffet was amazing - so many options and all delicious. Staff were super friendly and really helpful. The rooms are spacious and very clean. Use of the gym and lounge facilities are great.

For our last night in Norway, I knew we booked something fancy but I did not know it would be this fancy! Wonderful and friendly welcome and added bonus, room upgrade :) Spacious, deluxe room with a great bed, sitting area with comfy sofa, desk area, large bathroom and a balcony with great sunset views. Dinner was a joyful experience in a room with views of treetops and the horizon. The service was friendly and our meal and drinks tasty. After a good nights sleep we enjoyed a superb breakfast. Once again in a room that again provided beautiful views and so many food and drink options to choose from. Check-out was also friendly experience and we enjoyed our stay very much.

Lysebu was a gem tucked away on the mountainsides around Oslo. The front desk staff were so friendly and welcoming and happy to help with any requests. The rooms were so comfortable and relaxing and ours had an unbelievable view. We had dinner our first night as well as breakfast both mornings and the restaurant was superb. Our server for dinner had an extensive knowledge of the menu and the wine selection and was 5 stars! Breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts we have ever had. Conveniently the metro stop is a short walk away, even though you feel you are tucked away in the countryside, making getting into Oslo very easy and affordable.

This hotel was utterly amazing!! We arrived on the last day the hotel was open for the season but you would never have known it based on the high level of customer service that we received!! We arrived late afternoon and the concierge/front desk person was incredibly friendly and personable!! He asked if we would like reservations for the restaurant but we had planned on heading into the city. He suggested that we go get situated in our room which they had upgraded to a junior suite and then come back to the front desk for some tips about the city. He spent 30 minutes with us helping us find local spots to eat at and to sightsee!!! He was just amazing! We plan on returning to this hotel at our first opportunity!! All the staff members were very friendly and the atmosphere was just incomparable!! Everything was perfect!! But the concierge/front desk person was just the cherry on top!! Thank you Kit for making our stay one we will never forget!!

Amazing view from the balcony, rich breakfast and food in the restaurant was fantastic. Location is breathtaking. For relax I appreciated great swimming pool and sauna. Hotel staff were always nice and helpful. The hotel is beautifully decorated in winter and it feels extremely cozy.

Everything about this hotel worked for us. It's a perfect location, only minutes walk from the railway station with tram and bus stops right outside. The hotel is clean, fresh and modern and the staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is the most extensive I have seen and the range of choices should please everyone. Plenty of staff serving, replenishing and clearing away. Our room was light and spacious (we had a deluxe with balcony). The bar on the ground floor was very nice with plenty of comfortable seating, as well as seating outside for the sunny weather. Various attractions are right on your doorstep: the Opera House, the Munch Museum and the new Deichman Library. Simply, the best hotel we've stayed in. I'd stay here again at the drop of a hat.

We loved our stay at this hotel. The building was modern with a central location on the waterfront. It is walking distance from Central Station (on the flat) once you work out which exit to take. The staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful from when you arrive at reception, housekeeping and especially the wonderful restaurant and kitchen staff who prepared the best breakfast and kept everything running smoothly. Fernanda was especially helpful when I had questions about the gluten free options. I suffer from Coeliac disease and food when travelling can be an issue so it was great to have a good breakfast to start the day. The room was a good size and the beds and bedding were fresh. We were on the seventh floor and slept well. This hotel ticked all the boxes. We will certainly stay again. Thank you for all your hard work. ❤️

We had an incredible stay at the Clarion. The room, location, staff and breakfast exceeded our expectations. Hotel is a short walk from the Oslo Central Station in Central Oslo. The National Opera house is a block away. We had a Deluxe Double Room. Bed was queen sized and very comfortable. Area was very quiet. Breakfast was outstanding! Made to order omelets and freshy made pancakes were delicious! You can eat so much you don't need lunch. Breakfast area was spacious with plenty of seating. Staff was friendly and polite. Would definitely stay there again.

An exceptional stay! Great location: only 5 minute walk to Oslo S, a block away from the National Opera House and the water, 10 minutes from Karl Johans Gate. Very quiet, no noise from outside, inside, or above. Also, Oslo is a quiet city with almost no traffic noise. Expedia said room was a double but it was a king. We booked the Deluxe Room. Room was spacious and very clean. Bed was super comfortable. Breakfast was incredible. So many options, made to order omelets and freshy made pancakes. A barista is available but I don't drink coffee. So many selections, cold meats, veggies, breads, smoothies, pastries, hot foods! So much food that we never needed lunch during our stay in Oslo! Staff was very polite and helpful. Highly recommend!

I booked a single room, it was not very big but clean, well organized and very comfortable. Clean bathroom and spacious shower. Big bed and and even though there's no bedside table the plug to charge the phone is right beside the bed. Nice plus: some tea bags and coffee and a kettle in the room. The position is perfect, 5 mins from central station and right around the corner from Karl Johans gt.

The service is exceptional and excellent, this is the first time when the hotel stay for a couple of nights was above my expectations! I arrived for my birthday and this little gesture as a birthday card did matter a lot! The room was small - but it was not a surprise for me, the toilet and shower were super clean. And the bed was super comfortable. There was construction work during the stay, and the team made aware about these works, and also stated everywhere that they open to all the requests to make the stay very comfortable. I am very happy that I did choose this hotel, and there is definitely a bar for other hotels to hit this one 😄 Wish you all the best, dear Bob W team! Keep doing this amazing work!

Absolutely perfect location - right at the city center. Few minutes walk to central station, metro stations and all attractions are within walking distance. Everything was working smoothly via phone app (doors, breakfast vouchers). The room was small but enough for 4 people - one king size bed and a sofa. You can choose from 2 nearby cafes where you can use your breakfast vouchers. We tried only one (Spor av nord) where you can choose from buffet menu - the offer was quite simple (scrumbled eggs, ham, egg salad, salmon and some pastries) but the atmosphere is nice and food was also good. On top of that you can have as much coffee or tea as you want : ) Overall this is a perfect place to stay in Oslo. I think that you realy get a great value for the money.

Nice central location and very easy to find and access. Average sized single room which made good use of the space, was very tidy and well maintained. I loved the pin board with all the stuff on it - that was a nice touch. Very close to both Central Stasjon and rhe ferry terminal, and most things in the city are easily within walking (or tram) distance. I was a tad worried about the keyless relying on my phone, entry but access to the wifi once you arrive made things more comfortable. The washateria was extremely helpful, I can't overstate how nice it was to have access to a washing machine (AND dryer) while travelling.

Karl Johan Hotel, as the name would suggest, is located on Karl Johans Gate – a great, central location in Oslo. The parliament building is just across the road. The Royal Palace, University and Central Station are all within walking distance. When walking towards Central Station, you will find the Cathedral as well as lots of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. The central location means you can save on public transport or taxi fares. Norway is not a cheap country, and this really helps. A train from central station to or from the airport costs 129KR (around USD12.90) on a stopping service. The hotel offers a variety of rooms. I had a cosy single. This was small, but had everything you would need including a fridge, coffee machine, kettle, some free toiletries, free WiFi and a large smart TV which was useful if you wanted to watch YouTube. There was also a small safe and plenty of outlets across the room, as well as a work desk, bedside table, lamp and reading light. There were no USB outlets, so you will need an adapter unless you are travelling from a European-plug area. There was also no phone for calling in-between rooms or reception, but the phone signal and WiFi worked well. Other rooms available included double, and more superior rooms that are larger and have more facilities. If your phone is eSIM compatible, you may want to consider an eSIM for internet access whilst out and about. Breakfast is included in all room types and rates.

We stayed at Karl Johan Hotel for three nights, and I honestly can’t say enough good things about it. The location is amazing — right on Oslo’s main street, with everything just a short walk away. You really feel like you’re in the heart of the city. The room was beautiful! Super clean, stylish without being over-the-top, and the bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. We also really appreciated the small touches, like the nice toiletries and how quiet the room was, even though we were in such a central spot. Breakfast was incredible. Fresh fruit, warm pastries, great coffee, eggs, salmon, and so many options — we looked forward to it every morning. Honestly, one of the best hotel breakfasts we’ve had. But what made the biggest impression was the staff. Everyone we met was so kind, welcoming, and helpful. It didn’t feel fake or forced — just genuinely friendly people who made sure we had a great stay. Karl Johan Hotel has such a warm and relaxed atmosphere, but still feels classy and professional. It really made our trip to Oslo feel special. We’ll 100% stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting the city!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Karl Johan Hotel in Oslo. To start with, the location is very good - it is right on Karl Johan's Gate, which is the main pedestrian street going between the train station and the royal palace. It is maybe a 5-minute walk to the harbor front and all major sites in Oslo are easily accessible. There's also plenty of bars and restaurants near the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable (although I will admit that the shower was pretty small). And for being that central, it was pretty quiet. I happened to be in Oslo when it was in the mid-to-upper 80s, but the hotel is air conditioned, so it was comfortable. The breakfast buffet is large and has a great variety of foods for all tastes. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly helpful, kind, and attentive, making me feel truly welcome. The room was spotless, beautifully designed. The breakfast was exceptional—fresh, delicious, and with plenty of variety to suit every taste. The overall atmosphere of the hotel was warm, relaxing, and perfectly suited for both leisure and business. Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of. Everything was perfect for my stay, and I can’t wait to come back again. This hotel is an absolute must-stay!

The hotel was beautiful. Our room was a bit on the small side but well-appointed, with comfortable bedding and bed, and a modern bathroom with all the amenities. The breakfast buffet was extensive, and the food was excellent. We arrived early and were able to get into our room before check-in. All of the front desk staff were friendly and helpful - a special shoutout to Kaspar, who provided us with cappuchinos and showed us the hotel balcony, where we could sit outside on a rainy day and watch passersby on the street below. The location is great for exploring downtown Oslo - we arrived by train (Oslo Central Station) from the airport and walked the approximately 1/2 mile to the hotel (slightly uphill; easier going the other way). The hotel is across the street from a park and within easy walking distance to many attractions, parks, shops, and restaurants.

Luxury hotel! Huge (aka, American sized king) bed with all the pillows and a huge bathroom with separate jacuzzi style tub and walk in shower. We were splurging, and it was worth it. Not to mention the staff was very friendly and the location was great. A close walk to lots of high end restaurants and only a 10-15 minute walk to Oslo city center. If you want to treat yourself, I would definitely recommend.

I loved this hotel! Check in was quick and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. I arrived just as breakfast was closing in the restaurant, but I called the restaurant before heading down and they kept things open a bit longer for me! This made a huge difference to my day - after travelling I needed a quick convenient breakfast. We took a few glasses of Champagne in the bar later - a lovely bar, again with efficient and polite staff. The only draw of the food and beverage side, was the limited room service menu. Enjoy food on here for a snack, but not for a fussy eater! The room was fabulous. A small balcony which overlooked the water - and nice to have some fresh air in the room. Enough floor space and space to hang clothes, and any luggage. The bed looked luxurious with lots of pillows, and was comfortable for sleeping. There were some very cool touches to the room - light sensors in the bathroom, extra pillows with fun labels, a tv system that was friendly to use, and more entertaining than the usual set up. I did not make it to the spa - but the facilities looked lovely! With an express elevator from each floor to the spa - it felt very convenient! The area feels slightly odd as to access the hotel, you must drive through a car park - but it is easy to walk into town, and get taxis. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, and being on the water really was lovely. I would recommend the hotel - and I will definitely go back!

We enjoyed our stay a little off the beaten path from city center but easily walkable or accessible via public transportation. We loved the charming, quiet location by the water and close to great restaurants. Importantly the beds were comfortable, shower was hot, towels absorbent and room felt clean. Our favorite aspect of the Thief was the wonderful employees. They are friendly, helpful, gracious and professional. After a difficult day of travel, Isabella warmly greeted us at the front desk and the stress of the day melted away. She upgraded our room to a higher floor. We were very pleased. The following morning we were greeted by Sylvester in the restaurant. You can tell the man is a consummate professional. I enjoyed watching him as no detail went unnoticed by him. And his staff followed his lead. I commented how much I enjoyed the cozy table at which he sat us and he remembered to seat us at the same table on the following mornings. I ordered tea with honey and milk and the milk was warmed so it would not cool the tea. We were disappointed not to see him on his day off, but Sylvester’s colleague, Marika, took wonderful care of us. She knew to seat us at our favorite table. Because of the people and good food, morning breakfast became a routine to which we looked forward. We will stay at the Thief on our return to Oslo and will recommend to friends and family!

The hotel is located adjacent to the water's edge on a peninsula sticking out from Aker Brygge (a very popular area packed with restaurants and bars). Parking is available in the underground car park beneath the hotel, which is convenient but very expensive at 525 NOK for 24hrs (no wonder the car park was quite empty when we parked there). The hotel itself is arty and oozes style with everything branded with its name. Our room was modern and had a partial view of the water and a very cool automatic sliding patio door leading out to a tiny balcony. A coffee machine was provided as were slippers. However, we had to request robes from reception which took over an hour to arrive following a couple of prompts. The ninth floor rooftop has nice views but nothing jaw-dropping. And a glass elevator takes you down to the dimly lit Spa area which included a decent modern gym and a very small pool with sauna (these facilities have to be reserved in advance). All things artistic are clearly part of the hotel's DNA as they even have their own art collection which you can see at the Astrup Fearnley Museum Of Modern Art (as a guest you get complimentary access). Apart from the issue with the robes, we actually found the service to very helpful and friendly throughout...especially at breakfast which consisted of a buffet plus one item from a small menu (Eggs Benedict, etc). Overall, we enjoyed our stay at The Thief and would definitely stay here again when visiting Oslo.

We were in Oslo for my partners 50th birthday. I found The Thief as a recommendation on TripAdvisor, I wanted somewhere special and it was highly recommended. I paid for a superior room with a fjord view and I really wasn’t disappointed. We received a very warm welcome upon our arrival and all the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We stayed in room 610, blessed with full width windows, with a sliding door onto a small balcony. The room had all the expected facilities. The bed was comfortable and huge! The bathroom was nicely appointed. The rooms are unusually shaped due to the hotels shape but to me, I found it interesting and pleasant. The hotel is very art themed, our room featuring a pleasant print and various books featuring art and the history of the area. During our stay the restaurant was being renovated so our breakfasts were served in the roof top bar/restaurant on the 9th floor. This did not spoil the experience or cause issues. On Saturday night we chose to have some cocktails in the hotel bar. They have a fine selection of quality spirits and we were served some very fine Old Fashioned cocktails. You will find cheaper options I’m sure but I would not hesitate to return or recommend this hotel to anyone.

Renovated and refurbished maternity hospital in the embassy district of Oslo - a grand and superb lodging in a very pleasant suburb only a few tram stops from Oslo Central and a short walk from the national Theatret Metro station. The room was large and spacious with all modern facilities - renovated to a very high standard with 2 bathrooms and kitchenette. The neighbourhood was quiet. Communication with staff to advise our late arrival was easy and they also helped us determine what our Travel phone number was - very helpful.

The apartment was perfect it had a place as you entered where you could hang coats and hats. The rooms are very spacious. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was perfect. Stove, oven, dishwasher, and small fridge. Big wi does and high ceilings. Nice coffee shop on the corner. It is a 10 min walk through the park around the king's castle to Karl Johnn the main walking street and Oslo city center. I highly recommend The Sweet! 👍👍

Excellent location in cosy historic building. It was quiet and calm but very close to the nearest urban hotspots. The apartment itself is very compact and has everything you need for a short stay including a small kitchenette, double bed, tv, small table with chairs, quite spacious shower and even a beautiful view to rooftops of Oslo. It is the second time we choose The Sweet for our trip to Oslo and hopefully not the last one!

Impeccably clean, literally bathroom was spotless! Friendly helpful staff, good size, walkable to central city. The room was quite warm I think the heating was centrally controlled but otherwise 10/10

This place for perfect for our stay in Oslo. Spacious, good location, very clean with all the amenities you would need. The only thing that let our stay down (and the only reason it drops a star) is that it took nearly an hour to check in, 4 phone calls to the operator (although everyone we spoke to was very polite) and standing out in the February Oslo cold is not fun. This is due to the app check in function and the lack of an onsite human. However it was definitely worth the wait. If they can get this sorted then we would definitely return and would recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable, relaxing, reasonably priced stay.

This review is actually for "Studio with City View" as we were able to be upgraded to this one. We had a pleasant stay in this property! The room was really clean and tidy. We really like that we were allowed to replenish the tea bags, coffee and toilet papers from the supply room on our own. We also enjoyed the lounge which is well decorated to sit there and work. We would like to especially thank the staff that allowed us to upgrade to "Studio with City View". We originally booked "Room with City View" with non-refundable option. After arrival, we found the "Studio with City View" was available with similar price, so we asked to upgrade, and the staff was really nice to make it happen. This definitely made our trip more delighted and enjoyable.

Came to Oslo to celebrate my daughters 40th birthday. Given all the codes to get into the room on the day of arrival and after that it was plain sailing Not far from the harbour and centre of the city and the palace .Lots of restaurants around and bars .Didn't make the rooftop bar so can't comment. Restaurant across the road provides the breakfast which my daughter said was excellent Overall great stay.

Great location, high-standard room (we stayed in a room with a city view on the top floor), everything you need in the room, including a well-equipped kitchen and let's say modern lighting controls. Elegant bathroom. A very tasty breakfast (choice of few sets from the menu) is available at the restaurant across the street (note: on Sundays, it's only open from 9 a.m.).

This is the BEST hotel in Oslo. It is close to everything, but in a quiet part of the city. We spent four weeks in Denmark and Norway, stayed at some fancy hotels (including the famous Grand Hotel Oslo), but enjoyed this place the most. The rooms are spacious and the staff is so friendly and helpful. They recommended some great neighborhood restaurants, explained how to get a transportation/museum pass, and arranged for our transportation to the airport in a vehicle large enough to carry our two large bicycle boxes and two pieces of luggage. They also referred me to a place where I could get a massage and helped me book the appointment online (everything on the website was in Norwegian). The hotel is very clean and the breakfast bar is varied and delicious. There was no street noise keeping us awake at night. The rates were a bargain. If I ever go back to Oslo, this is the place I would stay. Don't forget your eyeshades if you visit in the summer!

There is no air con but fans are provided and this combined with the cool evening air from the windows that open make for a comfortable temperature. —Mini bar in the room is super convenient and worth it when you realise that 7-11 doesn’t sell beer/wine. —Rooms are clean, comfortable, don’t worry. —Just stay here.

The property was centrally located in a quiet area but within easy walking distance to the city centre and public transport. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was a buffet style breakfast which was fresh with a variety of hot and cold options.

First trip to Norway and we selected this property. Perfect location next to the central station so easy to get to and from the airport, plenty of tram and bus stations nearby. Hotel itself was pretty clean and modern, kept tidy with staff who professional at all times. The breakfast was very good but issues around seating but getting their earlier enough should alievate that. Room was a pretty good size with a nice balcony, which allows smoking for those who do. Bathroom facilities clean and modern with plenty of nice shower products. Minibar in the room as well was responsible priced. However, my issues with the room was the aircon barely kept anything cold and with the balcony open you're subject to outside noise. The bed as well was good but the pillows, far far too soft to sleep on. Wife had to use cushions from the sofa. Despite the issues we encountered we would recommend this hotel, and when we return to Oslo we've agreed that we'd be booking here.

Excellent, comfortable hotel in perfect location in central Oslo, a stone’s throw away from the station. Spacious, well-equipped, nicely designed room with a comfortable bed and a good sized bathroom. Lots of seating within the room and the bonus of a balcony with city view. Fabulous, well-staffed breakfast providing ample, delicious choices. Healthy ginger, carrot and orange breakfast shot which was offered, not only on arrival, but served at the table, was a welcome extra touch. The staff were all very friendly and hospitable. All in all, we had a wonderful stay at the Thon Hotel Opera- many thanks to all of the team.

The location a cross the street from Operaen and Deichman Library and short walk to Munch Museum is ideal if visiting these places ( which are a must) are a priority in your list. I attended 3 events at Operaen during my week in Oslo and the feeling of just crossing the street in that beautiful environment and “being home” in the nice lobby, restaurant and bar is perfect. Food at the restaurant and breakfast was delicious and varied. The gym space has great machines, view of the street, and access to the terrace, with spacious locker room and showers. Really no excuse to stay fit while travelling. If you are arriving to Oslo by train, this property is an easy walk from the train station. A five minute walk from the hotel is the tram number 12. With this line you can reach most other places you might like to explore. The staff at the front desk was excellent, as everyone else I met during my week. Thank you all for a great experience!

Perfect location. Right next to the train station, 20 mins straight from the airport. It is very central. Everything is walkable. All of the staff were so friendly and helpful. The room had everything we needed and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was fabulous. Everything you could want and more. There are many restaurants close by and the Opera house is right across the road. We didn't hesitate to book again when we were stranded in Oslo on our way back to the UK because of the Heathrow closure. 2 stays in 7 days.....it felt like home. Don't hesitate, book it as your base to explore Oslo.

This was a quiet, comfortable hotel in a great location. It's basically right across the street from the Oslo S train station so if you're taking a train anywhere, the location can't be beat. It's also right at the opera house and just a few minutes walk to the Munch museum. There's a courtyard nearby with a few restaurants but there are a lot of restaurants within a close walk of the hotel. The room itself is quiet and comfortable. Breakfast is optional but the spread is huge and everything is really good - I definitely recommend getting breakfast at the hotel!
