This hotel is a beautiful old converted colonial house. The outside is very attractive, with flowering plants and trees, and inside, it is equally charming. There is a large dining area, where locals come to meet and eat, and where hotel residents have breakfast - coffee, juice, fruit and a choice of cooked dishes. The rooms were quirkily furnished and the beds were very comfortable. Reception is manned 24/7, and there is a safe, secure atmosphere. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, took our cases to our rooms, gave us directions into town and got us a taxi. The location is perfect - on a street which leads down to the town centre, with shops, restaurants, supermarkets, market and the main square. We had a delicious cappuccino con cajeta - try it! The must-see thing about Xalapa is the fabulous Museo de Arqueologia de Xalapa (MAX). It’s easy to get there by taxi. I loved Xalapa, it was a friendly place, with plenty to do.

This is a great hotel to stay at if you're visiting Xalapa. The staff is friendly and will help you if they can. Pretty clean and very interesting architecture. The hotel itself is in a very safe area, no problem walking around in the early evening not at night. The wifi was spotty in my room but worked great in the dinning area and lobby.

Friendly staff and clean facilities. There were four options for the complimentary breakfast: Red enchiladas Green enchiladas Enfrijoladas (similar to enchiladas but with beans on top instead) And eggs with beans on the side (and tortillas) They were all good! They give you a tiny bit of fruit before and coffee.

Nice hotel. A little bit of echo but by 10:00pm is quiet. The hotel looks like an old "Mexican Hacienda". Great service and really good food. Very clean. Beds are not the best but a little more than OK. Bathrooms are clean. It's just a few blocks from the cathedral and from Parque Juarez. It's well located.

I found the staff extremely helpful, especially Jorge Luis. He made suggestions of places to visit and then told me how to get there. The desk staff as well were very helpful when I was looking for tours. They phoned around for me to find the tour I wanted. Breakfast was included which is a nice perk.

Perfect location for arriving to Xalapa, the hotel is right next to Ado CAXA after crossing the street. Easy to walk to center or take a taxi or bus. Great restaurants nearby and at the hotel. Really helpful reception and friendly staff. Bathtub was great so was TV and AC and beds, desks and the view.

We loved our stay at this beautiful boutique hotel.The girl at reception was extremely helpful. She had a lot of useful information for us and was very patient. The restaurant food was excellent. The service we received in the restaurant was fantastic. The rooms were spacious and spotless. We enjoyed the jacuzzi too. The spa offered a nice variety of massages and Angelos was an amazing masseuse. Would definitely go back. This is the best place to stay in Coatepec. Great location and very quiet!

Beautiful boutique hotel. The hotel offers free breakfast with the room and is continental, but it is possible to add extra food at a very decent price. The eggs and enmoladas are very tasty. We were travelling with family and stayed two nights. The first night we stayed in the king suites, which have a nice decor and a very comfortable bed. We would recommend this rooms if you want a quieter time. The second time we stayed in the family rooms which are in the courtyard and they are a little bit noisier since they are closer to the restaurant and reception. This rooms have different size beds, some are king or queen, but also they have loft beds which can be double or single. This could be perfect rooms for a stay with friends or for families with kids. The personal at the hotel are very friendly and helpful, we decided last minute to extend our stay and they were able to book us but also to move our luggage to the new rooms. They also made very good recommendations for restaurants in town.

Wonderful place to stay in Coatepec! Excellent location, very central but a few blocks away from the busy streets and noise. Free parking was a bonus and being pet-friendly made it ideal for us. The rooms were very clean and spacious (especially the suite). The continental breakfast, included with the room, was perfect for me. There is a full menu available should you want something more. All in a very quiet and calm courtyard setting. Couldn´t ask for more while staying in Coatepec. Highly recommended.

A lovely little hotel in a beautiful town. If you like coffee you will love it around here. Coffee shops everywhere open early and late with excellent pastries. A light breakfast was included with excellent coffee and other breakfast items were available for sale. Helpful desk personnel helped us out with a tour which was wonderful. The updated bathrooms were a pleasant surprise. Whomever installed the shower knew what they were doing. And lots of hot water and water pressure. We loved the area and the surrounding towns as well. We would definitely recommend.

Overall great stay for the purpose. The hotel is a bit away form downtown but a very safe and quiet area. The staff is super friendly so that goes a long way.

La relación calidad/precio es bueno, para el precio el hotel esta bastante bien, la ropa de cama limpia, las toallas bien blancas, el personal de recepción muy amable, amplio estacionamiento dentro de instalaciones del hotel. Hay rampa para subir al segundo piso, nosotros no la necesitábamos, pero para subir maletas pesadas, o para gente con capacidades limitadas eso esta muy bien.

Algo retirado del centro pero en automóvil se llega rápido. Excelentes instalaciones, amplia habitación, amplio estacionamiento, agua caliente,hay para planchar la ropa, secadora de cabello…en fin… muy bien, lo único que no me agradó fue el olor de la habitación, a humedad,! Incluido las almohadas, pero se puede arreglar poniendo un poco de atención en esos aspectos. Gracias

Excelente servicio y atención antes y durante nuestra estancia, las habitaciones fueron limpias y cómodas para unos días de asueto, el desayuno es tipo continental (café, pan, jugo y fruta). Los meseros muy amables y el personal de limpieza muy eficiente. El joven de la recepción nos mostró las instalaciones del hotel.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Location was good for arrival to local bus station but bit loud. Pool area was excellent. Rooms were comfortable. Restaurant was fair. Wish I could have stayed closer to walking distance to beautiful down town area. But taxi ride was only 15 min away.

My positive experience with HB Hotel Xalapa started the moment I walked in the front door. The front desk staff was extremely pleasant and attentive. My room was large and spacious, very clean and well appointed, I liked the marble floors and the big window view. (The front of the hotel faces a busy busy roadway, so make sure you ask for a room on the opposite side, otherwise your sleep may be disturbed by traffic!). I was visiting Xalapa to see friends, but was also on business, to me this is a perfect business hotel, well situated and with perks that business people need like free wireless for your computer. I ate breakfast every morning in the hotel restaurant were an excellent buffet style meal was available for 110 Mexican Pesos, about $10, good value and great variety. I did not use the pool or the gym, but did use the business centre. I noticed there were some wedding parties as well at the hotel, so that would indicate they have banquet rooms available. I liked this hotel, it was quite reasonably priced, very clean, great friendly staff, and well appointed. It's probably a 3 1/2 Star quality lodging, and does a great job and gives super value for the prices they charged. I will stay here again!

While visiting family we stayed there for a couple of nights, the location is great, you can arrive and leave easily skipping all the city traffic what I appreciate very much Is not a luxury hotel but room was very comfortable and clean, front desk service was great and we were surprised during the breakfast with a great meal; looks like this restaurant has a good breakfast reputation

I had a wonderful stay at the HB Xalapa. The staff was very friendly and professional. Despite being next to a busy road, the room was surprisingly quiet. The bed was amazing! I really slept well in and the room itself was well apportioned. The only reason I did not give top marks was because the WiFi was poor - I could not a consistent and stable connection and had to use data on my phone and give up trying to use my computer. For such a lovely hotel, it would have been nice to have a small fridge in the room but other than those 2 things I was very satisfied with my stay.

Delicious meals into the Restaurant, excellent services in rooms, also roomservice. About Conference rooms, all perfect, everybody always with a Smile If it is true the swimming pool is small, it is compensed with a good service.

The Hotel Klimt is a modern hotel with friendly staff and an excellent restaurant. The rooms have fabulous views of the city and the Maquiltepetl valcano inside an ecological park. The restaurant serves local cuisine and has a popular buffet served from 7:30 am to 3pm. The food is excellent and the desserts are fantastic. I recommend the Plantano Pancake, a banana cake cooked in a deep dish. Room service is also an option after a day of exploring the city. The penthouse of the Hotel Klimpt has meeting rooms with a view and hosts many conferences The penthouse is also perfect for a wedding reception or a big party. Hotel Klimt is located on Avenida Muguel Aleman walking distance fron the center of Xalapa. There are many restaurants, a hospital, and small shops. It is safe and enjoyable to take a walk any time of day. Taxis are always available on Avenida Miguel Aleman. I recommend Xalapa as a travel destination and Hotel Klimt will provide the luxury you desire at the end of the day.

The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. All of the staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. We appreciated the convenience of having breakfast included with our stay. The parking was convenient and secure.

Hôtel Klimt was absolutely clean and comfortable. The location is superb. The beds are very comfortable, the rooms are clean, large, and well lit. Had blackout curtains for a good nights sleep. Check-in was fast and easy. Great value! I will definitely be back next time I'm in Xalapa.

The room was really big and we had jacuzzi. The bathroom was pretty big and really liked the smell of toiletries. Most of the staff was very friendly and super nice. They gave us a small bottle of water per each person. In general was pretty clean. The bed was really big and comfortable and we had two big windows facing each towards something like internal courtyard. In the room there was ceiling fan and AC. We loved the interior at the reception - vintage furniture, they had also pretty big library and some ceramics.

Lovely centrally located hotel with style and character. We had a quiet clean room, the staff were all polite and helpful. Reasonably priced breakfast in the lobby with sufficient choice of dishes and good service.

Located five minutes walk from the centre but in a quiet location. Wifi good throughout the property. Breakfast is not included but is available in the restaurant at a very reasonable price.

Beautiful lobby,old school decor in the rooms,comfy beds and nice big shower with great pressure and heat.Central location across the bicentennial park,near everything.The blackout curtains with screened windows keep out the mosquitos and make a calming resting place.

The location is very close to the historic center and located close to restaurants, stores and parks. The room was very nice and quiet. The bed was very comfortable. Good water pressure in the shower and nice hot water. The courtyard is beautiful and a nice spot to sit and enjoy some race and quiet.

I stayed here because I'm traveling by bus & this was approximately 1/2 way between the ADO bus station & Centro. I don't mind short walks. Ring the bell & wait to gain access when you arrive. The front gate is always locked. My stay didn't involve a lot of interaction with the staff, but when I needed anything, they were very friendly & accommodating. It's a hostel, but I stayed in a single/double bed room with my own bathroom. They ask you to put the Toilet paper into a waste basket which they empty on request. They don't make the beds for you like they do in a hotel. The sink in the bathroom only has cold water & it would be nice to have hot water There are several hotels in town that charge 150-250 pesos/night for a single room. I didn't change because the WIFI & hot water were good. The bed was a bit small for me and a bit lumpy. There is no heat in the rooms, so it will be chilly on colder days. They do provide blankets, so it's not a problem when sleeping. The lighting in the room could be improved. It consists of a single ceiling low wattage light in the center of the room. There is a mini market next door & an OXXO 50 meters away across the street. They have a kitchen with a coffee maker & microwave oven that I used. They offered free coffee in the morning If I was with a wife, I would probably stay someplace more comfortable, but this I would stay here again if I was alone or with friends. 3 people sharing a room pay the same I paid for a single

I booked a dorm bed but I ended up in a twin room with a private bathroom with 1 other person. Amazing value for money. The WiFi was strong, shower water was hot and the place was very clean. The staff are wonderful. I left my watch behind in the room and they kept it for me and stored my luggage. They also let me use their common area after I checked out for most of the day. I can't recommend this place enough and Xalapa is also a lovely town. The hostel is very secure with a PIN code entrance, room locks and a luggage box for each bed.

clean and comfortable place not very quiet. the breakfast buffet is awesome, delicious and lot of different dishes. for some reason people were cleaning the corridor after midnight. also one of the rooms didn't have hot water. people is very polite and the pool is small but clean and warm, excellent for kids.

Went on a business trip. Very attentive and fast registration personel, the king size bed and pillows extra comfortable and the room was very adequate in size. The indoor pool temp just perfect for relaxing after a long day . Ordered dinner from room service with little expectations but the beef fajitas with saluteed bell peppers and onions were excellent , the refried black beans very tasty . Will return for sure

You wouldn't think it from the town or the outside but this is a great hotel for an excellent price. Rooms are top notch and clean. It has a pool and functional gym. The staff are super friendly and the breakfast buffet (which is both huge and varied) is open until noon. The green/white Taxis are just outside and available 24/7. Super convenient, central and cost efficient.

Great hotel in a convenient and safe location. Check in was friendly though it had a setback. Room wasn't ready. The General Manager promptly took care of the situation. The Jr suite was great , allowed me to work from one room while the kids could play in the other room. Spotlessly clean and roomy. The bathroom was a bit cramped, but usable. Nice big TVs, but the cable interface was dated and slow. The public areas were spacious and attractive. The pool and gym area are outdated but usable. Time for some big Reno's . the general manager and staff are outstanding

Nice place if you don't mind skipping the old town. Easy to get to at a main road but still calm as the rooms are located around the patio area in the back. Good price and some food options nearby. I would reserve again.

The staff was great, welcoming and helpful, especially Mariana. The place was super clean and comfortable with restaurants within walking distance and in a safe area. It was easy to get a taxi to go dancing at night and the city felt safe enough to venture out. The hotel has limited parking but we had good luck and always had a spot. We enjoyed interacting with the people of Xalapa and would return again.

Great location and super friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast which you could have down in the cafe or delivered to your room for a very nominal fee. The common areas of the hotel are updated and exceed the style of the rooms. The rooms are very basic but all that you need to rest. We chose this hotel due to their pet friendly policy and would stay here again if the need arises.

The location was excellent, because it was walking distance to Museo de Antropología de Xalapa and beautiful parks, which is why I traveled to Xalapa. There is a wonderful restaurant where I had Aztec soup and Caldo tlalpeño. The breakfast buffet was filled with delicious foods that were very enjoyable. The staff when out of their way to make me feel welcomed.

Im originally from xalapa, although i dont live there anymore. this was a holiday vacation with my family to see our relatives. The hotel condition is perfect and my kids had a great time. The breakfast buffet is great! We will definitely stay at gamma next time we are in town.

The staff was very helpful. The lady at the breakfast buffet was very good at it, every day I was there she took my order with a smile. The door of my room however was not operating properly. I brought it up with maintenance but the issue was not resolved.

The location , close to the Museum five minutes away by car. Room was comfortable.. Breakfast was Included as a Genius Member. The restaurant made some pretty decent food for Lunch and at a reasonable price. Pool looked nice, but we never used it..If we return to Xalapa again this would be our first choice to look at booking a place to stay.

I loved that the hotel is eco-friendly; would stay here again for their environmental impact alone. It was clean, easy to check in, decent breakfast, very friendly staff, and exactly what we needed. Clean and spartan but adequately furnished, just a few minutes walk to Park Juerez, the main square. The building is triangular with all rooms on two floors along one leg of the triangle. My room did not have any air conditioner vents but a large vent was present in the hall just outside. In March when I was there the weather in Xapala was perfect and no air conditioning was necessary given the cooler mountain climate. The restaurant's menu is limited to mostly crepes and omlettes, but they are both fantastic and a fusion of the French crepe and Mexican tortilla dishes. It's clean and the wait and cook staff speak English.

I stayed here for a convention after the Gran Hotel was sold out and so happy I did. Service was outstanding! The bellman took care of my luggage without asking or expecting a tip. I gave him a tip anyway. He also ran my parking passes each day. The parking lot is a few doors down but very secure. No problems when I left my belongings in the car. Rooms are comparatively quite large and very clean. Great view of the mountains from my windows and balcony. Check in and out was super fast too.

We we stayed here a few nights while in Xalapa. There were a couple of restaurants within walking distance to eat at night, and breakfast was served at the hotel. Rooms were nice, with plenty of room and clean. Found the stairs a tad dangerous, see picture. Overall, it was a good stay, though.

Whether you are travelling for business or pleasure, this hotel is convenient to the center without being exactly in the busy, buy streets. This hotel would be preferred to the Holiday Inn express that is exactly in the center plaza. The service is great and the rooms are large & clean.

That its located by the mall so if you get hungry you can just walk and get all kinds of food. So it was convenient on that note.

We just stayed there in a business trip. The hotel is well located, since it's on the outskirts of the city to go easier to places, just taking the highway. The room was clean. Breakfast is barely ok, but you can't expect more on this sort of hotel.

Great stay customer service the best very friendly answered all my questions. Very clean smells very good and you can have a great nap very quiet. Breakfast need so much improvement, didn’t have taste or the same eggs with peas. Other then that was such a very good stay.

First of all, knowing this is an express kind hotel, all things said must be taken according to this. The room is good and comfy, all things are very clean and pretty functional... so if you are looking for a place to stay over the night, this is it. Service from the personal can be improved, but still good, no need for anything greater! Also you get a breakfast "buffet", although there isn't too much to choose. I would definitely stay there again.

This hotel on a very quiet little side street is spotless and features a beautiful inner garden and upstairs patio for hanging out. Conveniently located. Good value. Coffee pot with free coffee in our room each morning. Separate little restaurant for breakfast downstairs. Nice hot shower, tiled bathroom with toilet is eparate from tiled shower.

The staff at this location were amazing. They were knowledgeable about the town, and the events/activities going on that week. The food that was freshly made to order was delicious. They even washed our clothing! The location was great! Located just a couple block from the center of town. This city is very walkable, just be aware that you are on a mountain so the slopes are a bit more extreme then San Francisco. We walked at all times of the day and felt safe. Tried food from restaurants and food vendors all over, everything amazing. If you are going to Xalapa, this is the hotel to stay at. If you go please be nice to the staff, they deserve it.

This is an excellent hotel. Immaculately clean and well maintained. The staff are very friendly and the place is really well run. Great location, close to the centre, but quiet at night. Great garden to sit in and tasty breakfast on site. Our best hotel in 6 weeks of travelling in Mexico and a great price. We stayed a week!
