Stayed in Mid November 24. Loved the hotel, loved Merano. Upon check in we were upgraded to a large nice modern room. Design was fab, with a large walk in wardrobe and large lounge area. View of apple groves. The exterior of the hotel was well landscaped. The spa facilities were comprehensive, with a good sized heated pool, saunas, ample quiet chill areas. We had a massage session- the masseur was good. Service was very good; breakfast and dinner was good too. The steak was especially memorable. Merano is beautiful in autumn with the hillside walks and walks by the river with the autumn colors. The hotel is a nice 10-15 minute walk into town. Wonderful stay

All the spaces are very intimates, flowers everywhere. The Hotel is not in the center so they provided bus ticket, which make the center of Meran very easily accessible. The property is clean and the staff is friendly. Bed is comfortable. The whole place is quiet, well thought and nicely decorated. The breakfast was really nice in an open air restaurant. At arrival we were invited for a special drink which was delicious. I also enjoyed the shop they have selling a lot of small items you can find in the property. Great experience, will definitely go back and recommend.

This was one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. From the arrival until the end, everything was perfect, every wish fulfilled. The staff was very nice, we even got a softer materess or a breakfast to go when we asked for it! Morning yoga and evening meditations are included! The outside pool was just stunning, the whole area so relaxing. From the spa, we liked the infrarot sauna the best. In the mornings, we were presented a huge breakfast buffet and very tasty coffee. I would love to come back!

If you are planning to visit Merano this is the place to stay. It is a family run hotel and nothing is too much trouble. All the staff are friendly and helpful. We first stayed there two years ago and it was great but since then it has had a major renovation and it is even better now. We were upgraded to a Garden Suite which had a fantastic view over the great pool area to the mountains. There is a good choice including cook to order egg dishes at breakfast and the included afternoon cake buffet is an added bonus. Since our last visit more English is spoken but we did wish we could understand the daily news letter as we felt we might be missing out on some interesting facts or activities. We’ll definitely return if in the area again, it is a fantastic hotel.

Responsive and friendly staff. They offer a city card that gives you free access to local busses/trams and some museum discounts. Great breakfast, too. Will definitely be staying here again.

The location right in the center of the center 😁. The room was amazing, very large, clean, comfortable, AC. Huge bathroom, with bathtub, walk-in shower, bidet. The staff very helpful. The voucher for a welcome drink nearby was a nice gesture.

The room was sumptuous. All mod cons and lots of facilities to make tea and coffee. Lovely fluffy cosy pillows, beds and duvets and the dressing gowns provided were very luxurious. The receptionist was friendly and the breakfast was just perfect.

Everything- staff were so helpful and the room was lovely. Some great touches - local wine and nibbles to buy from the mini bar and a lovely balcony to enjoy them on

Avidea is the best hotel we have ever stayed in. It was so peaceful (adults only) from the moment we arrived, and the staff had thought of absolutely everything in order to make our stay perfect. The views are stunning, the hotel is on the beautiful Algunder Waalweg, the food was delicious from breakfast to dinner, with a huge variety, something for everyone, and the staff took care of our special dietary requirements without us even having to remind them each day. The spa and rooftop pool were superb and we enjoyed our massages very much. We would love to return one day! Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so perfect.

The hotel is beautiful and so well maintained. We visited in August and enjoyed both pools. The staff were really lovely and service was excellent. This is mainly German speaking but all staff were very happy to speak in English. The food was awesome. Such a good spread for breakfast and light lunch. Dinner is excellent and different menus each evening. There are nice walking trails straight out of the hotel. We would come back here again and again.

Everything about this place is amazing! The view, food, customer service, spa, etc. Big kudos to Jacquline in the restaurant area for her outstanding service. What a hidden gem! I’ll definitely be back!!!

When we arrive at the hotel we have the impression of being home in a large family property. Warm welcoming. We were in the main building with a view of the mountains and the first swimming pool. The room is modern. The terrace area is large but thanks to the sophisticated decoration there are plenty of small and intimate corners. It also offers games near the bar (baggamon, cards, chess, etc.) so you feel like you're at home.There are garden areas with chairs near the trees. It’s so cosy. There are two magnificent swimming pools. The SPA is very beautiful and the reading/silent room is beautiful. For Art’s lovers it is interesting and modern. Beautiful works everywhere. Like in a big house. The breakfast buffet is magical. Magnificent table with a great chef. Delicious. We feel good in the « apple fruits « region. AC works well - rooms all facing south.

The breakfast was excellent, with so many great choices for adults and children. We never dreamed about the amazing view we had from the hotel. The three swimming pools were great; we could use all of them, which kids enjoyed the most. All the staff were friendly and helpful and smiling all the time. We would love to come back and we'll recommend this hotel to everyone. Thank you for a great experience.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, spacious, and well-designed and with a very comfortable bed. The staff were friendly, professional, and always ready to help. One of the highlights was the breakfast - great variety with fresh ingredient. The location was also perfect - in the centre of Merano, close to local attractions and restaurants. I especially appreciated the quiet atmosphere despite being in a central area. Overall, it felt like a relaxing and well-managed place to stay.

Valentina is a gracious host and puts on a wonderful breakfast spread, with delicious croissants and tasty fruit tarts among other delicious treats including sliced meats and cheeses, and has an efficient self-serve cappucino/coffee machine. She also makes scrambled eggs to order, with a sunny bright room where breakfast is served, just lovely. One can appreciate all the work Valentina has put in to make her B&B a most enjoyable experience. Located in the center of the old town center, you feel a part of the town the moment you emerge on the street. We can't say enough how lovely her place is. We highly recommend it!

The location was wonderful. Right in the centre of the pedestrian shopping street and restaurants and bars, but the room was very quiet. The decor was delightful, clean and stylish. The presentation and quality of the food for breakfast was excellent. I loved the home made jams and cakes and the breakfast room was delightful.

A very great cosy Hotel in the hard of Meran. We love Meran and stayed the first time in this Hotel. Spacious, clean and bright bedrooms, great facilities and spa area, beautiful location, exceptional breakfast buffet. Well connected for trips to Merano and elsewhere in the area with a bus stop within very short walking distance. We loved our stay!

A really nice hotel, set at the foot of the mountains, the inside conversion of the rooms was a real surprise. Beautiful finished in wood, with a big double bed and a bathtub in the room. Great room to relax. We had a set dinner included in the price and the food was truly surprisingly good. Followed by a great breakfast it was a great stay.

Bolzano Bozen is 30 minutes east while Stelvio Pass is 90 minutes west - Plenty of free onsite parking - Beautiful grounds with a lawn, outdoor chairs, and lots of flower pots - Spacious apartment: 2 bedrooms each with its own bathroom and a full-functioning kitchen - Fully renovated bathrooms with new faucets and showers - Large and comfortable beds - Breakfast (starts at 8am) is not included in the apartment's rate but the host offered us pastries - great if you leave after 7:30am

My daughters and I loved the place! Very beautiful location, the 02 bedrooms / 02 bathrooms with a kitchen, has a very good size, cleaned, comfortable, calm and the staff very nice and kind! This is the place to return more times!

This is one of those finds, when you are traveling, that will make for a most wonderful memory. Beautifully designed hotel, the architect and owners paid attention to the smallest details. We have especially enjoyed the terrace with wonderful panoramic view. The cuisine is scrumptious made of high quality products. The breakfast buffet was extensive and the Friday dessert buffet was exceptional. Service is professional, attentive, friendly and ranks just about as high as food quality. Top staff, special thanks to Laurin, Dominik and Hausmeister :-) The heated indoor/outdoor pool and the forest sauna with mountain view are amazing. The entire place provides relaxing atmosphere. A big thank you to the Bad Fallenbach team for making our stay so memorable.

The staff is really friendly and hospitable, apartment beautiful and spacious with big bath and shower, also very clean and has all you need, the view of the mountains was beautiful. The breakfast buffet is delicious and other food is also really great. It is very peaceful and quiet. Sauna in the forest and infusions in sauna are a spot on and they also have daily activities like walk, cycling, going on every day..

We booked this hotel for a family vacation. Positives: Room was nice and spacious, the pool indoor/outdoor was nice, breakfast was excellent. Friendly staff and helpful. Nice area if you like to be around nature. Negatives: Found the bed to be not completely comfortable. Dinner was good but perhaps not worth the price. We found some spots in the city we preferred that were much more affordable. The positives definitely outweighed the negatives, we had a very nice stay and would consider coming back.

The food is very good (pizza is particularly recommended) and the restaurant is excellently run by Donatello, who is very professional and made us feeling at home. The overall atmosphere was great, the view is excellent, and the whole experience was very positive. Definitely recommend for a relaxing weekend!

Amazing dinner and breakfast. All the food are extraordinary. The vegetables and fruits are all organic and have real taste. It is not the same thing at the supermarket. Best breakfast that i ever had this year.

There was so much to do at the resort. We enjoyed the vast amount of options for swimming and spas, it was very relaxing. There was also so many activities to keep us busy when we wanted some adventure. The food was excellent and the staff were great during our stay.

The location and the venue are simply great! We enjoyed the pools and SPA, the room was very clean and comfy. And the stuff was very friendly and helpful!

The food is excellent. We went half board and it was worth every penny. Pampered at Breakfast and Dinner. High standard of food as well. Not one dish at night can we say we didn't like and the alternative option was ideal for our daughter. Facilities for families, which we were are really good as well. The Pool where families tend to be is really nice and if you want something more tranquil the other pools offer that. Kids club is a good helpful option as well.

The location and facilities is perfect for cycling, hiking, etc or simply seat back, relax and shutdown. Garden and Spa, beautifully setup, I give 10 points to it. The evening dinner is amazing, not regreted taking the half-board package.

Clean and well situated with two pools - inside and outside. Warm, helpful staff. The rooms were welcoming with dressing gowns, slippers and a mini bottle of prosecco provided as an added touch. And of course, stunning views from our balcony. :)

Owners where very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great and so was the staff. We got an upgrade and we had a gorgeous view over Meran.

Thomas was very friendly and care about everythig. Accomodation offer some books and leaflets with trips, we used it. Even we were there out of season only guests, we have perfect breakfest and whirpool. I highly recommend it.

Wonderful place very close to city center, the rooms are well equiped and they have a lovely wellness area right in the vineyard, which creates an even more enjoyable atmosphere . Breakfast is very good as well. I would definitely recommend it to a friend!

I liked very much the kindness of the property, the position of the b&b which is very close to the center but ensuring a good privacy either, big swimming pool a whirlpool and a sauna which allows to relax yourself after the daily trekkings. Very good and abundant the breakfast.

Wow what a great stay and unfortunate that we only had 2 nights. I highly recommend these suites. The suite is large with wonderful decor and appointments that i'm confident would impress travellers. Dominique and her daughter Aurelie were amazing hosts. Friendly, full of helpful advice and made us feel we were at home. If you going to Merano this is definitely the place to stay. For us it was 12 out of 10. PS. Go on the chairlift to the restaurant and go on the terrace and order some wine and cheese platter, good views and relaxing few hours to spend.

From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Aurélie and her family, who run the place with genuine care and attention. We regularly saw them at Kuntinos – the lovely café on the ground floor serving delicious light dishes (breakfast, lunch, snacks) and drinks. The whole family made us feel right at home. The apartments are spacious, modern, and spotlessly clean – serviced daily with great care. The entire infrastructure is sleek and contemporary, offering a very comfortable and enjoyable experience. Highly recommended!

The most beautiful suite in Merano. The most incredible location and room. The room was incredibly spacious, modern and seemed brand new! The suite was soo clean and included gorgeous spacious bathrooms (one in each room) and even an extra bed in a little nook. Beautifully designed and so functional! The kitchen and living room area was especially beautiful - big, spacious, practical and amazing for a family. I really appreciated how accommodating and amazing the hosts were. We will be back!!!

We stumbled upon this incredible family-run hotel in the center of Merano, and what a find it was! Perfectly located right in the heart of old town with charming shops and restaurants, making it an ideal base for exploring. Originally, we only booked one night—but we loved it so much, we stayed for two! The hotel is run by the warmest, most welcoming family, who also operate the wonderful on-site restaurant and a leather goods store just downstairs. Their hospitality was truly top-notch—from the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. The suites are stylish, spacious, immaculate, and appear brand new! We almost don’t want to write this review because once the word gets out, it might be impossible to book again! :) The restaurant is absolutely worth dining at—so good, in fact, we ate there twice. Not only is the food fantastic (and they serve wonderful iced coffee—which can be difficult to find in Italy!), but sitting outside on the patio was nice and complete with plenty of adorable dog sightings. Merano itself is a stunning town, and staying here made our experience even more special. Can’t recommend it highly enough!

Schönes Zimmer, alles sauber und sehr freundliche aufmerksame Mitarbeiter überall. Das Hotel liegt recht zentral an der Passer (der Fluss durch Meran, der die Altstadt von den übrigen Stadtteilen trennt und auch neben der Meraner Promenade verläuft). Zu Fuss sind es nur ein paar hundert Meter, etwa 5 Minuten zur Promenade. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Mauro and Cristina are excellent hosts, some of the best we have encountered! They have a beautiful hotel which shows great pride of ownership! The service they provided us was amazing, from guidance and tips on things to do in and around Merano, to restaurant tips, driving directions, local happenings, etc. The room we stayed in was very comfortable, nice bathroom, good space. And the location is excellent, right off the river promenade, very close to center of city and all activities, including many beautiful walks. We had a rental car and Mauro was very helpful in parking it for us in the hotel garage (convenient 10 euro daily fee). Buffet breakfast was very good, with assorted fresh fruits, breads, meats and sweets. Great cappuccino (and other coffee drinks), incomparable service. We highly recommend the Windsor for stays in Merano and if we return we will definitely stay again! 5 stars for sure!!

It is a very nice and relaxing hotel. You will be well taken care of by friendly and helpful staff. The personnel is throughout very friendly and forthcoming and gives the feeling of being very welcome anytime anywhere in the hotel. The facilities especially the sky spa is excellent, situated in the middle of the city and through its placement on the roof top providing a quiet and secluded atmosphere. The food is also delicious. The breakfast buffet is one of the best I have seen anywhere. Great fresh and high quality products (salmon, fruits, pancakes, cold cuts, tea fresh orange juice and much more). In the evening there is a nice lounge/bar with cozy ambiente before enjoying the dinner in a big room, which is setup in a way to still enjoy privacy despite many people. The 5 course dinner is a delight! We will be back for sure.

The hotel had excellent location in the center of Merano close to the pedestrian shopping street that includes cafes and restaurants. Additionally the location is just opposite the wonderful river with its relaxing and sometimes roaring drifts. The hotel have very modern rooms and beautiful balconies overlooking the river. The service, food, staff assistance, breakfast were superb. The car garage underneath the hotel premisses is very convenient.

Set in the heart of Merano with stunning views of the mountains, this hotel was superb. Spacious rooms, super clean, the most amazing buffet breakfast ever (try the muesli yogurt, omelettes, cappuccinos and cake selection - wow!). The hotel spa area is OK with three small pools, but it also links to the main thermal baths at no extra charge. These are the best Thermal baths I have been to with a wide range of indoor and outdoor pools and jacuzzis.

Very interesting experience, the taste one at the restaurant for the huge breakfast and the terrific dinner were astonishing! The rooms are very bad in my opinion, with non comfortable beds, small (not big as shown in the pictures) and also very bad showers. Sky bar/pool and garden spa, fine. The sky pool in the morning is absolutely amazing, I suggest you to try. Unfortunately the Terme of Merano doesn't follow Covid19 rules. People without masks everywhere, also in the changing room where men and women are together in small spaces.

I really appreciated being able to have my lunches out when I was exploring Merano, and then return in the evening for an exceptional dinner. Villa Tivoli is a jewel.

Hotel Villa Tivoli is an exceptionally nice property in a very peaceful location - with a nice view over the orchards - just outside the center of Meran. The hotel is made special by it's owners - the Defranceschi-Steiner family - who actively manage the hotel and participate in the daily operations - at the reception, in the restaurant, etc. The breakfast is superb, with an unusually large choice of breads, cheeses, vegetables, porridges, spreads, jams, etc. to choose from. The restaurant (for dinners) has a wide range of delicious fares to choose from. The two pools - one on the side of the mountain in the level of the 5th floor with a spectacular view, and another in the ground floor - are a delight, as well as the spacious and well-kept rooms. There are several nice walks/hiking paths available right from the hotel or from nearby, including also the famous Tappeinerweg. We will definitely go stay at Villa Tivoli again when next time in Meran.

This charming old-world European gem, surrounded by enchanting gardens, exudes timeless elegance. The rooms are wonderfully spacious with high ceilings, creating an atmosphere of comfort and grace. Breakfast was an absolute delight – fresh, beautifully prepared, and served with genuine warmth on the terrace overlooking the valley. The South Tyrolean specialties, including a variety of fruit compotes, were exceptional, and the coffee with warm milk, served in elegant silverware, added a touch of sophistication. My only very small suggestion (which in no way detracts from the superior experience) would be to provide a firmer, thicker pillow option in the room, as the current ones were a bit too soft for my personal preference. But again. I understand this is a personal preference. Everything else was simply perfect. 👌

Our stay at Villa Tivoli was very relaxing and enjoyable. The hotel is a paradise for those who like to stay away from city centers and noise. It is surrounded by nature, vineyards and Apple trees fields. From the hotel the center is only 20 min walk, as well as many hiking paths also reachable from the hotel. Outdoor, indolor pools and sauna also very nice after an active day. The staff of the hotel are very welcoming and friendly, and the breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfast I have ever had. The fruit cakes and the Kompotte were very delicious.

We were given the upgraded room which is facing the apple plantation. The room is very spacious and comfortable. Rodolfo (not sure I have the correct spelling) is very welcoming and an excellent host. The restaurant chef (not sure his name) knew what we wanted and so we had our dinner at the restaurant on both nights. The property is also close to the Merano town.

It is rare to find a hotel at this price point (about €70 a night, single) that is so perfect in all possible ways. It would still be great value even at twice the price. The hotel is located in a very quiet, park-like residential neighborhood about 1.5 km from the city center. The walk to the city center is along a quiet, tree-lined street - very pleasant. It is immaculately clean and offers all the modern amenities - fast and free wi-fi, complimentary coffee all day, complimentary bottled water in the rooms, delightful common areas with books, magazines, comfortable chairs, etc., a swimming pool, a hot tub, free parking, free use of an indoor garage for secure storage of motorcycles or bicycles, etc. Breakfast is absolutely superb. I have stayed at hotels costing €400 a night that do not offer as good a breakfast buffet as the Hotel Zima. Every possible hot and cold dish you could want is available, even Spumanti! This is a family hotel that is operated by several generations of the same family. Everyone is very gracious and hospitable, the proprietors are like concierges. It is a rare gem of a hotel, I simply cannot say enough good things about it.

We spent 2 nights here in mid July when the weather was very hot. The Hotel Zima is a small hotel located in a quiet, leafy residential area on the outskirts of Merano with a bus stop, and regular buses very near by. It is only a short trip into the centre of Merano where there is good shopping and interesting historical buildings. The owner Frau Christina could not have been more welcoming or helpful. We had a wonderful breakfast each morning on the shady outside terrace, even though surrounded by high mountains it seemed almost semi tropical looking out over the gardens. The rooms were of a good size with comfortable beds and for our room a large balcony. The outside pool was a welcome relief after spending 5+ hours in the wonderful and nearby Trauttmansdorff Castle gardens which should not be missed. A real gem of a hotel with a warm welcoming feeling.

We stayed here with a group of 9 while cycling from the Reschenpass in Austria to Verona. The hotel was very comfortable, and, a great plus for us, they had a number of single rooms. All the rooms were well-furnished and comfortable, and had beautiful views of the surrounding scenery and the garden. The rooms also had balconies. The breakfast was amazing. Even with our cyclists' appetites we were unable to do justice to it. Meran is a wonderful place to visit and we were very happy with our accommodation. The owners were very friendly and helpful and recommended a good restaurant for us in town. The Trautmannsdorf Gardens were only a short walk away.

We stayed here for one night in early October so we did not experience the pool, gardens or terrace. The hotel is situated in a quiet, leafy area a short walk from the town, parking is available. We arrived in the afternoon and received a warm and friendly welcome. The reception area, dining room and lounge are up a flight of stairs but there is a small lift on the next floor. Our room, up one flight of stairs from reception, was of a good size as as was the en suite which contained a shower cubicle; tissues and soap were provided. The pillows were rather soft for me but we both slept well. The hotel provided a very good breakfast, much more than the usual continental breakfast. The balcony afforded us views to the hills and to the vineyards. It seems a popular area for walkers. We paid E126 in total.

What a gem of a hotel. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I wasn’t expecting too much for the price but I was pleasantly surprised. It was my favourite hotel this trip The rooms are exceptionally clean, a decent size and modern whilst the common areas still have some old world charm. Breakfast was a good variety but only boiled eggs for hot food. It was served in a charming conservatory and the hotel provided the Guest Card for free local travel. There is a fabulous outdoor pool and garden and an indoor spa. I would have liked to stay here longer

The location of the hotel is good if you want to visit Meran but you are not staying there. It's also good for some hiking. Other then that, the village is small, there isn't much there. However they have 2 ok restaurants but you need to reserve. The hotel is in good condition, the rooms are nice, bathroom was spacious, the mattress was a bit hard and the pillows not the best. Sauna area is small but nice and was never full. Breakfast was okay, not super special but just fine. Room cleaning was okay but it could be better. One day it was good but the other two days there were things on the floor and the room was smelling bad after cleaning. After airing out it was fine. The storage thing was that the cleaning personnel was always in the mornings around 8:30 am waiting in front of our room but I guess we just had the room where they hang out. You can drive by car to Bolzano or to Meran but you can also conveniently take the bus. We liked both Meran and Bolzano so it's worth a trip in our opinion.

The room I stayed in was modern, large enough, elegant, spotless, with comfortable bed and efficient air conditioning. The breakfast is extremely good in terms of variety, quality, taste. Moreover I was given a Merano card which I used to access free public transportation and some touristic attractions. I also booked dinner at the hotel's restaurant and it was a delicious and very pleasant experience.

Everything was stellar! Starting from the front desk. The front desk was where true hospitality starts and sets the course for your stay and they really delivered, even exceeded expectations. One of the best The facilities and location were perfect. The room was lovely, with a balcony in the annex overlooking the garden and pool area. Breakfast and dinner was as expected from a quality 4 star. Thank you front desk for being the best in Italy in my opinion.

This is a gem of a place close to the center of town, really enjoyed our stay here! The breakfast is a really nice spread and the evening meal is great value with €35 per head, never left feeling hungry. Plenty of parking and bike cellar. Room was clean and comfy and with a fridge but I think what really makes it, is the staff, they are awesome!

Excellent hotel! We spend a week for skiing, it was the best ski vacation ever. The ski lift is near by, 50 m from the hotel with direct acces from the slope. The spa area is very beautiful with an area for everyone with one inside and one outside pool comunicating each other, a baby pool and a jacuzzi, with sauna and hammam. Another area is adult reserved with 2 saunas, jacuzzi pool, kneipp pools and relaxing areas. Tea and water are offered by the hotel with oranges and apples. The appartement is huge with 2 rooms, terrace and a bathroom. Dinner is rafined, delicious and for all tastes. Alpine menu, italian menu and light menu are proposed every evening, but you can choose between dishes. Light lunch is complementary and very good- actually a vegetarian salad bar. Good wines- local and national are proposed for an extra cost. The bar is excellent with great music. Everybody is very kind, I felt like a princess all day long. The manager is very kind, always there and all the hotel crew is top, from the ladies in housekeeping, to the spa experts, reception staff, waiters and bartenders. So, thank you very much for this excellent week, we enjoyed it every single moment!

The stay at the hotel was extremely pleasant. The staff were friendly and helpful, the forest spa was excellent, food was great, the room was large, the view from the terrace was wonderful. The ski area right next to the hotel, ski in - ski out and also the ski storage room is excellent. Above all, I would like to thank you for the birthday surprise at dinner, really thoughtful of you! 🥰Thank you for an unforgettable winter fairy tale experience.

The room was very clean, modern decor and spacious. A good sized terrace overlooking the heated pool and well cured gardens with views to the surrounding mountains and apple groves. The bathroom is modern with a wide walk in shower. A big plus was the sauna which we were not aware of. The breakfast was ample. Large variety of bread. The staff is very attentive and ready to accommodate. The walk to the center of Merano was about 15mins through pleasant roads with beautiful houses along the way. We also walked to Trauttmansdorff but then we are good walkers. I have no idea how public transport works in the area.

We returned yesterday from a 10 day stay at the Hotel Salgart. This was with Inghams and our first visit to this area. This is a lovely place to stay. Our room overlooked the pool and had beautiful mountain views. The rooms have been recently refurbished and were spotlessly clean with comfortable beds and fresh towels every day. It is a family run hotel and Alfred and his staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful with a good choice of cereal, fruit, yoghurt, cold ham and cheeses, jams and different breads, The evening meal was served at 6.30 and most days there was 2 choices for starter and main course. There was an excellent salad bar with everything you could think of and it was obvious most people enjoyed it. The food was home cooked and enjoyable. The Pool area and gardens were well kept. It was about a 15 minute walk into Merano or a shorter walk and a bus ride away. The trains and buses ran on time and it was very easy to get around. There were beautiful gardens to visit and Merano itself was a lovely place to wander around. We think like others we met who have been to this place several times we will surely go back one day to visit the places we ran out of time to see. Would thoroughly recommend.

We spent a week at the Salgart as part of an Inghams holiday, we had a first floor room with a balcony overlooking the pool, with views of the valley. The rooms are clean, comfortable and have a safe and plenty of space for clothes etc. It maybe lacks in some of the little extras such as bottled water, small fridge and a kettle, but thats only a minor detail. We had a half board stay and the food (home made/cooked) was excellent, the staff at the hotel are friendly and speak Italian, German and English, they were particularly helpful advising us on which buses we needed to catch. The pool is outdoor and heated, so even if its cool and raining you can still have a nice swim. The hotel is a good 10-15 minutes level walk from the centre of town, depending on how fast you walk, but the location is lovely and peaceful, and if you've booked half board you don't really need to go back out in the evening .

This is a family run hotel and it is one of the most enjoyable stays we have had in a hotel for many a year. The staff were polite, welcoming, helpful and had a sense of humour. They could not have been more helpful. The rooms were lovely with a great sized balcony and good views. We thought the location of the hotel was excellent. It is only a 10 or 15 minute walk into town but it was situated in a lovely quiet area of the town. The thing that almost overwhelmed us was the quality of the food; it was absolutely first class. We really looked forward to our dinner every evening. It never failed to impress us.

Nice and clean room with a spacious balcony. Very friendly staff. The breakfast was amazing, so many things to choose from, fresh and delicious! Really enjoyed starting our day every morning with a swim in the pool with the scenic mountainous landscape around the hotel area being the cherry on top. Looking forward to another stay at Hotel Salgart soon!

Good location - Nestled just off the Brunnenplatz —hop on Bus #1 or #3 and disembark at Brunnenplatz / Piazza Fontana, and you’re just moments away from the hotel! From the hotel, it is a delightful 15-minute stroll to the heart of Meran, or catch a convenient bus from Brunnenplatz if you prefer. The hotel is also perfectly positioned along the scenic Sissiweg trail, leading you on a lovely walk to the Trauttmansdorff Gardens. The hotel has a beautifully landscaped garden and heated pool. The hotel is also complete with a lift- great for travelers with heavy suitcases! The room is comfortable and clean, equipped with the amenities you need for your stay. Serves excellent breakfast. The host is friendly and helpful. A fun fact —The hotel is originally built by Dr. Tappeiner for his beloved daughter—and its just a stone's throw from Dr. Tappeiner's former residence (which is now privately owned by the Brunnenplatz)! The hotel also offers the guest travel pass around Sudtirol which comes super handy.

A beautiful building in a quiet area at the top of the hill, but not too far from town and very accessible. Family owned, the mother is still working and the daughter looks after reception and makes you feel very welcome. The dining experience was sublime, from the very high end and immaculate setting, to excellent food (four or five changing courses with two main course options). The desert are in a served buffet area and it felt very quaint and you could have lots of small amounts if you wished. Breakfast buffet superb. A kind of new 'old fashioned standards' hotel, but in a very good way. Merano is beautiful and if I return with my wife I'd stay here again and also eat there too. Salad then soup then a divine souflee then main then deserts, all for set price of 25 euro and in a beautiful restaurant with excellent staff and personal touches from the owners. It was superb. I loved it.

Lovely hotel in beautiful gardens, excellent breakfast. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. For my first visit to Merano, getting around was a little challenging however made easier with tourist card that covered the local buses and discounts/entry to some attractions

Extremely nice atmosphere, you immediately feel welcome. Breakfast is superberb! The hotel garden and pool ist just amazing. Sauna facilities excellent and clean.

A perfect place to stay! Unfortunately, I was on a drive through to the south of Italy. But this was a great place to stop. It started with a personal touch. I would love to come back but to stay for more than only one night! The garden is amazing.
