I loved the stay, I even extended it for one day more. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The bed is very comfortable and the place is clean. The breakfast served at the hotel was of high quality (you can ask for scrambled eggs or omelette - very tasty!) The coffee in the morning was a dream. Please bear in mind the municipality changed the street numbering and use the location provided by the staff in your private message once booking completed.

Very comfortable good sized rooms and bathroom with great shower and toiletries, staff are all extremely friendly and helpful, good choice at breakfast and food in restaurant was excellent too.

The staff at Messina41 Hotel were some of the kindest and warmest people I’ve ever met in hospitality! They went out of their way to help make my stay comfortable and enjoyable. They helped me by allowing early check-in, bringing all of my luggage up to my room for me, and calling a taxi to the ferry terminal for me. Additionally, the breakfast was delicious, the service was amazing, and my room had a fantastic infrared sauna that I was able to enjoy! Grazie mille!

This is nice older hotel. It was perfect for our overnight stay. A comfy bed, hot shower and good breakfast walking distance from restaurants.

The location is excellent, not far from the harbor and just 20 minutes walking from the train station. The room was big enough (including a small balcony), the hotel is renovated and in general a very nice place to stay. I would just appreciate if the breakfast is served earlier (I only could use it on my last day - but I appreciate at least the combination of typical sweet Italian breakfast with staff like cheese/ham). I would definitely stay here again.

Great place, outstanding! The owner of the place, Carmelo, is a very nice man, kind and hosted us in an exceptional way. We asked for a recommendation for a nice place for breakfast, and he invited us (5 people!) at his expense, to a local breakfast at an excellent bakery a short walk from the place. The place is conveniently organized, the kitchen is convenient for guests to use, the room was very clean, water and coffee free of charge, the beds are comfortable. Very convenient entrance to the building, without stairs. Central location, 15 minutes walk from the train station. Don't hesitate, this a great place to stay!

Very clean, comfortable bed. Clean well-stocked bathroom (albeit with a small shower). Shared kitchen with fridge, kettle, coffee machine and generous supplies of coffee, tea and cold water. Carmelo provided us with an excellent restaurant recommendation and a breakfast voucher at a nearby cafe.

Everything about Caio Duilio B&B was delightful. The booking was easy. The response to all the communication was positive and quick. The checkin was comprehensive and easy. Our host and his staff were friendly, helpful, and unobtrusive. The room was a good size and meticulously clean and quiet. The shared kitchen facilities, if required, are good and very clean. The location could not be better. The value for money is exceptional. Yes, I recommend it, and yes, we will be going back there.

Located in a quiet side street, on the ground floor the room was surprisingly quiet. Comfortable bed and pillows, plenty of space for a one night stay. The bathroom was quite small and the shower very small!Communication with host via WhatsApp was excellent and prompt. I would stay again for the location and the comfort. Close to great bars, restaurants and ferry / train station.

The apartment was very spacious and super clean. The panoramic view of the port and Reggio Calabria on the other side was just amazing and you cannot ask for more. The bed was massive and very comfortable. The location was amazing, very close to the city center, train station and the port to take the ferry. Plenty of coffee shops, restaurants and bars around. Superb stay!

Only stayed one night but its was very comfortable, clean, and spacious. Host was helpful (recommended restaurants) and responded to texts quickly. We booked all four rooms so did not have to share kitchen area. The views from both room (with sea view) and the rooftop were nice.

Such an amazing place! First of all, biggest thanks to the fantastic receptionist Davide that is a lovely warm and entertaining soul who takes care of your perfect stay in the hotel and helps you with any question by heart. The room is super comfortable with everything you need- when you open the closet, a mini kitchen is hidden that you can use easily. The bathroom is spacious and with original Ortigia products that is a high luxury brand in Sicilia (smelled amazing and was a lovely add-on). The room itself was calm, no street noises, air-conditioned and comfortable bed. Another highlight was the breakfast that was included in my booking. You had the possibility to choose your order by a menu and it was full of possibilities. Loved the Bacon Sandwich and Brioche with Granita + friendly service. In addition the hotel is located in the city center, from Messina Centrale by Bus Nr. 100 only 5 mins to go. A lot of restaurants in the surrounding and a fantastic shopping street. All in all, I will definetely come back, felt super comfortable and safe as a solo traveller in this place. GRAZIE!

Everything … from the beautifully restored building, the lux rooms, great storage space, cleverly designed kitchenette, great shower room, lovely timber floors … it exudes a homely luxury! The gentleman on reception gave us a warm welcome and was so helpful in every way. The breakfast on top floor/terrace was delicious a la carte, served on white linen tablecloths and napkins by very friendly and helpful lady. Lovely roof terrace.

The Hotel VMaison is definitely a diamond in the "rough" - the area around it is not super, but the bnb is fantastic. It's about 1 mile from the city center, an easy walk that I did multiple times, so don't not stay there because of the location. The front desk was very helpful, spoke English well and was able to give me a recommendation for restaurants and some maps to help me out. The breakfast is also really good, although you might want to brush up on your Italian for it as the staff do not speak English. Do note that during August the roof top terrace/bar is closed in the evening, but you can still go up there and sit and enjoy the environment. The decoration is fantastic, the rooms are terrific, very clean and well appointed. They have a shop close by where they sell different items that they use to decorate the hotel. It's really stunning. The parking was easy, I left my car out front of the hotel the whole time I was there with no problems. Also, there was free wifi service that worked through the hotel (I spent some evenings doing work on the roof top!).

This delightful hotel is located just a short walk from the main shopping strip and historic centre of Messina. The room was cleverly designed to maximise space and the generous bathroom was spotlessly clean. There was even a small kitchenette with coffee making facilites. The hotel is beautifully furnished with lush upholstered furniture, fabric wall coverings and oozes charm and grace. The roof top terrace is the perfect spot for a delicious breakfast.

The hotel had the most luxury bed we have stayed in Italy. Room was modern and emasculate. The rooftop had great views of the area and you can sit and enjoy a drink from the bar. Breakfast was great up there too. Parking the tiny road just past was perfect. A decent walk to the tourist sites but still nice. A fantastic hotel a and staff was very friendly

The hotel is in easy walking distance to/from the train station and the ferry port. Our room was basic but comfortable, with a view over the park opposite and towards the port area and major sites such as the clock tower and Cathedral. Breakfast mainly consisted of sweet foods, with some savoury choices. The staff were attentive and kindly provided a breakfast package on our last day as we had to check-out early. They also provided a kettle for our room at our request. The hotel is close to many cafes and restaurants and the major cultural sites are also in easy walking distance.

The motel was a short walk from the Centrale train station. The staff were friendly and helpful. Room was great. Bed was very large and comfortable. Great shower. The room was great value and perfect for our needs. Highly recommend. Thank you.

Very spacious room, quiet, spotlessly clean, very rich breakfast (they kindly offered me boiled eggs instead of scrambled on request), perfect location next to the station, boat embarcation and very near to historic center.

Nice, spacious room. Very clean. Great location: very close to the train station and coffee shops, and a 10 min walk from Piazza del Duomo with the Astronomical Clock Tower. We arrived early with a plan to drop our luggage at the reception, but the room was already ready. We were able to check in early. Also as others mentioned, breakfast is great with a good buffet selection of pastries, cheeses, cold meats, fruit, veg, and some hot options.

We were greeted by the Owner & Staff. They were exceptionally friendly. Went above and beyond to make our stay extra special. The view from our room was spectacular! Looking out towards the Port of Messina. The cleanliness of our room & the hotel was superb! Breakfast was excellent and we were waited on every morning by such friendly, bilingual staff. The choice of breakfast was outstanding! From cereals, full English breakfast, an excellent choice of Italian croissants & cakes, fresh fruit, yoghurts, tea, coffee, fresh fruit juices. Also on our last day we were due to vacate our room in the early hours. The Hotel Manageress Sabrina made sure that her staff left us covered up breakfast for us. We enjoyed speaking Italian & English with everyone at the hotel. Our room was very clean, beautiful, boutique style with spectacular views of the Port of Messina. Gorgeous, modern, stylish bathroom & shower too. Our bed was extremely comfortable. We will return soon .

A gem in Messina. Starting with our host, she was ever so kind and accommodating. The Hotel has been recently upgraded and has very clean, modern facilities. The beds are super comfortable, bathrooms very functional and excellent sound proofing. Suites have electronic security keypad to access as well as front street door. The breakfast has a great selection. The Harbour views from our room was a bonus, as we watched passenger ships and boats cruise into Messina port. Location is very central, easy 5 min taxi from Messina station, close to many restaurants and attractions. We will definitely come back and stay at Jolly Charme on our next adventure. It was a simply wonderful stay. The hotel is beautiful and spotlessly clean and the room was perfect. It was spacious, pristine and decorated superbly, in fact even more beautiful than the photos. The staff were delightful - they were all so gentle, kind and friendly and went out of their way to help us. Breakfast was delicious and included lovely home made cakes and biscuits + granita. The position of the hotel is excellent, in fact our room had views over the sea, and there is easy access to the port and the main attractions such as the Duomo, the stunning astronomical clock which is a must see and the theatre opposite the hotel. We will most definitely return, this hotel is 5 stars, a boutique style hotel with the highest standards. It was such a pleasure to meet the staff who make this hotel so special. A huge thank you to you all.

We absolutely loved staying here! The hotel is very special & you know they care about the people staying there. It is well maintained, modern, cosy & elegant. The room has everything you need with quality linen, towels, toiletries & the bed & pillows offer the best sleep. It is also very clean & hygienic. You just feel at home here & welcomed. When we opened the door to our room we were positively surprised. The rooms are very spacious, very clean and smelled fresh. The air conditioning unit was superb as it was very hot. The bathroom was also spacious. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. When we checked out we hadn't left ourselves enough for breakfast and the receptionist felt bad we couldn't stay so he ran into the breakfast and wrapped up some croissants to take with us!!! What fantastic service!! Great location for the train station and town.

The room was large and the bed was comfortable. The public areas were well maintained. The hotel was conveniently located for access to the main town area and bars & restaurants. Also, the hotel was only about 350m from a multi storey car park. The staff were very friendly and eager to help.

Very nice, large and clean room with key entrance to both the outside door and inside. Reception is open from 7.30am until around 9pm The rain shower has good water pressure and the bathroom is very hygienic. Balcony is nice and private and airconditioning works great without being too loud. Breakfast in the room is also a nice feature which felt like a bit of a luxury. There's also a pool table and coffee machine and drink dispenser (paid) on the second floor, and a public terrace.

We are very grateful for our stay at this apartment. The kitchen was fully equipped, the air conditioning was perfect and relaxing, and the balcony had an amazing view of the city. Its convenient proximity to the city centre was an added bonus. This experience exceeded my expectations.

The breakfast was awesome! Loved all the choices! Loved that they brought it to our room every morning! Loved the staff- they were so kind and helpful! The girls working the desk was top notch! They spoke English well and helped us in many ways like calling a pizza place and ordering it for us since we couldn't speak Italian.

Booked there at first due to convenient location a few steps from port and station. Personal is very friendly and full of good tips even if they struggle with English. The Hotel is very old fashioned and decorated as an old villa, direct from movie set. Rooms are huge, beds okay but the shower little bit tricky to regulate. For a quiet stay, ask for a room on the back as we did on second night. Kept sport less clean.... a recommendation if on a budget in Messina

The location is close to train station, ferry and shopping area, it's great for us because we stayed in messina one night in order to take a ferry to Stomboli early in the morning. The service is good, the hotel seems to be managed by a family over 50 years, their breakfast starts at 7am or 7:30am but they made coffee and brioche for us before 6:30am because we needed to catch a ferry at 7am. They are nice people though they don't speak English but we manage to understand hand gestures, body language and broken Italian. Hey, that's part of the fun about traveling! The room was simple but clean, most importantly, it has air conditioning !!! The most needed facility in Mediterranian summer.

This is an old fashioned hotel with old fashioned service. The friendly and helpful staff are great. They showed us to our room and made sure everything was ok, gave us coffee and croissants for breakfast, and let us store our bags while we waited for the train and explored Messina (even called our after us when we left without our pizza....). It was the cheapest hotel we went to while on our month tour of Italy but the most value for money. If old furniture worries you and you cant cope with cigarette smoke then you may not like it, otherwise go for it.

My evaluation of this hotel is definetely positive as far as i am concerned the quality cost ratio is very good a small and quite structure with very professional staff polite and willing to do everything to make my stay comfortable personnel and direction know how to appreciate an earlier customer and therefore if you are looking for a quite clean and cheap place for your stay in messina i would reccomend it,I woulld like to add that i have working experience in a relatives best and western hotel si i can quarantee that the gents in this hotel know how to run their business

A nice and clean hotel in a great location. Walking distance to all attractions. Also next to train station for my day trips. Staff was friendly and helpful. The language barrier with a few was no problem with google translate. Just wish there had been a closer cafe for morning

This was the perfect base for exploring the city, right in the centre, with everything within easy reach. The apartment was clean, modern, and very comfortable, with a great view and the added bonus of an elevator. Check-in was smooth and completely hassle-free. The host was super helpful and full of great local recommendations, which made our stay even more enjoyable. A lovely touch was the included breakfast at the café downstairs, with options such as coffee and pastry or granita with brioche, such a nice (and traditional) way to start the day. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a stylish and convenient stay!

The host was incredibly friendly and accommodating, even helping us sort out a booking mistake and letting us drop off our bags early. Central location. Clear communication/organised: we hardly had any contact with staff/owner but it was very well organized. We received clear instructions how to get in, where to get breakfast etc.While we stayed I messaged them a couple of times with enquiries and we always received promp, polite and helpful response. Very clean. Loved the simple, but elegant decor. We had amazing sleeps, bed and matress was amazing.(room 5) Housekeepers always had a huge smile, eager to clean our room and helpful (with little English) Good value for money.

Host was very helpful. We arrived early and could leave our bags. Once room was ready, host let us know. Facilities in the room were better than expected. Great location. Lovely breakfast included. The apartment was clean, cozy, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The balcony was perfect for relaxing, and I loved unwinding with Netflix in the evening. It’s in a great location, close to the city center, with excellent paid parking nearby. Would definitely stay again!

The location is excellent! You can park your car on the blue striped parking places and pay with the Easy Park app. The street looks safe! You can easily walk to the Duomo and the harbour. The ticket counters for the hydrofoils leaving for Reggio di Calabria are near and I highly recommend a daily excursion to Reggio! Reggio has a very nice promenade , and a fantastic archeological museum! The B and B is a beautifully renovated apartment on the first floor of an old building without elevator! If you can’t carry your luggage up the stairs I am sure that Andreas, the host, will arrange for assistance! It has a large living room, which is the breakfast room, and several bedrooms, each with its own bath. The decoration of the rooms shows the good taste of the host! Our room was quiet, because it was overlooking the yard behind the building, which is shared with other buildings and they are no cars passing by there. The bed and the pillows were very comfortable and very clean! The breakfast buffet was very good, and the coffee was prepared by an employee of our host. Andrea had arranged for complimentary croissants and coffee cups for the espresso machine to be in our room as we arrived! Andrea replied immediately to our inquiries via WhatsApp. In conclusion, I would say that this B and B offers the best value for the price we paid, if I compare it with every B and B we have stayed over the years, and reserves a perfect 10! I have never awarded a perfect 10 before!

We liked everything about this newly renovated stunning apartment with modern decor. It had a brand new huge bathroom with amazing shower and two hand basins. Two king size beds with beautiful sheets. Both bedrooms were spacious with a smart TV! Three bottles of water in fridge. Amazing breakfast in lovely big dining room. There was a great selection of cereals and juices, boiled eggs, toast, several types of pastries, meat and salad rolls, yoghurts and fresh fruit. The gentlemen running the breakfast was fantastic! Loved staying here and a short walk to the Port and city centre. We loved it!

The property was clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable and the staff were very helpful and attentive. It was great to have a coffee machine and complementary pastries on arrival in our room. We also needed our baggage stored for a few hours and the staff accommodated this quite easily. The host was contactable via WhatsApp and always willing to assist. Breakfast was nice, fresh and simple. The location is great as it is right next to everything without being in the noisy chaotic side of town.

A stunning and spotlessly clean property with lots of style situated very centrally and in a perfect spot to shop and to eat. The check-in details were very clear and communication throughout our stay was superb. Pastries awaited us on arrival and there was unlimited coffee. The bed was comfortable and the shower powerful. No outside noise made for a peaceful night. Breakfast was very tasty with a variety of sweet and savoury pastries offered. We hope to be back very soon.

The location is central and easy to find. We used this place as a base for our adventures around the town. The room had enough space for both of us and everything we needed for our stay. We had a sea view with a balcony which was a bonus. Breakfast was the highlight for us, a proper Italian 🇮🇹 breakfast with really amazing coffee. The hostess that checked us in and helped at breakfast is a credit to the B&B, she is extremely excellent at her job and is very helpful.

The breakfast was absolutely amazing, delicious food in a lovely room with view of the sea. Coffee, tea, juice, cereals, bread, pastry, everything you could ask for. The room was very clean and beautiful, the view of an old church and the inner city was breathtaking. everything is near, the port is next door, train station is a short walk. The best part of the b&b is the staff, so helpful and welcoming and all around lovely.

Great location, friendly staff, delicious buffet breakfast with a great selection. We had stopped for one night on our way from Taormina to Palermo and we had stayed at some nice expensive hotels but this was by far our favorite they had air con and smart tvs comfortable beds and large rooms, great shower pressure. We had a balcony overlooking the harbor and some big cruise ships came in which was fun to look at. We walked into town and had parking right out front.

Fabio is a Super Host! Welcoming and friendly, Fabio has a beautiful R&B in the heart of Messina. Convenient to historical sites, pastry shops and restaurants and yet a quiet retreat within. Comfortable beds, daily cleaning and beautiful private bathroom makes for a restful stay. The included breakfast was top notch and delicious!

This room was huge! It was really clean and the bed was comfortable. The air conditioner worked well too! The bathroom was spacious and clean. Our host Antonella was extremely responsive and helpful. She gave us restaurant and activity recommendations. She also let us store our bags after checkout which was much appreciated. There was free coffee and snacks in the shared kitchen area, which was amazing. We were also given breakfast vouchers for a cafe down the road which was good. We would 100% stay here again!

Really high-quality accommodation! The host provided good instructions on how to find a place to stay. It was easy to find the place and we could easily park the car in front of the house. The room was really clean, big and beautiful. The shower had good water, the bathroom was clean and the bed was very good. The room had air conditioning and we slept very well. Breakfast was served in the shared kitchen. Breakfast included croissants, coffee and juice. The host couple was really helpful. The location is great, right next to the Duomo and restaurants almost next to the corner. You can get everywhere by foot. The Duomo is incredibly beautiful and comes alive every hour! You have to go to see that! Messina was really beautiful, I will come again!

Exceptional immaculately clean spacious ensuite rooms and warm hosting. Friendly relaxed conversations with hosts in breakfast area. Very attentive to our needs. Messina is an understated gem with plenty of good restaurants around and above Plaza Duomo. Being on the rail it is a good base for both coastlines and more peaceful to stay in than the attractive but frenetic Taormina which is about 40 mins by train.

A quite small but lovely room in a B&B apartment with more guests. It has a bathroom with a great rain shower, a small fridge and in fact everything needed for two days. To get in, the host advised us by phone and gave the code t oget hte keys. The rest followed smoothly. Antonella was very friendly and helped with booking taxis and gave advise about restaurants and bars. The area is perfect, close to the cathedral square, a pedestrian area full of restaurants and bars, and the taxi stand nearby.

The host were lovely, the beauty of the B&B was gorgeous from the chandeliers to high ceilings. It was impressively clean and the location was ideal. You could easily walk around the corner to a beautiful church with an open area where there was a concert. Breakfast was at a Cafe there the host walked us to. On that same street was restaurants, bar, fun to walk at night & felt safe.
