I love this hotel! It has so many neat little nuances like the train that delivers drinks in the restaurant, the immaculate rooms and common area, the comfortable bed, the large windows that allow you to hear the trains if you want or not, they are that good. The location is wonderful! It's right next to the steam train depot which transforms you back to a bygone era. The trains take you up to the top of Brocken Mountain and beautiful hiking in Harz National Park. It's a couple blocks from shopping and restaurants in the picturesque city center of Wernigerode. The restaurant has wonderful food! We stayed 3 nights and had dinner there twice! There is a patio out the front door to enjoy a beer or a little nook on the second floor to watch the night settle in. The beer on tap was amazing! I love the staff and the accommodations. We would highly recommend the Hotel Altora to everyone. Request a room in front to enjoy the view of the beautiful hillside and trains, or if you're looking for a silent stay, request a room in the back.

Sport from a rushed check in, we arrived at 2140 and reception closed at 2200, everything else was fine. Good clean room, friendly staff, good buffet breakfast, good food in the restaurant, fine collection of railwayania displayed throughout the hotel. Well situated for the Harz (and DB ) railway stations. "Railway rooms" do overlook the engine sheds bit if you're spending all day riding the trains are probably not worth the supplement as they is a balcony available to all and it has an even better view for those unable to walk 15 metres to the other side of the road up to the railway fence!!

My first impression was one of exceptional freshness in the room, which was of good size and comfort. Check in was quick and friendly and breakfast had a good selection. The location is perfect for exploring the town and region. For those taking the steam train into the Harz or traveling by normal train, the stations are across the road. The beautiful pedestrian zone which is also where you catch the shuttle to the castle overlooking the town, is a pleasant stroll less than five minutes straight down the street. You also get free regional bus transportation with your tourist card at checkin. Perfect location, friendly service, nice room, excellent value.

Excellent location. Much better than expected room. Very good breakfast buffet included in the very reasonable room price. Extremely convenient for the steam railway and the restaurant bar has a novel railway theme with service rendered by miniature train set. Great experience, especially if you are a rail enthusiast. Staff are very friendly and take part in the railway experience. Close by main town square.

Conveniently located near the Harz narrow gauge railway, (with a railway theme to the hotel) but only a few minutes walk towards the centre of the historic town centre. Clean and modern rooms , a good breakfast buffet and friendly helpful staff.

We really enjoyed our Christmas stay at this well-run, attractively renovated hotel. The staff were friendly and our room was very comfortable. The breakfast and evening meal buffets were of good quality and the table service (drinks only) friendly and attentive. The pool and spa areas were lovely, and a wide range of festive activities were also offered by the hotel. The only small downside was the lack of coffee and tea making facilities in the room, but that is often the case in German hotels.

Very friendly and helpful personnel. As cyclists we loved the location in the forest and beautiful paths, the Spa (Turkish bath in particular) to warm up and relax afterwards, the delicious fruits for breakfast, and the spacious room. We'll come back!

The hotel is in a good location beside the cable car station. The price I paid was incredible value for the quality of the facilities and food…the breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had. The four course dinner was very good quality although the portion size could perhaps have been a little larger after a day of hiking. Cake was also provided in the afternoon which unfortunately I missed out as I was out. I also appreciated the travel pass which saved me a lot of money for my bus journey home as well as a visit to nearby Goslar. I was also very impressed by the staff at mealtimes as well as the man at reception who was very welcoming.

Perfect location for visiting the town or castle. Easy walk to everything you could need and a very short walk to the included car park. The apartment was comfortable even on a very warm day (we were on the top floor, only stairs to get there), the windows gave a nice cross breeze and will definitely book again if come back to Wernigerode.

Great location in the city center, with many restaurants, cafes, and nice places for a walk nearby. The apartment was well-equipped, clean, and even larger than I expected. Checking in and out was easy with the provided instructions. Excellent value for the price. Awesome!!!

Very well equipped property, especially in the kitchen. A lot of thought has gone into making sure you have everything you need. The apartment is well furnished, comfortable and clean. It is a short walk from the town centre.

The property is conveniently located in the center of Wernigerode. It's a historical house with eight apartments. The arrangement of the apartment we booked is more than perfect! The hosts took care of every detail in kitchen, bathroom and living room. They arranged a parking lot at a private parking just 200m away from the property. Prior arrival we received the code for the door and could check in very easily. And on top of every convenience there was a bottle of nice dry Rotkäppchen sparkling wine as welcome drink!

The place is beautiful and we were given an upgrade to a bigger room than we originally booked. The room was gurgeous! Everything was very clean and beutifully decorated. We really enjoyed our stay. The room had kitchen/Sittingroom which alone was bigger than most rooms in places like this. Then there was the main bedroom and a bathroom downstairs. Breakfast in the morning was very cute and had plenty of choises even if it was small and only set for some ten persons.

Breakfasts were tasty with lots of choice. Very comfortable beds and pillows. Well equipped room with lots of towels, shower cap, hand soap, shower gel, complimentary water, and more. Cosy and airy room. Friendly, helpful staff.

The hotel is housed in a charming centrally located building, with adjacent free parking lot. Our fairly-sized (and fairly-priced) room was comfortable and clean, with newly renovated bathroom. We enjoyed the high-quality breakfast with fresh bread, pastry and big variety of the buffet items. Above all, we were truly taken by the genuine hospitality of the owner, who has made it his commitment to make sure all his guests enjoyed their stay both at the hotel and in Bad Harzburg. We would not hesitate to book hotel Victoria again.

We were very pleased with the hotel. Everything from upgrading our room to a family room so our daughter was with us, to the delicious breakfast and the helpful suggests regarding the busses. We genuinely enjoyed our experience and hope to be back soon. Thank you again, Auf wiedersehen.

The location is perfectly right in the middle of Bad Harzburg. Everything is within walking distance. Was checked in the owner of the place, he was very friendly and gave tips about how can explore the place. He even brought us a kettle to cook hot water to the room. Amazing service!

We felt welcomed and we got an upgrade. The apartment was spacious and clean. The breakfast was varied and delicious. Great and central location.

In spite of it being very central, it was still quiet. The apartment was roomy and not cramped and stylishly decorated. We had a balcony which was lovely for the evenings. The sauna area was lovely. Parking was good but limited when more guests arrived. Breakfast was sufficient with enough variety. shopping and restaurants were all close by.

Overall it was a great place with nice staff. Breakfast buffet had lots of good choices. Room was spacious, and with a great bathroom/shower. The complimentary pilsners in the fridge were a really nice touch. They also provide a lot of dishes in case you wish to prepare your own meals. Coffee maker in room.

We had an excellent weekend! The hotel is modern, spotlessly clean, and very cozy – we truly felt at home. The staff was extremely helpful and polite throughout our stay. We booked a standard room, which was perfect for two people and featured large windows with a lot of natural light. In the evening, we reserved a table at the hotel restaurant. The prices are above average, but the service was professional and the food delicious – well worth it. Breakfast was also fantastic: varied and beautifully presented.

Excellent quality property with care taken over the furnishings. And because my dog is older and the apartment I originally booked was up stairs the hosts changed my booking to a larger ground floor apartment without creating any problems. They have several apartments in Braunlage and I would warmlyrecommend them.

Our stay was the final part of our family summer vacation, after some nice weeks in France. So the expectations were high for a good experience. I must say we were never disappointed - a very nice location within Harz, a superb and stylish suite and a fabulous breakfast. The decor of the whole hotel is absolutely great, and just walking around in the corridors revealed unique discoveries. We very much liked the "family-home" atmosphere and the friendly staff - sitting in the garden with a cold beer enjoying life. Definately a place to revisit!

Lots of character, lovely views of schloss, the staff very friendly and helpful. Ate once very good food reasonably priced. Good central location for Hartz attractions and towns. Breakfast very good, plates of meat and cheeses, yogurt and fresh fruit, eggs cooked to order, gorgeous warm rolls all served, good coffee!

Hotel staff is so friendly and forgiving our lack of deutch language. Our deluxe room (nro 3) was beautiful and very comfortable with a view like a painting. Breakfast was served in tables and had everything you could hope for. The location in Blankenburg is not so special since the town lacks the personality of nearby Quedlingburg and Wegergerode. But then again by car only 15 minutes drive to them. All on all, nice experience.

Everything about this property was fantastic, the location was a short walk to a pretty town, the apartment was fabulous and sound proofed, breakfast was plentiful and delicious, staff were friendly and cheerful. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing place to visit and enjoy the surrounding mountain region of Saxony, Germany.

Wir waren für zwei Nächte in den country-suites by verdino LIVING und haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Die Apartments liegen in toller Lage direkt am Wurmberg – zur Talstation sind es etwa 15 Minuten zu Fuß. Unser Apartment war sehr sauber, modern und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Den Zugangscode haben wir vorab per Mail erhalten und konnten damit ganz unkompliziert den Schlüssel abholen – die Kommunikation war durchweg sehr gut. Besonders angenehm fanden wir das große Bad und den großzügigen Balkon. Es gibt auch eine Gemeinschaftsküche, die wir jedoch nicht genutzt haben. Die Bezahlung lief über den Concept Store, der ein paar Straßen weiter liegt – hat aber alles super funktioniert. Ein kleiner persönlicher Eindruck: Die Betten waren für unseren Geschmack etwas schmal, aber das ist natürlich subjektiv. Insgesamt eine sehr schöne Unterkunft, die wir auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen!

There was nothing I could fault about any aspect of my 2 night stay. The room, ambiance, staff, breakfast and light supper were all excellent. Excellent value for money. A safe environment for females traveling alone. I stayed here whilst my son was racing at Oschersleben circuit 20km away. It is an easy drive to the circuit and a peaceful, clean haven to get away in the evening. I would recommend it to those looking for a good place to stay within 30mins drive of the circuit.

The bathroom was clean and everything worked perfectly, also the hot water. We also had a terrace and the room was located very near the elevator and the dinning room, but we didn't hear any noises. Breakfast was abundant and had many options. We really appreciated that it was not a buffet but you could order what you wanted to eat from their menu so there is less food waste and everything we ate was freshly prepared. The pool and saunas were very clean and tidy. There is a wet Turkish sauna and a dry Finnish sauna (outdoors) with enough capacity. The circuit was easy to follow and even if it is small is enough for a relaxing day. Also, we could use the installations as much as we wanted giving notice to the receptionist.

Spa and welness facilities of this hotel is definitely a highlight: very clean, well-maintained, the water in the pool is warm enough for comfortable swimming and staying in the water. Breakfast variety was really good and the food was delicious. Many people weren't satisfied with the quality of the Wi-Fi connection but for me it worked fine, both for video calls and watching youtube. There's also big parking with enough space, I haven't used it but it exists and looked good. I would definitely book again next time I'm in Harz.

The hotel is not only perfectly located (opposite the Rathaus and on the marketplace), it also has a large parking (both inside and outside). The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The breakfast buffet was a highlight by uts quality and variety. The restaurant was excellent as well. Our room was large (family) and quiet, the bathroom as large and with enough towels for everyone and more. The facilities were very clean, We had a wonderful stay at the Weißer Hirsch and we're very happy with our choice of hotel and city. Wernigerode is absolutely charming.

An absolute no trainer, we would definitely stay here again.

Perfectly placed on the town square and within touching distance of the old town hall and the tourist office, I had a super stay at Gothisches Haus. Outside it is like a quaint medieval house but inside all is modern with all the conveniences and services you expect in German hotel of this rating. The rooms were large and comfortable, with nice bathrooms, and the public areas are spacious and comfortable. Staff are friendly and helpful - none speak English, as you would expect, so brush up on your German before your trip. They provided a phone charger for me when mine died on the first day of my visit, which was a life saver. The WiFi is good here too. Breakfast is excellent with all the usual German foods available in large fresh quantities, and served in an airy modern dining room. It's an easy walk from the station and Brockenbahn, as well as to the castle and all the lovely restaurants and coffee shops around the city centre. Out of all the hotels I have stayed at in Wernigerode, this is the best one. Recommended.

Our rooms were very nicely furnished and beds were comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with a great selection catering to every taste. One of our group was vegetarian and she enjoyed the ample breakfast selection. Food in the restaurant was very good and good value for money. All staff were very friendly and helpful. The bar was a great meeting point in the evenings and the friendly bar keeping service was excellent. The hotel was an ideal starting point for us to explore the Harz region, We had a great stay!

A-ROSA Gothisches Haus has a fantastic location in the beautiful town of Wernigerode. The interior has a slightly older style, but it is charming, well-maintained, and very cozy. The hotel offers convenient garage parking nearby, which is a real advantage since parking can be challenging in older towns. Everything worked perfectly and was very smooth. Our room was comfortable, the service was excellent, and the breakfast was simply fantastic – delicious and with plenty of variety. Overall, it was a truly pleasant experience, and I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Wernigerode

This hotel is fantastic! We stayed in the John Goodman room (I forget the exact number) and we enjoyed a beautiful view of the pond, spacious room, and separate toilet and shower rooms. The shower was very spacious, which is not always the case in EU bathrooms. Some hotel staff speak English including at the front desk (which is not the norm in this area) so we were very appreciative of that. There is parking on site, and it is walking distance to the town area. This is a great base to explore Harz National Park and surrounding areas. We loved the food at the hotel restaurant (we ate their two nights during our stay) and the breakfast buffet was incredible too - so many options! They also offer espresso coffee drinks too. Staff were friendly and attentive. We also enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi! There is a sauna and spa services available too. My only criticism (and this is common in EU hotels) is that our bed was not really a queen size but two beds pushed together. This means there is a small gap down the middle that is a bit uncomfortable for sleeping. Keep in mind that the Harz area is really geared towards German tourists and not foreigners. We honestly wish we had spent more time just enjoying the hotel! If I were ever to visit this area again this is the only place I would stay. I have German friends who are repeat visitors with good reason!

The guest house staff was really kind, they assisted us with finding a parking spot, as the street in front of the hotel was being repaired. The location is convenient, 7 mins away from the cabin lift / gondola and the action park, it was what we came there for. We went up and down the hill with the gondola lift and tried the bobsleigh, it was fun. Breakfast is with a rebooked hour, which is excellent if you are planning some mountain activities, you get your table ready at the arranged time with a coffee jug and a bowl of fresh bread waiting for you at a designated table. There's also a nice outdoor sitting area with a few tables and an honesty bar from which you can get a beer or a bottle of wine. The place was really chill.

Perfect weekend getaway for two, breakfast was very classy and room was comfy and a great respite after a long hike. Staff was exceptionally friendly.

The location was good for us being near the station and also near the cable car. We took a bus to Treseberg and walked back along the Bodetal which was recommended to us by the hotel reception lady. We also took the cable car to the Hexentanxplatz one day and the chairlift to the Rosstrappe the next. Both places offer short walks to viewpoints and it's also possible to walk up or down to either. The spa is also very close and quite reasonable for a few hours relaxation. The room was quiet and comfortable and a good continental breakfast was provided.

The staff was friendly and check in went smoothly. The location is perfect. Just a few minutes walk to hiking trails and a spa and restaurants. The room was a bit small but fine.

This place is amazing. We had a HB and the food was amazing. We were nicely surprised that the sauna is free and after a long hiking day it was more than welcome. Beds are very comfortable and the apartment was very clean.

The Schlossberg hotel was wonderful. The front desk was very helpful giving us suggestions on what to do and where to go. The breakfast was delicious and the wait staff was very helpful. I got the impression that not as many people from the US visit Wernigerode but I found the hotel and whole town wonderful. My husband is learning German so we were able to communicate though the staff at the hotel and restaurants had someone who spoke English. We arrived late and happened to be given the attic room - very, very large but it has a very narrow staircase to the third floor, so just take your time going up and down the steps. Super charming room, with plenty of space and great view. Very short walk to the castle from the hotel.

I had a comfortable stay at this hotel. Bedroom had good views over the town and WiFi reception was good. Breakfast also good with variety of things to choose from. All staff I encountered were friendly.

While the location is a little out of the town, in 15 mins on foot (or in less than 5, if you catch a bus, which are free with the tourist voucher you will receive in return for paying the tourist tax) you reach the old town - this is a very reasonable walking time. Even if the path leads along a road, in the spring parts of it will lead you under beautiful pink-blossoming trees. There are a couple of supermarkets in the vicinity of the hotel and even if the hotel doesn't have a restaurant, there are plenty of options in the town. I also liked the free parking (with plenty of space available).

Great small hotel. New and modern, but very old-school German. Very very clean. Breakfast is absolutely wonderful and very affordable. I’d highly recommend. The only drawback is that it’s not directly in the old city. However, it’s great for traveling and seeing the neighboring cities and the area. Only about a 30 minute walk to town

It was a really nice place to stay. I walked from train station to the hotel, which is about 2km. The reception was very good, I was able to order in advance the dish i wanted to have for dinner and the time for dinner, and I was able to have the dish divided in two for me and my girlfriend (which is not well seen in other hotels, I must say). There is a traditional German cuisine for dinner. Overall the staff was really friendly and the atmosphere was comfortable and warm.

Schöne Unterkunft, die mitten in Braunlage ist. So kann man vieles zu Fuß erreichen. An manchen Ecken und den Zimmerwänden sieht man, dass nicht jeder Gast sorgsam ist, sodass ein neuer Anstrich viel ausmachen könnte. Die Ausstattung und der Service beim Frühstück ist umfassend und zuvorkommend; wir kommen gerne wieder!

Tolles Konzept! Wir hatten ein 3-Raum-Familien-Appartment, was super praktisch war. Es war eine vollausgestattete Küche vorhanden, sodass wir uns auch teilweise selbst verpflegen konnten. Außerdem gefiel uns und vor allem den Kindern auch die Lounge sehr mit großer Spiel- und Leseecke. Rundum zufrieden!

The hotel is located in the centre, near to the market place. The rooms are spacious and we had a very nice balcony with a beautiful view to a church and some old houses. Very good breakfast with everything, you could wish.

Beautiful city, friendly staff. The rooms were plain, clean and simple. No aircon, it was a bit hot in summer. Location fantastic! Spanish restaurant and potato restaurant worth trying!

The staff in the reception were extremely nice. We brought our small coton dog and they placed a water and eating bowl for our dog in our apartment. They also gave her a chewing bone. Also the included breakfast buffet was really good! It is also worth to mention that the beds are really comfortable. We would definitely like to stay at Altwernigeröder Apparthotel again.

The location is very central, room had a spectacular view with a balcony overlooking the town. Worth staying again.

Schönes, modernes Hotel günstig gelegen. Bahnhof, Therme und die Lifte/ Wanderwege Richtung Hexentanzplatz und Rosstrappe sind fußläufig erreichbar. Kleine Rooftopbar, im Winter leider etwas klein, wenn das Wetter passt aber mit Außenbereich. Wir hatten für drei Nächte eine schöne Zeit zwischen Weihnachten und Silvester.

Tolles Hotel, super aufmerksames Personal. Einfach wünschenswert , wären mehr Hotels so serviceorientiert und freundlich wie das hier. Fussläufig alles gut erreichbar. Wunderbar! Einfach buchen Leute 😀

This hotel has been redecorated / refurbished recently, everything is so clean, so tastefully furnished, shower fantastic, bed comfortable. I arrived a little later than check-in due to DB trains putting me 2 hours behind schedule, but that was n9 problem for the staff. I didn't eat in the restaurant because I was too tired but the menu looked very good value. There is a cheap on-site sauna. Beer garden. The breakfast is one of the best I've had in ages with so much choice and the server is just too good and too happy for that time of the morning! I stayed in 2 rooms and the quality was consistent. The hotel is less than 10 minutes walk from DB and HSB teain stations.

We stayed at La Rustica for 3 nights whilst visiting the Brocken area and found the room to be a good size, fairly basic but very comfortable and cosy with friendly staff. Language was a slight problem but not their fault- we felt bad not being able to speak German! An extra pillow appeared after the first days clean, I had bulked up the 1 pillow with a blanket to make it higher for me, so that was nice. We ate in the restaurant below 1 night and found the food to be very tasty (pizza), it was very convenient as it was freezing outside and so didn't want to venture out every night especially after being out in the cold all day. It's a good price for such a central location and we'd stay here if visiting again.

Very nice hotel one block off the main fussganger zone (walk platz street) in Wernigerode. The hotel is about 100-200 meters from Wernigerode's beautiful rathaus. We spent one night here (3 Jul 10) and happened to watch Germany stomp Argentina in the Worldcup semis in their bar/restaurant. What a beautiful thing that was! The room (we were in #104) was nice. Quite large and modern (but that was a bit disappointing as the previous pics I'd seen showed a lot of 1/2 timbering which I love). The bathroom was small but adequate and very clean/modern. It was very, very hot while we were there so the room was very warm at night even with both windows open. Not the hotel's fault -- just very hot weather. Parking was included for € 73.60 which also included € 3.60 for city tax. If we stay in Wernigerode again (not sure since we liked Quedlinburg better and it's maybe 30 kms east) we would definitely stay at La Rustica again. The staff were super nice. While no one spoke English (not a problem), we were able to communicate in our broken German. We didn't try their restaurant but the meals we saw being served looked delicious!

My husband and I stayed for two nights in the La Rustica. Upon arrival you were made to feel welcome and we were helped with our luggage up to our room, we found the staff friendly, helpful and very polite, our room was clean and tidy, a good breakfast was provided and we ate in the restaurant on both nights and found the food to be excellent and so was the service. We would recommend this hotel,the location is very central, but if you have walking difficulties the stairs in the hotel could be a problem.

This hotel is amazing. It's in a great location, at the end of Wernigerode, right next to the nature. I felt the air there is super clean and healthy. I like the green grass of the ski schanzen (we were there in the summer). At night it is so quiet, you only hear birds' noises. The room was spacious and the bathroom had everything necessary. I really love this location for its serenity, nature and fresh air. The breakfast in the hotel was very good as well.

The staff were great at reception conversing via Google translate. Lovely quiet room with comfy bed and pillows, you could hear a pin drop during the night. Got a nice and spacious suite with double bed + extra bed. Very quiet location at the hotel, which is a little out of the way from the village. The breakfast had a fairly good selection and in the evening there was the possibility to buy a buffet at a reasonable price.

Wir waren für ein Wochenende zum Skifahren in diesem idyllischen Hotel in Tanne. Das Hotel liegt an einem kleinen Hang und macht einen schicken Eindruck! Das Außengelände ist liebevoll dekoriert und es sind ausreichend Parkplätze vorhanden. Der Service hat uns voll überzeugt! Unkompliziert und sehr freundlich. Auch als Ratgeber zur Region und zur aktuellen Wintersportlage absolut klasse! Man kann sich hier auch Ski leihen, wenn man möchte. Die Ausstattung ist sehr gemütlich, ländlich und teilweise urig! Uns hat es gefallen, denn der Style ist komplett im ganzen Hotel durchgezogen. Wer sich in der Region auskennt, der weiß auch, dass es hier wirklich so aussieht in den Häusern. Das Bett war gemütlich, von der Härte genau richtig und auch für große Personen geeignet, da keine Fußkante vorhanden ist. Die Zimmer sind Recht groß, unser bot sogar eine kleine Sitzecke. Zur Sauberkeit gibt es keine Anstände! Wir können dieses Hotel nur empfehlen! Zumal wir auch von den Preisen begeistert waren. Das Restaurant ist absolut preiswert (3-Gänge Menü - p.P. 16€) und die Sauna mit 5€ total im Rahmen. Das Frühstück hat uns ebenfalls Gefallen. Es fehlte uns dabei an nichts. Neben den Säften stand morgen übrigens auch ein Sekt ;)

Herrliche Ruhe! Fernab von jeder Hektik. Gemütliches Zimmer ohne Schnickschnak, aber mit allem Notwendigen. Hervorragende Küche und sehr reichhaltiges Frühstücks-Buffet. Super-freundliches Service-Personal. Schade, dass wir 500 km Anfahrt haben, sonst würden wir sicher öfters mal einen Abstecher machen.

Wir waren im Mai 2016 in dem Hotel "Zum Brockenbäcker" mit zwei Übernachtungen zu Gast. Wer an der Rezeption seinen Schlüssel holt wird von einer sehr freundlichen und lustigen Hotelchefin begrüsst. Der erste Eindruck als wir die Zimmertür (18) öffneten war, wie sauber der Boden ist. Dieser Zustand zog sich durch das kommplette Zimmer incl. Bad. Die Einrichtung rustikal aber stimmig und gemütlich, kein kitsch. Die Betten etwas weich, aber geschlafen haben wir sehr gut. Das Frühstück war sehr reichhaltig mit wirklich leckeren Brötchen. Für das Abendbrot steht ein drei Gänge Menü zur auswahl. Wenn man schon in dem gemütlichen Restaurant sitzt, schmeckt auch so manches kühles Bier oder der Schopen Wein. Auch schon die Lage des Hotels ist eine wucht. Man kann wunderbar kleine Spaziergänge oder richtige Wanderungen unternehmen. Unser fazit: Wir kommen gerne wieder.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. They were SO accommodating when it came to our dogs and the wellness facilities were incredible and clean! Close to wonderful hiking trails and restaurants. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful.

Waren für eine Nacht im Regio-Hotel, da wir auf den Brocken wandern wollten. Der Aufstieg beginnt direkt hinter dem Hotel, insofern war es gut gelegen. Der Check-In erfolgte vorab bereits online, vor Ort musste dann nur noch an der Rezeption der Schlüssel abgeholt werden. Die Rezeption befand sich etwas überraschend im ersten Stock im Frühstücksraum und nicht am Tresen am Eingang. Man wird aber per Aushang nach oben geleitet. Das Personal war freundlich, das Frühstück ordentlich. Das Zimmer 20 hat jedoch eine Renovierung nötig, das Mobiliar und die Türen erschienen schon etwas abgenutzt. Aber es war alles sauber und wir haben gut geschlafen.

Einrichtung in den älteren Zimmern ist schon ziemliche abgewohnt. Dafür ist die Lage inkl. Parkplätze und das Personal sehr gut. Das Frühstück ist top und reichlich.

Excellent location overlooking the Wernigerode station for the Harz railway, a great hotel for railway enthusiasts. Breakfast and the restaurant food for dinner was also pretty good (with quite sizeable portions!) Really loved the little model train that brought around the drinks. Room was very clean, bathroom was quite big and some of the staff team are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is only a very short walk to the centre of town and perfect for jumping onto the railway network.

We chose this property to be close to the Harz Mountain Steam Train Depot, and it did not disappoint us. Our chosen railroad theme room had an excellent view of the steam train rail yard, so that we were able to watch the engines come and go. It was spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable. We especially liked having dinner in the restaurant and having a beer delivered by a model train.

I enjoyed the quirkiness of this hotel. It is delightfully different. The position close to the railway stations, but within easy walking distance of the town centre is excellent. I enjoyed watching the steam engines preparing for their day’s work while I was eating breakfast and was amused by the model railway which served drinks in the restaurant. Food was of a consistently high standard. I liked the do it yourself egg-boiler which enabled you to get your breakfast eggs precisely how you liked them. Also, it was so pleasant not to be forced to listen to unwanted piped music at meal times. After dinner, the outside terrace, still with railway entertainment , was a pleasant place to enjoy a final drink. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.

The location of this hotel in very convenient for travelling on the HSB Railway system, and for walking to the Old Town. I was able to secure a quiet room which was comfortable, included a fridge and wasperfectly adequate for my needs. The breakfast and dinners served at the hotel were extremely good and the service was friendly and quick.

Very friendly staff. We stayed in a family appartement and enjoyed the accommodation. The hotel is situated in Tanne, a green and peaceful environment, nearby the Harz national park, which is a hidden gem for us as foreign tourists. The national park and the hotel is definitely worth a visit. Our children really enjoyed the swimming pool, which is very clean, as are the changing rooms. For the money this hotel is really magnificent. We stayed there 2 nights, and regretted not having booked more nights.

This hotel is a tasteful renovation in an historic building and a charming place to stay if you like a hotel with character. This was a really friendly family-run hotel well-situated for the castle and town centre in Wernigerode and close to plenty of good bars and restaurants. The hotel contacted me in advance to ask if I wanted to pre-book parking (€4.50) and breakfast (€8) as the Expedia rate was room-only. I would definitely advise pre-booking parking if you are arriving with a car as the guest car park is small. The breakfast was good and a typical German continental breakfast - plenty of fresh rolls with cold meats and cheeses etc. The hotel has free wi-fi which worked well. Note the rooms are not air-conditioned and the front of the hotel is next to a road junction so bring ear plugs if you're travelling in the summer and need the windows open.

Clean, spacious room with amazing view up the street and Werningerode Schloss so very close upon the hill. V good breakfast and a lovely small sauna you can reserve a time for private use. We appreciated a break from the larger city hotels in Hamburg and Berlin to stay in a small cozy bnb style environment. You can step right out the door to shopping and food. The staff was v sweet and we wished we had more time here. Highly recommend!

I had a great stay at this hotel. The hotel is located in the city centre — only about a 5-minute walk to the main area — so it’s close to everything. The breakfast was very tasty, with nice variety of foods. The only small confusion I had was with the parking information. I initially understood that only electric cars needed to reserve a parking space in advance, but in fact, all cars need to. Nevertheless, the lady at the reception was very nice and managed to arrange a parking place for me even without a prior reservation. Having that said, if you’re traveling by car, make sure to announce it ahead of time. Overall, a clean, comfortable, and well-located hotel with friendly staff — I’d happily stay here again.

If you want to visit the small towns nearby Halberstadt and you need to stay in a decent hotel, than I suggest you to take a look at this one. Is not cheap at all, but the staff is very helpful, the hotel is very clean and has an easy access to the nearby towns. You should ask for a room that is not situated too close to the Street, to be sure is quiet. The breakfast is not so varied. If you travel in a period where there are some holidays I suggest you to ask the hotel if there is going to be a party organized by them during your stay, and avoid the hotel. The music is very loud and it can be heard very easily in the rooms and you can not sleep. Unless you want to join the party....The wifi is very poor.

We parked inside, with enough space to park and move in/out. Oliver is really nice and friendly! Perfect place!

Super calm and green location just outside of the old part of town. The little stream in the back makes the nature feeling even better. Easy access to many hiking trails. A grocery store is just across the street. The owner is super nice, friendly and helpful. He was always there to help or answer questions and easy to talk to. The house has lots of space and everything you need. The bathroom is huge and has a nice bath tub for a relaxing time after the hike. The balcony is also pretty big and you can enjoy a sun bath there or do a little bbq. The view from the kitchen is also really nice as you look right onfo the trees. I will be back. :)

Beautiful half timbered house. Interior was superb and cosy warm. We arrived in the dark so in the morning I was delighted to see the ducks on the river just outside the window. Views of other beautiful half timbered houses. Secure private parking. It is diagonally opposite a Netto so use that as a guide to find the house.

The kitchen and bathroom were exceptionally lovely. Shower was really nice, especially after a day of travel. The host was also very welcoming on arrival.

Lovely self-contained place in the host's garden. Very well laid out with all facilities and equipment you might need. Very comfortable and nice to have a bath as well as a shower. We had let ourselves in to the property but our host made a point of coming to meet us, and checking we had everything we needed, which was nice.

Great location, and easy to find. Just when the road becomes a one-way street, you turn left into the parking lot. The hotel is in the center, facing the street. The vacation apartments are behind it. The restaurant is next door, and there is a lovely park across the street. The friendly receptionist handed us our room key and gave us a brief orientation on activities in the area, which include the wonderful Bodetal Therme and the Seilbahn, a cable car that takes you to the summit of a nearby mountain. Surprises await, as there is a "witches village", a zoo and a theater to explore, along with hiking trails and other activities. The room size was adequate and the bed was comfortable. We got great value from our package, which included the hotel, breakfast, and free admission to the Bodetal Therme during our stay. We would stay here again.

The view is very nice, the double bedroom apartments are equipped well. The reach of other parts of the town is really good. There are not many restaurants around, but the park and therme is just in front of the place

The hotel was conveniently located in the centre of Thale close to the cable cars. I arrived very late and collected my key from the adjacent restaurant. The room was very large with a sofa and double bed. It also had a balcony so I could open the door to allow the room to get cool after some very hot weather.

A very nice home stay, beautiful landscape, close to the hills. I would recommend it for a family trip or friends group. Nature lovers would love this place.

Although I am not sure if you can get that view from other rooms, we've got the last available room from the host and it was splendid. The host is super nice and helpful. The breakfast is available at another location, which looks closer on the map, but you have to get to it. For us, it was reasonable to take breakfast somewhere in the city.

Lovely little apartment within walking distance of the Altstad and shops. Everything you need for a home away from home. Would definitely recommend and stay there again.

This was our second trip to this hotel and writting this positive review is overdue. We firt had a stay in September 2022 and have stayed again in December 2022 and have pre-booked for March 2023. This hotel is a gem. Not a 5 star luxury resort and that is perfect. Where to start? The free access to the neighboring spa? The great breakfast? The location and town? The endless hiking routes and nature experiences? Or maybe just start at the kind, happy and friendly staff. We are hooked on this hotel and have already planned our next 'grounding' and will do so for many years to come.

The obvious benefit of this hotel is the spa, which is fabulous and beyond reproach. It’s like Thermae 2000 in Falkenburg or other spas in the Netherlands. The rest of the hotel is comfortable and well maintained. The staff are lovely. Breakfasts are excellent. I also ate dinner one night and it was well presented with an outstanding dessert.

Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Die Zimmer sind zwar alt eingerichtet, aber sie sind gepflegt und sauber. Die ganze Umgebung ist liebevoll gestaltet und für den Preis kriegt man eine Menge geboten. Das Einzige, das irritierend war, dass uns 2x gesagt wurde, dass das Parken kostenfrei ist, aber dann pro Nacht 1 Euro berechnet wurde. (So wie es auch hier im Angebot steht) Aber bei so einem Service kann man darüber hinweg sehen. Gerne wieder. 😊

Es ist ein sehr schönes privat geführtes Hotel mit Zugang zur Therme in Bad Harzburg. Es liegt sehr ruhig, Parkplätze vor der Tür, Busverbindung zum Bahnhof Bad Harzburg. Direkt an der Burgbergseilbahn.

My only criticism of our room was that it was a bit on the small side, however for €51 a night with breakfast I thought it was excellent value and the staff were very good too.

The room and hotel was very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. The room was quite small and squishy for two people but if you are only using it to sleep at night and sightseeing during the day then it is fine. The bathroom shower head wasnt the best but the water was hot. We had to pay an additional $15 Euro for our stay as tourist tax that we were not aware of when we booked the room. Knowing the full price before booking would have been nice. I'm not against paying the tax as it services the tourist facilities that I used while there.

The hotel was in a great location, close to everything I needed. The breakfast was nice, with good variety and fresh options. My bed was really comfortable, and I slept well every night. The staff were very friendly and made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. A pleasant stay overall!

Fantastic and cozy Hotel in the forest next to a little spring. Everybody was really friendly, also the other guests, making us feel welcome.
