The bed was super comfy and our room lovely and dark. We did ask for a different room and the lovely lady on reception was so helpful and our next rooms were exactly what we wanted. The on site restaurant was incredible and the food outstanding. Cocktail was perfect. Nothing about this place we didn't like and we will be back. Great location opposite new world and beside countdown!! We slept so well and the room was quiet in the night and dark in the morning excellent AAA Plus!!

Attractive building, modern, spacious, good size and well equipped kitchen. Fittings , kitchen equipment and bathroom inclusions all fresh and modern. On main highway but this was not obvious in our upstairs unit. Good views.

Our room was lovely and clean. There was a large and comfortable bed. The room was spacious. The hostess friendly. It is situated on a busy road but with windows closed we had a quiet night.

Loved my stay here and can’t fault anything. Place was immaculately clean, beds were comfy and staff were very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this as a place to stay and I will definitely be booking here again if I’m travelling through the are.

The host was very nice and had put the heating on for me. The Studio was very clean. Great shower pressure. The Studio was also serviced with fresh towels, bins emptied and extra coffee supplied. Would stay again for sure.

Little cottage: Comfortable large bed, there is enough pillows to cuddle. Kitchen facilities and whiteware. There were Kitchen towels to dry the dishes, clean the bench top n dry your hands, were provided separately. Washing machine provided. Air condition to keep you cool n warm. Indoor n outdoor seats to chill out. Small compact bathroom with shampoo and shower wash, nice shower with overhead shower n traditinal shower head.

We were greeted with a friendly welcome and shown to unit 6 at the rear of the complex away from the road. It was a lovely warm and cosy motel on a very cold winter’s evening. The unit was well equipped and exceptionally clean and tidy. A huge comfy bed gave us a great night’s sleep. The motel was also very quiet, being situated on a side road, away from the main road- no sounds from neighbouring unit either! A very good find! Can certainly recommend Thank you.

This is a very comfortable place to stay. The room was spacious and well laid out, the bed was comfortable and the shower was hot and had good pressure. The hosts were really friendly and the location is close to home and next to a supermarket. We had the rear unit, so it was well away from the road and quiet. We would definitely stay there again.

Although this is an older motel it was well maintained with an updated bathroom with an excellent shower. The host was very welcoming and was able to supply safe storage for our ebikes. The location is great. Right in the middle of town next to a supermarket and close to restaurants and cafes. even the studio units are quite spacious. Will definitely stay here again.

Warm friendly welcome, nice friendly atmosphere, extremely comfortable and clean units and very spacious, even the court yard was very clean and tidy and everything you needed in appliances for a good stay. Excellent pricing. One thing I would add make sure you book directly with them so your hard earned Kiwi Dollars don't get siphon off over season.

Hi All, arrived late in Alex on Friday night, phoned and a pleasant gentleman replied with offer that I could not refuse for my wife and myself, really value for money. The family room was clean and tidy, the kitchen self contained with fresh milk for coffee or tea. Amazing shower, a comfort queen size bed, 50 channel TV, GOOD heater, very well equipped room. Had a wonderful night at Olivers. Beautiful, impeccably restored historic property in the lovely town of Clyde. Super comfy room and bed, spotlessly clean. Restaurant and brewery attached, so all your dining needs are taken care of and delicious breakfast the next morning. Would definitely return and would go out of my way to stay here. Was lucky enough to be up early for the best, most colourful sunrise ever, but even if you don’t get that light the central Otago landscape you’re surrounded by is the absolute best of New Zealand.

Delightfully old world, but very comfortable and luxurious. The shower was modern day and excellent. The communal spaces were like being in a museum. The host David was most welcoming, and a great breakfast chef. Our dog was welcomed. I would recommend this just as an adventure. It was delightful. We have already recommended Oliver's to others.

Situated right in the centre of Clyde, but really quiet and easy walking to everything in Clyde. Staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful so made everything easy. The dinner in the restaurant was excellent, along with breakfast in the morning. A very pleasant stay.

The Lord Clyde was our most expensive accommodations on our 2 week road trip but definitely worth it! It was very cute with spacious rooms, nice bathrooms, and included homemade breakfast which was extremely tasty (and they were able to modify to make veggie)! Clyde is an adorable small town and very walkable and convenient for all the bike tour shops. We debated staying in Alexandra instead but were very glad we made the choice to stay in Clyde (and specifically at The Lord Clyde). There was no one there to check us in when we arrived during the check in window and our phones were having issues connecting but it was easy to find our rooms and keys ourselves and they didn't seem to mind! They also got us a dinner reservation at the restaurant across the street, which was lovely! Would definitely recommend!

Derby is a gorgeous, historic town that is the perfect jumping off spot for both the wineries and biking in this area. The Lord Clyde is super comfortable, clean, and beautifully renovated hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend to anyone coming to the area.

The Lord Clyde is a beautiful hotel in Clyde. We were greeted by Victoria on our arrival, she was an exceptional host. The hotel is beautiful and felt extremely welcoming. The rooms were divine, with gorgeous beds. To top it off Victoria cooked us a divibe breakfast before we left. Go and stay at the Lord Clyde you will not be disappointed. If you want a gorgeous restaurant just go next door to the old post office restaurant and definitely have the seafood chowder, it is a stunner as were the hosts - thanks debbie

Evan is a great host. Location excellent in a quiet Clyde street. Beautiful setting with well looked after gardens. Plenty of parking space. Room a great size, comfortable and cosy. Breakfast delicious - very fancy egg on toast with yummy relish and baked tomatoes. Extra toast and home made apricot/wild thyme jam. Coffee good too. We really liked the shared breakfast with other guests too.

It was lovely and it had a very homely vibe, the room was a good size and the bed was very comfortable, I had a good sleep. On arrival he greeted us as we were getting out of car, even offered to help take our bags inside as well. We had mention to him that we were going out for tea, we had a place in mind and asked us if we had a reservation obliviously we said no but he rang the place a booked a table for us, luckily he did or we would have been waiting for a long time. Arrived back from dinner and he set out cup of tea for us, nice and relaxed environment. Breakfast was delicious, the host was very friendly and polite and we had good a conversation that morning, Jazz the dog was very kind and friendly and playful.

Hartley Homestead is a quiet, comfortable place to stay. Euan is very friendly and helpful. The bed was so comfortable, it was like sleeping on a cloud! We enjoyed the breakfasts and sitting in the backyard area in the afternoons. The location is a great base if you are cycling in the area. We charged our e-bikes easily outside the garage and it was very safe having the bikes in the yard. The quail family wandering around the yard was a bonus to watch.

Beautiful, quiet vineyard location close to the river. We did a walk towards Clyde along the river which was lovely. The room is very cosy, the bed is comfy and the bathroom is good too. Nice outdoor furniture to enjoy a coffee in the morning sun or sit outside on a warm evening.

The crib is very cosy and and was exactly as we expected, as described. It is clean and tidy and in a lovely wee spot. The bed is very comfortable and the shower is amazing. Outside is very pretty with the potted flowers, lavender and pear tree. Although the neighbours are close by, they were respectful and polite.

The accommodation was very spacious and very clean with a well equipped kitchen. Our children loved the beautiful garden and playground. Friendly staff and very close to the Otago Central Rail Trail. Thanks for a great stay!

Very friendly meet and greet and given an upgrade to a 2 bedroom. Apartment was very clean with comfy beds and we especially liked the patio area The gardens are beautiful and immaculately kept perfect for relaxing after a busy day with a fish pond, swings and trampoline, to keep little ones entertained.

The property was very comfortable and clean with lovely gardens to walk around and enjoy. The proprietor was very friendly and helpful.

Lovely clean room, comfortable beds. Easy parking and close enough drive to the town itself. The setting is gorgeous and I bet its amazing out in the gardens in warmer months, very pretty and well maintained.

Had a very pleasant stay in room 7 of the Criterion Hotel recently. The staff were very attentive, and the room both tastefully renovated and clean. Most rooms have ensuites. The smart TV provided an array of entertainment options including internet access while the location and views to the river were appreciated. Highly recommend this accommodation as an affordable alternative. The guest kitchen and lounge areas are welcoming and a great way to meet other guests. The restaurant downstairs has a new menu and the food is good quality.

Having discovered all the backpacker accommodation full of fruitpickers (be aware of this over summer season in this area!), we took a room at the Criterion Hotel. $70 a night got us a double, ensuite room with a TV. There is also a guest kitchen and living room. At the time of writing, the rooms were looking quite dated and tired, but very comfortable, and the new managers have plans underway to redecorate and update the rooms. I hope they include blackout curtains in this, as the exterior safety light was a little disturbing at night. The TAB bar downstairs is humming with locals and Dean and his wife (the new managers) are always happy to strike up a conversation if you wish. The noise from the pub cannot be heard in the bedrooms - no noise disturbance there. We ate in their new restaurant downstairs on the first night. It is separate from the pub and has a relaxed ambience. We enjoyed an excellent meal outside in the garden with exceptional service from Amy. Starters $12-18, Mains $23-30 and both with lots of choice and fantastic quality, and a wine list sourced from local vineyards. The desserts were disappointing in comparison. Dean and co were incredibly welcoming and helpful - thank you so much! We are looking forward to our next stay there already!

Lovely old hotel. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. No Wifi in rooms thou was in the lounge. Nice view of the river in Autumn. Good value for money. We ended up here because everywhere was full but we were happy with it. Wish we had eaten in the bar as apparently have good cod dinners.

Breakfast set up very good--a fully equipped kitchen with all I required in serve /prepare yourself style--Cornflakes , milk, sugar , toast bread , butter,jam etc tea bags, instant coffee--All I required--if you want cooked breakfast you would have to supply basics--ie : bacon eggs etc--all the required stuff was there to facilitate cooking--pots/pans etc , range top, microwave etc--I only like a light breakfast and it was all there

It is a lovely, quiet, safe place to stay. The chalet was spacious and comfortable. It is set in an orchard, so it is pretty. I have stayed before and will stay again.

One of our favorite places to stay during this NZ trip. Breakfast mainly consisted of packed foods, but was good and plenty nevertheless.

Elaine was a very friendly and welcoming host. She had the room heated ready for our arrival. Everything was clean and tastefully decorated. The continental breakfast was generous. The twin beds were very comfortable and the quiet location was perfect. Thanks Elaine for providing us with a lovely stay in Clyde.

The cottage was fabulous. It was spacious and light, with French doors opening onto a lawn and garden area. The location was great (convenient and very quiet), and the kitchen and bathroom were spacious and modern. It was very convenient having a washing machine. We even got welcome biscuits!

Super clean, modern and tidy space. Also very secluded and private. Close to river, bike trails, grocery shops, eateries, etc. Friendly hosts, heat pump was on upon arrival so place was warm and cosy with some nice treats as well. Very nice shower with heaps of pressure.

it’s excellent value for the cost. the mattress is firm and comfortable; two pillows each; the a/c did a good job of maintaining the temperature. the shower was big and good pressure, lots of hot water and the fan got rid of the steam. kitchen was small but had everything we needed there’s a winery literally two minutes up the street where we went for a free tasting. Oliver’s is a five minute walk. it’s a perfect location free parking and the wifi was okay

The chocolates and a personalised welcome note were lovely touches. The property is beautifully maintained and has a lovely outdoor sitting area. The views are stunning. The location is very central to all the shops, cafés and restaurants.

Cute quaint cottage full of history, exceptionally clean and very well equipped. Delicious shortbread on arrival along with a bowl of fresh fruit. Shower was fabulous and bed very comfortable.

the location was amazing right in town. the bed was comfortable and the shower was amazing. we didn’t cook as we went out for dinner but there was a microwave and everything that would be needed.

The cottage was gorgeous. It was very welcoming to arrive at. The hosts and left some delicious fresh fruit and cookies for us, which was lovely. Everything was spotlessly clean with tasteful decorating. It is compact but has everything you need. The location is superb. It was such a special treat to stay in a beautiful, character stone cottage.

We did our own breakfast. The location is excellent and everything is handy for food and easy access to restaurants. We would definitely return to Tinker's Cottage and highly recommend it. The facilities are first-class and the hosts are very obliging folk. The shower pressure is fantastic and everything was beautifully clean.

A wonderful stay – again! This was my second visit to the cottage, and it was just as fantastic as the first time. Everything about the place feels cosy and warm, making it a perfect retreat. The location is spot-on – peaceful yet convenient – and the hosts are truly welcoming, going above and beyond to make sure everything is just right. One of the real highlights is the breakfast – a massive bonus that sets this place apart. It’s clear a lot of care and thought goes into every detail, and it shows. I’ll definitely be back again. Highly recommended!

Cosy, comfortable and clean. Well equipped, plenty of food provided for breakfast. We were able to make sandwiches for lunch. Walking distance to the cycle hire companies and restaurants. Advice: book a meal in a local restaurant prior to arrival because they get booked up quickly.

Everything was amazing. Jenny was the perfect host. Breakfast was plentiful and just what we needed! The cottage was super cute. Jenny was so friendly, welcoming and very helpful.

Kitchenette with dining table, nice bathroom. Selection of TV options plus DVDs. Stayed 3 nights, would stay again. Breakfast ingredients supplied as part of booking. Quiet and private.

We loved the park like grounds and views from the dormer window. The Continental Breakfast provided gave us a good start to our day. Bed was comfortable and we appreciated the pedestal fan that was very necessary with the 30-31 degrees C heat. Location close to village, Countdown and eateries. Friendly hosts.

Wonderful loft that was large and extremely comfortable. I received the breakfast "free" because of my status on booking.com and for $15 I don't think it would be worth it because it was just 4 slices of white bread, milk, instant coffee, and museli. The location required driving to either Clyde or Alexandra for dinner.

It was a very cute cottage in a rural setting, close to Alexandra and Clyde. Although the area available to us was a loft apartment , tables and chairs were available in the lovely garden. The Loft was well set up…comfortable, spacious, great shower, plenty of hot water, comfortable bed…lovely muesli and raspberry jam!

Pyke Cottage is in a convenient location in historic Clyde, within walking distance to great places to eat (Oliver’s; Three Peaks Coffee) and the beautiful Clutha River. The host, Peter, is super friendly and welcoming and makes you feel right at home, but leaves you to your privacy. The bed was really comfortable and the air conditioning was a welcome amenity on a hot Central Otago night. We had a great stay and can highly recommend the cottage for a couple or solo traveller!

An absolute gem hidden away on a quiet lane just a lovely five-minute walk from the centre of Clyde. Fantastically clean and tidy, this wee place has everything anyone needs for a comfy, cosy sleep, morning coffee/tea, and bathing in the spotless bathroom. Peter is a gracious host, and private off-street parking was a nice treat. Will *definitely* be back!

A beautiful studio with stunning decor and a very comfortable bed. We really appreciated the special touches of fresh flowers and coffee and the lovely outdoor area to watch the sunset over the hills. Peter and Glenys are delightful hosts and ensured we had everything we needed and friendly, easy communication. There are lots of options for eating out within walking distance in Clyde and the township is vibrant and interesting. The landscape is stunning and the best way to explore is by bike. 3 options for bike hire in walking distance to Pyke Cottage and the cottage even has bike parking set up. We had a wonderful 2 night stay and recommend this little oasis for couples or singles seeking comfy end of day respite after exploring this beautiful part of New Zealand.

The property is an end of barn conversion and nicely done. it is in a private and quiet area. For a short stay it was perfect, had all the essentials required with lovely views of the surrounding area and mountains. I found it clean and comfortable. A nice touch was having the breakfast items delivered in a basket which included some very tasty jams Jennie and Warren ( owners ) were friendly and helpful.

The guest facility at Dunstan Road is in a separate building overlooking the paddocks towards the hills beyond Alexandra. The location is wonderfully quiet and restful, yet within easy reach of Alexandra for shopping and Clyde for the best restaurants in the area. The rooms are beautifully appointed, well equipped and sparkling clean. Our hosts were cheerfully helpful and most pleasant to deal with. The breakfast hamper they provided was perfect. This was an absolutely first class B&B experience: strongly recommended.

A wonderful stay. The Air BNB was clean, comfortable, and very relaxing. The Breakfast basket was also wonderful - a very cute and fitting touch to the already amazing property. We cannot wait to come back and stay longer! Jennie and Warren were fabulous hosts, and even went out of their way to drive us to the wedding we were attending, rather than walk. It was a perfect stay, in a perfectly breathtaking location. Highly recommended !!

This is the second time I have visited Nangari Studio and always found my stay very comfortable. The owners Bruce and Ann are very welcoming and always put the heater on in my room before I get there, they even leave little treats to have with my cup of tea. The room and bathroom is modern with a well equipped kitchenette. It always pay to contact them before you arrive, so that they know if they need to leave a key for the room if they aren't personally going to be there to greet you. thanks for my stay and see you next visit

Totally enjoyed our accom at Nangari, close to town and our host was very friendly and recommended a perfect place for our evening meal. Was a nice comfortable home away from home environment. Very clean & tidy and equipped with everything we needed.

A well-appointed studio.. Very quiet and peaceful location. An enormous comfortable king bed. Everything was spotless Lots of special touches, including snacks.

This place has everything - tucked away in suburbia. Great value for money with a really nice set up.Very comfortable and clean and the hosts have thought of everything. We only stayed the one night but this place would be an excellent choice for a multi day stay. A moderate walk to the centre of town. The only slight negative is the water pressure in the shower - especially when you compare it to the water pressure in the sink.

Such a warm welcome from the owner! The house has bags of character and is a wonderful piece of history- unique to stay in a 19th century house! Cosy, warm rooms and comfy beds. Delicious continental breakfast in the cafe and top coffees included, NZ cafe standard. Powerful, hot shower in immaculately clean bathroom. Clyde itself is charming, quiet, quaint and friendly. Free parking provided off road, behind the hotel.

Dunstan House is a fantastic place to stay when visiting Clyde. Beautiful historic building, with an ideal location in the very centre of town. My room was good value, bed very comfortable and shared bathroom was well appointed and super clean. Shower was great! The verandah was a great place to relax and watch the world go by. Continental breakfast was lovely, great coffee and the cafe food looked awesome. The bike shelter was handy if arriving by bike when cycling the Lake Dunstan Trail. Ian and Meredith are hospitable and friendly hosts, definitely recommend a stay at Dunstan House! Thank you.

Beautifully restored building. We thought Clyde might be a bit of a one horse town but it is delightful. Clean, attractive, nice cafes and shops. The host of Dunstan House was very amenable and informative about the history of the house. The room was lovely. Shared bathroom was clean and pleasant with plenty of towels. Tea/coffee on fabulous landing with glasses for water/wine also available. Lovely first floor balcony. Breakfast thrown in for an extremely reasonable price. Choice of cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit, fruit juice, toast and spreads. V pleasant stay.

This is a hotel full of historical charm. The owners, Ian and Meredith, are incredibly friendly and welcoming. From the lobby to the room interiors, everything gives you a sense of stepping back in time. The small balcony on the second floor is a great spot for relaxing and enjoying a drink. Time seems to slow down here, making it especially relaxing. If you enjoy a vintage atmosphere, this hotel is truly a perfect choice for you.

Lovely character accommodation with welcoming host. Includes help yourself continental breakfast with choice of barista coffee. We stayed in the Albert Fountain room with en suite which was well presented, clean and comfortable. Although the room was not huge there was a lovely big balcony to sit out on and a communal lounge, also we appreciated the hot drink facilities and fridge available on the landing.
