The cabin was gorgeous, it was cozy warm when we arrived with a fire already going & plenty of fire wood, the spa was amazing with a view! The bed was comfy, the view was AMAZING, staff were lovely & helpful. And it snowed on our anniversary which was awesome!

The cabin was incredible with comfy beds, well equipped and very clean. It had the most amazing views of Cradle Mountain. The staff were amazing - so friendly and helpful. Would love to go back and spend more time there.

The cabin was super cosy and comfortable. The surrounding area was beautiful and really close to the information centre and the pub/restaurant in town. The staff were friendly and there was wine for purchase at reception which was really helpful. Would definitely stay again. The wildlife was such a wonderful surprise too, a little friendly wombat came to visit our balcony!

We have just spent 4 night staying in the Woodsmoke cabin at the Highlander cottages in Cradle Mountain. The staff are very welcoming and friendly providing lots of helpful advice on the local attractions and amenities. Our cabin was very secluded and so quiet, immaculately clean. The kitchen is small but you want for anything, it’s very well equipped. The wood fire was all set to go for us and there was enough wood left to last you an entire winter ! There is a communal laundry which you pay $8 to use for your entire stay )includes laundry liquid) .The property is located an easy walk opposite the cradle mountain visitor centre where you can purchase park passes and shuttle bus tickets to travel to the various en route to dove lake . A couple of kms up the road is the Peppers tavern which offers easy family dining options (pizzas from $24 ). We thoroughly enjoyed this relaxing few days and can’t wait to return.

Highlanders (Woodsmoke cabin) was perfect! It is a credit to the cleaners how spotlessly clean the cabins are always presented. The pot belly fire was wonderful and the cabin was cosy, warm and comfortable. The Cradle Mountain National Park is amazing and using the bus shuttle into the National Park was easy. $15 pp for 3 days and it’s a 5 - 8 min walk from Highlanders. We did so many beautiful walks. It doesn’t matter if is sunny, raining, or snowing this is a very special part of the world and we never get tired of visiting paradise! Thank you Rachael and team for making our stay so perfect in every way. We were lucky enough again to have native visitors to our cabin porch. Many birds - yellow parrot, black currawongs, a wallaby and a pademelon. Cheers Suzanne and George

It's worth paying the premium price to be in the national park - so convenient for days of exploring. The cabin was quiet and peaceful for a great night of sleep. The small kitchen was perfect for cooking light meals, and the jacuzzi very welcome after a long hike.

Near to cradle mountain visitor centre. Convenient to do all the short trails via a short drive. Hotel provides refillable fresh milk. The cabin is very spacious. Our premium king cabin 2 bedrooms even has a jacuzzi bath tub!

Cottage was well supplied with everything we needed to cook a meal. The jacuzzi was wonderful after a day of hiking at the park.

A superb base for exploring the Cradle Mountain area. We stayed in a premium 2 bedroom chalet and it was perfect for the two of us and our baby, very spacious and clean. The kitchenette is very well appointed, good sized fridge, microwave and a small cook top, plus well stocked cupboards with utensils. We took our own breakfast items, as the on site restaurant does not do brekkie (but they do have a breakfast hamper you can order in advance which looked pretty good). Would also recommend taking some other groceries as the shop up the road has very inflated prices (not surprising though considering where you are). The takeaway pizzas were really good for when you want to stay in. We loved the guest lounge area on the property, beautiful log fire, cosy with a small bar and a great view of Cradle Mountain. We used to stay at Peppers Lodge all the time, but would argue the Cradle Mountain Wilderness Village is superior and much better value for money. Location is great (in walking distance to the visitor centre and bus stop). Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

AMAZING!!! We had the most amazing experience at the Cradle Mountain Hotel. From the moment we arrived, the service was amazing every staff member was welcoming, friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. The room was beautiful, newly renovated and incredibly clean. The bed was one of the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in! We were also blown away by the food. Every meal the steak and lamb shanks was to die for, and the buffet breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting Cradle Mountain. Easily one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had!

Very warm, cosy and clean. The lounge areas with wood fires were relaxing with beautiful forest views. The boardwalks amongst the surrounding forest were peaceful and gave easy access to walk in the snow and wilderness. I was lucky to experience a magical snowfall for the first time! The sheltered verandahs and warm fires, cosy bar and restaurant made this a wonderful and cosy experience. The staff were relaxed and welcoming. The food was delicious! The wilderness art gallery was a beautiful and interesting nearby space.

We spent 3 days at this property. It was beautiful even if the weather was not so good. Check in was great , very helpful staff who gave advice and answered all my questions. Large bedroom with tea making facilities, iron and ironing board in the room which was great as they also have a laundry room where you can use the washer and dryer free of charge. We had breakfast included which was a beautiful buffet, hot and cold with fresh bakes and juices. There are a choice of two dining options for dinner. 1 Bar Food which was delicious or if you wanted something fancier 2 Altitude Restaurant. Throughout this property there are areas where they have a stove lighting with comfortable seating, ideal to sit and read a book or plan the next days adventure. There is also an art gallery on site which was amazing and well worth a visit. Just a short distance up the road is the Cradle Mountain National Park. here also you will find the only Petrol pump we could find (in the carpark). Also about a 5 min drive from the property is where you can do a Tasmanian Devil Experience". This would need to be pre booked but definitely worth it. We loved our stay at The Cradle Mountain Hotel. Everything was perfect. The staff were incredibly welcoming & friendly with a great sense of humour. The room (king suite) was comfortable, warm on arrival, immaculately clean, bed was super comfortable and plenty big enough. The meals at the restaurant were amazing, as was the included buffet breakfast. The cradle mountain team were notified of our anniversary prior to our arrival & left us a beautiful handwritten card and complimentary bottle of champagne to celebrate. The entire team at the hotel are super thoughtful and left us wanting for nothing.

This is our third time staying here and we love it. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The servicing of the rooms was spot on. Reception staff were very helpful when we asked about seeing the Tasmanian devils. Breakfast had a good range of choices, all fresh and delicious. The bar and the restaurant served high quality meals with great wine choices. Staff were friendly and very efficient in all eating areas. Loved the cosy open fires. We will definitely be back.

A little sanctuary up in the mountains. Half way between the Cradle Mountains and the Central Coast so it's a good base to explore Cradle, the surrounding villages (love Wilmot!) and Central Coast. Love the jacuzzi in the unit, right in the forest with padamelons roaming the property.

We loved our stay and were so happy that we chose this quaint, private lodging option as it was surrounded by lovely forest and so much more affordable than the basic cabins at more posh resorts. It was less than 1/2 hour drive to Cradle Mountain hiking area but watch for animals at dusk - they are everywhere :) We stayed in the Quoll cabin and loved having two tables/chair set ups outside the main door and large window. Each day we were greeted by pademelons and a chorus of song birds. The cabin was well stocked, bedding super comfortable and the whirlpool bath / hottub was amazing after completing a long hike. The heating system was super efficient. The kitchen (equipped with a microwave and small fridge) was outfitted with everything we needed for simple meals. Check in process was super easy and there are a couple of new cafes on the corner offering amazing coffee at Blue Tree Gallery which also features a lovely array of local artisan products. The staff at nearby Cradle Gateway Cafe were super friendly but the breakfast sandwich and coffee was quite basic - they do offer dinner for pickup which is a nice option.

We took our own breakfast as we were told there was only a microwave available. We were also advised that as there was no restaurant onsite and to ensure we bring food that is suitable for microwaving or make a dinner reservation at a nearby restaurant at Cradle Mountain or Sheffield or have dinner on route. However there is a Cafe on the corner to the entrance of Cradle Forest Inn which provides breakfast, coffee, drinks etc. and has a dinner menu which you can order from, in advance of your stay.

This is a terrific place to stay. It had everything I needed. It was very comfortable and clean. The bed was comfy. It was easy to find and in a great location, providing easy access to Cradle Mountain as well as northbound and eastbound. Quiet, comfy. I highly recommend this property to anyone and would stay here again. There was a very friendly Currawong, who decided to go inside when the door was left open while I got the rest of my luggage out of the car! There were other birds around as I saw a wallaby as well.

nice and clean secluded and quiet it was stocked with e.g. extra blankets , kitchen appliances tea and coffee milk for a comfortable stay the balcony overlooking the bushland was beautiful and the curious visitor's - Pademelons made it a fun spot to stay. The parking space and ea se in driving in and out from the retreat was a good touch.

Amazing Stay The hotel is located down a long dirt track going deeper and deeper into forest, it’s peaceful, secluded and surrounded by nature. Upon arrival we were greeted by Briddie a very friendly and helpful young lady. The room was amazing. Spacious, clean, warm and inviting. The staff are wonderful. Stephen greeted us both mornings, very upbeat and friendly and extremely helpful. We dined in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Dylan was our Chef and that young man can cook! Delicious perfectly cooked and professionally presented meals, we wish we were staying longer to try more of the food that’s on offer. Finally, Briddie - she is a superstar! Receptionist, information desk, restaurant manger, bar manager, waitress - she did I all and didn’t stop! Very attentive to guests needs and wants and so friendly and professional. We would highly recommend this place, whether you are after amazing food, beautiful scenery, peace and serenity or a luxury getaway!

Tucked away in the native forest at the end of a 9km gravel road, not for the faint hearted! Our log cabin, Narrawa, was very comfortable, with a lovely gas burner for warmth and ambiance. The bathroom was luxurious and, interestingly, there was a bath tub in the lounge! The kitchen facilities were minimal - a kettle for making hot drinks. There was no microwave, no TV, no wifi in the rooms. There was wifi reception in the main log cabin - dining/ lounge/ bar area. A highlight of our stay was when the staff threw fruit and vegetable scraps on the lawn and a host of pademelons and a possum came to eat them. A clear file in the room provided helpful details and information about the room, heater, history, activities/walks, things to do in the area, restaurant and emergency procedures. There is a restaurant on site for breakfast and dinner.

Great place for a wilderness getaway... Not far from civilsation but surrounded by natural wilderness environment. Peaceful. Elevated views from chalet are wonderful but don't expect mountain or lake views... it's trees, trees, trees, shrubs and ferns all the way... but it's very serene. Access road includes a final 8km of gravel surface and despite being slightly narrow is very safe and well maintained. The road itself is very well compacted indeed and must have cost a fortune to construct so it does the job perfectly. Even in poor weather I'm sure it remains quite safe and navigable for a conventional family sedan. Small range of easy walks for those not normally confident in wilderness settings. Clean, roomy chalet. Excellent food and wine in the restaurant... small, well chosen menus, all very well priced for the quality. Helpful friendly staff.

The room was really cosy with the heater going, the bed was comfy and the hot shower was certainly a treat after a long walk to the Falls! Dinner and breakfast were wonderful and the restaurant vibe with the lights and fire going was perfect. The waitress for dinner was exceptional, running the whole dinner service with a smile and sense of humour.

This was a unique and relaxing stay! There was only one staff member that we met but she was wonderful, so warm and welcoming, so caring and thoughtful! Sad I didn’t get her name. Incredible customer service that really made our stay! The room was sizeable with great heating. The spa was comfortable and indulgent. The sheets were clean and the bed was comfortable. The view from the room was gorgeous! There’s lots of walks to do in the area and a really interesting place with a unique story, set away from everything else. I’m sad we only stayed one night as I’d like to come back and do a longer stay to really make the most of things. There’s a huge common room with games, books and TV which I’d love to sit and enjoy a wine in. This was such an enjoyable stay, with a delicious and hearty breakfast- I’ll definitely be coming back!

The location was amazing! The wildlife at your door is incredible - we saw an echidna and wombat within minutes of arriving. The local platypus was a bonus! The lodge is set up to create a wood cabin feel with big cozy leather lounges, fire places and games. You can have a coffee or hot chocolate while enjoying the atmosphere. The rooms were very comfortable, bed super big and cozy, spa bathtub fabulous for soaking tired muscles and the rooms provided crockery and cutlery if you had your own Tassie produce to eat which meant you don’t need to buy at the near by restaurants if you come prepared. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, although at peak times the team are really working hard to keep up! A little kindness and politeness and they are very happy to help you or get what you need. Bishal on the restaurant and tavern was an added bonus - smiling and welcoming on our arrival each time and went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met! Lovely guy! All the team were lovely, he particularly stood out. We used the spa for a massage and a session at the sanctuary - the spa and sauna was both working and was AMAZING! Staying with such easy access to the national park and the beautiful local surrounds and wildlife is well worth the money. You are paying for the experience, the surrounds and a very cosy and comfortable stay with a highly suitable vibe and atmosphere that is exactly what you imagine a lodge to be.

We loved the location, ranger station where the bus stops is just a few mins of walk away. Enchanted Walk is within the grounds of the lodge. We booked a balcony room which had an amazing view of the lake. Room was very cozy and clean. The on site tavern/bistro meal offerings were good, a fancier restaurant is also available for when celebrating something special. Waldheim Alpine spa was also in the lodge which is a bonus. All the staff we have dealt with have been very helpful and friendly. Also, the free buffet breakfast is really great as we did not have to think where to get a meal early morning given that the area is very remote. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit.

The location is great, close to the national park and trails. We saw a lot of wildlife animals around the property. The general atmosphere is warm and has an old charm feeling. The cabin is comfortable and feels warm and welcoming. All facilities in the room are functional and well maintained. The communication is excellent from the reservation team, front office, and housekeeping. All the requests passed on correctly. Check-in was smooth and informative, and staff members were very friendly and helpful. The room was well clean and excellent the quality of Bedsheets and towals. F&B We had meals every day, breakfast, lunch, and dinner during our stay. The food was good and tasty, but there was some hit and missed on someday. For example, we found a long hair in one of the dishes but staff apologised and changed a new dish straight away.

Cradle mountain lodge is one of our favourite places to stay. The cabins are cosy & comfortable with everything you need. Breakfast was delicious with a barista coffee included which is an extra that most places don’t include. Staff were fabulous, helpful & friendly. The ambiance of the main lodge with restaurant, bar, tavern, lounge & open fireplaces is the main reason we continue to choose Cradle Mountain Lodge as our base when we visit the area for hiking.

The breakfast served all worked tastes with cooked breakfast ad well as continental available, but my favourite on these cold mornings was the porridge with the cinnamon apple and berry compote! Coffee was very good and second cups were available if requested. Dinner at the Highland restaurant was superb and our waitress was so helpful friendly and engaging. It is however a little pricey so we had dinner there only on our first night and chose the tavern for the next to evenings.

The Jacuzzi is great . The kitchen is good. The reclining chair is great - so comfortable n relaxing.

The apartment was clean, comfortable, spacious, cozy, and quiet. It had a wood burning stove (wood supplied). The location was about a 25-minute drive to Cradle Mountain National Park, where there is plenty of hiking and scenery. We had a full-size kitchen (full-size refrigerator, etc.), so we prepared our own meals, since there is no restaurant nearby. The lodging supplied breakfast items such as eggs, bacon, milk, butter, jam, and milk. We bought our own juice and fruit. The closest restaurant is at Cradle Mountain Hotel at the park, but we didn't want to drive after dark, so we bought our groceries in Sheffield (half hour drive) before arriving to the lodging. If you want to have an early meal or lunch, there is a cafe at the visitor's center in the park (open to 4/5 PM) and the restaurant at Cradle Mountain Hotel.

We had a very pleasant to night stay here. The accommodation was fine. The room was very clean and the facilities fine. The location was good with Sheffield and Cradle Mountain National Park both within a short drive. The nearby restaurant was very handy and we had an enjoyable dinner here on both nights. The road is noisy at night, used by trucks, but this was not a big issue. Overall a very enjoyable stay in a convenient location.

We enjoyed our stay in the largest place we have stayed since arriving Tassie. It was nice to have a covered place to park our car. The chalet is not luxurious, but very comfortable with everything you need. Loved that the kitchen had a hot plate in addition to a fridge, etc., since I brought my own coffee and expresso maker. And you can drink the water, so we filled up all of our bottles. The bed was just like we like it. And we really appreciated having an electric blanket. Because even in summer, it’s cold as the dickens here. But we are from the sunshine state, Florida, USA. Porch is nice, but too cold for us to enjoy. Heater works well, and we loved that. Kitchen has all you need, including a hot plate! We’ve been wanting one since arriving Hobart. Great location. Not too far from Cradle Mountain. But you are remote and there are few restaurants about. Which means you pay top dollar for horrible food. Like Forest Inn, just across the street. We drove to Sheffield for dinner one night. Gorgeous drive. Sitting here writing this review looking out at trees and nature. Beautiful. Would recommend but bring your own food. And know that you won’t have internet. And maybe not even phone service. OK for us. But not for everyone.

Stayed in cabins for two nights in August. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Cabins are amazing. Warm as toast, well appointed, comfortable and came with cheese and chocolates! Bed was comfortable. The cabins are quite private with a fabulous ‘in the forrest’ feeling. The reception has a little shop for necessities and the cabin kitchens are well appointed. The bathroom is luxurious with a beautiful bath, and the shower pressure and water temperature perfect. We were with friends who were in the next cabin and agreed the cabins were fabulous. Only feedback they gave was perhaps to have the TV on an arm so the screen could be more in line with the bed or couch. I travel a lot and this accomodation is superb, highly recommended.

We stayed during winter. Although the wood fire heater was out of order, there was central heating, and another warm heater, and electric blankets. The beds and couch were comfortable. The kitchenette was very handy and equipped with most things like dishwashing liquid. Nice warm bathroom and shower equipped with basic toiletries. It's not a fancy looking place but thought has been put into what guests might need and find useful and those things are provided well. The staff were very accommodating. If you forget or don't want to bring supplies, the kiosk is well stocked. The area where cabins are located was quiet and peaceful. It's located just a few minutes walk to the visitor centre where the shuttle buses take you to the various hiking trails. For people who are travelling without a car, you can get McDermott's coach from Launceston to the Discovery park, walk to the visitor centre and get shuttle buses to trails. There's also a small luggage room if needed before and after checkout times. Just a lovely, cosy place to return to after a long day of hiking.

Very luxurious cabin, new, modern, clean, spacious, fabulous kitchen and bathroom. Very quiet. The bath (with bath salts provided) was very relaxing. Cheese, chocolate and bubbles also provided. An outside deck at back of cabin. Great location close to the visitor centre where you catch the buses into the park, also close to Devils at Cradle, which is worth a visit. Small shop on site where basics and food can be purchased. Coffee at the visitor centre. Glad we stayed here and not Peppers, which looks very tired (popped in there for a meal after walking in the park).

The deluxe cabin was very clean and comfortable for 4 people, with modern minimalist design and furniture. It was equipped with great heater and cooking facilities. The friendly staff handled our check-in and check-out efficiently. The office also offered some grocery that was really helpful since we arrived at Cradle Mountain without much food. The cabin was located in a quiet and peaceful area that provided a good restoration after hiking.

This would have to be the best accommodation we have stayed in throughout Tasmania! The Premium Cabins at Cradle Mountain Discovery Park are amazing didn’t want to leave from the king size bed to the underfloor heating was just beautiful! Fluffy bath robes supplied……. A great gas fireplace! Electric blinds & beautiful sheer curtains it’s just pure luxury! Full size kitchen with everything that you need to cook a Sunday roast if you wanted too. The bathroom has a large bath big fluffy bath towels & a great shower with a rain head! again pure luxury! There is a back deck which faces the bush there is a table & chairs to enjoy a quiet drink while enjoying the serenity. I recommend if you are going to Cradle Mountain & need accommodation then give the lodge a big miss & stay here you won’t regret it you’ll think you’re on your honeymoon again just amazing! Great value half the price of the Cradle Mountain Lodge! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this accommodation it was pure joy to

+ Easy to spot at night, it's right on the main road out of the area. Super super quiet area so when something goes past it can unfortunately sound louder than it probably is (especially trucks and loud motorbikes) + Super communicative and helpful host (Anita was great and responded within a reasonable time - relatively quickly usually) + Cabins as clean as can be when considering where they are so no real complaints, it's an old building so also expect some creaky floors. Yes there were cobwebs in places but not a real issue for me personally. + Hot water and mini bathtub after a long day was relaxing + Basic heater and electric blankets (although I stayed in summer so it wasn't an issue) + Kettle and microwave some basic bowls and washing up equipment to clean up after your stay + Iron and hairdryer + Satellite TV (not that I watched it but when I turned it on out of curiosity the reception seemed pretty good) + Cradle NP area is pretty expensive last minute so the 20-30min drive was fine for me to the property, the awesome cafe making real coffee at reasonable prices made up for it!!

A cosy and quiet getaway! The staff (I believe the new owners) were incredibly lovely, willing to go above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and enjoyable. All amenities were clean and kitchenette was well stocked. Will definitely go back and recommend to others!

Very accommodating host happy to share her knowledge of the Cradle Mountain area and fit in with your plans. Good decent sized well-appointed cabin with very comfy bed. Convenient location for Cradle Mountain (easy 30km - 20 mins drive). Decent cafe for breakfast which opens early (with good coffee) and can also order tasty home cooked dinners delivered to your rooms (pumpkin soup was superb) for the evenings. Wonderful to see small wallabies / pademelons grazing outside the window. For a city dweller, the night skies are superb (try to find a dark spot out of the street and Cradle Gateway lighting). Wifi was reliable and important given that reception in general in the area is poor. Note that there are no shops or anything so get snacks, drinks etc from Deloraine or Sheffield on the way in. Microwave, toaster, crockery, cutlery, basic utensils etc in the cabin so could also self cater simple breakfasts (though I ate at the cafe).

Lovely chalet around 25 mins from Cradle Mountain. Cosy apartment with comfy beds and clean bathroom. Attentive host. Has a cafe attached to the apartments which was great for breakfast in the morning, with great coffee.

Anita is an excellent host and goes out of her way to ensure your stay is relaxing and comfortable - even providing you with epsom salts for a long soak after a day of hiking on Cradle Mountain 😃. The chalet room was well appointed, clean and cosy and only a short 30 min trip to the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre. The room rates are certainly value for money. A very enjoyable stay.

Tiny Escapes @ Cradle Mountain is absolutely amazing! The accommodation is super cute and exceptionally clean—everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay is provided. The location is perfect, tucked away off the grid but still close enough for easy access to all the breathtaking hikes and waterfalls in the area. It’s the ideal spot for nature lovers and those looking to unwind in a peaceful setting. The space is cozy, well-appointed, and made for relaxation. On top of that, the host was very responsive, accommodating, and professional, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a serene getaway, and I will definitely be back for another relaxing stay. A true gem!

Exceptional from the word go, from the easy fuss free check in, to the stunning view from our gorgeous tiny home. The peace and quiet made for such a tranquil and relaxing time. The property had everything we needed, from home amenities to plenty of firewood for romantic moments by the fire. This was the perfect location for me to get down on one knee and propose to my beautiful partner... Thankfully she said yes:) There was a lovely moderate level walking trail down to a nice river, with Padymelons at our front door. Highly recommend this property for anyone wanting to spend time in Cradle, even driving around the property was absolutely lovely.

We love the high country. The cabin is super neat and cosy, the heating is perfect. We got some light snow, so light it melted as it hit, while cooking on our mini barby next to the lit fire pit, that was magical. Thanks for the firewood. When it rained it was perfect and cosy...the facilities, the little extra condiments, the WiFi and movies. The heating was perfect. Perfect

The view from Myrtle was of expansive forested hills. The wrap around windows and glass balcony ensured we could enjoy the view from everywhere even though the weather was very changeable. The ‘house’ is great - exceptionally well equipped (everything you could think of needing was there) including an oven and hob. Comfortable sofa, great shower with good water pressure and a good bed (obviously you need to be careful of your head on one side of the bed and those with limited mobility may struggle with the steps). This is a lovely place to stay if you like peace, quiet and being in amongst nature.

The tiny house is well off the main road - the way to your cottage is easily navigated and well signposted. We stayed in Myrtle, which has a beautiful view across the river valley below. The cabin feels quite spacious and lots of thought has gone into the design. It feels very private and peaceful. Lovely hot shower. And it is only a short drive to Cradle Mountain NP for walks and dinner.
