This hotel is so amazing! I would say is perfect, near the ski lift, hotel room is so clean and specious. The staff also is quite nice and friendly!!! Everyday wake up could see the beautiful snow views, and they own separate ski locker, it’s easy to save your rental equipment overnight, very convenient. The breakfast also very tasty! I spent a really lovely holiday there!

Clean modern and spacious room with sauna. Very quiet hotel. Great food at the Camper restaurant and friendly personnel. Online check in is very convenient. We got our room prior to check in time without any difficulty. Perfect for ski-inn/ski-out. Just by the gondola to reach Ruka Village.

We had a room with sauna and balcony. It was a very nice, comfortable and clean room with quite good equipment especially in the kitchen. Staff was very friendly and breakfast good. We were there in the summer season so it was very quiet, compared to the other side of the village.

Let's start with the positives. The hotel's location couldn't be better, situated right in front of the ski lifts and pistes. This made it incredibly convenient to hit the slopes first thing in the morning and to return to the hotel after a day of skiing. The room I stayed in was spacious and clean but without any cleaning services during the stay. Unfortunately, my experience with the Reception desk left much to be desired. Despite reaching out for assistance with various inquiries, I found the staff to be unhelpful and at times dismissive. This was especially frustrating when attempting to address issues with advice on snowshoe tracks and needing clarification on certain amenities and other bookings. It would be great if the staff could be more attentive and accommodating to guests' needs and use less: "We don't know!" Another downside was the breakfast options offered at the hotel. As a vegan with gluten restrictions, I found the selection to be quite limited. I encountered some issues with local taxis in the area. Despite travelling different distances, I was consistently quoted the same fare, which seemed unfair and inconsistent. No taxi meters. Overall, while Ruka Valley Inn has its merits, there are areas where improvements could be made to enhance the overall guest experience. With better customer service, expanded breakfast options, and improved transparency in local transportation, this could truly be a standout destination for ski enthusiasts.

Good equipped studio style room, with fridge, microwave, coffee maker and kettle. Comfortable beds and personal sauna is a top pick. Nice restaurant with pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. The place for bike storage is also quite big with electric plug to charge ebike. Very tasty pancakes for breakfast, and in general good selection of meal, almost.

Overall a pleasant night in Ruka. The room was nice and large and obviously has all the amenities for a lovely skiing stay. What we looked for this time was a sauna in the room, which was great, eating possibilities near, right next to reception and easy access, elevator right in from the parking garage underneath. All good there. Nice and clean. Code access to rooms. Improvement points : it could have been mentioned in the reservation email the information about the parking (now I had to drive up front go in the hotel and ask about it and then peel back into the garage). Minor thing. I don`t recommend the Colorado restaurant for food. Might be ok for just drinking...just get out and do one of the many other alternatives near the hotel. Overall a good stay. Oh one more thing. In smaller rooms the breakfast is included but in the bigger one we had (with the kitchenette) it is not included. Very odd. You obviously can get it by paying separate but...

Our stay was exactly what my fiancé and I were hoping for! The room had absolutely everything needed for a ski trip. It had a spectacular view with both a hot tub and sauna. It was spacious, equipped with all the kitchen necessities, and was close to the rentals and gondola. Not too mention all the nearby restaurants and shops. We couldn’t have been happier with our stay.

Huoneessa oli erittäin siistiä vaikkakin pinnat jo vähän kuluneet. Kaikkea tarvittavaa oli ajateltu esim. hyvin varusteltu minikeittiö ja oma sauna jossa laudeliinat. Buffet aamiainen hyvä, ravintolasulun jälkeen hieman suppeampi take away buffet mutta ok.

Right close to the lifts, the rooms were really comfortable and well equipped. There is a paid parking right below the resort, so you can drop the car and take the lift to your room, very handy with the cold temperatures.

Wonderful Aurora Suite. Own sauna on first level and jacuzzi outside the room on the (not heated) terrace. View down the hill/ ski slope was stunning. Went there at the end of November and had plenty of snow, albeit not as much as during the peak winter season. The room was spacious, modern and the terrace with the jacuzzi had a stunning view. Even though the terrace was not heated and we had about -8°C the jacuzzi managed to heat up to 40°C. The staff was helpful and lovely, the Hilltop restaurant was pricey but had very tasty food.

This was the main aim of the trip. The log cabin was exceptional and very well equipped, warm, comfortable and a pleasant experience. The 'short' walk to the main hotel for breakfast etc on occasions did not feel that short! The breakfast buffet was good and covered all dietary requirements The Husky and Reindeer trips were exactly as expected and worth every penny The bus to the Market works well for a change of scene Reception staff were very helpful in changing transfers as we changed our return travel plans

Exceptional breakfast with plenty verieties of food and healthy choices .Some touch of local Scandinavian seasonal products .Gorgeous SPA and sauna with free access 09:00-21:00 . Live music on weekend dinner .A la carte options+ buffet fro dinner. Wide choice of quality drinks/ cocktails. Rich intertainment : husky ride, reindeer farm, wonderful walking surranundings , arctic safary on snow mobile...etc.

The hotel is beautiful and the view even better! We stayed in a cottage which was great - it was spacious and had everything you need, including a lovely little sauna. The restaurant offers good food, especially the breakfast options very lovely.

Stunning location, great room and awesome view from the room, delicious breakfast, staff was very nice and polite. We stayed there only one night unfortunately, but definitely will be back again!

Really friendly staff and dinner in the restaurant was really delicious, simply perfect.

Hotel and room was clean and tidy, the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was also delicious and had a great variety of choices. Only thing which could have been better is if the baths and spas were open earlier at the weekeds instead of opening at 10am.

This hotel is right next to the sand dunes in Kalajoki, so if you reserve a room with a seaside view, you're in for a treat. The hotel is new and everything works very well, including the free WiFi. The location is excellent as it is close to everything. The hotel staff was very professional and courteous. I can definitely recommend this hotel if you're planning on vacationing in the area. Very suitable for families with children.

Hotel Sani is as close to the beach as it gets. Staff were super friendly. Breakfast was okay with enough options for different tastes and dietary needs. The pool was nice, though it gets crowded at times.

Hotel is located in a good location, close to activities, restaurants and cafes. Breakfast provided by the hotel was basic but delicious. We’ll stay here again on our next trip.

We stayed in the birdhouse lodge, and it was perfect. A big window facing the valley side gave us an amazing view. There was a private sauna in the lodge was also a good touch. Room was perfectly clean and bed was big and comfortable. There was a small kitchen but we didn’t use it. In general you can find all you need. The whole environment was great too. Main facility provides a lot activities and info or advice about how to enjoy the stay. The host Lids was extremely friendly and helpful. Thank you for everything during our stay 😊

- the location is amazing, at the top of the hill surrounded by snowy trees and a frozen lanscape - the Luxury Birdhouse is so beautiful and spacious, and the private hot tub is a very nice touch in freezing temperatures - the staff were very friendly and accomodating, I appreciated their flexibility since I had some dietary requests and they fulfilled all of them - the food is delicious, the Giant Soup is probably the best soup we've eaten and the veggie meal I ate for New Year's was fantastic - snowshoes and sleighs are free of charge and there are very beautiful trails around - although it's situated in an isolated area, you can find two well stocked supermarkets, a pharmacy and other basic facilities at about 20 min drive

With the Gorgeous views, friendly and accommodating staff, Cozy and comfortable cabin our stay was 10/10. We were blessed with the best sunset views right from our cabin as well

Kajaana Cottages has a whole assortment of cottages of different sizes and rates. There is even a large summer home located on the premises for rent. We had our own fully stocked kitchenette and private sauna. All of the cottages are located on a large lake and are also located within 10 minutes of Kajaana. The owner is extremely nice and is helpful with everything that we needed. Very accommodating.

We got for free upgraded from a smaller to a longer cottage! In general everything was very nice and the cottages are more or less new. Can absolutely recommend it!

Vietimme viikon Kajaani Cottagessa. Majoitus oli erinomainen. Talossa oli mietitty kaikki loppuun asti. Kuivauskaappi, keittiön varustus ja siistit tilat. Majoitus oli järkevän matkan päästä Vuokatin rinteistä n. 20min. Auton lataus onnistui ongelmitta. Poreallas oli todella iso plussa. Oli ihana pulahtaa laskettelupäivän jälkeen. Henkilökunta oli todella mukava ja avulias. Jos tulemme Vuokattiin uudestaan niin ihan varmasti majoittaudutaan täällä.

The view is amazing, it really worth. And the staff is very helpful and friendly.

We loved the Bird’s nest cabin. The view was spectacular. The cabin was really cosy with plenty of space and its own sauna. There is a nice walk on site and an observation tower above the main building. There is plenty of parking available.

Perfect accomodation if you want to visit Oulu. Comfy bed, very clean and modern house and it has everything you need. The sauna is a plus.

The place was very clean and quiet. The place has modern equipment and large TV on the wall and smaller TV in the rooms. Sauna was clean and it was wonderful to get Finnish sauna experience.

We stayed one night at Hotel Aateli on our way to Northern Finland. The stay was perfect - the room was very comfortable (especially liked the bed and the details of the decor). We also had dinner at Ainoa restaurant, and the food was delicious. Also breakfast was superb and was included in the price. We booked their small spa just for our own private use and this was a true gem; I loved the sauna and the small pool. It was really nice to relax there after and before long drives. We also were given the opportunity to keep the room a bit longer than normally. Parking is at the front of the hotel and you can easily walk to the skiing resort, which is next to the hotel. Only thing that could be possibly improved was the lack of parking space - we came early enough to get the last spot, but the people coming after us had to park outside the parking area. Overall we had a really nice stay, wish we could have stayed longer!

This was our second stay at Hotel Aateli, and we will cerainly come back again. In our opinuon the hotel is very cosy, comfortable, clean and well msintsined. Personnel is service minded, and food in the restaurant Ainoa also very good. We liked the breakfast which inluded in the hotel room rate. We had a standard double room and also booked their small Zen spa for 50 mins. We were basically happy with everything, the only thing was that waiting time between the courses in the dinner was quite long, but we were told about this in advance and as we had no hurry, this was also fine. Location is generally great, in the summer for hiking and in the winter for skiing - paths and slopes nearby. There is quite a lot to do in Vuokatti both in the summer and winter, but if you want to relax, you can do that at Aateli.

Wonderful, new, clean. Wonderful breakfast and atmosphere. Very comforting when far from home. Large balcony. Very eco friendly, good food, very convenient to ski slope and Sotkamo. Very convenient to athletic facilities. Request a suite for more than 2 people.

Room was big and spacious with lots of hooks and a warming cabinet. Well equipped for the ski season. Bed super comfy, loved the balcony and dinner and breakfast were delicious.

This property was lovely, I really appreciate how homely it felt. The rooms were spacious. The bathroom a bit tricky that one. There’s a ski resort not too far from the hotel you can literally walk over there. There’s a restaurant at the slope area and in the hotel but the one at the hotel at the time of my stay was not open until Thursdays. The staff was amazing and the breakfast was top notch. I really enjoyed my stay and I’m looking forward to coming back.

We had a wonderful overnight stay and couldn’t have asked for a better experience! The location is perfect—right in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore Oulu’s main attractions, restaurants, and shops on foot. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were greeted with warm smiles and exceptional service. The entire staff was welcoming, but a special shoutout goes to the door staff, who were consistently polite, cheerful, and eager to assist with anything we needed. Our room was spotless and cozy, with a comfortable bed and all the essentials for a relaxing night. While the space was a little compact, it was thoughtfully arranged and still felt very comfortable and inviting. The breakfast buffet the next morning was a real treat—plentiful, tasty, and a great way to start the day. Overall, it was a delightful stay and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place to friends or fellow travelers. We’re already looking forward to our next visit to Oulu—and will definitely be staying here again when we return!

Friendly staff, excellent breakfast with fresh orange juice, A special thank you to the staff of meriterassi who were extremely friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful dinner in one of the private “greenhouses” while it was very windy. We and our dog felt really cosy there.

Our check-in was seamless, and we loved our room – it was so clean, bright, and airy! The in-room sauna was a fantastic bonus. Breakfast was delicious, and the bar staff crafted excellent drinks. Plus, the location is perfect for exploring everything nearby.
