We had a wonderful stay in Vimmerby at a hotel that truly deserves the label child-friendly. The location is ideal for families, with easy access to both Astrid Lindgren's World and Leo's Playland—two attractions our kids absolutely loved! The hotel offers great facilities for children, including a cozy playroom and a movie room that made our evenings both relaxing and entertaining for the whole family. The atmosphere was peaceful, and it was easy to unwind. Our room was comfortable and thoughtfully arranged for both adults and children. We slept really well every night—it felt like a little retreat amid all the adventures. Breakfast was tasty and varied, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The hotel restaurant served delicious food, and there was something for everyone—kids and adults alike. Plus, the town of Vimmerby itself is calm and safe, making it a perfect destination for families who want a vacation without stress or noise. All in all, a lovely experience and definitely great value for money. We'd be happy to come back!

There was a lot of entertainment and toys for kids, making life easy for families. Cinema, play room and other things. Playground and pool just around the corner. There is even an area with microwave and fridge. All staff members were lovely and super helpful. The outside of the hotel looks a bit old but on the inside it is fresh and cosy. Plenty of easy free parking.

The hotel makes a very good impression from the outside and has plenty of free parking.The reception at the front desk was very friendly and courteous. The only annoyance in the room, which was large enough overall, was the constant supply of cool air via a room ventilation system (not the air conditioning system that can be switched off, this was switched off and in another corner of the room), which could not be switched off. The breakfast was very good and varied.

Jag blev otroligt positiv över hotellet. Väldigt bra service. Bokade jacuzzi och bastu på taket vilket var supertrevligt! Då vi åkte väldigt tidigt hade vi även fått ordnat frukostpåse med oss. Bra lokaler och charmigt. Kul att se St Jimi på denna unika plats. Rekommenderar verkligen detta hotellet! Tack! /Marcus

Nice hotel. In overall Over my expectations. Clean spacious room and bathroom. Good hot water and pressure. Quiet and comfortable beds. Free outdoor parking in front of hotel. Friendly staff and quick check in. Big breakfast area and amazing Swedish buffet style with all you can expect.

The best system extra bed in room, just pool out from the main bed, with wide and normal comfortable mattress. The staff nice and helpful, very good breakfast with lots of options. The restaurant has kids’ menu and excellent moules. We did not have the time, and the weather was not so good so we can try the pool. Near by is a nice playground, close by a COOP. The location so good, close to many attractions in the area, like 30 km around.

Comfortable hotel and very pleasant staff. stayed with family (2 adults + 7 y.o. boy) in standard room. The room is somewhat small but typical for standard type. Comfortable solution with 3rd bed (located under the main bed, can be taken away for the day and does not consume space). Fridge and micro in the corridor are very appreciated. The hotel is very original, devoted to rock and music. We tried roof spa and liked it too. Staff everywhere- reception, restaurant- very helpful and nice. The only negative issue was about construction on the square just outside the hotel, but I guess this is outside of the hotel control. The construction is supposed to finish in summer. the hotel is very good value for money and highly recommended.

The communal fridges are a great idea on each floor. The right things in the room were clean and updated. I could appreciate the vegan items at breakfast, including spreads, yogurts, cheese and milk options. Also having zero waste options for storage of dried goods. Location was good with simple parking and close to our activity for the following day. The theme was fun! We had a good and personal reception with and everything was smooth.

The bedroom was well equipped with basic necessities and with acceptable beds. Clean and comfortable sheets, bedding and towels. The breakfast was very good, a large selection and a neat dining room. The location was exceptional; close to pharmacy, grocery store, Astrid Lindgren park and it her restaurants. Very good parking garage for free. Nice children friendly dinner buffet. Exceptionally good Limoncello with gin made at brewery in Vimmerby!

Beautiful hotel with the best location in Vimmerby. The staff was very friendly, the breakfast very good with a large selection and the in-house restaurant excellent. Many thanks also for the free parking in the garage. Highly recommended!

Beautiful surroundings, the mansion is lovely and breakfast was wonderful. The sauna by the water was so cozy. I would stay in the main building next time as opposed to the conference building.

Mycket bra bemötande och bra personlig service. Personalen ordnade med framdukat frukost enbart för mig som skulle tidigt iväg, samt en kväll när restaurangen var stängd, ställde de fram buffé till gästerna. Mycket bra! Väldigt trevlig personal i såväl reception, bar som restaurang. Närhet till golfbana samt fin lantlig miljö. Prisvärt Rummet höll bra standard med den utrustning som man kan förvänta sig.

Quite big hotel with many amenities (garden, gym, pool, parking, restaurant) Appartment big with bathroom and air condition, clean. Near to a supermarket, 10 min walk from main square. Breakfast included (large variety of meals).

Breakfast is totally optimised for the kids and big families. Tables are huge. There are a lot of food options suitable for the little ones. Plastic cutlery is available.

Amazing place ! Quiet, close to the nature. Owner is really helpful and nice. We had great time.

The cottage was cosy and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook. We appreciated the option to borrow towels and sheets, although there is a fee, but other accommodations of this type do not even provide this option. The cottages are placed far enough apart each other so the guests are not disturbed. Our cottage was connected to the playground by a footpath which made our children happy. There are beautiful forests full of blueberries and cranberries in the nearby area, there are lovely walks.

The breakfast was fresh, great quality and variety and Kristina, the owner, was available and made me very welcome at the morning buffet. The beautiful manor building in which I stayed was tastefully furnished with period pieces and was clean and cosy. The bed in my spacious accommodation was incredibly comfortable and in such a peaceful place I slept very well. The grounds and surrounding area are very picturesque and tables outside made it good to be able to socialise with other guests. I'd definitely recommend it for a peaceful, countryside stay.

Everything. We went there last year and got back now. The owner is very welcoming, friendly and helpful. All the areas are clean and taken care of. There is also a big playground with a slide, sandpit, trampolin and multiple toys.

If you are looking for a quiet, idyllic yet centrally located accommodation from which you can make many excursions without too much travelling time, this is the place for you. The landlady is very, very nice and accommodating and manages to give you a very cosy feeling. In short, you feel completely at ease and the breakfast buffet is fantastic. The rooms are very tastefully furnished and the property itself with its berry and apple orchard invites you to linger and relax.

Kristina is an amazing host who makes you feel right at home. The property is a paradise for children who can play outdoors in the big garden with a little playground and you will also find some board games in the breakfast room. The rooms have a cosy atmosphere with loads of little details that makes a room a home.

Overall a perfect place to stay when visiting Astrid Lindgrens Värld. Good area for BBQ and nice beds. To get fice dtsrs they would need to secure a little more kitchen equipment (nothing available to föip burgers on the grill and not enough och plates/cutlery according to the number of beds). Would however recommend it and we epuld choise this place if returning to Vimmerby

Så så himla bra. Vi reste för att gå på Astrid Lindgrens Värld. Bodde som på Barnen i Bullerbyn! Supermysig innergård där barnen sprang fritt och lekte. De små husen var över förväntan. Personalen.. bättre service och välvilja får man leta efter. Min mor skulle ta tåget hem till Sthlm tidigare med taxibolaget hade sommar stängt. En av tjejerna i receptionen erbjöd sig att skjutsa henne. Stort tack för det. Frukosten kom i en mysig korg som ställdes utanför dörren kl 8. Vi intog den i solen ute på gården. Barnen ville inte åka därifrån. Inte vi vuxna heller för den delen. Gångavstånd till ALV. Det var bra för det var långa bilköer in. Hit åker vi gärna igen.

Vi var veldig fornøyde med vårt opphold på Oxgården, som vi valgte i forbindelse med at vi skulle besøke Astrid Lindgrens verden to dager på rad. Vårt opphold varte 3 netter, og det var varme julidager. Aircondition på rommet var helt fantastisk, og takket være den sov vi kjempegodt. Sengene hadde også gode madrasser. Ser andre har skrevet noe annet om det før, men vår erfaring var god. Vi spurte om tilpasset frokost siste morgenen (mer pålegg og mindre frokostblanding), slik at vi kunne pakke ekstra niste, og det fikk vi. Alt i alt superfornøyd!

Oxgården var ett mycket bra ställe för familjen att landa på efter Astrid Lindgrens värld. Rummet var rent och fräsch. Ac fanns vilket behövdes denna varma dag. Rullgardiner i alla fönster och toppen med en övervåning där fler sängs fick plats. Utegården som man fick använda vare sig man lagade egen mat eller köpte där var en fin inramning till hela stället. Vi kommer återvända dit.

Very friendly staff. Beautiful place. 6 comfy beds really good price. We were able to park our car in front of the cottage very convinient. So many electric chargers were available close to the reception which we charged the car before sleeping. Charging price was 6sek/kwh. Breakfast was not included but I bought for my family and we loved the quality of the breakfast so much. I highly recommend it based on the valuable price.

Really good location when visiting Astrid Lindgren's world. For 1-2 nights perfect. The breakfast is surely worth it. The beds upstairs are bit tiny (very low sealing) but for kids it's fun to sleep there.

Fantastisk frukost, massor av lekmöjligheter både inne och ute stor hoppmatta, enkelt att få service av olika slag, bra sitt och grillmöjligheter, inga problem med wifi. Bra med kylskåp och inspirerande inredning i stora huset, samt nära till Astrid Lindgrens Värld. Många olika tidskrifter och bra böcker att koppla av med.

Very kind hosts and good accommodation. Our son likes to drink hot chocolate at breakfast, and they immediately fulfilled the wish. We could also borrow a hair dryer.

Ett fint ställe att stanna på speciellt med barn. Stort utrymme ute för lek med studsmatta och rutschkana och om man vill spela fotboll. God frukost. Fanns möjlighet att göra egen mat (en platta) och fanns tillgång till kyl och frys. Stor och skön säng och i närheten till Mariannelunds Karamellkokeri (litet men coolt ställe) och Astrid Lindgrens värld, filmbyn (kostar att gå in) Bullerbyn (kostar 50kr för parkering) och Katthult(100kr vuxen, 50kr barn) Väldigt nöjda med vår vistelse 😊

För barn fanns det lekrum, utomhuslek med studsmatta och små fotbollsmål. Utöver det barnböcker och böcker för att underhålla barnen. Bra frukost, även för glutenfritt i mysig herrgårdsmiljö. Sängarna var otroligt sköna i familjerummet. Ett plus med matrum med kyl/frys samt micro och kaffebryggare. Ica och asiatisk hämtmat runt hörnet. Vid campingen 5min bort med bil finns badbrygga och slingor att springa på. Samt Lönneberga! Kan inte annat att säga över förväntan!

What a gem! We had a great stay in a 2-bunk room on the first floor. Hosts and owners Pernilla and Andy are so accommodating and make you feel at home. Rooms, facilities, kitchen, and yard are all in great shape and my son loved the trampoline. The check in process and breakfast were great as well. If you're looking for a wonderful spot to go for a swim, Lindens Badplats is a 10-min drive from the hostel. And Astrid Lindgrens Värld is less than 30 minutes away. I can highly recommend this place!

A well equipped and open hostel, that put us back into school excursion time, wooden bunk beds and nightstands, beautiful old building with big kitchen and very quiet surrounding.

Very nice place, a spacious kitchen equipped with all the necessary equipment (fridges, cooker, oven, microwave, coffee machine, even a blender :)) / a beautiful and large library where you can spend time pleasantly / unlimited access to the gym and all the sport equipment such as balls, ropes, mattresses, rackets, etc. / the host very nice and helpful / the hostel very very very clean. We stayed only two nights but the place is also great for a longer stay.

A perfect place going the Astrid Lindgren Värld in Vimmerby. The place is set in a beautiful rural setting and is a great place to stay if you want to catch the "Småland vibe". Perfect for children with a gymnastic hall and playground outside. Friendly staff. Good beds. A great place to stay for families.

Best family friendly hostel I've stayed at. It's an old school, our bedroom was half a classroom -- great play facilities and gymnasium and very spacious kitchen and common areas. The association that runs it really care about their community and keeping the building alive and take a lot of pride in creating a great experience. A very lovely place to stay and well located for Astrid Lingrens world. Don't miss visiting the nearby church, a fantastic piece of architecture!

A great place to stay in for families. A unique hostel with interesting history, located in a region where Astrid Lindgren's books are a living story. Owners where very helpful and made plenty of recommendations on what to visit in the neighbourhood. A very well equiped and organized kitchen. Kids had planty of space to play. Parents also had a cosy library to relax in.

The concept of a non-profit association, where the locals volunteer to run the place and our kids could stay in an old school was great! As everybody takes care, it is also super clean and comfortable. You are also just a bicycle ride away from Bullerbü and close enough to Vimmerby.

Very friendly and helpful owners, they made us (and our dog) feel like at home. They even mailed something we forgot to our home address. We only stayed there for one night passing through Vimmerby. Very friendly host Clean, family character Super ultra mega breakfast buffet. Cereal fresh baked bread fresh fruit jam self made smoothie for my daughter specially made... And plenty of tips for our further trip through Sweden Ahead again Ankis!

Very helpful and understanding staff. By mistake I booked for one night later than we actually wanted. They were nice enough to change our reservation. Even if our bungalow was already not available we could stay in one of theirs bed and breakfast rooms. Thank you so much! You are the best!
